We chose Top of the Town (TotT) as the site for our 40th Wedding Anniversary Party. Our party was…read morefabulous. First, the location is fantastic. The Iwo Jima Memorial is directly opposite the Top of the Town building. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the Potomac River and have views of all the significant buildings in Washington, DC. The inside is spacious - we had 92 guests seated at ten tables, and there was plenty of space for the dance floor, drinks table, and dessert table. We also took advantage of the outside patio because we had great weather, and after sunset, many of us went outside to watch the full moon rise. Catering was provided by Genesis Delight Catering, a company that has experience serving food at TotT and knows the kitchens. The event staff at the TotT are experienced and friendly and will ensure that your event is the best it can be. We enthusiastically recommend this event space. Sheridan Dalier, the event coordinator at TotT, provided generous assistance before our event when we were in the planning stages. She was friendly, experienced, and very helpful. When we learned we could hire Sheridan to help us during our party to take care of the final set-up, last-minute fixes, and any surprises, we gave an enthusiastic "Yes, please." For example, she ensured the audio-visual system had the correct cord to show our slides. She kept track of the gifts we received. She handled questions and requests from our guests. We opted for the virtual only option (as opposed to having a person on site)... we did this for cost reasons primarily, but it worked out perfect for our team (even though we had nearly 40 people), and we really didn't need day-of support. Based on the responsiveness for our coordinator leading up the event, and the fact that a helpline was provided to all participants in the app during the hunt, I felt confident that if we needed any support, we would have it. The customizable aspect of this is probably my favorite part... we got to add in clues specific to our company, team, etc. I was provided the clues in advance to review, which I appreciated, and that didn't spoil the hunt for me as I was still able to compete (and didn't even win!). Another great thing is that you can see all of the photos and videos for all the teams from the event... and you are provided a link to them even after the hunt is over. We have had fun going over these and saving them. We will have laughs to come because of this teambuilding activity.

To our shock and surprise, WE WON! Following our win, Taylor & Hov designed and executed the perfect wedding for us. Not only did it provide us the opportunity to work with some of the best vendors in DC, but Taylor & Hov's creative talents far exceeded our expectations. When we first started our wedding planning, we had only a vague idea of what we wanted. Despite this, Sugar was able to create an event which really spoke to our personalities. We spoke to her about our mutual love of music, and she found a way to incorporate this into every aspect of the day, with programs made of records and place settings created out of cassette tapes. Moreover, during our highest stress moments, Sugar and Nar saved the day with their eagerness to help with both large and small details, from changing the venue at the last minute to putting together a signature cocktail that our guests still won't stop talking about. The play is a 10 out of 10. It's a love triangle story that takes place in 1940's Chicago at a jazz club. Joey is a young ambitious entertainer looking to make a name for himself and has to choose between true love or being bought by a rich baroness who can easily fund his dreams. The dancing and singing is electrifying and steamy, the story is told well and highly engaging. On Wednesdays they've added a complimentary jazz concert from 6:15 to 7pm that takes place in the lobby with seating. Check out Arena's lineup, they are procuring amazing work this season.

This trip to Arena Stage was for Step Afrika Holiday show!…read more We picked up our tickets from the box office and explored some of the season decorations in the lobby. Took some quick pictures with the tree and the arches, then got our tickets scanned and went upstairs. Lots of pretty decorations for the season - one large Christmas tree and a bunch of smaller ones above glistening with white lights. The show was in the Fichandler Stage, which has seats 360 around it - not a bad seat in there! Step Afrika!'s Magical Musical Holiday Step Show was fabulous! They handed out maracas and other noise makers upon entering the theater. We were in Row D on the North Side, which was amazing seats! The show ran for 90 minutes without an intermission. What a show! The talent of these artists are top notch!! The rhythm, the choreography, the music, the energy, the skill, the talent, the props were so impressive! They get the audience part of the fun throughout the show with the noisemakers, chatting, dance battles, and even two opportunities to join them on the floor to learn some steps! This was my first time seeing this show and I certainly can see how it's a tradition year after year for so many. You can tell all the hard work and dedication of this cast! Bravo to them!
