I chose to paint a small bowl (pics to come if it turns out). I love crafty things, but sometimes my execution isn't the best. Their prices are more than reasonable. It is a brightly-lit, high ceiling building that has a collection of artwork (for sale!) from multiple local talents of various mediums. I went in to look, but walked out with 2 multi-media oil painting-newspaper pieces from an artist named Holly whom I even got to meet! It was incredible to get to chat with her about what inspired her to create this kind of work. Then at checkout, my eyeballs deceived me by wandering to some cool glass-blown plant stick decorations that were made from the last Disney glass blower. So, I, of course, *had* to buy a couple of those delightful beauties! Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming; there is much to look at and much to do there; it is also a place that has many giftable items if you have a birthday or holiday coming up or need some walls to fill. If I had more time, I would have stayed and participated in the self-paced $10 watercolor painting project that was setup in the middle of the hall. Heck, I could be here all day!

There's beautiful paintings, drawings, graphics, sculptures, pottery, photography, jewelry and more. Our favorite was YIN PING ZHENG, he specializes in traditional Chinese brush painting & calligraphy. His paintings were AMAZING! They were very affordable, all originals, even the small ones. They're made with watercolors on rice paper. He demonstrated an art piece for us, he had so much control, he made it look so easy. We ended buying 2 vertical paintings of plum blossoms which included frames. He was so humble, nice & friendly, he even offered for us to sit & he let a lady sit & wait for her daughter to pick her up. Make sure you drop by to say hi & check out his art pieces!!

The show starts just after the boardwalk and lines the Cabrillo Blvd. I learned that this show is every Sunday from 10:00am-6:00pm. The show features arts and crafts including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pottery and more. It was a delight to talk to the artist about their work in a very causal setting. Truly some unique pieces of art can be found at this show. Definitely worth a stroll if you are in town and heading to the beach. Parking can be found on Cabrillo Blvd or in the public parking areas. Note summertime can be very busy and tough for parking.

They have pottery wheels, benches, glazes and kilns plus classes and workshops so you can learn how to do pottery. It is harder than it looks but worth the effort. I can finally center my clay! Yay, I got it, my second time through a Wheel I class. You need to try things a few times to get them, at least I do. I big thanks to Jared for his teaching. Now on to opening the clay . . . learning could take a while. Still, if you have any interest in pottery, you are lucky to live in Santa Barbara. As for the workshops, we tried the Raku Workshop and it was awesome. I don't think you can go too far wrong with that as you don't have to make the bisqueware. Listen to me using pottery lingo. Anyway, you can buy a pot to glaze and the Raku drama is available. So fun!
