This bar is pretty decent, in all honesty. However, that my bartender added extra tip on my credit card receipt is completely unforgivable. Once I realized it happened, it made a lot of sense why they never offered me a customer copy when I closed out my tab. They offered me a cash refund for the full tip that was charged, but now I have to go out of my way to pick it up. Credit card-paying patrons, beware! First time going here was a lot of fun! The drinks are a decent price. The line was not long.Good time with friends and the music was great! Second time, was there this past Saturday and it really changed my mind about the place. The music is still great, they know exactly what to play to get the crowd going. But it is way too hot and crowded with people. My friends were getting pushed and no one was saying "excuse me" or caring. It was like I was at a crazy concert.My friend got shoved by this girl "dancing" and almost fell over and she did not apologize. So disrespectful and almost kind of aggressive. The atmosphere has changed. The dance floor is fun, cool red lights, but too many people to even dance. Though the drinks are not too expensive the bartenders are not good. Went with a girlfriend for the first time last night. We're from a small town where dive bars come by the dozen. We felt at home and there were good vibes all around. The bartenders were courteous and quick-- a major plus considering the place was packed to the brim by midnight. Beers average $5 and I think a vodka red bull costed only about $8, killer price for the city. I will be back to this spot for sure! read more

I moved to Logan Square almost 8 years ago and I feel like I'm 1,000,000 years old when and if I "go out" in the hood. I've had the pleasure of going to the original Bonny's (Bonys), the second generation Bonny's and now Slippery Slope, the newest incarnation. Love the red, cocktails are good, skee-ball is a nice and fun touch. Asked for a martini, they actually said "we're not that kind of bar." You mean the kind of bar that doesn't have gin? Woof! High Life $4/10 oz! Smallish canned beer list with some holes. Bartenders and managers need to clean out the tap lines for draft beer because the drafts have the nasty, distinctive smell of dirty tap lines. The mugs are dirty too; they taste funky with only water. The bartenders are nice and friendly, probably because they don't make the drinks on the drink list to order- they're prebottled, so bartenders shake, open, and serve. The drinks are tasty tho. The place gets way too full, and when the dance floor filled up with so many people standing around or standing in line for the bathrooms (the line inexplicably snakes through the middle of the dance floor: come on bouncers!), it wasn't much of a dance party, which is what the place bills itself as and what I was looking forward to. Bouncers and managers need to let fewer people in, prevent a bathroom line thru the dance floor, and kick out rude people who are pushing/shoving or pouring drinks on strangers. The DJ had potential, but blew it by playing songs that are good for high-pitched scream-alongs rather than songs good for dancing. Tips for your visit: don't wait in line if there is one; don't drink any draft beer (dirty tap lines and dirty mugs); get a canned beer or bottled cocktail and find enough room to dance; if you encounter rude drunk people report them and avoid them; wear foam ear plugs in case the DJ plays several Blink182 songs to which most of the bar sings along at the screechy tops of their lungs. read more

The drinks was so watered down! It's like a hot basement party where the pipes are leaking and the walls are sweating. Other reviews said it was a photo booth, we didn't find it. The skeeball was in the front but it's so crowded you can't even really play. Upstairs they played dusties and it was nice, breathing room, boring if you looking for the party crowd but nice if you actually want to talk and chill, looks like a good place to host a private party. read more

Great service. The speciality drinks are very original. It is a little expensive but well worth for the ambience. The bottom and top floors have a different vibe so it is worth it to check out both. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! EVER. I had my iPhone stolen there two weekends ago. When I told the staff about it I received these casual, uninterested responses: "Oh that's the second one tonight...." "Yeah, it happens every weekend." "He usually gets three or four on the weekends." I understand these things happen unfortunately and could take place in any bar anywhere. Last night I went to Slippery Slope with a group of women to drink, dance and have some fun! The visit was short lived after a man groped my friend and she felt so uncomfortable. When he walked outside he looked at her and started pelvic thrusting before coming back into the bar. I told the door guy about the incident and he went and told his manager (which was the right thing to do and we appreciated him). His manager went and talked to the guy but said there was nothing they could do as the guy wouldn't admit it and didn't want to leave. This is exactly why women don't report sexual assaults. I wish management would've taken that further step and removed him even if it did make a bit of a scene. They were very polite to us but it was clear they valued maintaining a certain vibe in the bar over making my friend feel safe. We won't be back soon. read more

I went to Slippery slope to try their famous Blueberry beer. My friend and I went to Boston last year and had an amazing blueberry beer there from Beerworks. Sad to say that Slippery Slope did not compare. It tasted like they put their cheapest IPA and then put blueberries on top. I was not impressed, but couldn't beat the price of $4. I loved the prices at this place. The cocktails were very strong for the price which I really liked. The DJ was on point too which was nice. He played some old school hip hop and R&B. I have never even heard of this bar before, but I am now a fan. They have skee-ball at the entrance and even if you don't win any tickets or prizes and it costs $1 a game, they still have skee-ball at the entrance! On top of that, the DJ was playing all of my favorite R&B and Hip Hop, from old school to present day. The bartenders are friendly, especially this guy John, he's cute and recommended a great rum for me and humored me and my flirtatious friends for the night. I was too busy having fun to even notice how much drinks were, which to me is the sign of a great night. To top it all off, they have a photo booth in the back to help you preserve the memories of the night. I love this bar, I love this bar, I love this bar. I'll be back. read more

Loved this bar! We went here for a friend's birthday, and it was a great time! A little bit of a line, but it moved quickly and it's to be expected since the bar just opened. If you want to dance, go here! My friend and I got here early, around 8, to avoid the lines. We were greeted by a lovely bouncer, who complimented our outfits. He had me at "you look nice tonight". The place was pretty much empty at that time, but it allowed for a great seat at the bar and top notch service as we basically had 1:1 bartender to customer ratio. I had heard about the plastic bottle cocktails, but was feeling like more of a beer night. I almost couldn't believe it when my friend spotted a $2 beer on the drink menu. I was skeptical to commit to it so I asked for a sample. i know, don't judge me. It wasn't that bad so we had ourselves about 5 beers each and walked out paying no more than $15 (including tip). When your tab is less than the cab to get you there, that's an accomplishment! The DJ is phenomenal and the dance floor filled up fast. This place is way to crowded. It is advertised as a dive type bar with a great dance floor, which I could see if the bar was a lot less full. We waited in line for about 30 minutes before we got into the bar. Once inside it took us a few minutes to push our way through the shoulder to shoulder crowd. This place can get pretty packed. The later you go, the more likely it is you'll have to wait in line to get in (but the line usually moves pretty fast, so it's not that bad). Drinks are fairly priced. DJ is on point and plays an awesome mix - not just the usual Top 40 stuff. To give you an idea of the variety of music played, on the same night we've rapped to Biggie's "Juicy", belted out to Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone", and repeatedly said "Dale" and called ourselves Mr. 305 pretending to be Pitbull as his songs played. Dance clubs really aren't my thing, but I came here with a friend for her birthday and had fun. I came in with really low expectations, especially since I didn't like Bonny's at all, but it's bigger, the bartenders are nicer, and the place doesn't smell like shit, so that's always a positive. The only problem I had was the door guy was a complete douchebag. My friend and I were waiting for some people to leave so we could get in. We were next, so my friend asked the guy if he wanted to check our IDs now, that way when some people left, we could go in. He told my friend he'd check our IDs when he wanted to, with some major attitude. I guess I'd close by saying that I didn't have any issue with anything being too loud. It's a dance club after all, but maybe my hearing isn't what it used to be because of that kind of thing. read more
