I did research on Shahin first before I handed over these valuable possessions. Shahin had extensive experience in rug restoration for museums in Santa Fe and in Tehran. She came highly recommended by a locally famous architect as well. Yes, Heriz Oriental Rug Services took all my very large rugs and gave them back one-by-one as the very long and arduous process was completed. (We have Persian rugs on top of our beautiful oak floors in every room of the house, except the kitchen and bathrooms.) This process indeed took 3-plus years because all the intricate restoration was done meticulously by hand. I now can pass these rugs down to my son when I die, just as my parents did for me. It is not the monetary value that concerns me so much as the sentimental value. Under no circumstances would I take any valuable antique rug (which is a piece of art in my opinion) to anyone in New Mexico except Shahin and her staff. She has trained her employees to respect the quality of the rugs, and to treat the rugs as the valuable piece of artwork that they are. Yara is an amazing talented young lady who knows all about these rugs as she was trained under Shahin. Yara's mother who worked on my rugs has a trained eye and honed skills for such a talent. Shahin's prices were very reasonable. I was pleased with doing business LOCALLY and with someone with the expertise and patience that was required for my beautiful antique Persian rugs. PS: To the man who says some Russian woman with little dogs bashed President Obama and black people: That confuses the heck out of me. After numerous emails with Ali and calling their office directly, I now found out that their shipper misplaced my shipment. I was originally told to expect a call from their shipper last week but that never happened. I called and spoke to a customer service person and it sounded like she was annoyed that I was asking about when I can expect the product. I was given the option of receiving the stone basin, pump and installation kit and have the bamboo spout delivered once it arrived. Obviously, I would incur another delivery charge as well as extra charges from my landscaper who I contracted to install it for me so I declined. Today I found out from an apology email from Ali that their shipper misplaced my original shipment and that they will have to wait for another shipment to recarve the water basin and asked if I'm ok to wait another 3 weeks, No thanks! I would've sourced this somewhere else had I known about the longer than expected delivery date and they weren't even honest about it from the start. I asked to speak with a manager or owner as a last ditch effort but was rudely hung up on after hearing a male voice on the other end. I called back and was told that someone would call me back......still waiting. I emailed several messages to Ali..... still waiting. This business is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau as I came to find out. Such a shame! The product was perfect for what I needed but Stone Forest did not deliver. I understand that everyone is experiencing shipping delays but it doesn't seem that they care at all. They have a large selection of sizable pieces of furniture which are all in pretty good shape and most of their stuff is pretty unique. It is just a fun store to wander through.
