They do a good job and the tailor is AWESOME. However, pricing feels capricious. I've literally been charged three different prices for the same silk tank and they always charge over double for my 'couture' items. I mean, à Tom Ford dress or standard Burberry Brit jacket are far from 'couture'. Feels like random pricing, especially when they charge me standard pricing for Victoria Beckham and Altuzarra items. It's like they just willy-nilly overcharge for designers they can identify. This lady doesn't appreciate being customer segmented into potentially price insensitive; I'm not. I'm very value oriented, and the price/value offered here is very low. It's going to be cheaper to Lyft to an old cleaner in Greenwich Village, WV or Williamsburg that are all similar quality. I brought in my wedding dress - a sample I bought for a really good price. It was incredibly worn from the natural wear & tear of being a sample. It was really dirty at the end of the train from being tried on and dragged around the store, to the point that I figured the tailor would have to trim that section off. Even worse though was that the dress is a gorgeous delicate silk with a really beautiful shine to it. The wedding dress store said they sent the dress to a different dry cleaners who did not properly clean the dress and actually damaged the silk. So the silk from the sample became very dull and made the dress seem even more worn. Bridgestone Cleaners was recommended to me by the wedding dress store. They said they now dry clean all of their dresses for their store at Bridgestone so I figured they must be reliable. To be honest, Bridgestone exceeded my expectations. The train came out spotless. They even used a special process to bring the shine back to the silk!! And they rush finished it for me in a week. They were also very communicative throughout the process. The one downside is that it was very pricey ($850, prices start at $450 for wedding dresses). This was my dream wedding dress that I wasn't able to pre-order and they were able to salvage the sample so for me it was worth it. Highly recommend if you have a specialized dry cleaning need! read more

I just had a most unprofessional and unexpected experience. I took 3 items tied in a plastic bag. I explained that I wanted to have the items drycleaned due to moth damage. I was instantly treated like I was completely disgusting! I understand that moths are very problematic (which is why I brought the items bagged) but I would have expected to be treated with professional courtesy by a professional business. I was told they could not mix my items with other ones - fine. But when I asked for a price, they refused to give me any information other than that they would charge "30% extra on whatever the cost was." I said okay but I needed to know the basic price because I can't afford to not know how much something will cost. The man who identified himself as the manager said he could not tell me the price because he could not open the bag to see what the items were. I said I could tell him the items and they could give me a ballpark idea. He continued to insist he could not give me prices until after they were cleaned. The entire exchange was incredibly unprofessional and upsetting. I also had my baby with me, which made their treatment of me feel more insulting. I eventually said never mind, I would go elsewhere. It was clear they did not value my business. I had explained I had recently set up an account there as I moved to the neighborhood. It's disappointing to be treated like this in an area where all other businesses seem to respect their local customers. I really don't understand it. It is not unreasonable for a customer to want to know how much something will cost before booking the service. They also didn't help me with the door either on the way in or out. A handful of staff people there and seeing a mother with a stroller and no help. I will not be going back. This is unfortunate because I had a couple items serviced by their tailor who was amazing and kind. I ended up going to a different drycleaner a few blocks away and had a completely opposite experience. not only did they ruin an item weeks before, but they then tried to charge me an excessive amount for having a luxury item. it was a sweatshirt with a brand name they decided was expensive enough for them to try to squeeze more money from me. when they ruined my luxury item they offered no reimbursement so this extra charge has nothing to do with the risk theyre taking just what they can get out of you. if you live in the dumbo area use one of the call in services. you dont want this headache. read more

After more than 10 orders now between me and my partner, our clothes have been delivered on-time 0 times. I don't mean a few hours late, I mean 2-5 days late. The tailor is amazing at this location however the girl with the curly hair who works at the front desk has terrible customer service skills and I leave annoyed every time I interact with her. I wanted to use a coupon from their pamphlet they offer and because it wasn't my "first" time coming in, she said i was not able to use it. I told her there was no where that it stated for new customers only. Ill be avoiding this place from now on and taking my dry cleaning and tailoring somewhere else. it is a bit pricey and I've gone to them of the convenience of how close they are to my home, however it's not worth it to me anymore. read more

We've been using Bridgestone Cleaners for 10 years. The group there no is our favorite. Kim and Ashley are always super friendly and eager to help. Ola, the manager is very welcoming and helpful. Pablo and Luis are extraordinary. I need alterations often. Pablo is my main man! He is so good and professional. He makes sure everything is done perfectly. To top it off he is a sweetheart. When I first came in, I was tripping over the hem but after alterations were done quickly, the dress fit me perfectly. Pablo, Wendy, and Julia are absolutely incredible! When my bridesmaid dress came in completely the wrong size, I was worried it wasn't fixable. In fact, the first tailor I went to said it was too complex for them! When I went to Bridgestone Cleaners, they immediately knew what needed to be done. They found a way to alter the dress to a perfect fit without comprising the look of the dress in any way and was able to do it in less than two weeks, well before the wedding. After a fantastic wedding day, I was looking for a reputable business to clean my Monique L'huillier designer wedding gown. I was nervous about the state of the dress due to the rain on the day and the stains I had acquired. Stains included dirt and water marks all along the bottom of the dress/train from dragging on the rainy New York streets, accidental pasta stains from dinner, what seemed to be bird stains (lol) from the steps of the NYPL, and movement in and out of vehicles. I researched online and came across Bridgestone Cleaners, conveniently located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. I was impressed with their reviews and how high the business was ranked. I called to inquire about cleaning services and was introduced to Ola, the Gown Preservation specialist. From the minute I inquired, Ola was prompt with his responses, professional, helpful, and courteous. I knew that my dress was in great hands and decided to proceed. Fast forward to after the cleaning and...WOW! Like a whole new dress! I couldn't believe my eyes. No dirt. No stains AT ALL. Just a pristine wedding gown! Since I had decided to go ahead with preservation as well, I wanted to see the dress before they boxed it up. Ola took care in presenting my dress and putting my mind at ease. Let me just say, I am one HAPPY BRIDE. I truly thought I had damaged my dress forever, but rest assured with Bridgestone Cleaners' 40 years in the business, you are in wonderful hands! I am very disappointed to write this review. I tried Bridgestone years ago after first moving to Dumbo and stopped going there after a poor experience that I can't recall. I decided to give them another try a few weeks ago and had cleaning and tailoring done. One pair of trousers came back from the tailor without the matching belt. As I should have expected, they placed the blame on me, saying they never had it. I'm not sure why they think I am inclined to lie, but they certainly took zero responsibility. Prices are more than double what I am charged anywhere else. For example, $11.95 to dry clean a pair of wool slacks and $15.45 to dry clean a cotton blouse. Even the tailor price gouged me. I had a hem come loose on of my pant legs, they charged me $13.00 to sew it back on. Moreover, they lost an expensive pair of wool slacks. I tried several times to phone their office about it. Each time they said they'd look in the store and talk to the driver, and I never heard back. Avoid Bridgestone if you care about being charged a fair price, or if you care about doing business with a company that values your property and takes accountability when they make a mistake. read more

The conversation began suitably. Zach, the manager, opened with an invitation to try on the dress and talk through the problems with him and the Tailor. So that's what we did. There were 4 main problems with the work. In order of severity: the dress now felt a full size too small; stitching done on either side of the dress was off-balance (one side higher than the other); there was a mysterious brown stain on the back; the collar tag was halfway ripped off. Our original ask was to repair about 2 inches of broken stitching and to do a dry cleaning. So receiving back a smaller, lopsided, dirty dress was not acceptable. Zach displayed zero empathy, let alone attentiveness to what we were saying. After repeated explanations of the problem, including photos and video taken the previous day of the exact same dress in the exact same size that illustrated how the dress *should* look, the conversation took a turn... Zach admitted shoddy workmanship happens, but he can't take responsibility for it. In his words, "I have people coming in all the time saying we've messed up their clothes. What do you expect me to do?" Zach presumes his customers are crooks. He said, "I know you had your heart set on us giving you a new dress when you came in here." The Tailor, to his credit, went into problem-solving mode. Inspecting the problem areas of the dress, the Tailor pointed out that "this is not original material here," the implication being that more work than what was originally asked for was done. Further, the Tailor wasn't even sure at first if this was his work at all: "I don't remember working on this dress. Was it sent out?" [presumably to the Cobble Hill location] Zach promptly corrected the Tailor, and he dutifully fell in line: "Okay, I worked on this dress." Zach's entire approach was accusatory. He was fixated on how the dress was damaged in the first place, which is irrelevant: whereas the focus of the conversation should have been on how he and the Tailor could remedy their shoddy workmanship, instead it became a conversation about body size, he said / she said / you said, maybe All Saints makes bad dresses, etc. Zach deflected all responsibility. The Tailor, however, appeared genuinely interested in solving the problem. He inspected the work, took measurements, and began brainstorming on how, given the current state of the dress, he could further alter the dress to achieve the desired effects. That was appreciated and we tried to continue steering the conversation that way. Zach, the manager, caught onto the Tailor's solution-oriented approach, said he wanted to move forward with us, and pitched us an offer: they would alter the dress for free and have it ready the next day. Well, it took some doing to get to that offer, and we accepted, but Zach just wouldn't let it go. He went back into defensive mode, asking how the dress was damaged in the first place, why we thought it won't get damaged again through normal use, how we think dresses get damaged in general. Zach's whole argument rested on body size, and his message was clear: You're too fat so you ripped your dress; now fat girl doesn't like how she feels in it; so fat girl wants a new dress. In the end, it was me who dropped the first f-bomb: "What is with the interrogation? What just happened? We just agreed on our go-forward plan! This is f*cked up!" Zach snapped at that point, grabbed the dress away from the Tailor's table, and refused to help us in any way. "You know what? How about we do nothing!?" he said. We left the store. The total lack of respect, problem-solving attitude, and customer service is what will keep me from ever going back to Bridgestone Cleaners for anything. To be clear: don't go to Bridgestone Cleaners for anything. To tie a bow on this, some quick googling today reveals more similar stories. Quotes about the business from other Yelpers: "If you insist that they did a lousy job and that they should honor their guarantee, the owner himself will call you a "cu*t", tell you you need to get "F$@ked in the a**" and then, I kid you not, throw your dress into the middle of the street!" "...instead of dry cleaning it, they washed it and dried it shrinking in by as much as 20%. This owner is such a jackass. He admitted to everything, and would not take responsibility for any of it. He would not replace the pillow or reimburse me. He wouldn't even return the money for the dry cleaning." "Never once was I offered a discount, and the staff was totally unsympathetic." I live a few blocks away from Bridgestone Cleaners and brought my dry cleaning here for about 6 months. I finally gave up on this place because the quality of their work was so poor and the customer service so bad. They charge a good bit more here, but if the service had been fine, I wouldn't have minded, since it's so convenient to my home. But several times I had to bring things back because they weren't done right the first time. I had garments come back unpressed, smelling bad, or covered in mysterious fuzz! Never once was I offered a discount, and the staff was totally unsympathetic. Now I go to the place down the street, and haven't had a single problem in a year. read more

Quality is good, but that should be standard for dry clean. My reason for only two star is the shocking price. I sent some summer clothing for dry clean, and they charged $19 - $21 per dress, and $16 per top. My previous dry cleaner in Tribeca charged $10 per dress and $7 per top, so I guess when I moved to Dumbo, I also moved to "ridiculous-priced dry cleaner" neighborhood. I mean I get the whole green dry clean, but $20 for dry cleaning a summer dress!? You might as well just rob me. read more

I genuinely appreciate the consideration he took in my concerns and how he went above and beyond to help rectify the situation. I feel that he genuinely cares about his customers happiness and satisfaction. I will say, despite the steep pricing, we have always had a good experience with the quality of the cleaning and packaging and I trust they won't lose my items. While I may not return for basic cleaning/dry cleaning just due to the pricing, I will likely be back for alterations as I can trust this business to take care of my items and do a great job in execution. read more

I learned tonight that bridgestone charges MORE than 50% for hemming jobs when compared to other shops in the neighborhood. I was quoted $21 to have my pants taken up (when plaza cleaners was willing to do the same job for $10). Bridgestone also offered to clean my suit jacket for $13 (versus plaza cleaners' mere $7... the whole suit is $12). Nice people who dry clean just fine BUT- jeez louise- rip off city! Hard to justify supporting a place that thinks it is ok to charge such absurd fees. read more

I've come here on a couple of occasions and yes, they charge a little more. But for the sheer sake of convenience, I keep returning. Honestly though, they've never failed me. On one occasion, I needed my husband's suit, dress shirt AND tie to get dry cleaned that day because of a last minute funeral that we hadn't anticipated. I'm updating this review to a 2 star They helped me find my favorite pant but still lost about 10 or so items. Just a warning: they send the clothes to another company and they mix the clothes up a lot! I had to dig through another person's laundry to find some of the things - :( ---- Well, I'm sad to say that they lost almost all of my clothes and gave me someone else's. I'm disappointed because I have been a loyal customer up until this point and they have been so lovely... I would love to change this review if they helped me find them but I have called a few times and no one on staff has given me any leads. Sigh... all my favorite pants are gone! (and hey, it's hard to find a good pant!). I've loved using them up until this point but after this major mess-up, I don't think I can risk having all my clothes disappear again. read more

I have to say this is the best dry cleaners and tailor I have EVER used. I recently moved to Dumbo from Manhattan. This place is way cheaper than MME Elenors in Midtown and they do a way better job. They really do each shirt by hand and they dont kill my clothes. If you are looking to save money and dont love your clothes then maybe this isnt for you but if you love your clothes like I do then this is your place. I also want to say that they have a real tailor over there. Most other places have people that just say they are tailors. This guy fixed a satin bomber jacket like new for me. Best cleaner's in town! I've had so many bad experiences with other near by cleaners.. so I was very nervous to drop off my wedding dress - because, well, it's my gorgeous wedding dress!!! Zach, the owner was very patient and sweet with all my (non-stop) questions and the dress came back beautifully cleaned and preserved. I'm so happy. Afterwards, I took them my very destroyed uggs s, and they were able to remove the dried salt too! This is my new to go to dry cleaner. I want to like these guys - they are just around the corner from my apartment. However, I can't because they just aren't so good at, you know, cleaning. When I first moved to the neighborhood in 2011, they ruined a silk Tibi tunic of mine. I could never wear it again because it smelled so bad. Wanting to give them another try today, I dropped off a shirt and they told me they couldn't clean it. It's a shirt from Zara.
