My 96 year old father purchased a sleep number bed mattress, but we then realized he required the frame. purchased the frame. When delivered, the technician could not sync up the remote. Another appointment scheduled. Technician didn't show at last minute/cancelled. Scheduled another appointment. Technician did not hook up remote properly. Only frame is working. Customer service is terrible. Will not refund the bed. Will not send out another technician. Requires over phone problem shooting, which means my Dad requires someone to help him out. All in all a 96 year old man has been unable to sleep in his bed for three weeks now. And will continue until I can take off of work and be there to trouble shoot over the phone. read more

I brought my eleven year old into this store in the mall mattress shopping with me, which the salesman immediately made me regret by walking right up to me and asking me if "I was only there to show the mattresses to my daughter", (didn't even say hello to us). I actually have herniated discs and I wanted to see what your product could do. He then harshly scolded her for laying on a bed to try it out and said it wouldn't work because she doesn't weigh enough!  (she felt really uncomfortable and stood away from him for the rest of our short visit and there was NO REASON he couldn't have been a gentleman towards her) After yanking the bed remote from me he lurked over me and told me that because HE worked there HE would have to push the buttons for me while I laid down. He looked super creepy (picture added below) and for what it's worth, I COMPLETELY DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE with the idea of laying down on a bed with him standing over me pushing the buttons on the remote control and asking me about my credit. So I asked for the remote back and he said, "do you own a bed?". I replied that I did own a bed. Then he asked if I own a *sleep number bed*, which I replied that I did not.  Not even kidding, then he told me that I wouldn't be able to figure out the remote because it's too complicated, but only HE could operate it because HE works there! I can actually build a computer and I live in a household of tech geeks so his remark and unwillingness to let me use the remote was laughable. Needless to say, I didn't even get to lay down on the bed. I just walked out without even saying a word. I also purchased a mattress from BJS Wholesale. It probably is not as high tech and difficult to operate as the one in your store, but I didn't have to deal with a condescending salesman that was rude to my daughter, either! We were promised delivery of our bed on June 8 th for our new home in Florida. We were just informed that the delivery will be delayed until July 18 when we will be back in NY. We now cannot move into our new house with no bed. It is costing us $2000 for a hotel room. This is the second time Sleep Number has done this to us. I am absolutely livid. We were greeted and asked of we needed help when we asked to be left alone for a few minutes while we tried a few beds they let us be. We tested, then when we were ready to talk we were given answers to what I would say were great questions. I bought a sleep number bed in Smithaven Mall and my experience with the sales person there was wonderful. However when I called customer service recently they gave me nothing but the runaround I spoke to one supervisor after another I was on the phone for over 2 1/2 hours and there was no help. I even answered an email survey they sent me and explain to them the difficulty I had and never heard back and that was a month ago. I certainly would have thought after spending close to $10,000 I would've been treated with much more respect instead of being ignored!!! I have been waiting once again for a supervisor to get back to me and no one has... I even message by text and the customer service person was of no help after texting back and forth for a half hour... then The texting rep said a supervisor would call... they left a vague message w no mention of my Yelp comment... when I tried returning the call on the 800 number he left there was no answer ... so being persistent I finally got a recording that put me on hold to the general customer service number... on hold for about another half hour and then the line disconnected... hopefully someone from sleep number will read this and send me a direct number to a actual person who will answer the phone... my email address is rpv17@aol.com read more

The worst. If there is a problem with the bed, we have no air, there is no support. They want you to trouble shoot your problem and repair it yourself or they give you a repair date way into the future. Where are my husband and I supposed to sleep in the meantime. Terrible retail experience at the Lake Grove location. Actually, the worst interaction with a salesman (his name tag said "Don") I've ever had. Chris V. of Sleep Number - I came to Yelp after my experience today and see that, yes, many others have had terrible experiences just as I have (also mentioning this same salesman). That begs the question, what exactly has Sleep Number done since the 6-month old review left by F G., where you replied that you, "passed your comments along to leadership for review." and the 13-month old review by Monica B. mentioning Don by name where your reply was, "We'll make sure this gets shared with the area manager for review and training purposes"? I am here to tell you that there is something broken with management because training is still very much needed. By reading these past reviews it's apparent that nothing has changed. I do not know if it is this individual only or a company culture, but you guys are losing sales and pissing people off. My personal experience was that Don was immediately pushy towards higher-end models. Fine - he's a salesman. He shows me the C4 and I lay on it. He shows me how the mattress can be adjusted with the remote. I say, "My friend used to have one and he told me that one thing that happens is that it can be kind of weird if the numbers on each side are very different. Can you set this side much lower so I can see what that's like?" He explains authoritatively that that was something that used to happen with the old ones that have some foam bar between the two sides, and that these new ones don't do that. "Ok, but I would still like to see it", I'm thinking. He does not show me. We keep going... he speaks arrogantly as if what he says is the only way. He asks me what car I drive after he says I shouldn't look at the price tag in the pamphlet between various models - just to look at those bar graphs of "support" and "pressure relief". At this point I'm thoroughly annoyed that this imbecile thinks he can take me for a fool. I try to respect everyone, but man, we live on different planes of reality. Anyway, I walked over to the C2 mattress to look at it for a bit (the entry level one that he didn't want to show me), then walked back and asked, "is it ok if I play with the numbers?". Now, I think this is perfectly reasonable. I mean, the reason to have a retail location is to show off your mattresses and see what they can do, and how they feel when you're laying on them. "No! You can't play with the numbers because people don't sleep on the mattresses in the store! You can play with them when you take the mattress home!", was his response. What does that even mean??? I stared in puzzling disbelief for maybe three seconds, then slid the pamphlet over to him across the desk where he was sitting, turned around hastily, and left with my wife without saying a word... until we left the building at which point I let out a few words including some colorful expletives. read more

I would not recommend shopping here for a sleep number bed. I went to view a mattress today because of the Labor Day sales advertised. The representative made me feel very uncomfortable there. So much that I had to leave. I decided to go on yelp to see if this was a common practice of the store or if I was targeted. It's common practice. Apparently their computers don't work, the staff is quick to tell you to call customer service and get you out the door. Staff wasn't friendly and I just don't understand how there are so many bad reviews for the same "customer service" man, yet they still have him working there, making the whole experience suck for us, customers. We walk into the store and started to check the mattress, immediately the older sales Don I think his name was just stared at us. I tell him I am interested in a mattress , point blank face says ok. So now I am staring at him like are you going to tell some information or what..... so my husband lays on a bed the old man comes over and stares again so my husband like yes??? He then says oh so you do want by a mattress. That pissed me off, but husband having the cooler head proceeded with questions. The man says stop let's see what your sleep number is ok.... we lay on the bed and he start using the remote and makes my side too soft because he acted like he didn't hear me when I said stop he then did my husbands side. So now we "know" our numbers. My husband then asks for the remote cause now we are on a bed that feels different then the one we were measured on. the salesman at first pulls the remote away like he Smeagle from lord of the rings and his precious. Then down right scolds my husband on how to use a remote. We decide that we need to think about this. Then salesman gets annoyed and starts saying in a loud voice where you gonna find a mattress better then this, maybe it's sticker shock huh? I had enough he could have gave it to me for $500 and I would have left. I felt judged and looked down upon. I am a nurse who works very hard is on my feet 8-16 hours a day I could have afford any mattress in that store. I took my money somewhere else !!! read more

I ordered an i10 flex top mattress with adjustable base paid in full the same day on my credit card. Delivery was set for 3/12/20, I verified that the installers would remove the slats from our bed so that the base would fit. I decided to remove the slats myself to try and accommodate them and make things easier, the arrived at 12pm and I got a call at 12:30 pm that they could not fit the bed because of the rails that support the slats. I instructed them to remove them as the sales rep said they would, I then got a call that they are not allowed to touch the bed frame and that they would have to ship it back or leave it at my house and return at another time to install it. I asked so where should I sleep now that my bed is apart, I quickly left work and drove home to remove the rails, when I got there the installer was ready to leave and said he could not do the job because he ran out of time. I called customer service and they made him wait, reluctantly he went to install the bed and said he thinks it will fit without me removing the parts.To save time I removed them anyway and he got mad and walked out. Then after all of this, they brought the wrong mattress, then leave without setting it up because its the wrong mattress and haul my old mattress away, leaving me with no bed or mattress to sleep on. It will take a week plus to get the right bed. Do your self a favor and spend your 10000 elsewhere, they do not value customers, they just want your money. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE, they will lie and bait and switch or try to scam you. I can't see how they have been in business for 33 years. read more

Very rude! Me and my friend walked in to get our sleep number like everyone else that walks in and went straight to a bed (like the commercials). In less than 5 secs some older man walks over telling us not to play with the remotes like we were children. He states that another young man will help us when he's done with what he's doing and reiterates not to play with the remotes. It rubbed us the wrong way and we left. Now I could have forgiven his mistake (we're grown women in our 30s) if it wasn't in a condescending tone. Granted we were wearing gym wear and naturally look younger, but not 5 mins later when we walk by who was in front of one of the beds playing with a remote while the same guy was hanging back?... An obvious child (couldn't have been more than 11 or 12). Not one peep from the guy then. Only difference btwn us if he indeed thought us the same age was the difference in our complexions. Sad, since we're grown working women we were actually looking for a legitimate consult. Guess we'll spend our money where someone's first reaction isn't to jump when they see us. read more

Little of the beaten path but so worth the trip, Mike was able to get exactly what we wanted within our budget, They have state of the art equipment to browse tons of furniture. Mike is very knowledgeable and guided us towards a bed we LOVE. Love the free delivery & setup too. That helped alot.
