I'm not a crafter, but I do enjoy tea, espresso and charcuterie and love supporting small businesses, so I stopped in to check out this new coffee & crafting cafe on Main St in Lockport. When you walk in the atmosphere is very cozy, calm and welcoming. I was greeted by the barista as soon as I came in and menus for drinks, build your own charcuterie (breads, crackers, cheeses, meat, pickled/brined items, dips & spreads, fruits, nuts and sweets) and crafting were on the counter. The crafting takes place upstairs. I opted to just have a latte and chose a seasonal special, carrot cake. They only offer whole milk or oat milk, which I houndvtk be much more limited than other cafes in the area. I prefer unsweetened almond milk, but since that wasn't an option, I went with whole milk. The latte was tasty with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, but it really didn't taste like carrot cake to me. I liked that it was just subtly sweet (usually I have to order drinks half sweet). The barista did tell me that none of their syrups/flavors are super sweet, which I find refreshing. Currently they are figuring out their hours. On my visit, I believe they were open 9-12 and then later in the day, 4-9 for crafting. I would definitely visit again... There's a vanilla fig latte and salted whipped honey latte on the menu that are very intriguing. I'd also like to build my own charcuterie on one of my next visits.

This was the CUTEST. From the tiniest details like the hand stitched name tags to the reason to come, the coffee. I had the banana bread latte and a GF Pumpkin cookie and both were AMAZING. I'll def have to come back for crafts.

The best way I can describe this restaurant is that it gives you a feeling of community. It was clear to me I was dining with a bunch of regulars since one of the people at the table next to me walked up and grabbed a can of pop from the refrigerator behind the counter, cracked it open and told Diane to add it to her ticket. Another guy at a different table got up and served himself coffee. I noticed someone else walking out from behind the bar when we walked in. I'm not sure what she was doing, but apparently it's understood when you're a regular that you're also family. I had a soup and my friend who was with me had a BLT. We were both extremely happy with our food and service. We grabbed a table near the door when we first walked in because I like to sit on the perimeter my first time visiting a place. I like to take in everything, and this place does not disappoint. Take a look at my photos to see how little I had to pay for good food and quality service. Truth be told, I was out looking at houses before taking a break at Cousin's. If I didn't want to move to Lockport before, I sure as heck want to now! Heck, I may even stop in and ask Diane for a job. The dish washer did not show up for work the day we were there, so she was pulling double duty. I'm not sure if she has someone else cooking or not, so maybe triple duty! Once word gets out about how great and affordable this place is, she'll be needing the help. Or like me, all the new people will feel instantly like family and just pitch in where needed.
