It appeared she was new and didn't know how to complete our order so had to ask the cook to help with the cashier machine. We 'tried'' to order a Reuben we were going to split, a cup of soup, a side salad with blue cheese. It took my myself and my husband repeating the order half a dozen times for them to understand our order. Even though they listed to add a cup of soup or a side salad on the board , that isn't what they charged us and gave us. Instead, they gave us the large dinner, salad and large bowl of soup for additional cost. We didn't want that much food.. Instead of a side salad with blue cheese they gave me a huge Caesar salad! When I tried to return it. The cook said I didn't mention I wanted blue cheese. I explained I had mentioned it to the girl '''4 times''' that I wanted blue cheese """side salad""" . He said he would check with his manager. Then They said they'd fix it. They didn't 'fix it' instead they returned the same Caesar salad like I would be fooled! Worst part was the Reuben sandwich had two tiny slices of meat on it! Obviously these two people working the counter are oblivious to working in the food industry and understanding a simple order. They should be relaxed with people who know how to take, and fullfill a simple order, without 'lying that they'd remade the salad with proper dressing'. For a 34??? lunch I expect better food at a 4.8 YELP rating restaurant. So who's giving all these great reviews? The owners? the workers? 4.8 is not accurate.. having worked in the restaurant industry for a decade in my 20's it's surprising when a customer has such a poor experience. Don't waste your time with this deli. It's so subpar it shouldn't be in downtown Brentwood bay! Oh And focaccia was stale, inedible! Overall I'd give this deli a 'MINUS 5 star'''. Now I have to go and find another lunch place as I couldn't eat the Caesar salad, and the sandwich was pathetic. It wasn't worth our time and money. There are some public restrooms nearby if you walk down the pier a bit. The cafe shares a location with what appears to be a whale excursion/souvenir shop. It's clean and has plenty of seating. I got one of their specials, smoked salted maple. The espresso is smooth and the drink doesn't seem to be all ice. I will say I couldn't taste the maple, like at all. All I tasted was salt. I didn't end up finishing it due to this, but I'd be willing to give it another try if I find myself back on the island.

We ordered a few lattes made with their in-house syrups, and every single one of them was incredible. We loved them so much we went back for them again and again over the weekend we were there. We also tried their chorizo burrito and donuts, which were both outstanding. I honestly want to go back to the island just to eat here again! The ambiance of the place is awesome. It is super kid-friendly outside, featuring a wonderful yard with plenty of toys and things to do, which makes it incredibly relaxing for families. At around $15 per bowl, the portions were shockingly small--only about a quarter full with five banana slice and three strawberries. one bowl was missing almond butter. The protein* smoothie couldn't be made properly because they were out of the protein powder. They offered to substitute collagen instead - not the same thing but ok. no discount. no acknowledgement. I understand that restaurants run out of items occasionally, but between most of the menu being unavailable, the outrageous price for the quality of the output, missing ingredients, and the complete lack of an apology or acknowledgment, this was a very disappointing experience.
