I had happened to be in this area because I had met up with friends earlier and I am a huge Homegoods fan so decided to stop by. This place is located in one of those big outdoor shopping mall plazas. I stopped by on a mid October Sunday afternoon around 3pm and it was PACKED. It was very difficult to find parking also since there were a bunch of other stores in the mall that shared the same lot. Once inside, although there was a lot of items, everything was very chaotic looking. Nothing was organized in each section and stacked haphazardly on top of each other. It's organized in the sense that everything in a specific category was together (ie, pillows, pet items, pots/pans, food, picture frames, candles, etc). I was there maybe 30-45 minutes and heard items shattering on the floor twice. Some aisles you can't even get a shopping cart through. I felt in this location, they don't have too many of each particular item so if you find something you like or are hesitant about, I'd say just purchase it because you probably will not find it again. Prices overall are reasonable if not very good for what you're getting. I had found 2 items I wanted but when I was ready to go on line to check out, I realized the line went almost all the way to the back of the store! Needless to say, I wasn't waiting in that line for 2 items and just left. In conclusion, if you have the time and patience to look through all the items (they do have a lot of good items) and then wait in a long line (especially on a weekend), then this Homegoods location is the place for you. read more

Clean, organized and packed with goodies! I am a home good fanatic and travel to many of them in Brooklyn and Long Island. This by far is one of the best for me. On a busy Saturday the line is always moving and the store is highly organized in all sections and there is abundance of stock neatly packed and displayed. It's become my go to store. read more

Purchased a comforter Feb 14, did not check to ensure shams were inside until after a few weeks and there were no shams to be found. Took comforter back for return on day 28 and was refused by Matt ( day manager ) who said" I cannot return with missing pieces " I told him the pieces were never inside to begin with so how can I return something I never had ? He had someone check and said the other one in the store has shams, so this one should too and no he will not accept return. I was grilled as to why almost one month past since I purchased and now returning. I still fell within the 30 days for return.Matt asked when did I open & discover missing shams, and I said about 1 week ago but that is not the point. Seriously....anything is possible as to what happened to the shams that were not in with the comforter. I doubt whoever stocks the comforters or any other employee takes apart each comforter to ensure every item listed is in place. I felt i was being treated like a thief and it is obvious Matt felt I was one for not allowing the return. Yes, will call corporate but it is probably a waste of time. read more

I went to this location today to pick up an All-Clad 10 piece cookware set among a few other things for the new place I'm moving into. The person checking me out at the register seemed very pushy and not considerate of my time, because she was constantly trying to push the Home Goods credit card onto me repeatedly. I respectably declined, however, she wouldn't take no for an answer, then decided to call her supervisor over to push their card on me further. I honestly just wanted to pay for my things and just leave, but they wouldn't make it easy whatsoever. In the end, I managed to pay for my items and walk away while biting my tongue. I was under the impression that they either thought I didn't understand English and was illiterate or they thought I could be pressured into getting something I didn't want, but either way, I didn't appreciate this pushy behavior whatsoever. For those of you who love Home Goods, please don't ever get pressured or bullied into doing things that you don't need or want to do. My recommendation is to avoid this location as the supervisor or senior manager has the personality of a used car salesman trying to sell you a lemon. read more

Hello, it is a rare occasion that I find myself having the time to review negatively, as all my reviews of HomeGoods have been positive in the past, but I felt compelled to share publicly with potential customers of the Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park location of HomeGoods the atrocious and inappropriate behavior of management. My friend and I, who spent collectively almost $1000 at the store were obviously and aggressively followed around the store for no reason during our entire stay. we felt extremely uncomfortable, and when we went to pay, we were treated with not only with rudeness and disrespect, but we're given inaccurate policy information. Additionally, there was one checkout person, and a line of about 15 people, and nobody even bothered to call more clerks to accommodate customers until I had to go out onto the floor and the poor workers voluntarily came to help customers because management was nowhere to be found. Two of the workers even shared with me that this is a common occurrence, and they are frustrated by it as well. I am hoping that by writing this review, the powers that be rectify this ongoing situation as the store has beautiful merchandise, but it's chasing away many customers due to outward aggressive and apathetic behaviors by management. Rest assured that I have spoken with many other people who have had the same experience. I will look forward to shopping there again and hope that attention was actually paid to this so that customers can feel comfortable shopping there and don't need to go to another. had a BIG ARGUMENT with an old cashier named Andrea old and long purple hair. She is incompetent and was extremely rude and disrespectful for no reason at all. Please Management and owner watch the camera and listen to the audio. She and I were pleasant at first with each other I explained to her that I got some plates that were on the clearance rack that I wanted to purchase, but every other plate was marked down and the others weren't I just wanted to know if they were 2.00 less than original price like the others, but that I'd be purchasing them either way however it'd be nice to get them at the discounted price. She gives me an attitude and says well, I have to verify that I can't just mark them down with an annoyed attitude. I told her nicely sure that's fine thank you I can wait I'll be purchasing them either way. She asks me if I'm purchasing the other plates as well I said no I brought them here to show you these are marked down yet these aren't. She gets more annoyed and says yeah sometimes things are on clearance and they in fact aren't they're just there so I have to verify. I said nicely okay that's fine. She moves the plates behind the register comes back moves the other plates to the side looks at me and says to me with an attitude so what are we doing here. I told her nicely waiting to see if they're on clearance I look at my daughter confused as she looks at me confused. Andrea proceeds to say with an attitude you know maybe I should get someone else to help you since I'm of no help I say excuse me she said yeah you don't know how to communicate. I said You asked me the same question 3 different times and told me 3 different ways you needed to verify if they're on clearance to which you've yet to do, but yet you're asking me so what are we doing here being rude and saying I can't communicate when I explained and answered you 3 different ways I've not been rude to you at all you seem very miserable and incompetent so yes go get someone else to help me and while you're at it please get your manager as well. She says to me ohhhhhhhh you want a manager I said don't speak to me we're DONE here she proceeds to say I am married with children and happy unlike you among other things ( Oooooookay and so am I) I turn around and ask the African American further down to please call her manager she said she did and Andrea tells the girl you don't need to get involved I can and will call a manager. She's still running her mouth I said this is how you talk to and treat your customers you're so unprofessional she finally walks off the register goes to head to the back I tell my daughter take herself and my son to the car before I really have to get nasty with this woman Andrea did not go to the back instead she overheard me and approached me and my two children again (ALL ON CAMERA) and said you're very abusive at that point as loud as I can be I yelled at her a bunch of times yelling OVER HER GOODBYE GO GET YOUR MANAGER Goodbye she STILL stood there insulting and pleading why she was correct and that she "tried to help me" I told her no you didn't I explained to you the simple issue you asked me 3 different ways the same question I respectfully answered you 3 different ways nicely you told me 3 different times you had to verify if they were on sale you never did, but you proceeded to ask me so what are we doing here?? We were WAITING FOR YOU TO VERIFY if they were or weren't on clearance now go get your manager and stop speaking to me going back and forth you're incompetent she STILL kept going when a manager was coming up she ran to the manager trying to plead her case that the manager even had to tell her enough go to the back! The moral of the story: when you find something you like, buy it right away and then decide later if you want to keep it. The place is great browsing for home stuff. However, everything is random. The quality of items are moderately better than getting stuff at a dollar store. But can be a little more pricey than at a Walmart or Target. Inspect items thoroughly to make sure you are paying for what you see. It can be annoying to come home and see broken items that you didn't see while at the store. This area shopping mecca attracts all types of retailers to its stretch of Malls and Stores from Carle Place through Westbury petering out with a few stores in Western Hicksville. All on Old Country Road or north and south of it. So here sits Home Goods and when you go in you realize a bit more is happening... city like in its pace and a few more things than some other HG's that seem to be moving quickly off shelves. The manager said this is the #1 Home Goods Store in the country. So... if you can't find what you want at another HG maybe try here. Weakness? Rude and disrespectful staff. Went here a couple of weeks ago to buy decorations, carried a really nice decor another customer claimed that they wanted to buy the same thing. I went over to the register and the sales associate saw that the other customer was pissed and left the item to go speak with the guy at the door, and stylishly tried to give the other customer the item that I got first. I was shopping in Home Goods today. The checkout line usually is well organized. Today- around lunchtime, only 2 cashiers. The line was backed up, while a female cashier was helping a customer- in addition they were showing pictures, catching up on their life happenings. This went on for at least 15 minutes. HomeGoods is great for several things: throw pillows, unique furniture, holiday decorations, and kitchen and bathroom trinkets. When it comes to other things (such as window curtains) they don't carry a varied selection. It's nice having a HomeGoods so close now! They're designs are very fun and modern. I bought a really adorable blue chevron patterned hamper after mine was following apart. It was exactly what I was looking for. Their pillow section was also really tempting for me. We will save that for another trip though... My sister has bought quite a few items from here for our house. She bought a lovely sand-colored and turquoise Italian-made vase for $20 bucks. It really helps tie in our kitchen. The layout isn't strange, per say, but the columns are in really bad spots. You'll see what I mean when you try to pass by an aisle and get stuck or can't pass through. It's a tiny bit annoying but really not a huge deal. read more

I have been shopping in this and two other Home Goods locations over the last couple of months quite often. I have a large house project in which I am adding three bedrooms and two bathrooms and let me tell you this place is such a godsend. You get your ideas here, then you can shop for everything you desire and then you can even accent and accompany your dream rooms with every little accessory that you never thought of in the first place. Prices are reasonable to begin with; there are also lots of sales, and sometimes they have things that are worth paying a little more for anyway. Sometimes there are long lines at the registers, but for good reason, and they tend to move quickly. Help is always on the sales floor to for your convenience. Great store! I was here yesterday around 12noon. This location has nice items compared to other locations. However, this review is for the LACK OF CROWD CONTROL DURING A PANDEMIC. It was quite over what they should allow in at one time. They definitely need to monitor the amount of people so that it is safer for everyone. *Management really needs to have a system set in place that allows only a certain amount at a time like so many other stores. As people exit they can let only in the same amount that left. It's not difficult. This is ridiculous and the owner/district manager or store manager needs to be informed ASAP. read more

There were maybe two items that peaked my interest. A massive floral arrangement for $200 and a grey rug that was pretty affordable, but too small for my living room so I didn't get it. Apparently you must wait while new rags are being produced for the items you are returning, prior to receiving your store credit, No problem, the woman helping me needed help, I went to gather my son who was wondering in the store while I waited, the manager was now helping my associate. I'm a fan of HomeGoods and the magical finds. This place is pretty great. It's located in the new Gallery shopping area right off of Old Country Road. The parking here is not horrendous - at peak times just have patience or park on the lower level areas. There's always enough shopping carts, and store clerks to assist. The line moves at a decent rate when the store is packed. The store is for the most part organized however some areas get to the point of "omg it's too messy, I can't even look", however this is pretty much the thing in most HomeGoods. My fave spots to check out are the throws/pillows, kiddie toys/furniture, pet items, frames/wall art, lamps and the bathroom accessories. I come atleast every 2 weeks and noticed a good inventory turnover. The only con about this store is the layout/design. Somebody did not take into consideration what a pain in the bumbum those giant columns are - esp if you have a cart or trying to navigate around other consumers. read more

I called and spoke to a woman named Wendy who said she put a plant on hold for me. I gave the item number and was told there was one in stock and it would be on hold until closing. I get to the store and she had left and the plant was not on hold. I was very disappointed with this outcome considering I drove from QUEENS to get it. I do want to say that this very nice man who was the cashier for the night was very helpful and looked everywhere with me in the store to help me find it. He was extremely kind and went out of his way to help me. Who I didn't get help from was the manager. She was extremely rude and not helpful AT ALL. She didn't help in ANY way. When I was trying to explain that this plant was supposed to be a gift for my mother and it was the only one left out of pretty much every home goods store I called in queens and LI .. she literally dismissed me and walked away. She was not even "busy" dealing with anyone. She was putting stickers on Items. Such a joke that as the manager you can't take time to talk to a disappointed customer. A manger is supposed to represent for that store and after my interaction with her I will NOT be going back to that home goods ever. In my honest opinion , someone like that should NOT be a manager. The very nice man that kept calling us "young lady and young man" should be. I wish I got his name. He was trying to get to the bottom of my problem even when he knew he still had to check out other people in the store with the line almost around the store while the manager is literally doing nothing. Okay, we all know that discount stores vary in quality - both the quality of the product and the quality of the store - but this place is sadder than most. The aisles are super tight, making navigation with a cart difficult. There is barely any staff checking in on people. And a lot of the product was more banged up than usual and the prices seemed high. If you are already in Westbury and you want to visit a HomeGoods, spend an extra 10 mins driving to the Hempstead location. So much better. read more

Terrible service. First of all, a young woman with blond wig was incredibly rude. After ringing us up and printing the receipt, I said thank you and she violently shoved the receipt into my hand while basically facing the opposite direction. Of course she didn't respond or apologize, just silently tried to ignore the fact that she was rude. Even my spouse noticed and was shocked that she tried to shove the receipt into my hand. You could tell she had no manners or professional training based on that interaction, just disappointing. That's no surprise because the greeters were standing by the door telling everyone to be focused when they shop because they close at 9:30pm. I got in there at 8:55pm. This location is total trash. Clearly the company is to blame because they hired these people and allow them to treat customers this way. I rather pay full price at friendlier establisments. read more

Manager was nasty and bitter, with no people skills, and absolutely unfit for her position as manager. I picked up a duvet cover set from the bedding section and proceeded to check out. Price tag was $39.99. Cashier starts peeling off price tag, revealing another price tag underneath for $49.99, proceeds to call manager to take a look at it (because they never place more than one price tag on an item - can you sense my sarcasm?). Manager refused to honor actual price because "it was not placed there by mistake by an associate" and further claimed that "it was tampered with". Was I just accused of switching tags? I brushed it off as a joke and even told her to check cameras to see that was how I found it. She TURNED THE OTHER WAY AND IGNORED ME. Rather than accept that one of your associates placed the wrong price tag and honor the ticketed price, this person, that Homegoods finds fit to be a manager, accuses customers of tampering with prices and cannot even address the matter. First time I have ever entered a store and dealt with such a power high over $10. Homegoods - I love shopping at your stores, but this was by far my worst shopping experience. read more

My bf introduced me to this store and I fell in love with this place. How have I never been to one before??? They've got all sorts of stuff from kitchen utensils, to pillows, to toys, rugs and sofas. You never know what you can find..they were selling a life-size toy soldier for your outdoor christmas decor back in December and now they have a classic Pac-man arcade machine. I had been eyeing several things online, waiting for prices to drop.. and magically, I found the items here for a few bucks cheaper. (Yes, even cheaper than amazon!) They get new shipments daily that get loaded into the back storage room, so come here every once a week or two and you'll be sure to see new stuff you haven't see before. If it doesn't fit in your car and a family relative or friend can, you can pay for the item and they will hold it for you in the back for I think 3 days max. For holidays, they told me 1-2 days since everyone wanted them to hold it in the back. You just need to be there with the pink slip they give you when you pay. Just avoid this place on the weekends, holidays, and the Mondays after. It is quite possibly the messiest place ever. read more

I am not even going to complain about how crappy everything was in the store ( broken, mismatched, dirty)! Unfortunately, I had to use the ladies room. I don't even know how to describe what I saw in there. One of the stalls looked like someone threw up and lost their bowels at the same time. I wanted to run out but was so desperate i went to the next stall. I stepped over all of the toilet paper and wet paper towels, did my bizzle and tried to escape the stall with out touching what looked like blood smeared on the stall doors!! Seriously though, there are days when it looks like a tornado hit this place. This home goods is the same as all others, and carry the same philosophy as HIT or MISS. Its hard to review places like these, some times you'll find something thats exactly what youre looking for. And you wont find it ever again, not even at other home goods. Most of the time though, its just mundane miscellaneous stuff. If you score something, itll be your favorite place. If you dont, then it was a waste of time. The lines can sometimes be long. Overall the prices are reasonable for the brand they sell, so giving it one star above the rest! read more
