Worst customer service. I paid over $8000 less than three years ago. One side of our king size bed keeps deflating. They charged us $170 for a service call and they need to come back with a part which we will need to "only" pay $278 cause we are still under warranty. What a racket. My boyfriend and I came into the store today for the first time to decide which mattress to purchase. We were approached by Peter L who immediately came off as condescending and unwelcoming. After asking us a few questions he appeared dissatisfied with our responses and told us "SMILE!" Excuse me? We came to get information and test mattresses. We were not there to make the salesperson feel comfortable. That's his job! Especially when we were looking to drop 8k. We immediately walked out before he could insult us any further. We have visited this store probably 4 times in the last 4 months trying to make some final decisions on the right Sleep Number bed for us. Many years ago I had a Select Comfort bed which was the original Sleep Number bed and I absolutely loved it. That original bed lasted 19 years before it started a small air leak and then I finally had to dispose of the bed. We did decide to go back to a standard regular mattress and box spring type bed and I can truly say that it was the worst decision not to get another Sleep Number bed at that time, but it just seemed too expensive. We look back now and it would have only been a few hundred dollars more to buy the sleep number bed rather than the standard mattress and box spring. Now after many trips to the store we made the final decisions and the bed has been ordered. We were very happy with the staff and dealing with Pete during the labor day event. We saved quite a bit and received free shipping. Looking forward to many years of happy sleeping. read more

Whether you are thinking of Buying a car, furniture ,or a home, working with a Salesman will most likely be part of your purchasing Adventure. Having sold cars for many years, I fear not the salesman. I enjoyed walking into the Sleep Number showroom, it was bright modern and appealing. After 3 minutes of browsing around I was approached by a polite well-dressed, sales counselor. I responded by contacting his eyes with a broad smile, and accepted his invitation to be educated. I've always wanted to know the difference between Sleep Number and some of the other mattress experiences. Having seen some of the advertising previously, I wanted to get the real info. I can best put it this way, Everything purchased through sleep number is "Ala Carte". You can customize your mattress purchase dozens of different ways. Buy just the bed, just box spring get a split bed, get a recliner, get a foot warmer. So I can prepare you kind folks, Come with a whole bunch of moolah! This will turn out to be quite the pricey sleeping experience, if you want your bed to include everything as displayed in the showroom. I look at the purchase this way, if you going to spend so much money on a Deluxe sleeping experience, do it the right way and use all of their equipment. If you try to half step, use your old box spring, try to jury-rig some of your other stuff to fit your budget. This really isn't the product for you. Get ready to spend from $5,000 to $10,000. This is not the product for budget-minded people. This is an extravagant luxury item that you going to spend some bucks on. The approach is basically the same as what car salesman do, start with the small pricing and build value for the product as you go along. folks walking in here thinking I'm going to spend $1,500 to $3,500 on the complete project, that won't even make the deposit. As you continue with the dialogue with your sales counselor you will realize the pricing does not include the box spring does not include the recliner (bed going up and down) doesn't include the massage or the foot warmer. And wait, there are 3 different styles of bed sold. I have to admit the beds were extraordinarily comfortable, and I'm certain well worth the price. I just felt a little embarrassed coming in to spend $3,000 or $4,000 and realizing I can't get what I want for under $10,000. I had wanted to get the bed that had the split recliner as wife tends to read upright while I lie flat. This is only available in the king model. Doesn't everyone want the massage doesn't everyone want the foot warmer and why even buy the bed if it doesn't go up and down. This particular choice would cost me in the area of $10,000. And again, if I'm going to spend that much scratch, you're going to have to at least do a little something extra for me. But unfortunately no more accommodations could be made at all, not even free delivery on a $10,000 item. The gentleman said that rather than make the sale, they would allow the customer to walk out. That is their policy. A buying experience which is constructed in a way to allow no bartering and no compromise, will push business away. I was informed that I needed to make a purchase immediately, as all prices were going up tomorrow. There's nothing I dislike more then paying more money for the exact same item that was cheaper the day before. Also going up in price was the delivery fee. That's not what the customer wants to hear. I even told the kind gentleman, that I never let a customer walk out of my business ever. My client's business is too important to me. I do not fault the sales counselor at all, he was extremely professional informative and very personable. I guess I was a little surprised budgeted to spend 4,000 and the product was actually 10k. In summation if you got the money sleep number is highly recommend. Sleep Number is a very professional looking outlet and it certainly appears that the mattresses and construction are second to none. But you are certainly going to pay for that. Due to the high cost of the complete item, my wife and I will continue to shop around. I thank my professional sales counselor very much for his time. PS. Because of the kindness and time the sales counselor spent with me, I look forward to stopping back soon. I had recently purchased bed sheets for one of our three Sleep Number mattresses and another set for my mother, as they were running a buy 1 get 50 percent off the second. I was helped by Jenny who was super friendly and knowledgeable. I did not know exactly which sheets I wanted but she explained the no questions asked trial period and I purchased the sheets. I opted for the least expensive set but discovered I did not care for them. So I went back to exchange them, even before my mother's set arrived in the mail. I worked with Tim (who seemed to be the manager or at least the acting manager) who was able to seamlessly help me not only at that time but also when I went back a third time to bring the sheets I initially purchased for my mother which I also exchanged for the same type of Sleep Number that I eventually purchased. No one was ever pushy and the process was very reassuringly transparent at all times. read more

I spent $5,000 on a sleep number bed my salesman Ariel was amazing and helpful . On delivery day I was not home and left my wife in charge , the delivery guys were in and out in 20 minutes not 2 hours that was stated. They did not set up the sleep number app and screwed up the installation . I called my man Ariel for help and he was useless and cold telling me I have to call customer service . Now I have to wait a week for a service call to fix the screw up. Thank you Ariel for being 2 faced and thank you sleep number for hiring inadequate installers . read more

DO NOT BUY A BED FROM SLEEP NUMBER! Within one year our bed started to deflate on one side. When I called and chatted with representatives for assistance I was told to watch tutorials online and to purchase caps that should have been included with the bed. Finally I was told I would have to pay the full price for installation of new parts despite the fact that the issues began during the warranty. Despite the aggressive salesmen save yourself the aggravation and buy your mattress from somewhere else. DON'T spend thousands of dollars on a mattress that will fall apart within a year! read more

This is a review of not just this store but Sleep number's customer service policy as well. The sales staff were very nice and accommodating, however that's where the good part ends. I live in a co-op that has delivery restrictions - not later than 4pm- and I mentioned this to the salesperson, it was entered into the computer. When I was notified of delivery the time slot was 4-8 pm. I had to call customer service and fix this, which incurred a week delay on the bed. I also found that on delivery I had bought the upgraded version, which I did not want.This was due to their very confusing tier system of bed frame building. I only realized that the frame was upgraded when the technician told me the options he connected- 45 minutes after everything was set up. Beware because once an adjustable bed is "built" it is NOT returnable, refundable, exchangeable or anything. I was informed by customer service that I should have looked up the bed number on their website (which by the way does not indicate prices), or not accepted the delivery. No other options were available. They did offer to just disconnect the feature that i didn't want - but i would still have to pay. The feature has no value so they could not give any kind of compromise. Yet that valueless feature to the bed costs the customer $1000. This was an expensive purchase and to find that there is no customer support is a big risk. The mattress is a good one but buyer beware with this company! They just want your money at any cost. read more

The sales person was friendly and knowledgable and made the purchase extremely easy. The best part was no interest for 24 months which sealed the deal for me. One star is too high...Ordered a mattress on March 18th. Didn't need it until June as I was moving into my new home. They said no problem, just call us two weeks before you need it. We called and were given a delivery date of June 22nd, which we confirmed on the 20th (delivery window of 2-6pm). On the 21st customer service called and said they couldn't deliver on the 22nd. They needed to rescheduled for July 8th. Ok. Not happy. So we just got a call (July 5th) and they cannot deliver until July 28th. Really? Is this how you do business? The store is no help. All they say is they are helping other customers and to call customer service. They could care less. Just make another sale on a product you cannot deliver for months. ALERT THE MEDIA. Absolutely the worst company to do business with. Salesman oversold and misled us. Initial delivery was a disaster. Guys didn't speak English- they tore up my ceiling and moldings and never set up the bed properly. The bed they delivered has not worked properly and a replacement was scheduled. The second delivery never showed up and did not contact us until 2 hours after the schedule window. After apologizing profusely the scheduled delivery for the next day a Saturday night. The crew shows up and they are missing parts of the bed. For the amount of money they charge for these beds they should be ashamed of their customer service. read more
