Pure sales not service, it was all nice and friendly until the sale was complete then when I called with questions after the sale I was promised call backs that never happened and then when I went back to the store I was treated as if they couldn't give a shit about me. Then on my first statement they added a $80 promotional fee that was not disclosed in my final price. Delivery and set up guys were absolutely amazing, but other than that is been real shitty. After owning and sleeping on sleep number beds since 2005, I consider myself an expert in these products. I'm late 2021 we decided to give our original bed to our grandparent and buy a new bed. While it may sound like I'm a commercial for Sleep Number, I'm not. These products are the best on the market. The only thing is, the company does not do a real good job demonstrating and explain how the beds work in order to receive a decent nights rest. Until our recent visit back to the Redlands store, that statement was accurate. Then, we meant sleep professional, Mateo Roybal. An amazing individual well trained in the products he sells. We were duped. Have had the mattress for a year and well if you are plus size don't do it. I have to keep my side firm because I can feel the box spring below me if I don't. Also was told with a king you won't feel the separation of mattress in center and you do. Also since my husband can keep his on a softer setting if I get to close to the center I roll down into his side. Stuck with this mattress for another 3 years because of financing but if I could I would get rid of it in a heart beat. They tell you what you want to hear. Fell for all their tricks. Ok we've had our Sleep number for six months and the mattress is a 5 star mattress. Delivery 5 stars. However, please save yourselves and do NOT buy from this particular store and know you do not need to purchase the outrageously expensive base! We went in desperate for comfortable sleep. The Assistant manager, Jose, while seemingly nice at the time of our purchase, turned out to be an uncaring opportunist. When we made our purchase, he asked us if we wanted to pay an extra $500 for a foot warmer and head and foot lift. When we were already treating ourselves, we figured we'd splurge and add this feature in. At NO point was it explained that the base mattress (like a box spring in other mattresses) was NOT necessary. Instead, we were charged over $5k, convinced to use their financing, and informed the store we had a two story home w a sharp turn at the top. They assured us it was no problem. When the delivery team came, the took one look at our stairs and informed us that it was impossible to take the base up. We were told we could just get refund for this portion which we assumed was $500. The delivery team further informed us that in fact, with the kind of bed frame we had where a base is not necessary, we would not even have been able to use it with our purchase bc their Sleep Number base requires its own feet so we would have had to disassemble and not use an expensive portion of our bed frame that killed the aesthetics of the wrap around frame. The delivery team kindly helped us set up our bed with just the top mattress and were on their way. Then the main 800 number called to inform us we'd get a refund of $2500+ for returning the base. So Jose totally lied. To make matters worse, the financing which we didn't need for half the cost, was set up incorrectly and charged us the full $5200 on the first "payment". It took weeks upon weeks wherein we financed double the cost of what we bought before we got a refund. The 800 number folks were the only people who were helpful but their hands were tied and delayed bc the Redlands store failed to report the return of the base mattress which never even came into our house. I spent HOURS of my time getting this resolved! Where was the manager or Jose in all this? I left them a voicemail at the beginning of this fiasco and no one ever returned my calls or bothered to give a damn. Utter disappointment in this management. read more

My rating has more to do with the dishonesty displayed in the sales pitch we received while in the store. I did not want to buy a Sleep Number bed when my wife and I were shopping for one, but a family member has a Sleep Number bed and my wife had enjoyed sleeping on it in the past. We visited this location to look at the beds and the salesman showed us the different beds. We wanted an adjustable base because I suffered from lower back pain that can be debilitating at times. Given that we wanted a king-size bed and the adjustable base, our total costs were nearly $6,000 when purchasing the second-to-lowest quality of Sleep Number mattress they sell. I was worried about the cost when I considered how low the bed was on Sleep Number's totem pole of bed quality, but the salesman repeated the same mantra at least four times: "Even the lowest Sleep Number bed is better than any other regular mattress." So, we trusted him. How was my experience with the bed? Wonderful, actually! I was surprised, but within three days my constant back pain had reduced, and within a week it had gone away completely. To this day, any night I sleep on the bed my body gets the relief it needs, but to be clear, this is because of the adjustable base - not because of the mattress itself. Unfortunately, we don't sleep much on this bed. Why? Because my wife has had the exact opposite experience with our Sleep Number bed. She never had pain when she slept in our old bed (which had a mattress that was 10 years old, by the way). Now, in our Sleep Number bed, she hasn't had a single night of good rest. She feels either unsupported or uncomfortable in every position in our bed. What have we tried to resolve this? - I have contacted their Comfort team to ask for suggestions - I have adjusted the bed's position to every thinkable configuration - I have purchased memory foam wedges to fill in unsupported gaps left by bed adjustments I have adjusted my wife's Sleep Number from 30 - 85, in increments of 5 on different nights - I have purchased four different mattress toppers, ranging from $75 soft foam toppers to $350 4" gel foam toppers At the end of the day, nothing has worked to make this bed comfortable for her. Owning the bed has been pointless because we sleep most nights on the couch. My wife is a teacher and during these crazy times of Distance Learning, she is getting no rest to recover. I am glad that my pain is gone, but I live each day in guilt knowing that I essentially traded my pain to my wife. I wanted to return the bed within the "100-night sleep trial", but this is a bit of a bait-and-switch because the bed's base, the most expensive component, is neither refundable nor returnable. We have owned the bed for 11 months now and are set to pay it off a year early next month. A major motivation for my extra monthly payments has been to pay off the bed so we can move on. I hope to be able to sell it but I expect this will be a total loss and a $6000 mistake. Would things have been better if we purchased a top of the line bed? Maybe, but I didn't have $12,000 to spend on it. You should be able to wake up without pain on a bed that cost nearly $6,000. Sadly, we were not. Why am I leaving this review after nearly a year? I'm leaving it as a warning. They will try to tell you that "any level of Sleep Number bed is better than any regular mattress - DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! If you can afford one of their best mattresses you will probably have your life changed with the quality of sleep you'll get. But if you can't buy the top of the line models, do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. We will never buy another Sleep Number bed, and I caution you away from this store. read more

****If I could rate them a zero I would!!!!**** I purchased a twin sleep number mattress and adjustable base over the phone for my 81 year old ill mother on Memorial Day weekend...Sean the sales guy seemed very sympathetic to what we were going through and assured me that the bed would b set up at the right height for my mom upon delivery...it wasn't & my mom fell off the bed b cuz it was too high!!!! My mom's health has continued to decline due to heart & kidney failure...she has now been placed on hospice...due to this we needed to return the mattress and adjustable base...after 2 weeks of trying to start the return process we were told that the adjustable bases were final sale!!!! At NO point were we told that the base was a final sale!!!! Nor were we ever asked to sign anything that stated it was final sale!!!! If I had been told that I would NEVER have purchased it!!!! I don't buy anything that's final sale!!!! EVER!!!! After hours on hold with sleep number trying to get approval for the return of the adjustable base through upper management we were told that we would b receiving a full refund for BOTH!!!!The mattress and adjustable base were supposed to b picked up today between 3-6...then my husband gets an email saying only the mattress will b picked up & refunded!!! We called sleep number back right away and asked to speak with upper management...after an hour on hold Ashly in management told us she got approval for the adjustable base to b returned Ashly also put it in the notes on our account & called dispatch for the guys who would b doing the pickup to let them know that the pickup was for both the mattress and the adjustable base...she assured us that both would b picked up today...I assumed that everything was handled from this point on...but I don't live at the address where the bed is located...when the pickup guys got there around 3pm they refused to take the adjustable base!!!! Even though Ashly called dispatch to make sure they knew both items were scheduled for pickup...even though it was in the notes under our account!!!! We r going through a LOT dealing with my moms declining health!!!! Running on empty...and this whole situation has only made things much more difficult & upsetting!!!! After another hour on hold...I spoke with Kaylynn @ sleep number who checked the notes & assured me that the notes do state that the adjustable base was supposed to b picked up!!!! Kaylynn said they can pick it up tomorrow but in the meantime the adjustable base with no mattress on it is taking up the space where hospice needs to place the hospital bed for my mom which being delivered today!!!! Expierence at the store was good, typical salesman working on commission. Promise you what you want to hear then forget who you are when you walk out the door. My major problem is with customer service. Took delivery of the bed and the delivery people went over how to use the remote and all the functions of the frame. They didn't test all the components. After they left I tried raise the head on one side and it would not go up. Received the error code, went on line to troubleshoot. Well there is no way to enter the code and find out what the problem is. Called tech support, wait times up to an hour, left call back number. Three hours later received call. Took me fifty-five minutes to get an answer, the frame needs to be replaced. Most of that fifty-five was in silence. I kept having to ask the lady if she was still there. So if you buy one of these high priced beds, dont make the same mistake I did. Make them run every function of the bed and frame. read more

Sleep number is the worst. They sell me a bed with a remote control that doesn't work. But there's an app so I can get past that. But then the feet warmers that I paid over $1,000 extra for stop working. Why? Because they got sued. Google it. Then changed the programming so the warmers don't work to cover their butts. They didn't deliver what I ordered, the bed that came was single chamber and wouldn't hold air. It took dozens of calls to get the trash picked up. Customer service is a complete joke. Here I am 3 months later and they are still charging me for delivery and now they are saying they can't verify if all items were picked up so they want me to pay. Beware. Nothing but problems. Once you purchase your trapped. You can only return mattress not the base. 2 years in and my mattress deflates daily and base will not raise. Warranty only covers parts and not labor. Also not there fault but these beds are terrible to have fun on if you know what I mean. You can't stand or even kneel on them, I'm 200lbs. There return policies are deceiving. I received the c2 bed and was not pleased with it. Also very expensive. I called customer service and they tell me it will cost 179.00 for them to come pick up the bed. So you pay 179.00 for delivery and 179.00 to pick it up. The sales person does not tell you about that, only that you have 90 days to return it if you are not satisfied. Should of purchased my bed at Costco were they charge you nothing for returns. I went into Sleep Number in Redlands after doing some research on their beds. Also Sleep Number was recommended by a family member who swears the bed is a life saver. I still had several questions and all were answered. I still wasn't sold and needed to do some comparison shopping. I went to a couple other stores and was not satisfied with their products, so I returned to Sleep Number yet again. Again, more questions and the sales man answered them all. I ended up purchasing the p5 series. It was delivered the following week. I have had my bed for approximately 1 month. This is my unsolicited review. I LOVE THIS BED! Hands down, this may be the best investment I have ever made!! I used to wake up sore, toss and turn during the night, and had back pain. I can't explain it, all I know is all my pain has gone away. No more tossing and turning. Some nights, I can't wait to get home to get into my bed. I elevate the head and watch t.v. or read. I can keep track of the amount of time I sleep. I had a 97 out of 100, which means I laid in one spot the entire night. This is virtually perfect sleep. The sales staff at the Redlands location is exceptional. The manager, I believe his name is Tim. He knows his stuff and the other staff is so friendly and knowledgeable as well. I stopped in to tell them how much I am enjoying my bed and they knew me by name. I would highly recommend a Sleep Number. Do your research and if you are unsure if its worth it, without a doubt it is! I am 100% satisfied with both the bed and the service. read more

My partner and I had purchased a i8 sleep number bed 3 wks ago. We were in the shop for 2hrs asking about the return policy and warranty. We were told that we can return within 100 days and we would have to pay the shipping of 190.00. if we need to return. We had never received page 2 of the terms and agreement paper and the salesman made us sign the terms agreement paper stating, " so we can deliver the bed." We tried to return the base/ mattress and they told us that the base is nonrefundable and we have to pay 3000.00. After much bitching to the advocate managers they said they would take back the base for 500.00!!!WTF??? Do your homework before purchasing! Do not sign any papers untill you read the terms and condition. They will not tell you that the base is nonrefundable and you will be accountable for paying! I find it interesting that we had never received the terms and agreement paper and they make you sign on a separate page that you acknowledge d the terms and agreement. We went to this Sleep Number store specifically to try an i7 thru i10 Smart 360 bed. The specific reason is my wife has double scoliosis and requires the ability to adjust the firmness for her lumbar region. Jose was our representative and did an outstanding job of helping us select the right product which was the i7. We had to order the bed and it took approximately from late February to early April before the bed arrived. Sleep Number called 5 days prior to delivery to set a delivery day, they then called 2 days before delivery to reconfirm the appointment, they then called the day of the deliver to let us know when they would arrive and the setup team arrived on time. Within 2 hours they had completed the setup and went through a complete explanation of all of the bed functions. Having read the previous reviews there are some complaints about pricing etc. If you read Consumer Reports reviews you will find that Sleep Number's beds are not your run of the mill beds and that their pricing runs accordingly i.e., more in the range of an upper end SUV etc., but we were aware if that when we made our purchase.
