Today, it's a nightmare. I would not buy the "inferior" ace product line. They fail to preform and follow industry standards. The high cost adds insult to injury. Convergent with that is the staff is no longer knowledgeable. It worth the drive to go to another store. You'll be glad you did.

I was quickly greeted by a younger male employee and I told him I was to ask for Mathew. (I called previously to ask about doing this and was told Mathew was the one who was able to re-key) Mathew came out quickly and was super helpful. Very good at what he does and friendly and professional. While he was doing the keying of the doorknob he was approached by a young man with Down's Syndrome that was shopping with his mother. It was difficult to understand what the boy was saying but Mathew stopped what he was doing to listen to the boy and keep eye contact with him. I was so impressed that he took the time to listen to this young man and the other employee was equally as kind helping his mother. These employees were genuine and my new doorknob is perfect!

Since they have moved to the new location on 84th St., I have been in several times and not once has anyone asked me if I need help, which I really do since I don't know the layout of the newer store like I did the old one. You would think that on a Saturday there would be employees in every department ready to help customers, but not so. It seems that Menards would like to employ order takers to write up sales but no one to help with questions. I walked around looking for someone to help me buy a door. I went up front to the check out area twice to request help before someone showed up. There was a computer in the area that appeared to be a self-service-write-your-own-sales-ticket, but it wasn't user friendly to me. Besides that, I didn't want to write up my own ticket lest I make a mistake. That isn't my job! When someone finally came, he had me come to the back of the store to print the sales order. That's when I realized I should have gone there for help right from the start. Little did I know, that's where all the employees were. There should be signs directing customers to the back of the store if that's how they want to help customers.

There is a great selection of items, and I love that you can pick up samples of most paint colors, vinyl, flooring, etc., this is so helpful! The store is kept very clean, and I rarely have seen any items out of place, or any trash around at all!

Over the weekend I was running around to a couple of different hardware stores to get what we needed for a project. I have grabbed some lumber from another store but then headed to Lowe's because the other store didn't have what we needed. With an already pretty full truck I went back to the lumber and started to grab what I needed. Cue Ted! He came right over to my toddler and I and helped us load our lumber on our cart. He waited for us to check out and came outside to help us get loaded up. Now again, I had other lumber that I purchased elsewhere. Ted worked out how to best load everything so it wouldn't shift too bad during my drive. He helped me unload and reload almost everything! I made it home and almost nothing budged. It may seem small, but I was so thankful for Ted's help and his willingness to make sure all of my things were loaded safely.

I ordered a shower head on Friday and it's Tuesday and still no shower head. I checked their website, and there were 8 in stock at the Papillion location. Mine is coming from Texas.
