Laundry done well. Delivery service is awful and inconsistent! Daughter of owner is rude and unwilling to help! They lost my business.

They are excellent! I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have been using them for 20 years and they have never lost or damaged any dry cleaning. Really excellent work and they are always so kind and helpful. They also do wash and fold laundry. Because I've been using them for so long, it's hard to come up with specific examples--I just rely on them for good work and they always come through. I heard about SLN from a friend & after trying a few others in the 'hood, this one was the best by far. They pick up + deliver laundry, for a great price compared to the competition. My laundry came back smelling great, folded + they even separated my lights, darks + delicates! The dry cleaning is impeccable as well. I had a few winter coats, jackets, etc., cleaned + I even got a discount for bringing more than a few items. I wish there was another location in my new neighborhood!!! read more

I didn't get the 20% off coupon mentioned below. But I've used SLN Cleaners a good 5-6 times now, and have had a fairly decent experience. They weren't able to make any of my more tricky stains magically disappear. But in general, they clean my normally soiled suits reliably in 24 hours and offer a convenient pick-up and drop-off service for no extra charge. On one occasion I had my clothes picked up on Friday afternoon, and asked for them on Monday. Monday morning, when I called for them to be delivered, I was told they would not be ready until Monday afternoon. I had not specified an AM delivery, and I know they're only open for a half day on Saturday, but I was pretty upset, considering every other time I'd been, delivery was ready the next morning without my specifying, and in this case they had even more time (Friday afternoon- Monday morning), and that they also had not said I should expect otherwise. We had a pretty tense conversation on the phone, since they had all my suits and I needed to go to work. However, they called me back shortly after our first conversation and told me that they would recall one of my suits from the off-site location and deliver it within the hour. I very much appreciated the gesture, and told them it was unnecessary and that I had arranged to work from home for the day. Overall, it works. It's close, convenient and pretty competent. I also appreciated the willingness to try to go the extra distance in resolving a dispute when I was also at fault. read more

I have been using SLN for years (5+) and they have always been awesome. I've had pretty much every service: wash/fold, dry cleaning, tailoring (they are INCREDIBLE - I had a vintage dress taken in 2 sizes and it was done flawlessly), pick/drop off...and every time, they have done a great job. Whenever I call for pick up and within 20 mins, they are there. They always drop off within a reasonable amount of time (2 days or so). Just this morning, I had my laundry dropped off and a sweater with a hole fixed (again, an incredible sewing job). As long as I'm in this part of the city - these are my go-to guys! Sadly, terrible. Never again. I've brought my more basic skirts and dresses to be dry cleaned here and never had a problem. I brought in one of my favorite dresses and when I got it back there was a HOLE right in the front. Bad enough, but then they handled it worse: Their initial reaction was that it was suspicious that I had noticed the hole so quickly (but it was front and center and certainly something that was not there when I asked for it to be laundered and we looked over my dresses for stains). Then they said that they could take no responsibility because they send their dry cleaning out (but how can you take no responsibility when dry cleaning is a big part of your business?). Finally, they offered to fix the dress, but I would far prefer to take it to a nicer place that will do a good job. It's sad because they were super convenient, but I'd rather pay a little more and have a dress I can wear at the end of the day. read more

I've used SLN for over 5 years. When they're good, they're good. When they ruin something, they go 180, and become incredibly dismissive in their defensive denial. Wash and Fold: I've never noticed they lost anything of MINE, but I have found articles of clothing that don't belong to me in my laundry. So I definitely know they lose people's clothes. Also, they are very lazy when it comes to pick up and delivery. That's not a huge problem, but it's annoying. Dry cleaning: I've had many things dry cleaned over 5 years, so undoubtedly you run into problems. I'm not the type of person that gets angry over ruined clothes, they are just belongings, no reason to spoil your day over it. HOWEVER, if you ruin my clothes, please be honest enough to meet me halfway. Own up to it, and don't make me pay for ruining my clothes. When they ruin something, they just deny, deny, deny, and hand you the bill. I realize their fear is, "If I own up to ruining your clothes, you might expect me to pay for the garment." I wouldn't. But I also don't want to pay you $50 for ruining it. Shame on me for not learning after they ruined two of my garments, I kept going there. Eventually, they ruined a third. When I pointed it out, they just shrugged their shoulders, gave me a nasty look, and asked me for my credit card. read more

I've been using SLN for my regular laundry/dry cleaning for almost 4 years and always been satisfied. There have been a few times when my laundry hasn't been ready when they initially said it would, but that's definitely the exception and not the rule. I've used them for some pretty significant alterations and have been very pleased. Most recently I brought in a bridesmaids dress that was about 4 sizes too big (not sure why the bridal shop was thinking when they insisted I needed that size...) and had some complicated ruching/embellishments. The tailor was straightforward with me - given the complicated construction of the dress and how significantly ill-fitting it was, and the fact that I needed it ASAP and could only do one round of alterations, she was worried that she wouldn't be able to get a perfect fit but would do her best. The dressed turned out really well - the bust line was still a little off, but you couldn't tell by looking at it. It also ended up costing much less than I had expected, which is always good! read more

After moving to the UWS, I started using SLN per a neighbor recommendation. Of the four times I used them, I was disappointed two of the four and overall unhappy with the experience. On my second time using them, I had requested my clothes be brought back the next morning however I did not receive my clothes until 48 hours later. I'm fine with it taking longer, but would have liked SLN to be transparent with me about the time. This past week, I utilized wash and fold for all of my white linens. I had one pillow case come back completely discolored, but only on one side. It appears as if it was set on something while wet and rubbed together. This would not have been the upset, however it was how they handled it. When I called, I was informed that under no circumstances could they have done something wrong. The discoloration on my one pillow and two wash clothes must have been something I did on my own to that piece of laundry for it to change colors. While the wash and fold was decent the few times it went well, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and lack of responsibility on SLN's behalf. I gave my clothes twice for a regular laundry and never had any issues. Everything came back nice and clean, folded. I also gave them a suit with a huge wine stain and they manage to clean and remove completely the stain! read more
