I initially was disappointed - I walked in looking for the king cake cupcake, and I was told that they didn't have it and they would have it closer to Fat Tuesday. But because I traveled so long to get there I didn't wanna leave empty-handed so I bought a wedding cake and Oreo flavored cupcakes. When I got home, the cupcake was so darn good. I ate it with both hands!!! So moist but yet delicate enough to crumble when you bite into it. Really one of the best cakes I have purchased from a bakery in a long time. The service was outstanding! The people are very friendly and happy to help you out. You can get it with icing or without... But why without in my opinion? It's a cute little store. We decided the best were Pink Vanilla, Decadent Chocolate and Strawberry. The cupcakes were "tender" (I hate the M word so this is the best way I can describe them). Not dry at all! Drove out to this cupcake shop because I've been craving some for the last couple days. It's a cute shop in a busy part of town; and with it being Saturday there was a steady stream of customers. The woman working the counter was very friendly and got my order to me quickly. I ordered a sample of four: carrot cake, lemon drop, strawberry and vanilla with chocolate icing. I tried Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery through my "Too Good To Go" App and just loved everything about it! To start with, of course, is the yummy cupcakes and ice cream. The cupcakes are gorgeous and big. And they are as great as they look. Moist and flavorful, the icing is rich and delicious. I just have not seen this quality of cupcake before. They do have small cupcakes that are as good as the big ones. They're perfect for finding your favorite flavors. They have ice creams too and I believe they are homemade-they sure taste like it. I had Cream Cheese with Carrot Cake. Oh so good. The cupcake we've tried so far was the wedding cake one with little white pearls (Adorbs!) and the Strawberry. Next wedding shower those wedding cupcakes are for sure on my list. So many to choose from but I wanted to get this up ASAP because I was so impressed and I don't want anyone to have to buy those dried out things at the grocery. This place is so cute inside. I was in the area and wanted something sweet for dessert later, so I Yelped gluten free bakeries. Smallcakes came up with great reviews, and I gave them a call to confirm that they actually had GF goodies to choose from. They only had vanilla and chocolate, but I was more than happy with that. I drove over, put on my mask (wear your mask, people), and headed inside. This is just a tiny little bakery with a display case filled with gorgeous cupcakes and a refrigerator full of drinks for purchase. The woman working was so kind and let me know I could choose any frosting flavor I wanted and she'd frost my cupcakes for me fresh! I ordered gf chocolate with chocolate frosting, gf chocolate with vanilla frosting, and two gf vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (my favorite). There were all sorts of other much more fanciful flavors and toppings, but I was thrilled with my simple selection. It cost me $15 for 4 gluten free cupcakes. These cupcakes are big!! And heavy!! But still somehow light and fluffy. I could only eat one after dinner and it was perfection. I had vanilla (you can see the vanilla beans in the cupcake itself), and the texture and flavor was amazing, especially for a gluten free cupcake. So so good! And the cream cheese frosting is extremely rich and decadent. Delicious!! Jon had chocolate chocolate and I had a bite and thought it was wonderful as well, though I prefer vanilla every time! It's a quaint and cute space. There was no wait upon entry. After looking at the cupcake options from carrot cake to lemon, to salted caramel, we chose red velvet and strawberry. I love the containers the cupcakes came in. Though not as many as the cupcake options, I like that there were also other food options such as cupcake in a jar, ice cream, and truffle bars. My friend couldn't finish her red velvet cupcake even with my help. I was able to finish mine, but I got the 3 mini cupcakes. So they only took a bite each. I would say it would take 6 mini cupcakes to equal their normal sized one. The icing was very sweet as most icings are. But I think the cake itself was so sweet that they didn't balance out. One of the two or both can lessen on the sugar and it would taste great. All the flavors were there. Their wedding and tuxedo cakes have almond icing. I love almond icing. So the flavor choices are good, but less sugar can be better. The lemon drop has good lemon flavors. Wished the cake was lemon though. I believe the icing is lemon flavored and there is lemon filling inside while the cake is vanilla. But the lemon filling made it more sweet. My fav that I ate here was the strawberry cupcake. It did not have any filling inside, so I think that helped a little bit. Although I wouldn't say it is the best strawberry I've ever had. Another thing I wish they offered which most dessert places do is complimentary water. Like a self serve station with some water in those table top dispensers and little paper cups. They offer milk, soda and bottled water for sale. But i just see those complimentary water stations so often, it would help with the desserts. When we asked for water, they did give us some tap. They are $4 a cupcake, so on the pricier end however it's worth it. I opted for the red velvet cake that had cream cheese frosting, my favorite. I have never actually been here before, but I have gotten to enjoy a few of their sweets! I tasted the chocolate on chocolate cupcake and the cookies and cream cupcake. The cake was moist and the frosting was tasty, but very thick! I'm not a huge frosting person so I scraped over half of and enjoyed my cupcake with a little less frosting. If you are a frosting fan you will love it!! I also tried their chocolate covered Oreos (milk chocolate covered and white chocolate covered). The milk chocolate covered Oreo was my fav! It had a thick layer of chocolate around it and was very decadent. I like them cold so I popped mine in the refrigerator! I stopped by small cakes a few days ago when I was on a little self date and I met the sweetest worker who I assume may run the store. I tried their ice cream which was super creamy and great to cool down in the heat. The woman was so kind and she and I talked a little bit while I was getting my dessert. Right before I left she was sweeet enough to give me a mini cupcake to try. It was a strawberry cupcake with icing and this sort of jelly on top and it was soooo good. Amazing. The best cupcakes I've ever had in my life. They are perfect. I strolled into the shop on a sweltering evening. After work, I knew that the only thing that would satiate me was a delicious cupcake... and I deserved one. Or two. I met a lovely lady working there and she was kind and curious about my name and where I was from. I received the package in a cute pink box and was so excited I almost skipped out of the store. When I got home, I discovered that they had melted a little bit in the car... luckily for me, the frosting became this incredible texture... enjoying them was an experience to remember. My favorites are the Carrot Cake (got to love the cream cheese base) and the Salted Caramel pictured below (you can tell it's homemade caramel and it is decadent). Today, I got the Hot Fudge Sundae and Peanut Butter Cup, both delicious and huge so that I and my husband have to eat them in two sittings. I also love that many of their cupcakes are made with a cream cheese frosting (not the Hot Fudge Sundae though).
