On 10/14/22, I met with Nadia at Aurora Medical Weight Loss and discussed the available options for weight loss. At that time, Nadia explained that I had the option of receiving a single dose of LipoLean (referred to as LipoLean Injection in the clinic handout), or pay extra to receive a double dose of LipoLean (referred to as Extreme Injection in clinic handout). After deliberating, I decided to purchase the Extreme Injection (double dose) and paid a total of $294.99 for a weight loss panel, a one-month supply of Phentermine, 4 Extreme Injections, and a LipoLean Injection and every Friday afterwards, I returned to the clinic to receive my weekly injection. Because I received the injections in-house, I didn't pay attention to the ml/cc administered by the clinician. On 11/11/22, I returned to Aurora Medical Weight Loss and purchased 3 months of the single dose injections of LipoLean (as opposed to the double dose injections of Extreme that I had purchased the previous month) and paid a total of $389.97. I also decided to administer the injections at home myself, instead of doing them in-house, and was given a one-month supply of LipoLean Injections (4 needles) to take home. It was at this point, that I discovered that each needle only contains 0.5 ml/cc of LipoLean which is only 1/2 of the compounding pharmacy's dosing protocol. According to numerous compounding pharmacies including Modern Medical and VPI, the dosing protocol for a single dose of LipoLean is 1 ml/cc and the dosing protocol for a double dose of LipoLean is 2 ml/cc. Even more alarming, patients are required to pay extra to receive the Extreme injection which is supposed to be a double dose of LipoLean equal to 2 ml/cc, but they are only receiving 1 ml/cc. By only giving patients 1/2 of the Lipolean product they paid for, Aurora Medical Weight Loss is doubling their profits, stretching their product, decreasing each patient's weight loss per week, increasing the amount of time it takes each patient to lose weight, and keeping these people as paying customers for a longer period of time than they would need if they received a full dose. This is not only an unethical practice but may also be a form of medical racism. I have requested a refund of the amounts paid so that I may seek treatment elsewhere and am being ignored. I am planning to report this clinic to the Department of Regulatory Agencies and alert the media if I have not received a response by December 2nd.

As an adult, you go into situations by choice- if you omit or don't ask a question or concern in your appointment, it's pretty convenient to then use the internet to publicly denounce how it "should have been done." So, I encourage any negative reviewers to rethink their posts and perhaps intent. Make your observations and have your opinions; I just have a very strong dislike for the assumptions made in previous posts as they are serious, unfounded and have to do with a woman's ability to be accurately viewed. I always give the business another chance to redeem and love when they do. Do not base on one interaction or an experience that perhaps you didn't disclose info in. Tangi would not happily own and work this business tirelessly if her intent is to hurt people- that just needs to be known- she cares. They are not doctors nor do they actually understand hormones and the effects they have on your body. I had labs done here just out of curiosity (no major symptoms) and Tangi called to tell me my body is producing no hormones at all and I need to go on therapy asap. I care about my body and quickly signed up for a year of therapy ($2500). She put me on progesterone and testosterone and I thought all would be well. Fast forward 5 months and 2 pellets later (I was 33, for reference)- I had gained 8lbs without changing my diet or exercise. I no longer had my period and in fact had several symptoms of pregnancy which totally freaked me out. I was exhausted and moody and my hair was thinning. The people at Rocky Mountain just kept on with the labs "you're right in the normal range, so it can't be this." I finally got a second opinion who looked at my lab results and they were absolutely shocked. Not only were my starting labs perfectly NORMAL to begin with, but now I was off the charts high on normal testosterone levels for women. And the progesterone they had me on was way too excessive and was causing the pregnancy symptoms. I did not need this therapy at all. Looking back- yes, it was odd that Tangi never asked where I was in my cycle considering that progesterone varies throughout the month. Yes, it was very odd that she literally crossed out the normal testosterone range on the labs and wrote her own range in. Yes, it was odd that she did not like when I asked questions. These all should have been red flags for me, but I was so excited to get some answers and help that I didn't do my own research. I quit the therapy half way through. I asked for a refund and of course with the way the package is set up, there is no refund after you lose the discount on the year. Learn from my experience- do NOT allow these people to experiment with your body. Hormones affect so many of your bodily systems and these people straight up do not know what they are doing. Go to a real doctor if you need help. *they do have PAs and NPs on staff and like I said- very friendly and good with scheduling.
