Certainly my new favorite brewery, I find myself here almost every Monday now for their run club. They run out and come back for a beer and good times. Lots of rolling beer options alongside several regulars. The Fort Millsner is both catchy and smooth. Or drink the Rhyes and Shine if you want to be both floored and yanked back up. With a stout ABV and a dose of coffee it's bound to confuse your body and mind. There have been several excellent small batches on the list in the past too. You can buy a pintfull of peanut butter pretzels to soak up some of the beer. In the past I've also seen popcorn being made. Prices are standard for any brewery. You can get growlers filled or buy crowlers and some bottles. You can even order food from the Improper Pig next door and they will walk it over to you here at Amor. Along a wall just past the bar there's usually art displayed from local artists that can be purchased. Lots of variety from paintings to photos to handicrafts. Yes, there are kids running around in here. So keep an eye out. The owners are almost always around and typically bring their kids too. The little youngins get the run of the place and are very "free range". I've gotten quite used to it and the owners will never treat you horribly for the way you react to their kids. You can ignore them or interact with them. If they run into you, well, they're kids. They're indestructible. I was in town for the holidays and hit the jack pot when I came upon Amor Artis Brewing! The inside decor was very welcoming with the old school feel of bricks and holiday decorations all around. Not only was the inside seating great, there are two levels outside in which you can partake in drinking and relaxing as well. The Covid precautions at this brewery were great, as each table had a sign green when good to go and red when needs to be cleaned. Now let's get to the great part, the beer!! While vacationing, I usually love to get flights and sample the various brews. At Amor Artis, I was able to taste a small sample of the ones I was interested in until landing upon 'Cruising down the street in my 64 West Coast IPA.' This beer was smooth but hoppy at the same time which gave off an amazing aroma. This past weekend after visiting Carowinds for the day we ventured down to rock hill to check out amor Artis, it was our first time dropping by and I absolutely loved it. . . Located in downtown it provides a great spot to soak in all rock hill as to offer, the inside is very nice with a lot of seating and the bar has a huge menu, the bartender/owner are super nice and service is excellent. We discovered the roof top patio which is awesome and at night probably provides some good views. . . We ordered the Majestic IPA and Peach Sour beers and we loved the taste and smoothness of both. Drama, we went here for the music and to give the beer a try. We sat at a table and as soon as the musician started to play our little college waitress started complaining that the volume was not loud enough when it was perfect. the waitress ran up to the manager and turned this invisible thing into a problem where some sweaty old man at the bar starts to say something to the musician. We sat at the table for so long as it got more crowded. The beer was not that good it lacked character and flavor. We payed our bill and decided to sit at the bar to listen to the music. The old sweaty guy at the bar who said something to the musician was a complete jerk who was cursing out loud and complaining and complementing the music out loud. I asked the bartender who the old man is and she said it's the owners father. The owner of this place was sitting at the table next to the bar and this guy could not care less about what's going on. He's there with a group of his friends taking and ignoring everything. The owners father comes up to me and my wife asking us how are we doing and he puts his gross sweaty hand on my wife's shoulder. My wife spoke before I did and she said please get your hands off of me. He apologized but she got pissed off and we left. I would never come back here again. I felt bad for the musician for the unnecessary complaints he had to deal with. The beer was not good and really lacked. Our waitress was a young blond with shoulder length hair. Shes was actually over stressed and complaining about everything. We did not get food because we the drama we just didn't want to. read more

My friend and I finally made it over here when we had a day off on a Monday and this was one of the few places open. Thank you for being open on a Monday!!!! Great local Brewery! Beer is LEGIT! Personal favorite is Cruisin' Down the Street in My 6.4!! Best beer name ever! And perhaps my favorite IPA, ever! Wife likes the Dunkel Steve 4.8% and Just the Spruce Tip Pale Ale 6.5%. We've tried most of their current selection and they are all very good. Highly recommend the Colonel Stout 7%. Very smooth. Only downside is no food, but Improper Pig has great eats next door, Hobo's right across the street and ditto on the Local Dish--you can get the food to go and bring it inside Amor Artis no problem! I had heard good things about Amor Artis, and I knew it was one of the places I wanted to try when visiting my family. I saw them at the Fort Mill Farmers Market, and grabbed a 4 pack of the Fort Millsner which tasted great. When I visited the brewpub, I wasn't sure which one to try, and they let me taste a few before helping me figure out which one I wanted. After explaining which flavor profiles I like, I ended up with the Cucumber Basil and it was delicious. It was just incredibly refreshing and delicious. We bought beers for my brother and family friend as well, and couldn't believe how inexpensive it was! In NYC, I easily would have been paying 50% more than the tab I paid when leaving. We sat out on the back patio which was clean, and grabbed food from The Improper Pig. The combo was great, and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area to check it out for themselves. read more

I absolutely love Amor Artis. I'd had their beer before at the Grape Vine, but on my last trip home, I got to go the brewery (or taproom, I suppose?) in downtown Fort Mill for the first time. We enjoyed it so much the first night that we went back the next (which happened to be Thanksgiving). It's so cute. There's exposed brick, a lot of plants, and other decorations that fit my Pinterest aesthetics, which is basically the way to my heart. There is a decent amount of seating and room to gather for the size of the place. It was absolutely packed the first night I was there, so it was hard to find a table for a bit (or a place to stand). There's a cute little porch out back, and it would be a nice place to come meet people or hang out for a while. I do think they'd benefit from some fabric or something to help with acoustics because it was LOUD and hard to hear each other. The beer is good! There's a bunch of different styles available, and between 2 trips and a party of 4, I got to try a lot of them. I really loved the Chai Stout and the French Saison. At $6-7 a pour, it isn't cheap but it's local and a great environment! There are also cider options, kombucha, and a lot of different wine offerings. While I really like beer, this is a still a huge since it makes it a better option for people who aren't as crazy about beer. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town! read more

What a great beer selection. All too often breweries ate half IPAs. Not being an IPAf as n theres often only one beer on tap that I like. They had 4! A Stout, a porter, the supresso coffee blonde and the one more that I forget but it was spicy. They all were great and allowed me to tryely enjoy a sampling. You can order a sample or even just a 10 oz if you want to try a few. Parking was a little tough, across the street there is some parking behind Hobos burger place or street parking. This is a really nice edition to the Main Street line up. We strolled in here on Super Bowl just to grab a quick drink and grab a peak of the new place. My husband and I ordered a beer and my kids some water. We both got the Sospeso Coffee Blonde... yum. It was nice, easy and really tasty. I'm excited to get back there for some day drinking once I secure a babysitter :) There was a nice section by the front window for the kiddies to play. There is a toy box and a few things to keep them occupied. The decor is really cute and I was loving the pendant lights. I know that there is food coming next door but it would have been a nice touch to have some food there to order. It's great to see another brewery here in Fort Mill. The brewery is located in the heart of downtown Fort Mill across from HOBO's on Main Street. The beer is terrific, I believe they have 10-11 beers on tap ranging across many styles. The IPA's are very good, the Steam Engine Lager is as good, if not better than, Anchor Steam. I have not had a bad or disappointing beer here. Unfortunately, they have no house made root beer or cream soda or even any canned soda's. Nothing at all for the non drinkers or kids in the group. While they do have the occasional food truck on site, they have no food or snacks at all. They are not quite as kid friendly as they advertise. The space is long and narrow with a hallway leading to a deck at the rear of the building, not much of a view but it does offer some much needed overflow seating. The inside has seating on the left and a long bar on the right. They have no waitstaff, so you have to order at the bar. They also have no designated area at the bar to order, so you have to wade through the crowd and weasel in between customers sitting at the bar to order. When you go to order you have to yell, as the place is always incredibly loud. In summary, the beer is great but the tap room is deficient in many ways. I will order their beer when I see it on tap around town, but I will skip going back to the brewery until they make a few changes. read more

Well, maybe the dude working the night we were there was just having a bad night. We went in on a Tuesday night - June 12 - place had a sparse crowd... can't even call it a crowd. Dude was not very friendly so we never got to the knowledge part... not unfriendly, just sort of... there. Disinterested in interacting with the clientele. Very odd. As to the place, LOVE the layout and tables. Also really appreciate the water on tap - self serve style. I only give it 3 stars because of the service and it does not have a selection of the beers I prefer - darks - specifically, browns, porters, stouts. Hopefully, as they evolve, they will add selections in this genre. But, number one priority... a change of attitude (at least from what we experienced). After reading other reviews, I see I am not the only one that feels this way. If they don't fix that, they will fail. read more

Was finally able to make it out to Fort Mill to check out this brewery that I've heard all about and it did not disappoint! Located right in the middle of downtown Fort Mill, this brewery has several different types of beers on tap and offers great seating inside and lots or outside space (including a downstairs patio and rooftop patio). You can also get food from next door delivered (The Improper Pig). I went with the peach sour and it was great! My boyfriend got an IPA and it was also very tasty. We have come here a half dozen times. The beers were average at best for the first couple visits. I have to say, this place has stopped up their game. We walked in today and there were all different beers we have not seen. We enjoyed a couple of Moving Out West DIPAs after a hardy hike at Anne Springs. They have expertly utilized the limited room they have been allotted to include an outdoor seating area with picnic tables. Bring the family as there are games to play and one can order some bbq from the place next door. And they will deliver to you as you enjoy craft brews. I had not heard of Amor Artis as it is only a couple of weeks old, luckily a couple invited us to meet them there with our kids to grab a beer. Located in heart of "downtown" Fort Mill, the tap room is on the a smaller side being in a historic building, but it feels larger than it is. Nice wooden floors, a large deck patio out back, and a large chalk board behind a good looking bar adds to the charm of the place. The tables were all nice, thick topped wooden high-tables with wooden slat chairs. It didn't stand out as fancy, but was definitely nice and much higher quality than you find at a lot of places. The floors were soaking wet when we arrived from being mopped, probably something that should happen way earlier, or at the end of the night. The bathrooms still smelled of fresh paint, but they were not very clean. The door to the brewing area was propped open with no signage or barriers, and it did not look very good in there - needs some organization for sure. Back near the front entrance near the bar is a small chest set up with a chalkboard wall and easel for your attempts to keep the kids occupied while you try and pretend you have a social life and drink. The only downside is that there are no tables or chairs for a smaller kid to easily sit at, so they try and play on the floor - which was soaking as I stated. The bartender was friendly, energetic, and let you sample the beers. The beer is OK - there are 2 IPAs that taste extremely similar. I tried my wife's Wit and it was OK. The Hoppy New year was a solid "session IPA" that I would order again for sure. I would have loved to have sampled a larger variety of their beers, but they don't offer flights....yup, a brewery that does not offer flights. I don't get it, and it still makes me slightly angry thinking about a modern brewery not offering flights! Moving on - I saw someone that I assumed was the owner (and ended up being one of the brothers) that showed up there. I walked over to him and tried to make a conversation. I really tried hard to get him to say anything along the lines of "thanks for coming in" or "you should try X beer" - I mentioned I really enjoyed the Hoppy New year, asked about the IPAs, but got nothing back from him. I eventually just asked him why they didn't offer flights and if they ever were going to. His response, "nope" and "I don't know. Probably not." That isn't paraphrased, it was like trying to pick up a girl who wants nothing to do with you so they just ignore you. If I wanted to drink and get rejected I would go visit college sorority party again. He was terrible at being customer social. If you can't at least BS with customers that are providing a revenue source for his business, either don't wear a giant Amor Artis shirt in the Tap room, or stay out of it while customers are there! Every brewery owner or brewmaster I have met has been wonderful to speak to. They got into because they love beer - they love to drink it, brew it, talk about it, read about, etc. Hopefully he was tired and if I see him again he is more social - but this review is based off this visit. The place has a lot of potential to be great though. It was busy regardless, but I wonder if they lack of nearby options plays into that. For a 5-star from me: - I would need to see flights offered - it's the tap room for a brewery, it's supposed to be for tasting!
