PLEASE DO NOT USE SMALL WORLD PEDIATRICS!!!!!!!! This is my very first time ever writing a review in a negative sense I hope that says something. This is the husband of the patient who was seen at small world pediatrics my wife used this facility because it was close to the house no other reason I wish we had done some research before hand and I hope some of you read this before spending money on them. As far as our visits are concerned I have no problems and except for a few rude nurses and a very aggressive billing lady as you leave I would probably give it a 4 star and only for those facts why it would not be a 5 star. My issue that I am very upset about is that after paying my 5 almost 6k deductible to them for treatment and for pediatric help with my daughter they saw us as scheduled until the last time we went there we were scheduled to go see them on 29 apr 2019 and upon doctors request my wife was induced the very next day this was requested by Dr. Jimenez (very nice doctor) a week or so after my wife gave birth they called us to say that we owe them $481.50 for us seeing Dr. Jimenez, I thought this is obviously an oversite or mistake but when I called they said no it is not because this doctor was not in our plan. I asked well then why in the world would you schedule us to see him they said they did not but our regular doctor was not there so they went with him.... I asked well why would you not let us know or get us with someone who is in our plan then since we have all these apt set up for the last 8 months and have paid you guys the deductible why in the world would you have us see someone who would charge us more. In the end so I don't make this much longer they said they will not help us and are not responsible and I can dispute it if I like with the bill collectors I want everyone to know this is the answer I got from there office manager and this is the level of customer service to expect from them. If small world pediatrics reads this and decides to take responsibility for something that they should never have placed on the patient please give me a call at 904 422 7212 and i will remove this post and all the others that I will be placing. Staff is not helpful. The doctor is kind but isn't helpful or knowledgeable if you have issues. You can get an antibiotic or referral and that's it. My children received antibiotics they did not need because he wasn't interested in figuring out what the problem was. read more

The trust and love I have for both Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Silva is amazing. They are always there (day or night) if you need them. I called After hours last night and my call was answered within 20-30 minutes. My sons rash cleared up and I wasn't able to make it in today and their office called to check on my son. Any doctor who goes out of their way to check on a patient is caring, thoughtful, compassionate and simply the best. I could Not recommended better doctors to bring your children to. Mine will be going to see Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Silva until they are grown men. Thank you for being the best doctors my children could have. read more

These 2 doctors are some of the most caring and competent of any I have known. We followed Dr. Silva to this location after she moved from her previous one in Bloomingdale. We drive 45 minutes to Wesley Chapel, but I won't take our children anywhere else. When I was a new mom, my daughter had a kidney condition and Dr. Silva followed-up even after hours to make sure things were under control. That totally put my mind at ease! They still spend whatever time is needed with their patients and I have never felt rushed or shut down from asking questions. (Believe me....I ask lots of questions!) In fact, they encourage it! My children are now teenagers - my son now sees Dr. Jimenez and my daughter sees Dr. Silva. I know they are in good hands and I will continue to drive the 45 minutes it takes because I am confident they care about MY children! This Doctors office have the most rude and obnoxious staff EVER! Stay AWAY if you love and value your child's well-being. 1) The front staff have a nasty attitude. 2) The Doctor stepped out for lunch upon our arrival for our son's appointment. 3) Before Dr. Jimenez stepped out for lunch, he was gossiping with his Nurses about other patients- very unprofessional & rude! 4) This office claimed they "never received our son's medical records", however, we spoke to our previous Pediatricians office and they mailed his records via priority mail as soon as Small World requested them (2wks prior to our scheduled appt). So why did the nurse at Small World ask me to fill out another medical records release form?? Apparently their office Manager failed to do her job. I am writing this acknowledging that Dr. Jimenez is a good doctor. HOWEVER, Tonya needs to go! I can't believe all the negative reviews here that mention her by name, and the incredibly defensive responses to those posts that only make me believe that Tonya herself is the respondent! Here's my story: My family had just moved from out of state. I have 4 school aged children and Florida public schools REQUIRE a form to be filled out BY THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE (Form DH680) as well as a physical health form from a doctor's office in order for kids to be enrolled in school. Because managing 4 kids at a doctor's office in and of itself is difficult, AND this doctor's office has STRICT rules regarding how many people at a particular time can be in the office at a particular time due to COVID (even though this isn't the beginning of that!), I made 2 separate appointments so that 2 children would go one day, and the other 2 would go the next. Now, being a large family with two working adults, my husband and I split the D in getting things done. So, I will admit that as a result of splitting the D, some communication gets missed. On my first appointment, as a new patient which would make your think the staff would be on their best behavior because they want business, Tonya FREAKED that we didn't have masks (my husband was told they would have masks to give). When I asked for masks, she went into a diatribe about how they only have so many and when they run out they can't be replaced! Um, ok....come on! We're over 2 years into this thing! You can get more masks! She then asked if I had the new patient paperwork and I stated that I thought my husband did it online. Her response? "Well, if he did it online then I don't have it so you'll have to do it yourself!" huffiingly handing me 4 sets of multiple pages of paperwork for each of my children (mind you, I couldn't have done this at home because I don't have a printer since the movers are still in transit and most places now do this electronically ONLINE). She then told me that I'd have to complete it in my car because we weren't allowed in the lobby. Despite having arrived 30 minutes early (and having the paperwork for the 2 kids being seen that day done IN TIME for my appointment), my appointment didn't start until 45 minutes after the scheduled time. 2 days later I came back with 2 more children (all paperwork done though because it was completed while I waited that extra 45 minutes the day before). This time it runs smoothly, we're seen on time but on our way out, I DARED to ask about getting the immunization forms I needed for school...Tonya's first response was "we haven't done anything for you!" (meaning they hadn't given us immunizations, HOWEVER, they had collected my co-pay and billed the insurance company for the 4 visits, so essentially they had gotten paid for doing "nothing for us") When I said, "I need them for school" she said, "you gave them to US! Can't you do it yourself?!!?" This is when I KNEW we were not going to be staying with this office! Luckily, Dr. Jimenez was standing there and said to her "she means the forms for school" and Tonya backed down, curtly said she would put in a request for Courtney (the MA) to do them...no time frame, no apologies, just a sense that I was being ridiculous to even ask for such a thing! Keep in mind, this is REQUIRED by the state of Florida and I can only imagine it is a REGULAR request for a pediatrician's office! Voicing my frustrations to my husband later, he politely called and talked to Tonya who told him that she told me the forms would be ready in 2 business days (she didn't). Regardless, we got the forms 2 days later only to find that several vaccines REQUIRED by public schools AND were on the records from Colorado that I gave them, had been omitted! Our new pediatrician's office caught this and told me the kids wouldn't have been allowed to attend school without those vaccines (which they had received, but Small World Pediatrics had omitted). This whole office is a complete train wreck! The worst part of this whole thing is that these 2 appointments were to establish my kids as new patients! The staff should be making me believe that they are here for US, that they care for US, that they WANT our business! I was hesitant after one appointment! After 2?!!!?!? I was done! You'll see reviews that say that they saw these docs for years! It took me 2 introductory visits for TONYA to be the reason we left! Sadly, I don't think the docs read these reviews. Tonya is the respondent and will very defensively come back at me just as she has other reviewers (FORMER patient families) here. It doesn't matter how good the docs are, the STAFF are the ones who should HELP you solve the actual problems in getting what you need. I know because I'm a nurse! Tonya is not fit for this job and you HAVE TO go somewhere else! Unless she gets fired which she should be! read more

I love both Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Silva at Small World Pediatrics. They take time with their patients, are straight forward when answering questions, and are kind and gentle with my children. Although the office is small, the staff is friendly and laid back. In the past, I had a newborn in NICU (Dr. Jimenez treated her at the hospital), a toddler with a plethora of daycare related issues (Dr. Silva was conservative with her treatment and spot on with her diagnosis), and have had issues with referrals (and the front desk staff went above and beyond to get eberyting resolved for me as a drove to a specialists office across town). I can't say enough good things about this place. Only con is there is often a wait time for afternoon appointments- which hasn't been problematic enough for me to give them less than 5 stars. Wholeheartedly recommend this practice. read more

Would give 5 stars but Dr. Jimenez is always running late, but once your in front of him...he gives you 100%. Friendly pediatrician that cares about his patients. The doc sees newborns to young adults up to age 21 with hospital privileges at St. Joseph's Hospital, Florida Hospital Tampa and Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel. Dr. J provides well care, sick visits, physicals (sports, school & camp), and even prenatal consultations. Worst physicians office ever! The staff is incompetent, and I serious doubt the doctors credentials as he didn't know the answers to the simplest of questions regarding newborn Rx and I quote "I'll look up your question and get back to you." I called another nearby office and quickly got an answer from the doctor. They also messed up my annual deductible with my insurance and refused to return my money until I had a lawyer write a letter!!! read more

I absolutely love this doctors office. The ladies in the reception area are so sweet and they remember everyone that they see. The office is clean and it doesn't smell like a doctors office. Afternoon appointments do run a little late but Dr. Jimenez is awesome. I moved out of state but contemplated keeping my son at this office and just driving back to Fl for his appointments and I still think about it sometimes. Friday was our first time visiting Small World Pediatrics. Right from the beginning the desk "clerk" was behaving in a passive aggressive manner . Slamming phones down, roughly shoving papers, argumentative,... I observed from my seat in the waiting room her handing a urine specimen cup and a wipe from behind her desk to a young girl stating, "make sure you wipe good". HIPPA. Next I observer what appeared to be the office manager standing in the doorway of the desk clerk holding a computer cord while the desk clerk was on the phone with a patient. She was insistent that the desk clerk listen to what she had to say. The desk clerk proceeded to put the patient on hold to address the office manager's needs. The office manager went on to say "next time you wrap the computer cord. do it like this", and then began to demonstrate how to wrap the cord according to her belief. I was set back from the time I walked into this office. There's more but I think it's pretty clear that this office is mismanaged and lacking in leadership. Absolute absence of any professionalism. On a side note, the doctor was very pleasant and if it had not been for the staff I would have felt differently. Highly recommend anyone in need of a pediatrician look elsewhere! read more

To Dr Jimenez opening up the office on an off hour just for your child, so you don't have to go to Urgent Care! He is awesome. Dr. Jimenez has been our Pediatrician for the last 15 years. I love him! His staff is another story! Im not the type to do reviews but Ive had it with his rude and disrespectful front desk receptionist TANYA. I fight with this rude woman every time I bring my kids in and we are past the age of needing a doctors visit often. We go maybe once a year. At this point, due to the TANYA and her rude mannerism, We will not be returning. I asked her to have Dr. Jimenez call me. Based on the other reviews I can see Im not the only one who has trouble with his staff. Its a shame that a Doctor this caring and professional has someone so unprofessional working at the front-The face of his operation.. Now you want to adhere to HIPPA guidelines?! You provided my mother with a lot of financial information while she was there, So is she authorized to receive this information or not? No one should have to wait over a month for test results when their child is in pain. Whether or not it's sporadic is irrelevant. This doctor has little to no interest in the children he is treating and his billing staff is rude and incompetent. First of all my son had a cold and cough for two months under his care . He treated him with three antibiotics and nebulizer treatments , which did not help. I switched doctors on Friday and she solved the problem in four days. My son had allergies and with Zyrtec he was better in days. Also I had paid out of pocket in November 2014 in the amount of 240$ . Turns out my son was covered under my plan for this visit. I called the office and gave them the information needed for my refund . It took 10 months to get my money back Sept 2015) in addition to so many phone calls I lost count. I was a fan of this place up until recently. My last conversation with the current office manager, I believe her name is Shakeisha, was not at all pleasant. Her tone and manner in which she spoke to me offended me. For the past MONTH I have been trying to receive my daughters physical as she has just began school. I was told that she needed to be seen by the ophthalmologist as well as the hematologist before her doctor would release the physical. I took her to both appointments and patiently waited over two weeks before the physical was released to me. However, when I received the physical it had restrictions saying my daughter could not have any physical activity because she needed glasses. The eye doctor NOT ONCE told her father and I that our baby girl would need glasses, on the contrary, he told us that her eye sight was fine and that she is set to have 20/20 vision. I even went as far as recontacting the eye doctors office to have them fax over that information to her primary care physician. The assistants and front desk workers at Small World proceeded to tell me that the information they received from eye doctor was that my daughter need eye glasses for treatment and that is why it was written on her physical as such. However, any and every time I called the eye facility to confirm that information, I was told by both front desk personnel as well as the eye doctor himself that my daughter's vision was just fine and no eye glasses were needed. This confusion resulted in me calling back and forth between the eye doctor and the main doctor's office to get this misinformation corrected. When I spoke with the office manager she told me that the doctor is too busy to worry about this matter as they are seeing sick patients everyday and they cannot take the word of the parent in matters such as this. Instead of owning the mistake, whether it was hers or another fellow employee, and also realizing that the information I am telling them is information given to me directly from the ophthalmology office which I've had them fax over that information SEVERAL times, her tone seemed as if she was irritated and removed from the situation. I do not appreciate this and will continue to be on them about this matter or any other matter should something like this occur in the future. read more
