I became of patient of Chicago ENT due to frequent nosebleeds. It was recommended that I go to Chicago ENT for a procedure to handle this issue. I originally had a different time and date for an appointment but had to cancel last minute due to a ridiculous amount of travel delays - I called and explained my situation and the office was very understanding and kind, which made all the difference to me! My appointment was very quick. Dr. Levy was helpful and gave me an overview of what would happen and advice on after care. I was finished and walking out of the appointment within 15 minutes. The clinic rushes you through the different stages and tests. At no point, does anyone tell you how much any of it costs. I have continued to get bills for 3 months after my visit. The staff is friendly and smiles as they rack up the costs without you being informed. They also ordered a CPAP for me that I did not approve. I received good care here, however, I have one observation. If you want to make an appointment, its best to go in, walk through the door and ask for an appointment. They do not answer the phones. Further, if you try to make an appointment through their web site, the screen prompts will ask for a lot of personal information, including insurance provider and your ID numbers. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE! Total cash grab, I was told my septoplasty was going to be $1000 with insurance and ended up getting charged $5000. I would like to also add that they charged my insurance $40,000 which is absolute robbery and can't believe they are expecting even more from me. The level of care is not worth it, sure Dr. Friedman has been practicing for years but you would never guess that given the surgical experience I had. They didn't even give me a gown to change into for surgery which I felt was extremely odd? They claimed it was a comfort thing but just felt like they were being CHEAP. Do not recommend this place at all. I was calling for parking instructions and I called up to the office on the day of my appointment as I had never been to this building before. The receptionist told me not to bother coming in because Dr. Adam Levy was going to catch a flight and if I was even a minute late the appointment would need to be canceled. The worst experience I have ever had with a medical office. Their office's patient management is absolutely infuriating, and the treatment feels like they are pressuring you into quick fixes, not providing informed care. I did a sleep study here and was diagnosed with sleep apnea by Dr. Friedman in 2023, after which I received an oral appliance from their in-office orthodontist. I stopped treatment with them for the first time because The Chicago Sleep Center, which is under their umbrella, was supposed to do a follow-up study and completely bungled my scheduling: they did not respond to my calls requesting an appointment confirmation, but their automated system texted me to bring three items for my sleep study. When I arrived, the nurse asked if I provided a fourth item that they did not list, which was a small plastic piece for the oral appliance that they easily could have had in the office. My whole appointment was cancelled, and the nurse on duty reacted like this happens often. When the office called to reschedule, they blamed me for not bringing the plastic pieces, and I was so frustrated I stopped care entirely. Two years later, I hoped to restart treatment and asked if I could get a sleep study done somewhere else and submit the results to Dr. Friedman. They told me to come in and said I could do another at-home study instead, after which I would have a telehealth follow-up to discuss the results. The telehealth follow-up was a repeat of the terrible communication at the sleep center. I had to call the day before to ask how the appointment would work, and I was told I would receive a phone call at the appointment time. An hour before the appointment time, I got a text telling me Dr. Friedman was "in my waiting room" with a link that didn't work and a voicemail telling me to call the office to "take care of my appointment." I couldn't even get in touch with the office because it was before their opening time at 8:30, so I just had to wait, fuming because I thought I had missed my appointment entirely. The next two hours was a back and forth about how my appointment would happen: they sent another link that didn't work, then said they would call, then eventually asked if they could FaceTime, which I'm sure is some sort of HIPAA violation. When I told the staff member who had left me a voicemail that I couldn't call him back because it was before office hours, he just said, "Oh right, I forgot about that :)" I couldn't help but just stare at him in disbelief over FaceTime. I could barely hear Dr. Friedman over the video call, and he told me my most recent sleep study did not show I had sleep apnea (???) and that he was recommending two "quick, easy" outpatient operations to address...something? I didn't know what the root cause was, and the visit summary notes were convoluted and listed multiple issues that he didn't mention over the call. I cancelled the appointment two days before because I really felt like I was being pressured into it. I was not notified of potential side effects, why I was having an operation, or even what operation specifically I was having, and when I called the office to ask the name of the operation, the receptionist couldn't tell me and seemed annoyed that she would have to put me through to the medical staff. I will be happily going somewhere else. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Friedman's office at the earliest available date, which was about six weeks out, following a referral from both my insurance provider and my primary care physician. In the weeks leading up to the appointment, I received multiple confirmation emails and text messages and completed all required paperwork in advance. When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that the office no longer accepts my insurance because they recently changed providers. This was the first time I had been made aware of this change. I asked why I hadn't been notified beforehand, especially considering the numerous appointment confirmations I received, but was given no clear explanation. The office even said they noticed this issue earlier in the day but didn't call or email me. Unfortunately, I had already taken time off work and rearranged my schedule to attend. I was told I could still see the doctor, but only by paying $500 out of pocket and other likely fees. The lack of transparency and communication gives the impression of highly questionable business practices. I would be afraid to be seen by a Doctor that runs his office this way and doesn't seem to care about his patients well being. I live just a few blocks away and I am a real person; this experience was extremely disappointing. I now will likely have to wait another six weeks or more to secure a new appointment elsewhere and just suffer. Thanks Dr. Friedman and your team. Staff at Halsted location are a complete joke. Called me to remind me about appointment and told me it was "tomorrow" when it wasn't! I show up for them to tell me it's Wednesday, how do you tell someone who can barely get any sleep and have them wake up out their sleep to go to this appointment just to send me home and see you tomorrow like you didn't just waste my time!!!! As a frequent sinus sufferer with recurring issues, I thought I would try Chicago ENT for my ongoing issues due to my limited ins. However, my experiences with this office have been beyond lackluster. There have been so many issues in just trying to speak to someone if you call. Sometimes your one minute estimated wait time turns into 20 minutes. Then when someone does answer it's dead air and you have to wait all over again to call back. Appointments are also scheduled before 8:30, but if you call before then the office line says that they are closed. Each phone call with staff is abrasive. One time I called to confirm an appointment because it was not reflected in my medical chart app. She said, "yes it is scheduled." Before I could even say thank you I had been hung up on. Each time I am here at the Halstead location for a follow up appointment, I have waited over an hour to taken to an office for Dr. Friedman. Over. An. Hour. That is just to be moved into an exam room. The front desk has a guide that says for Dr. Friedman he is to have double bookings on every appointment slot. That's a recipe for running behind. The exam rooms are old and their cleanliness is a bit questionable. However I do see the stag wipe down equipment before they use them with you. I've been stuck waiting about another 30-45 minutes before making contact with him. So make sure to take a chunk of your day out for an appointment with this office. Some of the nurses and medical assistants are nice and some lack personality. It's hit or miss. Dr. Friedman is a nice guy and I think his medical opinion is sound. He's the only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars. However, I feel he could spend a few extra seconds explaining things. He does make some jokes, but the entire office experience is so frustrating just to see him. If it weren't for Dr. Friedman, I'd give this place zero stars. I had to have an in office procedure here as well and it was okay because Dr Friedman did it. Since I was awake, I asked for more explanation of what he was doing and he was accommodating to that. That made the procedure less anxiety provoking. I always feel so uneasy interacting with the staff. While I'm stuck here a bit for my insurance, I'm spending my time also looking for a new provider while I'm always waiting to be seen at this place. read more

Plunging patients into medical debt without even explaining what procedures are being performed is profoundly unethical. To be clear: I arrived with a prior diagnosis of sleep apnea, printed documentation from a previous physician, and a record of being hospitalized for low oxygen levels. The physician I saw never even reviewed these printouts before shoving a tube in my nose and directing me toward a "scan" room. At the time, it all seemed routine, and I was told very little.... I waited almost an hour for what felt like 45 seconds of face time with a physician. Weeks later, I learned from my insurance company that I had undergone both an endoscopy and a CT scan, totaling nearly $1,000 out of pocket, and had been automatically scheduled for an additional $2,500 sleep study to "confirm" a diagnosis I already had. My actual questions about starting a CPAP prescription and learning more about Tirzepatide were never addressed. I read in another review that the sleep studies are actually outsourced to an operation reportedly run by a family member of one of the physicians. If true, that presents a serious conflict of interest and could help explain the aggressive push toward costly, redundant testing. This kind of billing practice is exactly why many well-insured people avoid seeking care for chronic conditions. There is no justification for performing high-cost, unnecessary procedures without patient consent or even basic understanding on cost. For what it is worth, the front office staff were very friendly and professional. It is clear they are not responsible for these practices. But someone higher up in this organization is profiting deeply by misleading and financially exploiting patients who are simply trying to take care of their health. If I am unable to resolve this through billing negotiation, I will likely be filing formal complaints with the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Attorney General's Office, and the Better Business Bureau. In the meantime, I would urge others to avoid this clinic altogether. read more

DO NOT GO TO ANY CHICAGO ENT LOCATIONS Quite possibly the worst medical professional office I have ever been to. I scheduled an appointment over the phone with a real person at the beginning of October for the end of November. I got a text a couple days before the appointment to confirm and I did. Not even 2 minutes later, I received a phone call from scheduling saying that they scheduled me with the wrong people and now have to change it. Okay, one mess up is not a big deal. Rescheduled to the end of December. I go in for my appointment at the end of December. I go in, talk about what's going on, I talk about allergies and hearing loss. The nurse then looks at me, panicked. "You had a hearing test for today? That doctor's not here today." So we continue with the allergy stuff. I then schedule a follow up at the front desk and RE-RESCHEDULE my hearing test for a THIRD TIME. I write down all the dates and times in my calendar and verbally double check with the front desk. She prints me an appointment reminder WITH 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TIMES THAN WHAT SHE TOLD ME. I go back in and show her and all she says is "yeah, that's correct". At this point, I've had it, I just walked out. Whatever. The next day I get a voicemail from the hearing doctor saying she was sorry that no one told me she wasn't going to be there. I called and left a voicemail with the administrative office manager asking her to call me back as there are some serious issues. I do not receive a call back from her AND STILL HAVEN'T 3 WEEKS LATER. Someone named Lincoln Harrison calls me, says he's the assistant administrative manager. He tells me these things should not happen again, he offered me a co-pay refund, and assured me that this would not happen again... OH MY GOD IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I go to the follow up appointment this past Monday. Have the hearing test, see the doctor about my allergies. Cool, good appointment. I go the front desk and schedule an allergy test and another allergy follow up in 4 weeks. Today (Tuesday), I get 3 separate phone calls from scheduling saying they're calling to reschedule my next appointment... I'm at work, so I can't answer these calls. I call Lincoln Harrison back and leave ANOTHER MESSAGE telling him about these issues and asking him for a follow up call that HE PROMISED TO GIVE ME OVER 3 WEEKS AGO. I get home and call scheduling back to see what the issue is. I speak to a woman named Jocelyn. She tells me that someone put in my notes that I called to change my appointment...NO I DID NOT. I then start asking her questions like "who is saying I want a different appointment, why is this a continuous problem, etc". I am not yelling, I am not cursing. I am frustrated, no one is giving me answers. She then tells me that I am being inappropriate and hangs up the phone. I have truly had it with this place. I will have my next 2 appointments and then I am OUT OF HERE. I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Public Health with dates, times, and voice mail and email evidence. In 45-minutes they racked up a bill of close to $19,000 of which, with insurance, is going to cost me $5,000 out-of-pocket! The ENT that I saw was Dr. TK Venkacesan, and quite honestly, I was not impressed. When it comes to doctor's appointments, I have been medically neglected by my parents and have been trying to play catch-up, and I write down lists of all the my pains and bodily experiences. I brought in the notebook and presented the nurse/tech that brought me in with the paper I had written down, and she took it out to him. Now, before even meeting or seeing me, I believe he had decided that I was faking or making it all up. When he entered to room, he set my notebook down on the seat and said, "Hey (first name), well I've read your story." As if my pain and experiences are just a mind-built story book that I made up the morning of the appointment. (My fiancé was sitting in the room with me, so all experiences also have a witness). For some background info without getting too in detail, I have 4 people just within my immediate family that have had to have their tonsils removed. At around age 9-10, I should have had mine removed however my mother chose against the surgery. He did not care for my family genetics nor did he care for the fact that I shouldn't even have them anymore anyways. He put a small camera into the back of my mouth with both myself and my fiancé watching the camera screen. One of my tonsils was visibly a bit larger than my other, and all he had to say was that they were a normal and healthy color, there's nothing to worry about. There were also visible spots on my tonsils, however my fiancé and his mother believe those are just the beginnings on small tonsil stones. The outer part of my neck, where my tonsils and salivary glands are, my right tonsil/salivary gland area is swelled to shit and my left is slowly following suit. He briefly felt the areas and said it was all just neurological, that my salivary glands were just swelling a bit, and that there was nothing he wanted or was willing to do. Firstly, body parts don't just swell and inflame when nothing or wrong with them. I'm sure his tiny little powertrip doctor brain can wrap his dismissive mind around that. Secondly, there's pinging pain that I told him about. Things don't have pain when nothing is wrong. The normal amount of pain that a person should be experiencing day to day is zero. So many god damn doctors know and say this, and if he thinks there's nothing wrong and nothing to fix, I don't believe he should have a medical license. I worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) at 2 different nursing homes. When there is pain, something is wrong. And I'm not talking about a quick fleeting ping that appears once and that's all there is and nothing more, that's different. However I have a daily constant pinging pain in the areas that are swelling, which means there's damage. That's common sense in healthcare, I fear. I also mentioned to the tech/nurse that I was technically referred by my primary doctor for tinnitus, however I also had that concern as well and thought I might as well touch both concerns since I was already seeing an ENT. He mentioned absolutely nothing of my tinnitus, not one word of it was mentioned. He was in, he dismissed absolutely every single concern I had, and he was out. I didn't have an opportunity to bring it up to him on my own. However he had the list, he read through it, at the very top, the very first thing talked about my tinnitus of both ears, and he hadn't even touched the subject. That being said, I will be finding a second opinion, and I'll be looking more thoroughly at reviews before wasting time, has and money on a doctor that focuses more on thinking he's right than listening to his patient's concerns. I am completely unimpressed with him, and will never be returning to the ChicagoENT at 2845 North Sheridan Road, Suite #807. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere too, if the other ENT "specialists" are anything like him. $400 for less than 10 minutes to be told it's a neurological problem. Nerve pain. No questions asked, no concerns voiced. I've also read many other reviews of just that one doctor I saw and was absolutely appalled at how many things I've seen of malpractice, abuse and predatory behavior. TK V tends to have a lot of the same behaviors of being incredibly dismissive, saying there's nothing wrong and it's all in your head, nerve pain he won't do anything about and a lot of the reviews seem to describe a lot of my same experiences with him. I have attached images of reviews I have found just on the one doctor I met with and this isn't even all of them! This is just a few! FUCK this place and FUCK these so called "doctors". I'm going somewhere else for proper care where doctors at least do the bare minimum, which, by the way shouldn't be something hard to find. read more

Dr. Shepard is one of the best doctors my family and I have ever encountered. He has so many pearls of information he shares with each visit. He cohesively and clearly pieces together complex information and diagnoses. My kids love him!! He is patient and never hurried. I would and do, drive hours for his expertise. TK Venkatesan Chicago ENT - Halsted 3000 N HALSTED I was referred to this office by my primary care physician. I should have known about their services because it took almost 6 weeks for me to see someone. After my initial exam for my tinnitus I was given an order, not a referral, for a MRI. When I requested a MRI location I was told that I had to find one and that all I needed was the order. I was then given, by a different specialist, a hearing exam. When the exam was finished she told me that they would know more after my MRI. She was surprised that I had not been given a referral or location. She left the room and when she returned gave me a MRI location on a handwritten scrap of paper. I got the MRI a week later and the results were sent to Chicago ENT. Did not hear from anyone for over a week even though I had left 2 messages on their online site. I called their office and was passed to someone who answered general questions. The woman was very polite. Said she saw my messages and would check with Dr. Venketesan when he came in the next day and would call me back afterwards. She called me back and related to me what he told her about my results. I never had any professional conversation with any doctor over my results. There is nothing about my MRI on their website. I also have not received any written summary of my results or written advice as to any future course of action. I requested that my MRI results be sent to my primary care physician and was told they would be forwarded. Chicago ENT talks a lot about their years of service and their personal care for their patients. What a joke! I did receive a notice for a $25 outstanding amount owed. read more

I was supposed to he given my shots as well. the nurse made a mistake and only had one ready instead of two. she was giving me the wrong dosage. good thing i corrected her. oh and the doctor did not perform an examination whatsoever. read more

I had a horrible experience with Dr Friedman. He checked my throat with a tool and was really rough. He also wanted me to get the implant for the apnea and I wasn't comfortable about that. I had tests done and they never called me back about the results so I called the office and they told me to come to see him. He entered the office and didn't even say hello. So unprofessional. Then he told me that he couldn't do anything for me. The visit lasted less than 5 mn when he could have done it virtually (the office insisted to come not to do it virtually) I left the office really upset and crying. I was referred here by my dermatologist for a skin issue in my ear. The ENT doctor was in the office for less than five minutes, only briefly looked at my ears, and gave me a prescription which I realized later was the same medication my dermatologist had prescribed. I later went to my PCP and got a much more thorough examination and more effective medication. The Chicago ENT doctor wasn't rude, just brusque and I have no desire to ever return to this office. That's why I asked my PCP for help instead of attempting to get help here again. I just expect a new patient visit (for which they charged my insurance company the max amount ) to last more than five minutes. I don't think that's asking for much. Their online portal to pay your bill is the opposite of user friendly and I thought the receptionist was rude, but maybe they were just having a bad day. I had surgery roughly one year ago, to repair a deviated septum and shrink sinus glands. After all this time, I would say my breathing and sleep are roughly the same or even slightly worse, but that doesn't bother me so much, since you hear this happens from time to time. Whenever I met with Dr. Friedman, I just always felt so rushed. It seems like he has appointments every 3 minutes, and didn't provide nearly enough time to handle questions I had. About 3 months after our surgery, I met him virtually, and he didn't even ask how I was doing, he immediately told me the next drug to take. Extremely frustrating. I really wanted to like this place and I did, at first. But I ended up transferring both myself and my son's care from Chicago ENT to Rush, where we both have had much better care. Dr. Friedman is very kind and friendly, but that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. The waits are insane to see him (they're always running very behind), and I ultimately lost faith in his recommendations. After putting me on multiple rounds of intense antibiotics that gave me awful side effects to try to clear a sinus infection, he ended up recommending a major surgery for me to "fix" a prior surgery I'd had. That didn't seem right to me, so I went to two other ENTs for second opinions and both of those ENTs reviewed all my scans and thought the surgery recommendation was completely unnecessary. I also repeatedly asked Dr. Friedman to culture the mucus in my nose to try to figure out what was causing my year-long sinus infection, but he told me that was not possible absent a surgery. Maybe he thought I was asking him to culture the actual tissue or something, but when I changed ENTs, the new ENT immediately cultured the mucus and prescribed a targeted treatment that finally got rid of my infection. I was really upset that I spent months and months asking Dr. Friedman for a culture that could have helped me, but was repeatedly rebuffed. I also got immune system testing at Chicago ENT and was told everything was fine. But then I took those same test results to an immunologist at Rush, who said that only a partial panel was run; a more complete panel revealed that I needed a specific vaccine to help my immune system. So, another big thing missed. One last thing: probably the worst part about Chicago ENT, and the fact I ended up switching my son as well (who had 2 surgeries with Dr. Colman, who did a good job), is the fact that you can NEVER get in touch with the doctors outside your appointment. They have a messaging system online through the portal, but the doctors themselves do not monitor those messages or respond to them. They go to a triage line instead and that person will call you. The guy who always called me was probably the most patronizing and rude person I've ever talked to in a doctors' office -- and not just once, every single time. When I called to report adverse side effects to a drug that Dr. Friedman had prescribed, the triage nurse (a med student) told me that what I was experiencing was impossible and it was in my head. LITERALLY SAID THIS. When I asked Dr. Friedman's physician assistant at an appointment, she confirmed that what I was experiencing was in fact a known side effect for some people. That's just one example, but I had multiple reasons to call with questions over a few months and every time I had an enraging interaction with triage (including one time he advised me to give my one year old son an OTC medication that is clearly contraindicated for under age 2; just totally irresponsible). There was never any way to report this guy for his rudeness and borderline malpractice either. I finally sent a message to Dr. Friedman telling him I really wanted to speak to HIM, not the triage guy, because triage was always really rude to me and I had genuine healthcare questions. Guess who called me about my message? Triage guy. So... yeah. Honestly, partly switching to get away from that guy. read more

Just spent about 30 minutes waiting on the phone to book something. Spoke to someone and let them know I had an injury and needed the next available appointment. I have Ambetter IL insurance, which I know isn't accepted by most people, so I mentioned that I would need to know the out of pocket price. The person on the phone cut me off and said "Since you have medicare, we are not accepting out of pocket payments." One, my plan isn't medicare. It's just a bad marketplace plan. Two.. What are medicare patients supposed to do if they have an urgent issue? I think we all know the answer, is the system doesn't care about them. But for Chicago ENT to take it a step further and not even ALLOW people to pay out of pocket for needed care? Stone cold. This was after waiting on hold listening to a loop of testamonies of how much Chicago ENT "cares" and how their patients are not "just a number". read more

Paid my $30 co-pay and the dr assistant wanted to know if I was here for my CT sinus scan results which I got last time. I said no sleep study results. Zero Stars. 1. Witnessed one of the receptionists totally diminish a client on Medicare. It was not necessary for her to berate the woman in front of a full waiting room for losing her card. 2. Waited for 30 minutes to be seen. Dr. Levy shoved a tube in my nose and told me that I had a lot of fluid in my sinuses. No shit, Sherlock. He told me he would not prescribe or treat me until after I was given a CT scan and then he would follow up. 3. They made an appointment for a CT scan 2 weeks later. WTF? That did not sit well with me. I have been coughing up a lung for over 2 months. I called back and canceled. I consulted with another Otolaryngologist. I was totally misdiagnosed. I had Whooping Cough. After 10 days of Z pack, I am finally back to myself. Meanwhile, I was charged $425 for "surgery" and $150 for a 5-minute visit. Save your money and avoid this place. read more

Initially I was fine with my experience at Chicago ENT. That is until the bills started arriving. The bills give no clear detail what they are for. Foolishly I started paying them. The last bill was SIGNIFICANTLY more than I was quoted. I called the number on the bill to ask someone in billing about it. After being on hold for some time the system asked me to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. No one has. I wonder why they bother putting a phone number on the bill if they don't answer the phone nor return messages. If you want transparent billing and a responsive team, you should go elsewhere. read more

Waste of time and a whole lot of money. The front desk people are rude, and too busy eating their lunches to get the scheduling of patients right. I finally got in to see someone, was ushered in and out by the doctor who didn't listen to my symptoms or history or why I was there, and got charged over $600 for them to tell me I have a deviated septum. The follow-up visit for an allergy test never even happened because they had to keep calling me back to say they messed up my schedule. Not good, do NOT recommend. read more

We have been seeing an great pediatric doc at ENT specialists of Illinois for one of my twins and had a great experience, but wanted to try Chicago ENT, for a very common issue for the other twin, because it was closer to home. The entire experience has been worse, between rude staff (if you can get someone on the phone) and a doctor that was not listening to our issues. I've now been trying to obtain his medical records for 3 weeks and in the meantime my 2 year old can't breathe at night and is the real one suffering. In hindsight I really wish we would have stayed at ENT Illinois read more

I am honestly shocked that this facility has not been shut down due to medical malpractice complaints. This practice performed a sleep test on me and did not inform me that the results came back with evidence of sleep apnea. Not only did I not receive the results of my test indicating a medical condition, or receive any follow up communication, but this practice then sent my bill to debt collections without notifying me through phone or mail that I had an outstanding balance. After calling about this balance, discussing concerns of their communication with patients and informing them that they failed to run my insurance that I provided them with in my intake paperwork, they adjusted the balance with the debt collector that they had sent me to. Still leaving me with no communication about any balance owed through their office. The fact that I went into that office seeking help, and left with a diagnosis of sleep apnea that I had to find out through my GP pulling files to try to find, as well as a debt collector and marks on my credit for a bill that I did not know I even know I owed, is absolutely abhorrent to me. I am truly disheartened by the level of care and communication that I received at this practice and will be filing a formal complaint about the mishandling of my care at this facility. read more

Coming here was seriously such a waste of time and money. After dealing with chronic strep throat and tinnitus (ear ringing), I decided it was time to go get it checked out. I'd be referred to go to the Halsted location and felt hopeful that I would finally get some answers and relief. Upon my first visit, I was told that the doctor could only check out my throat and tonsils and that I'd have to schedule a second appointment for my ears. Ok, no problem. After getting my throat checked, I was quickly told that there is nothing they can do for an adult with enlarged tonsils as the surgery could be more harmful than useful for the ongoing strep throat issues. Not what I wanted to hear, but I understood the deal. The doctor then recommended that I take an at-home sleep apnea test (still not sure why) and I obliged. I then had to schedule a THIRD appointment for the following week to get my results. I should have seen the red flags here. Upon my second visit to get my ears checked just two days later, I was rushed through a hearing test and found out that my hearing is just fine, BUT, there is nothing they can do for tinnitus. They recommended I should look into getting a white noise machine at night to cancel out the ringing sounds. I had to contain myself from laughing at the doctor's face because I could have spared my time and found the same answer on Google. Upon my THIRD visit to go over my sleep apnea test results, the doctor told me that I had very mild sleep apnea and that it was not something he is worried about. He proceeded to tell me that someone my age (mid-20s) doesn't need to use a sleep apnea machine at this point, unless, of course, I wanted to. Surely I didn't want that, so I declined and went on my way. I didn't receive any sort of help, clarity, or answers, but I did receive three HEFTY bills as a nice little cherry on top. I have no problem paying the money, and going to follow-up appointments, but I have a serious problem with this office that wasted my time, energy, and money for literally zero answers. This place was such a waste of my time. They paired me up with Dr. Friedman who spent less than 5 minutes with me, prescribed medicine for insomnia, touched my neck & said "I don't feel anything" and said I should see their insomnia specialist instead. Ok, why didn't they just schedule me with that specialist in the first place? Also, he didn't state what medicine he was prescribing and it turns out they never sent it to my pharmacy anyway. Dr. Friedman's profile says he specializes in sleep disorders but I feel he only specializes in sleep apnea because he was only interested in if I was congested or snored at night. He did not ask if I have any questions and was pretty quick to scoot out the door. read more

Dr. Michael Friedman, Lauren and Violet were very professional, efficient, caring and respectful from the point of initial diagnosis, through the procedure, and subsequent follow-up visits. The front desk staff were also very welcoming and efficient. I would recommend this practice to anyone in need of a sinus check up or procedure. read more

I saw Dr. Friedman at both the Skokie office and the North Halsted office. He is a wonderful and caring physician. His staff--from the front desk in both places and the assistants who worked with him--was terrific as well. I was stunned to read so many one-star reviews--did they really go to the same place? When I first called, I was in a panic; I was missing a lot of work because of an ear infection (airline job--can't fly with clogged ears) and the receptionist went above and beyond to fit me in quickly. After the first appointment, they were able to get me in for several follow-up visits rather quickly as well. I am now 100% and back to work. I received excellent care at Chicago ENT. I entrusted my career to them. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Love the doctors here. Dr. Levy is compassionate, knowledgeable and very personable. The issue I've had since I started going here five years ago is that the waiting room is usually packed with patients, and I've never waited for less than 30 minutes to see the doctor. Other patients in the waiting room said the same thing as they also waited with me three weka ago. One woman said she thinks they over schedule doctors appointments on purpose. I'm typing this as I'm waiting 45 minutes for my telehealth followup appointment to start. I would think an online appointment might be on closer to on time. Again, zero issues with the doctors but huge issues with scheduling staff. read more

Dr. Venkatesan is completely unprofessional and should be evaluated for his ability to practice medicine. During a recent visit with my mom, he stormed in as if he was under a time constraint and treated the patient as just another transaction. After attempting to provide local anesthesia for the patient, he promptly proceeded to operate without giving the anesthesia a chance to take effect or without even confirming with the patient if it worked. Without any explanation to his actions, he used a scalpel to slice open my mother's nose to remove a cyst, all while she was screaming in pain. To which he responded, "I know it hurts" and continued the operation without any regard for the patient's wellbeing. This type of behavior is unsafe and unethical and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. read more

Saw Dr Levy, his bedside manners are impeccable, in fact he has this skill down to science. But actual care, not so much. He was on time, smiling, touching you on the shoulder and asked what the issue was. After looking at my ears and mouth he said "everything is great, just as expected "... But would I have come if everything was really so great?! He was in and out in about two minutes (not an exaggeration, I happened to look at my watch just before he got in). He referred me to the audiologist who was not in on time, so I had to wait for half an hour for her. She did a pretty thorough test, but couldn't pin down the actual cause. After that she suggested that I try acupuncture... I almost lost it, I had thought these people were serious medical scientists. read more
