I have been trying to get control over food and my eating habits for several years especially after finding out I'm showing signs of insulin resistance. My doctor told me I was on the path for Type 2 Diabetes. I heard their special on the radio and decided to make an appointment with Rene to check it out. My husband heard another special on the radio and thought he would sit in on the meeting. After chatting with Rene, both of us were sold. Brandi and Rene worked with my genetic mutations and my dietary needs to create a plan that works for me. My husband barely ate vegetables before joining Slim4Life. The ladies at the Shawnee location are incredible. If I was getting frustrated because my body plateaued, they always had suggestions and methods that got me back to losing weight. If I was starting to have my anorexic or binge eating triggers, they were right there keeping me from getting off track. I know the biggest complaint is the money. I stressed that to Rene within our first 2 meetings that money is tight. No one has tried to guilt, force, or pressure us to buy any of their products. They firmly stick by us wanting us to lose weight and take advantage of the weekly sales if we can... otherwise, stick to your plan, you will lose the weight! I will say that the products do help, but the biggest help is the accountability. Life got busy for me and I wasn't able to make it in. I got a phone call checking in to make sure I was okay, and didn't want me going off plan after coming so far on my journey. The accountability is priceless for me. I can't say enough positive things about the ladies at the Slim4Life Shawnee Mission location. The ladies are genuinely happy to see our transformation. I am wearing clothes that I received as gifts years ago, but I had always been too big to wear. I am currently the smallest I have ever been since trying to lose weight... my middle school weight. I am 5lbs away from goal, and I should hit it soon which will make me the smallest I've ever been. My husband is already at goal. Both of us wanted to lose 35lbs. I wasn't sure if it would be possible, but it's happening. If you want to change your life, and gain control over food... have a healthy relationship with food, check out Slim4Life. If you are having health issues, they can customize a plan for you. If you recently had a baby, they can create a plan for breastfeeding/bottle feeding Moms! Lastly, after losing the weight, the program isn't done with me. There is a whole process of reintroducing foods and life after your Slim4Life plan to keep the weight off. This is the most exciting thing to me because you hear all the horror stories of losing the weight, but then it comes back on fast, if not more! Follow the plan, it works, if for whatever reason you stop losing as fast as you'd like, the staff know how to re-kick start your metabolism into gear and get you going again. 20 years I went to Slim 4 Life and lost 30 pounds and kept it off for many years. Over a period of time, I got older and my metabolism slowed way down. I started to put the weight back on. After several years I have managed to gain enough weight to become physically uncomfortable and cause health issues. I came back to the Shawnee Slim 4 Life two weeks ago and already lost 5 pounds of my 40 pound goal. Slim 4 Life is a lifestyle change, not really a quick weight loss program. If you follow the program as it's designed, you will lose on a safe, gradual basis. My average loss is about 2.5 lbs per week and works best when I prepare all meals at home. read more
