I was a patient for 3.5+ years before I spoke to him. Our first appointment was scheduled for 20 and billed for 30 minutes. Actual length? 7 minutes. He called me "my dear" several times which I think was an attempt to build rapport, but it landed somewhere between fake and lecherous. (2 stars for him) Back to the support staff, all offshore except the office manager. There is often a language barrier, like when the billing department called and asked to speak to "Doe Jane" instead of "Jane Doe" and referenced my recent visit with "Smith Mary." I usually need to call twice before someone answers the phone, and need to leave several messages before the provider gets them. On 2 occasions, I had a conversation with the NP where I mentioned trying to reach her several times and she said she never got a message until that day. Another time, the receptionist called and said, "[NP] wants me to tell you that she had an emergency and left early. She won't be able to call you today, but she will call you tomorrow." The provider hadn't been informed that I was looking for her. And didn't call back until I had left 2 more messages and spent 2 weeks thinking that she was purposely avoiding my calls. Another time, I left 2 messages for and emailed the office manager over the course of a week. When I called the next week and said I thought there was insurance fraud happening, she called me back immediately. Billing practices were explained in different incorrect ways by the billing department and then the office manager, both of which led me to believe there was insurance fraud happening. When I finally spoke to the NP, she explained it in 30 seconds and it made sense. Yes, the NP is good, but she doesn't operate alone. I stuck with her for nearly 4 years, but I finally got fed up with everyone around her.

When he retired a couple years ago, he made sure the practice would continue with the same outstanding service and care for their patients. I've had cleanings, fillings, crowns, and Invisalign with them. Over the years, I've needed 3 root canals and Dr. Bordeaux referred me to an Endodontist, but my son has had 2 by Dr. Patel. First impressions when walking into the office include clean, peaceful and quiet, comfortable and minimally plush, current surroundings and decor. The treatment rooms have the same modern feel. The staff, from the doctors, Andrew Soulimiotis and Sunny Patel (there is another Dr. whom I've not been treated by but I'm sure she is just as excellent) to the dental technicians and hygienists are well trained and offer high-quality dental work, using state-of-the-art equipment. The office staff are as professional and capable as any I've seen in a medical practice. My husband and I go there and my son has recently joined their list of happy patients and I've recommended Midtown Dental to several friends.

Medicare requires documentation of ongoing medical necessity for CPAP replacement after five years, which often includes a new sleep study. However, the process with Dr. Arfoosh felt unnecessarily burdensome and disrespectful: Two scheduled appointments were canceled by the office with only minutes' notice. During my visit, communication was difficult due to a significant language barrier. When I politely raised this issue as it affected my ability to understand instructions and ask questions, Dr. Arfoosh responded by accusing me of racism. This was unprofessional and inappropriate. The office appeared primarily focused on generating billable services rather than addressing my needs efficiently as a long-established patient. After the required sleep study, I was referred to AdaptHealth for the new CPAP machine. AdaptHealth staff repeatedly requested personal and financial information, claiming it was mandatory under Medicare rules. When I initiated a three-way call with Medicare to verify, the AdaptHealth representative immediately admitted that the information was not required. This raised serious concerns about their practices and whether they were attempting to collect unnecessary data. As a Medicare beneficiary who has relied on CPAP therapy for decades, I expected competent, respectful, and transparent care. Instead, I experienced repeated scheduling failures, poor communication, defensive behavior, and what appeared to be coercive information-gathering by the DME supplier.

I ordered standard CPAP supplies from the CPAP Clinic on 8/21/2023. A full week later (8/28) Iris responded to my email to ask a question, which I answered promptly. radio silence for nearly two weeks, when I finally again emailed (9/10) and asked for an update on my order. I received NO response from Iris. I left her a voicemail that Tuesday (9/12) and received NO response. I tried to reach Iris twice again the next day (9/13) and kept getting her voicemail. Finally I just told the front desk it had been since 8/21 since I ordered these supplies and I was getting no response from Iris. They went and found her, she came to the phone. She told me the items I ordered "had been on back order". And should be arriving "tomorrow" so they would ship out then. That means they would be shipping out on Thursday 9/14. I live exactly 1.7 miles from their office. Even with the slowest shipping option available via FedEx, it would still reach me on Monday at the latest. Well, today was Monday 9/18. No package. I emailed this morning thru the portal and asked what the tracking number was. Low and behold, this afternoon, suddenly in the portal, all of my items are suddenly posted as "ordered" and "received" on 9/7(!!). Late this afternoon, I got an auto-email from Fedex that the supplies have finally been shipped and I'll receive Thursday (9/21). So that means this CPAP supply order took EXACTLY ONE MONTH to receive from when I ordered it. All without any proper communication from the CPAP clinic to tell me the items were on back order, or giving me a status update when it was taking so long, or giving me options to choose another type of mask that was not back ordered, etc. It isn't like I was ordering jellybeans. This is medical equipment that keeps me breathing when I sleep. When you order it, you *NEED* it. It is not a "want" - it is a medical necessity. But Iris and the CPAP Clinic clearly could not have cared less. Needless to say, I have already found a different DME provider for my next CPAP supply order.
