Thank you so much for the tasty birthday cake

My granddaughter wanted a tres letches cake and I went here and everyone one is right ! This is the best

Absolutely some of the best pastries and baked goods there is. They also have fresh bread, tortillas, and tons of cakes. They have a refrigerator with tons of milk as well so it's convenient if you need some milk. They do accept Zelle if you don't have cash. Which was very helpful. Staff there were super nice. You get a tray and tongs and go select what you want. The four pastries in the picture were absolutely amazing. I was stunned to hear it was only $5.75 for all four!! Most places are expensive but this place is super reasonable for those looking for a wide selection and good prices. It's a big place so don't be fooled of thinking it's not good. We will definitely be coming back here!

A friend recommended this "mom & pop" Mexican bakery and man did it deliver! Note that they do not take cash so I had to return after I visited the ATM. I got an assortment of goodies for the office to celebrate Hispanic heritage month and tried the cookies, a flower pastry and conchas. Everything was beautiful, colorful and so delicious! I asked for recommendations in my terrible Spanish and the worker recommended a few things that looked like gingerbread in addition to some of the pastries I had already selected. Pricing is affordable as I bought a big box of ~25 items and it rang up to $27 - I was shocked it didn't cost more! I can't wait to go back for more pastries and they also have beautiful cakes, slices and whole. Definitely a diamond in the rough but an amazing bakery!

First of all we went to all the Asian bakery shops here via Yelp for we are from Orange County, Ca. Strange many are *closed! We are used to 85 degrees - bakery hot spots in Ca. Anyways it's my bf's birthday and I was determined to get him a yummy cake that's not too sweet because we found that Texans dishes/sweets are 3x more! No wonder many dentists and many people with diabetes here. Anyways, coming from California, we were shocked at how expensive the pan cake is here! A whopping $50 cash! Where I'm from it would cost @$28-$35 tops so we didn't understand why it's super expensive here and there wasn't any information on the cake ingredients too. We were in a rush so we didn't get to try out the other breads or snacks plus I was in total shock of the price tag, I just walked out after paying. With that being said, the cake was beautifully decorated with almonds and strawberries on top. Quite yummy but would be better if it's also an ice cream. Owner need to not overcharge because the only payment method is cash.

The people working here are so sweet and amazing. The variety of pan dulce is so wide and fresh!! There are whole cakes, cakes by the slice and tamales!!! It's our new go to spot on the weekends!! Ordering everything I can from here!!

Picking up a last-minute cake, vanilla tres leches with strawberry filling ($15)

If you know what to do at 85 Degree Bakery, you'll be good to go here too. If not, get a tray and cover with a sheet of paper or plastic. Pick your pleasure from an assortment of baked goodies using tongs or plastic wrap--anything but your bare hands. Bring your tray to the counter and have your cash ready because "Solamente efectivo!" They also have refrigerated cakes for last-minute pick-up that are as delectable as they are beautiful. I got the tres leches log with strawberry filling for a group I knew wasn't going to indulge themselves too much. The Magic Candles sold at the counter of Anakaren gave all the kiddos a chance to blow out the candle again and again, giving the cake an extra layer of sheen. There is space at their new location (on Browning between Pioneer and Arkansas) for a few chairs and tables, but I didn't see any on my quick visit. So for now, you'll have to enjoy your goodies at home or (because they're irresistible) in your car.

I like coming here to get the pineapple bread and chocolate rolls. Occasionally I'd try the other goodies, including their custom milk bun, garlic bread, egg tarts and chocolate pudding. All of them never disappoint, as they're always fresh and kept in appropriate temperatures. As an app member, I also get deals; I've claimed their free drinks before, and I think it's a great value especially when I enjoy grabbing a milk tea to accompany my pastries. The drinks are top tier too; I've tried their lattes, milk tea and specials. Staff has never made my drink wrong and I've gotten them at a reasonable time even if it's busy. I will say, since it's a bakery, obviously come early to have the freshest items. Also as the day goes on, they will stop restocking, so by the time it's 5PM, most of their items are gone. Be early and you'll have a great time!

Unfortunately, the cashier forgot to include my slice of Black Forest cake. Everything else was packed, but as you can see from the photo, the cake was missing. We called the bakery to see if we could pick up the cake at another location since we were already about 20 minutes away on the freeway when I opened the box and realized it wasn't there. We were told that wasn't an option. They did offer a refund, but because we paid in cash and were already so far away, that wasn't very convenient. Aside from that issue, everything else was good. I'm disappointed because the cake was the item I was looking forward to the most. I'll give the Carrollton location a try next time and hope for a better experience.

And tbh, 100% worth it. We ended up trying their concha, salt bread, cookies, and kolaches and they were phenomenal. The mango sticky rice and banana cream matcha were FANTASTIC. Right amount of umami from the matcha and the sweetness from the flavors didn't overpower the drinks. Perfect combination of sweet, savory, and creamy. Pro tip: get here early. The lines tend to be out the door.

I've never had mazapan, but I liked the sweetness of the peanuts and powder sugar in the drink. The matcha had grassy notes, which I liked. It tasted like a sweet fresh peanut milk drink but not necessarily like peanut butter milk. You can get a regular or large sized drink. Dulce de leche concha was pretty and tasty. It seemed more milk bread-like since it was soft and fluffy. It reminded me of melon pan because the crust was soft and crumbly. There's a small amount of dulce de leche in the middle, which is okay since the top is very sweet and the dulce de leche is rich. Shio pan with cream cheese and everything bagel: similar to a Chinese baked bread (cut almost all the way) filled with whipped cream cheese. The bottom has a slight crust but not hard like a Korean salt bread, and it's topped with everything bagel seasoning (not too salty). Dubai choco strawberry cookie: moist and almost fudgy because of chocolate chunks, topped with fresh strawberry slices. There's a small center of pistachio cream but the usual crispy noodles were already broken and mixed in, so it's less satisfying to me. The chocolate cookie part was like a rich brownie. It stayed soft even refrigerated. The marranito (pig-shaped sweet cookie) was thick and broke like a soft cookie. It's like a gingerbread cookie with less spices. Even refrigerated, the cookie was pretty soft. I'm usually not too fond of this type of flavor, but I liked this version. Ham and cheese bun: fluffy baked Asian bread with thin slice of ham and cheese. Bacon egg and cheese milk bread resembles a thick Chinese bread bun with a bacon-wrapped thick tamagoyaki inside. The egg part looked like it was overcooked. Coffee bun is a soft and high plain bun covered with a thick layer of slightly bitter coffee powder. The bread items started getting drier after getting cut and refrigerated but softened once they were microwaved. There are clean trays and tongs for the baked goods. The line moves along the edges. The bakery had (2) baskets of large umbrellas since it was a long and slow line and blazing hot. The outside line takes up most of the small parking lot. There is some street parking along the 2-way road. I think the bakery was busier than normal due to it being the day after a BTS concert and social media. It took about 50 minutes to get inside, 20 minutes to get through the line, then 15 minutes to receive drinks. There are a few tables along the right side of the inside bakery and a few small tables outside. Even though it was very busy, the staff projected a friendly and competent image. There're clay heart-shaped plates to eat on and plastic forks for splitting pastries. The graphics on the murals, merch (shirts and aprons), big boxes, and cups were cute. The image on the plastic cups are easily scratched off.
