I've been here multiple times to check out Cibi Cibi food truck but tonight David Childers was live with his backing band and they put on such a great show. I've been wanting to see him for such a long time, so many near misses and tonight was the nite for a great show. Made even better when James & Molly who live about a mile away were able to join me. Parking lot is small so you have to get creative with the grass when they are busy. Ample seating inside and out. Great beer selection. Free water. We decided to enjoy the gorgeous weather by hanging out at this local brewery, featuring a fairly spacious patio. I'm not into beer, but enjoyed a pretty good Cider...while my husband seemed to love his beer of choice (Pale Ale?). I don't think this brewery features food, but on Fridays, there's always a food truck or some catering service by the patio. Tonight, they were featuring BBQ Pork, Roasted Chicken and various sides by Carolina BBQ and Catering...and we thoroughly enjoyed their BBQ Pork with Macaroni and Beans. As the name suggests, the decor of the brewery plays on its "Card" theme. Very cute and gimmicky! Overall, it's a cool, little hangout (though very lofty and spacious in its own way?)...both inside the brewery, as well as out on the patio. And of course I'm no beer connoisseur, but they seem to offer a great variety of brew. If you're ever in the Rock Hill area, check it out! read more

Cool space, tap room is open to the brewing area. there is a nice longish L shaped bar, and lots of tables. The service was pretty good, even though when we went the place was pretty packed. They don't serve food, but there was a food truck when we were there. The beer was great, we got to try a few but they were not interested in letting you sample any beers before you order. Excellent blackberry sour beer. Extra fun and tasty prosecco with a popsicle is a must try. Truly enjoyed this brewery and all the brews were our favorites along the YoCo trail. Of all the breweries in Rock Hill, Slow Play has become our favorite. It has the right combination of quantities of beers (usually 12 made onsite), quality and varieties of beer, friendly service, and atmosphere/vibe. Add in the occasional live music and a big patio area, and you have a winner. The staff is attentive and they know their beers. If you are not a big fan of craft beers or have not tried many, just tell the bartender what mainstream beer you usually drink, and they will offer a sample or two of what they think you will like. It's a brewery/taproom so they do not serve food, but consistently have different food trucks out in the patio area - and they have never disappointed. A second brewery for this night. Slow Play is the latest brewery in Rock Hill, SC. They were pretty crowded the night I went. The Taproom was full, but the bar had room to get a beer. We found a place to stand at a table like area overlooking the brewing tanks. It's an often done taproom, with seating, a bar, and about half the large room chained off where the actual brewing takes place, large tanks, etc. I was surprised that they had a lot of IPA's here, but not as many other beers. Only one pale ale. They had a cream ale that my wife liked. I only had one of the IPA's and it was just ok, nothing to rave about. To be fair, this was my 3rd craft beer location for the evening, so maybe I played out on taste buds. Overall, I thought the brewery stacks up well to other locations, but I found the beer didn't wow me. But, its great to have another brewery in the city and given the crowd, it seems like its going to be a very popular spot. read more

This place has some good potential - the beer is great if you like sours, so that was an immediate victory for me. The outdoor and indoor areas have great seating and lots of games to hang out with. We unfortunately came here after a long day with our friends and our kids, and they were done by this point, but want to come back with just my wife and hang out and play games! Two things that stuck in my mind - the arcade game was not working :-(. And the urinal in the bathroom had a valve get stuck open, so it overflowed with water. Happens more often than you think it should, but an employee was not happy and cursed loudly as he walked back there - that was the downsides. I will return though! read more

We just recently checked out Slow Play and like it a lot! They have a lot of beer options and a cool open space concept with games and a food truck. They advertise live music on some Fridays and Saturdays which we plan to revisit and check out. We look forward to trying the food truck also so I'll update my review after we visit again! I think this is my new goto brewery in the area. Wonderful location, fantastic atmosphere, a great selection of reasonably priced well-balanced craft brews, and a wonderful staff. Not much mlk ore can be said. Moreover, they have food available via outside purveyors and on some nights food trucks. We will be back to relax for sure. read more

I'm "all in" on Slow Play! Slow Play is a straightforward tap room. Albeit, a really nice and comfortable one! Many taprooms have a tight and claustrophobic feel as you're crammed shoulder to shoulder. While this may happen as more and more people find out about how great the atmosphere and beers are at Slow Play, it is offset by the fact that the ceilings touch the sky. There is of course, the back of the house for brewing and storage...and it's not an eyesore like others. Well organized and kept. The large open space offers a place to stand and converse, sit and relax, or even play a game of chess. If you prefer to tip a few out of the air-conditioning or heat, you can exit to the patio via the back door. The patio has standing tables and picnic tables to belly up to. Have some fun and belly up to the standing tables and toss some discs into the Innova "Think Pink" disc golf target that resides on the patio. They also keep the music flowing outside as well as in. Grateful dead fans will be pleased. A laid back atmosphere indeed. The beers are solid while being interesting. I especially love that they serve the New England style IPAs that I prefer. Their shandy and even the traditional Lagers and Pilsners are well put together. The tummy growl may not be able to be satiated during the weekday afternoon, but they are known to have food trucks and a Sunday brunch. As if I haven't given you enough great reasons to check out Slow Play, how about some live music? Yes, they host live music too! You'd think they did some research on how to make great beer and a great place, before going into business...huh? To do: Bringing your daughter in the afternoon, buying her the greatest butter pecan cream soda, EVER, yes I tried it! Play some disc golf while finding out how their school day went. To don't: Forget that you'll need to get home safely once you start tasting the delicious beers on tap. Plan ahead. read more

Beer was good at least the two I bought but they will not give samples out as the rest of the breweries still do. Rock Hill brewery does and Yancey in Charlotte and OMB as well as others. Isn't that what it is all about? I mean why order a whole beer and you do not even know what it tastes like or may not like it? They are already serving in disposable cups they could just get small plastic shot cups. That is my big gripe with this place. Who wants to go to a brewery if you can't sample what beer you may or may not like? They could step it up also and serve out of pint glasses as they are already charging same as other breweries who do serve in glasses. The food truck was fabulous! We had a great experience the first time we were here with children, but if you're looking for a place to hang out with your children in tow, this is not the place to go... at least with the crew who was working on 12/29/19. One of the bartenders practically close-lined our child and raised her voice at both of us when he headed towards the brew room (mind you, he's 15 months old and I was right behind him and I would not have allowed him back there).
