I went here with my boyfriend and a few friends to see rob zombie. the concert was great, the campground was an unforgettable experience. when the concert was over, they were selling food for only like 5 bucks which was awesome, but that's about the only positive thing i can say. my friends and I had set up camp before the concert, little did I know I had a creepy secret admirer watching me from across the camp. When we got back to the campground after the concert, we heard a man walking around screaming and asking "who wants cocaine? does anyone want coke?!" Okay. Weird. We all got our chairs together (me and my friends) ready to have a fun conversation about the concert, when suddenly a scraggly scrawny and gruff man approaches us and inquires who the goth chick was. He offers the goth chick in question a free Rob Zombie shirt in exchange for their identity. Me, being the only "goth chick" there, will do anything for free authentic merch. I made a mistake and slowly, unsurely, raised my hand to reveal myself. He laughed a smokey and wet laugh and said, "I saw you bending over while you were setting up your tent, and I just have to say, boy did you give me a show," or something along those lines to a freshly 18 year old girl. And they say chivalry is dead. Even more shocking, he walks away clapping at me and spends the rest of the night sitting outside watching us. Of course, we told the owner of the campsite about this. He gave me free merch (campground merch, not Rob Zombie,) and offered us beers. I declined after he told me how i was a "beautiful young woman" and how the guy probably didn't know how to give "compliments." I walked away, wondering if a situation in which I would sexually harass someone as a compliment. The next morning, I wish I had been pettier. I thought about peeing in a cup (seeing as how absolutely putrid the porta-potties were, i know they are not supposed to be clean but I mean Jesus, this was bad. The stench absolutely permeated the whole campsite,) and throwing said cup of pee at creepy man's tent. Unfortunately, I'm a rational human being so I decided we would just leave. Anyways, the cheap food was great after one of the most awesome concerts of my life. But I would not stay here again. read more

We stayed for the MGK concert. The staff was incredible at the campground. Specifically, Ed made the experience feel special. We will absolutely for sure be coming back for a concert in the future at Ruoff and will stay at sleepybear. Love love love it!! read more

I agree with every positive review on this site about Sleepybear, Whatever they ask you to pay, please just pay it. Don't haggle, don't try to get into the place for free. His price is more than fair, it's actually a tremendous value. You walk across the street to sleep after a great show. Pete is a family man and an OG of Fishers and Geist. We should all be proud to have him and his family as members of our community. Pete was out on Geist before the first house was ever built. You couldn't get anywhere close to Fall Creek Bridge. Tree stumps and sandbars because it is a man made reservoir, not a lake! It was originally designed for Indy people to get water. Buy the merch and support a true Naptown legend. read more

The only good thing to say about this place is the location. We arrived after a concert, the owners/staff were drunk and wanted us to park our RV on their front lawn instead of the camping area. For $175 I was not parking on the front lawn. They were annoyed that I would not park on the front lawn and marched us to the back camping area, which is basically a field. There were no activities, or amenities. We felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. Locked the camper up and put up the shades for the night, then the owner came over and knocked on the door. I did not want to open it, he was still drunk. I told him everything was fine so he would go away. Good luck to anyone staying here. read more

First time I came here was 4 or 5 years ago. This is a fun place to hang out and camp and whatever. I have known Pete since I started coming out here. He is a super nice guy. Obviously the negative reviews have on this place are done by some drunken fool of some sort that was not behaving. Highly recommend this place and Pete. Two thumbs up and a snap! read more

This place is the vibe! Could not have had more fun with easier access to the show. It took me roughly 13 hours to commute my way out, worth ever second. Deer creek and sleepy bear were the jam! Can't believe this is the first review for this amazing, fun campground. There is NO other place to stay while seeing a show at Deer Creek (or Klipsch amphitheater or whatever they're calling it these days) it's a quick walk across the street. You can hear sound checks from your tent! The staff is very friendly and have bands play after the cool concerts (Phish!) so you can rage all night and there are no quiet hours. Get there early to snag the shady tree spots! I still have their window sticker on my car. Love it! PS. Watch out for those storms! They are viscous! This place got annihilated while we were there but the staff was very quick to warn people and very helpful cleaning up. read more

What a super fun place to go to before and after a concert. I love that you can just walk to Kliptsch. We have stayed here many times. It's a great value too, inexpensive for what you get. The staff is very friendly and the bistro was just what I wanted after the concerts. They get a bonfire going that is super fun, lots of people just chillin' out. We will definitely be back even more often this year...WOO HOO !!! read more

Love parking for concerts. For $20 it saves lots of aggravation of being patient in the long lines coming out of the amphitheater.

Favorite place to stay for shows at Deer Creek. My wife and I have stayed here for concerts twice after previously staying at one of the other nearby campgrounds. Sleepy Bar is where it's at! Not worth your money. Park Ranger Pete is one of the rudest individuals I've ever encountered. There are no real restrooms or sinks to wash your hands. This is not real camping. read more

My stay could not have been better. Its a clean, well run, fun place to camp. I felt safe, at home, and taken care of. A worker there made sure we had a place to sleep and made sure we got to eat even though we were a couple dollars short. This is the place to camp even if youre not going to see a show. read more

I'm not even going to use my real name here because Pete scared us so bad. We are from out of town and don't know the area. Desperately trying to get an uber ride back to our campground, we somehow wound up on Sleepybear campground asking for help. Pete at first demanded $50 and told us Uber doesn't come to his campground. We had almost no cash on us and felt like this was extortion. I just wanted to call a cab or walk out of there, but this Pete guy (who seemed high out of his mind) kept trying to scare us about walking and getting a cab or uber. Then, finally, he tells us if we give him an excellent yelp review he can get one of his guys to drive us for $15. As this all took forever and we were tired we relented and let this very nice guy drive us. The driver felt so bad he didn't even want to take the money, but since Pete knew where we were staying, we demanded he take it so we wouldn't get chased down. I think this place is run by a very crooked, drugged up man and feel terrible for how he treats anyone. read more

We LOVE Sleepy Bear! The location is perfect and the party atmosphere is great. You don't have to wait for hours to get to the venue or sit in your car forever trying to leave when the show is over - just walk across the street. Yes, it's a little pricy, but a DUI costs a lot more. There's security and entertainment after the concert, and a large bon fire to sit around. If you aren't there for a party, and want a quiet place to crash after the show, you should try and reserve one of the rooms inside the house, or look for a nearby hotel. People are there to have a good time and usually party into the early morning. We usually stay there when Jimmy Buffett comes to town, and were disappointed his concert wasn't listed on the reservation page. Hopefully Jimmy will be back next year, and Sleepy Bear will be accepting reservations for his show. read more

I wish i would've read the reviews before we stayed there. We went in our RV and it was my husband and I. We were charged $30 per person and $10 for our RV...plus an extra $30 per person of Two more. The minimum per camper is 4 people. CASH Only. So right at the start of the day we were out $130. OUCH! It is only a grassy lot with no hookups. Not real camping, just a convenience for concert goers, with the venue across the street. read more

Just had the best time staying at SBCG Suites. We brought all our own food to cook in their private kitchen, slept wonderfully, made great friends. Awesome time. Park Ranger Pete more than helpful. I would give this 5 star however their fees are ridiculous. My husband and I went with 2 other couples and we took our campers. Their site says $35 per person and extra for camper. So we expected $35 each, $10 for our truck we're guessing $30 for the camper tops. We get there and we were both charged double the per person fee because we were both staying in the camper. So it was $150 for 2 with a camper. Their site isn't clear on fees. Besides that the location is great to get to and from Klipsch and everyone can have a great time, no DD needed or worries of a DUI. So just be prepared to pay! read more

Bad vibes! Was yelled at to move our car while trying to unload several times. We had made a reservation 4 months ago, and were initially hustled about it. $70 a night for two girls looking for a safe place to pitch a tent for one night. They charged us $10 extra to park our car and we didn't get to camp next to it. Port a pots were very foul. Had a great show but a sketchy after campout. This was the sketchiest place I've ever been and I didn't even stay there! Some friends were camping there and we got an uber to hang out there before the concert, one guy said it was $30 a person just to go on the property, we asked if he would take $20 cash because that's all we had and the old man that worked there said it was only $5 to hang out! The other guy pocketed the $20 and told the older guy to shut up!! CROOKS. It is what it is. A great location to go to Klipsch Music Center and sleep. It is maybe a 10 minute walk from venue to our bed. No DUI please and thank you. If you want water and sewer hookups, keep driving. They have port-a-potty bathrooms, showers and food available on event days. One main fire, but don't allow individual fires on the ground. The staff were friendly and helpful for our 4 day stay (2 concerts). A fellow RV was stuck due to a rain downpour and "Park Ranger Pete" with his staff worked feverishly for 2 hours to get the RV free. We did not experience any previously reported "anger issues" from Pete. He was very calm, helpful and friendly. We will definitely be coming back for our next concert!!!!! read more

Great place to camp overnight if you're there for a concert across the street. No messing with concert parking. The staff was friendly and helpful, including this Pete the other reviewers hated so much. There are no hook-ups, so campers run their noisy generators. The toilets are portajons and not flushing, but there is a real sink with soap to wash your hands after. Don't come if you're not there for a concert.
