How it was so buttery and crusty and the vegan sausage was flavored well! What a find! Spanakopita was another gem! Packed full of spinach and cheese and pretty hefty! It melts in your mouth too! Sweet: Caramel nut brownie like bar. It was dense, sweet, and had a nice chew! Good but not my fav! Nanaimo bar was sweet and very soft! Really good bar! Caramel bar was all our favorites! We ended the meal with a dark chocolate namelaka (a type of soft biscuit) and a sticky toffee pudding, both beautifully presented. There are only 3 restaurants in Saturna Island and this one was located close to the ferry terminal and the menu looked great! We also had the pleasure of having brunch the next morning and eggs benny with thick-cut bacon, tomato and a cheese sauce over sourdough bread and the asparagus omelette. You can really taste the love that are put into the dishes! The portions are generous, the food is lovely and often local, and the prices are affordable. Saturna Cafe is an "Island Gem" for sure!

He opened the door, and then said, "What would you like?" As we looked over the cabinet with all of the baked goods which clearly were from days past with the exception of the four new English muffin sandwiches, we decided it wasn't a good idea to eat breakfast here.
