First off I just wanna say our server Eric (sorry if spelled wrong) was awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable n just all around great! But this was one of the worst meals we have ever had! My boyfriend's dish tasted like straight wine! It was the chicken with red wine & wine was clearly not reduced AT ALL! He hates alcohol and obviously doesn't drink, I however do drink & it was disgusting! I had the crab cakes and they were the worst I've ever had (I'd rather frozen ones than that crap), they were overcooked, had zero taste and just horrible! Mashed potatoes were horrible, no salt, flavorless and chunky, sherry carrots were gross, bread was dry, cold and just gross, I ordered bread pudding but got rice pudding that I can get better from a store! We will only be back to visit our server bc the rest was atrocious! Negative 50 stars out of 5!!! read more

Last time we were here, we had terrible service, but it was nothing compared to tonight. We arrive and are given a terrible table in the middle of the large dining room where there were a couple of large parties with screaming babies. We asked for a table in the first dining room that was a little quieter. The waitress turns around and says "i have to check. We have a lot of reservations." I motioned to her the mostly empty large dining room. She gives me a nasty look and then says she has to check. When we checked in, there were two names on the reservation list. Mine and another one. She's gone for ten minutes and comes back to tell us we can move, but we just walked out and left. We have been coming here consistently for a couple of years now. one word, AMAZING!! I want to start this noting I NEVER write reviews. I am a foodie...I have dined in and worked in many top rated fine dining establishments on both coasts. I was very impressed with our meal and the service. We drove up 2 hrs to go hiking the falls and planned to eat here on the way back . I am so glad we did. They were closing at 8 and we got there at 7:15 and hoped not to be rushed even though it was close to closing time. The dining rooms where very nice, they had a cozy fire in the first room and the main room had a huge picture window with a great view of the valley that I am sure is gorgeous to see during day light hours. Our Server Micalena was so nice, and the menu had a wide Varity of items but not too many that i was lost. We both had the French onion soup to warm up from the chilly hike, it was hands down one of the best ever...and like everything else we ordered, HUGE! Next came the salads...I looked at my date as our server brought them, they were HUGE!!! We both were cracking up ,. they were fresh and crisp and the home made croutons were Devine! Everything was PERFECTLY Timed, Micalena never rushed us and never asked if we were ready for the next course , she was beyond on point. Then came dinner ....I thought there was another tables food with ours on the tray. We hade the prime rib with jalapeno butter and the chef made me a jumbo lump covered chicken francaise.. OMGOODNESS both were amazing! First, I have never had prime rib fat dissolve in my mouth , it was amazing, and the butter was beyond words. This was a perfectly cooked King Cut . The Jumbo lump crab amount was massive and FRESH, and the chicken was like butter and a large portion Everything was EXCELLENT, down to the breading on the the onion rings, I have never been excited over an onion ring LOL! The sides were huge and Micalena brought us an extra side of the house carrots in sherry wine so we could try them and they were amazing too. Then Dessert.....I was not expecting to have dessert included and definitely not to have so many choices either. I was ready to hear three flavors of ice-cream and maybe chocolate cake, not the full dessert menu. We both opted for the home made Mousse as we were stuffed from dinner.... like everything else the bowls were HUGE and it was hands down the best we have ever had. The last shocker was the check. I did not have my glasses with me and when I glanced down I had to ask if she brought the right check. I dont care about meal prices. Usually for the type of meal we had had I would expect to pay around $100 , and would gladly have paid more for the quality of the food and size of the portions served here. It was a fraction of that. if you have a big family they have $18 dinner specials, full course, same size ( I had to ask) Its nice to know there are places out there that make it so if someone was on a budget they could afford to take there whole family out to a superb meal . Ate dinner at Lookout House Restaurant. Michalena (sp?) was our server and she was fantastic. All the other staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Homemade bread served when you arrive is delicious. Reasonably priced drinks. Homemade blue cheese dressing is amazing. We had soft shell crab, ahi tuna, and scallops - all were absolutely delicious! The Manhattan clam chowder was also full of clams and so flavorful. This place knows how to do seafood!! We'll be back! read more

My boyfriend and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner celebration and it was amazing. Everything was beautiful. The atmosphere, food and service was amazing. I had the shrimp and scallops scampi with linguini. The scallops were cooked to perfection. I felt bad that I couldn't eat it all. I had the peanut Butter pie for dessert. It was very rich and tasted like eating a peanut butter cup. For a fu e dining restaurant the prices are also not bad. I would definitely recommend and we will be coming back again. read more

My inlaws live in nearby Hazleton and my father-in-law suggested we all go here, after someone told him to go...what a great call. I noticed one of the other reviews said don't be fooled by the building (or the motor hotel across the parking lot), I agree with this. You can either dine in the dining room with white table clothed tables or in the bar. We chose the bar, which was full of locals and turned out to be a fun, cozy place to dine, very old school if you know what I'm saying. The food is all homemade and you really can't go wrong with anything. I had chicken in a red wine mushroom sauce and a side of homemade fries (think 5 guys fries but handcut). My wife and father-in-law had pulled beef sandwiches with onion rings. The rings were huge and hand battered and the beef was amazing, pulled brisket with no fat. My mother-in-law had pulled pork which was also very tasty. This place will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. I highly recommend it if youre looking for something off the beaten path. I love this restaurant! It's a family favorite. My Mom and Dad frequented Lookout House for years, and we celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary there. We have so many memories of this establishment. The staff are terrific. Nate always warmly greets us. In Fall and Winter, we like sitting near the fireplace. The ambience here is welcoming and comfortable. There is an extensive menu of seafood, beef, chicken, Italian, etc. Last dinner for me included soft shell crabs (lightly sauteed, crisp, spicy), salad, homemade bread (arrives in a loaf), rice pilaf, clams Lookout House style (delicious spicy breading on open baked clams). Dining companions enjoyed their entrees of chicken francaise and crab imperial, and instead of salads they relished clam soup (like Italian wedding soup base, with spinach). We ate leisurely--never rushed! And we had leftovers today! Service was perfect! Tia is a new server, and treated us well. Of course we'll return! read more

Fabulous food and staff. Hubby had duck breast, very moist. I had the filet mignon MR. Cooked perfect and practically melted in my mouth. Asparagus and glazed carrots served family style. Our server michelle was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend!! read more

Last year we had a wonderful dinner. This years experience was bad and we will not return. A simply thing like change out a vegetable, was not allowed. My wife does not like asparagus, we asked if we could switch out for any other vegetable on the menu - our waitress said no. So if you have any dietary issues you cannot go to this restaurant - for some reason they must not have the expertise. Starting with the scallop crudo. Taste is pretty good but a big fail on the textures. They have a beautiful raw scallop, accompanied with very tasty ingredients but they add a big hung of apple. You actually need a sharp knife to cut and eat this app. Julianne the apple into very small pieces - this will fix this dish. The tomato carpaccio is a fail, take it off the menu. The soup of the day was a big fail. The chicken stock, tomato corn shoots was tasteless. The duck: who cooks duck and doesn't crisp up the skin!! The preparation was really good, needed some salt. But serving duck with skin that was soft is a rookie error. The space is in a beautiful location overlooking the bay. They need to add some shades and the plastic widows have aged. Lastly our waitress was clueless. there is no way she eats the food she is serving or even knows what it is. Also she disappeared and we had to track her down too may times. I understand that these are difficult times for getting qualified help. But do some training. The low review was mainly for the food. OC has plenty of high end dinning and this place does not qualify. I hope they get their act together. read more

The $19.00 fish was so bland that we had to place pats of butter and squeeze excess lemon and salt to make it edible. Will not go back.
