He prescribed me more CBT-I. It was in the goddamn referral that CBT-I had already failed. What a waste of my time and money. He also made a blanket statement "medication is never the answer." Not, "medication is a last resort", not "medication should not be used lightly," but "medication is never the answer." That's a religious statement, not a scientific one. When I mentioned my experience with CBT-I and how it made my sleep problems worse, he said he wasn't an expert on CBT-I. He literally claimed ignorance on a treatment he just tried to sell me. It would be as if an orthopedic surgeon had said "I'm not an expert on physical therapy." At that point you'd seek a different surgeon. I had to pry a sleep study out of him, he was resistant to even giving me a sleep study, saying I should retry CBT-I, a treatment that had already failed me once before. I ended up canceling the sleep study and saught treatment elsewhere with better results. I decided that given how poorly the doctor had listened during the session, I didn't trust him to actually interpret the results in good faith.

I was able to use techniques of sleep compression to readjust my body clock, and the results have been good. I should say something about my incredible sleep dentist, Dr. Gail Henry who made my mandibular advancement device. She is super-smart and competent but also warm and generous with her time and attention. Great Doctor. My CBT-therapist Dr. Scherer was helpful in introducing me to CBT-I and, as I said earlier, the overall benefit I received from him and this program was significant, and I'm grateful for that. Dr. Scherer himself I've found to be cold, a bit stiff, without a whole lot of relational or empathic ability.

DO NOT GO TO ANY CHICAGO ENT LOCATIONS…read more Quite possibly the worst medical professional office I have ever been to. I scheduled an appointment over the phone with a real person at the beginning of October for the end of November. I got a text a couple days before the appointment to confirm and I did. Not even 2 minutes later, I received a phone call from scheduling saying that they scheduled me with the wrong people and now have to change it. Okay, one mess up is not a big deal. Rescheduled to the end of December. I go in for my appointment at the end of December. I go in, talk about what's going on, I talk about allergies and hearing loss. The nurse then looks at me, panicked. "You had a hearing test for today? That doctor's not here today." So we continue with the allergy stuff. I then schedule a follow up at the front desk and RE-RESCHEDULE my hearing test for a THIRD TIME. I write down all the dates and times in my calendar and verbally double check with the front desk. She prints me an appointment reminder WITH 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TIMES THAN WHAT SHE TOLD ME. I go back in and show her and all she says is "yeah, that's correct". At this point, I've had it, I just walked out. Whatever. The next day I get a voicemail from the hearing doctor saying she was sorry that no one told me she wasn't going to be there. I called and left a voicemail with the administrative office manager asking her to call me back as there are some serious issues. I do not receive a call back from her AND STILL HAVEN'T 3 WEEKS LATER. Someone named Lincoln Harrison calls me, says he's the assistant administrative manager. He tells me these things should not happen again, he offered me a co-pay refund, and assured me that this would not happen again... OH MY GOD IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I go to the follow up appointment this past Monday. Have the hearing test, see the doctor about my allergies. Cool, good appointment. I go the front desk and schedule an allergy test and another allergy follow up in 4 weeks. Today (Tuesday), I get 3 separate phone calls from scheduling saying they're calling to reschedule my next appointment... I'm at work, so I can't answer these calls. I call Lincoln Harrison back and leave ANOTHER MESSAGE telling him about these issues and asking him for a follow up call that HE PROMISED TO GIVE ME OVER 3 WEEKS AGO. I get home and call scheduling back to see what the issue is. I speak to a woman named Jocelyn. She tells me that someone put in my notes that I called to change my appointment...NO I DID NOT. I then start asking her questions like "who is saying I want a different appointment, why is this a continuous problem, etc". I am not yelling, I am not cursing. I am frustrated, no one is giving me answers. She then tells me that I am being inappropriate and hangs up the phone. I have truly had it with this place. I will have my next 2 appointments and then I am OUT OF HERE. I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Public Health with dates, times, and voice mail and email evidence. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR HEALTH.

I did one sleep test with Dr. Park and she was immediately able to identify the problem and fix it. The majority of my complaint is related to a PA-C who I believe no longer works there. That said I hope Dr. Park has since changed her ways, and actually meets with patients past the initial diagnosis, rather than pawning rhem off on a PA-C, never to meet with that patient again. 2023: My main issue with Dr. Park is not seeing Dr. Park. Her website describes all of her accolades, but you only see the rude, condescending PA Jennifer DeGuzman once diagnosed. Dr. Park will help with the initial setup of establishing you as a patient but then you will never see her again. I requested to have at least an annual follow up with Dr. Park but was denied. I was a patient for a year, and decided I wasn't getting quality care from the PA. As a patient, you feel like Jennifer is just checking off boxes, and not actually seeing you as a person. She doesn't care about you as a human being. I was suffering depression after my aunt died, and was late/almost missed an appointment when Jennifer starts out the call with "You really need to work on being on time" and I couldn't even get a word in edgewise to say "my aunt literally just died". This is just one example of how she only saw me as how I affected her, her time, and her day, and had little concern for what I was experiencing or going through as a patient. Rudeness is only one factor. Being on controlled substances, there are insurance rules about how they are filled. Jennifer consistently filled my prescriptions incorrectly. It would cause continuous frustrations month after month. At times I would have to go without meds because it wasn't filled at the correct dosage and only was half a month's supply. At other times she would overfill my dosage to have more leeway in my fill time, but then lied to Dr. Park about why my dosage was higher and acted like I was dumb/confused/misunderstood. Finally, you can tell they don't care much when their patients depart. I canceled my last appointment and decided to leave. Somehow the gabapentin (a non-controlled substance) would still be filled for 3 months after I had left, even though I hadn't given them the updated bloodwork and hadn't met with them in 3 months. They just blatantly weren't paying attention and continued to fill Rx's for a patient they weren't actively seeing anymore. Quite frankly, I'm impressed patients stay. If you choose to go to Dr. Park for your sleep health needs, she will help you get a diagnosis. But beyond that, be prepared to deal with PA Jennifer Deguzman, who severely lacks bedside manner.

Definitely echo the other reviews so far on Yelp!…read more Kelly. Is. Amazing. We were having the hardest time finding a good nights sleep for our 9 month old. We read several books and found ourselves making some progress but getting confused as to the nuances of applying the techniques. All still never getting our kid to sleep through the night without waking up 2-3 times for minutes to hours. We were looking for someone that would help us and not follow a full-extinction methodology from the get go. After looking around at some yelp reviews, facebook mom groups, and Weissbluth sleep offerings, we decided to do a consult with Kelly. She did a phone consult with us to understand where we were at so that she could determine what approach we should best follow should we work with her. Kelly then scheduled time to come out to see our place and our nursery and to talk through starting the sleep training. She also provided a shared spreadsheet and sleep plan that she would follow and adjust with us as needed. We were apprehensive about how it would all go but we gave it a go and our little guy slept through the whole night on the first night. Kelly helped us have confidence in what we had taught our baby so far and how far we could stretch it to improve his self-soothing skills. As our 3-weeks with Kelly proceeded, we had weekly check in calls and were able to text her with any questions that came up as we navigated moving from 3 naps down to 2 daily naps and a slightly fluid bedtime. We're at the end now and while sleep isn't perfect yet, we now have a baby that sleeps peacefully through the night and has 2 naps a day totaling between 2-3 hours. He falls asleep in 10 mins or less after we put him down, sometimes as fast as 2 mins. We feel confident we can get his sleep even more predictable on our own now. Did I mention that Kelly. Is. Then I was recommended to visit Dr.Girgis. He took simple diagnosis steps. After my first visit I started noticing that I was breathing very unevenly, with obstructed flow on one side. On my second visit, Dr.Girgis pinpointed a suspicion and confirmed it with a quick CT scan showing an almost golf ball size cyst in my sinuses, as well as deviated septum. The cyst must had been growing slowly so I never detected a sudden change in my breathing. He recommended surgery to remove it and promised I will breathing much better afterwards. He advised that I will need to take a week off, and will take a few weeks to fully recover. I doubted that I will need a week off from my work, and we scheduled the procedure a few weeks afterwards. After surgery that went well and as planned (I was sleeping 3 hours or so), the healing process started. My nose kept bleeding but on the third day after surgery I experienced a short deep sleep that was the "Ah-ha! This is like it should be when you get a good night of sleep!" moment. I went back to work, and have aggravated my nose, and had difficult time coping with my constant nose bleeding that progressively slowly stopped by the 6th day. I was surprised when on the 6th day after surgery dr.Girgis pulled two 5 inch long plastic stems from my nostrils and a long draining tube... Hahaha. Two months after surgery my inner nose and its lining are almost normal, just a touch sensitive (well, the septum was cut and repositioned). At the end, it was all worth it. Girgis and all his staff were always very professional, and friendly. My breathing and quality of sleep has dramatically improved. And I got my life back, Big Thank You Dr.Girgis.
