The diner is located in a L shaped shopping area with scattered parking. The sign is rather small and not very visible. They are at the corner and they utilize one side for outside dining. Check in with the hostess for table assignment and a glimpse of the menu you order and pay at the counter and then the food is brought to you; you get your own beverages. The food came out quickly and I appreciated that the kitchen split both dishes for my friend. Everything was so delicious and fresh. All of the staff was welcoming and friendly. read more

Just a heads up that the signage outside can be a little confusing when you're trying to find it. You'll see the word "espresso" before you see the business logo. We had a wait of about 20 minutes because it was fairly busy. As a New Yorker, I was surprised not to find home fries and corned beef hash on the menu. Everything was still good though. Was a bit of an elevated diner experience. You don't find breakfast quesadillas often so I always love to order them when I find em on a menu. Heads up that it's a little wonky where you have to be seated and then walk back up to the counter to place your order and pay ahead of time. read more

It was my first time and the hostess walked us through the ordering process. You take a seat wherever you like and then go to the register to place your order and pay. Your food is brought to your table. You can tip at the register or at your table. It has the feel of a bistro. I had the Spanish omelet and my friend had the Cajun omelet and we split a waffle. I came on New Year's Day and was sat promptly with a table for two. Ordering at the counter was a little strange because I was worried about losing my table or leaving my belongings behind. The guy taking our order was friendly and honest about what's best, which I appreciated. I was stuck between the French toast, waffles, or pancakes, and he said our pancakes are the best, so I got them and loved them. I got a cafe latte as well and the disappointing part was it being served in a paper cup, which if I was taking it to go would have been fine, but I enjoy drinking hot drinks out of mugs so I don't taste the paper. The latte was tasty otherwise. My friend got a chai latte and unfortunately it was made incorrectly but they swiftly made her another one that tasted perfect. The area was nice, pictures on any bare space of the walls. Everyone was friendly and I will definitely come back! read more

We had such a great time here, we were celebrating our 10th anniversary by meeting with a couple of friends for brunch here while were in the area for the Stray Kids concert! Please be aware, when you get seated, then you can go order your food, that was something I should have noticed or noted, but no biggie, someone came to our table and quickly told us how it works :) Everything was so delicious. Special mention to the staff, as they noticed my little one and offered to make a smile with whipped cream on her pancake, she was in awe and the smile on her face thanks to the kindness of the staff, it is something I will always remember! read more

We kicked things off with a hot Caramel Macchiato that tasted like a warm hug from a dessert wizard. The Dirty Chai? A little less magic, more like a caffeine-fueled identity crisis. Then came the Cajun Omelette--holy hot sauce, that thing slapped harder than Monday morning! Smoky, spicy, and possibly made by a Louisiana grandma with superpowers. SERIOUSLY SO GOOD. Brunch spot located on an unassuming strip with a trendy, clean interior, delicious food, and the best staff ever. I was not expecting much from the Hell's Kitchen Quesadilla ($13.5) but it was unlike anything I have ever had - filling, flavorful, and delicious. It had a chicken-cheese-egg-salsa mixture inside. The" salsa" that came on the side was very watery but overall a stellar dish! BF got the Waffle Works ($13.5) - and loved it. The Vanilla Cappuccino ($6) was huge, sweet, and delicious. The food feels fresh and healthy, the portions are generous, and the prices are unbeatable. The staff are amongst the sweetest, friendliest, and loveliest I have experienced at any spot. I just want to say that this small breakfast place is amazing. The food was unbelievably good. I enjoyed my omelette. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a small town vibe to it. Bay 34th Street Dinner?! Why not! Not only did this place pop up on Yelp but it was also suggested on Googled. This place was solid. Breakfast/brunch that did exactly what it said it would do, fed you. I get that people may look at the menu and feel like it's simple but it's was quality food at an impeccable time and the customer service was phenomenal. I would say that this place could really make things shake if they had a bigger spot but less is more! There was an about a 10-15 minute but that's because the food and service is just that good! read more

bay 34th street diner was a very pleasant brunch experience. my wife and i visited on a saturday afternoon and we spent $25 each for a meal and coffee. we were seated to look at the menu and told to order at the front when we were ready. From the moment you enter into Bay 34th Street Dinner - you realize that you've found something special. You're greeted by their wonderful staff that embody the homey feeling of this cafe! Lamar is usually up at the front, his personality and kindness will keep you smiling the whole time. The building itself is small but the service and table turn around is quick - you have indoor and patio options. They can handled large groups but it is busy inside so be mindful of how long you nest. You do need to order up at the front and they have a To-Go line as well. Lastly the kitchen - it's clean and truly maneuvers like an old school dinner. They have multiple people in the kitchen and you do not wait long for your food. Everything comes out hot and off the stove! I've been coming here for a while now, it's always my first choice in the mornings. Give this place a shot - they are more than worth your visit :) read more

The guacamole was a bit heavy on the onions and needed some seasoning but it didn't take away too much from the meal. Philly omelette was a major hit. Bay 34th Street Diner is a fun and unique atmosphere. The decor is interesting, but not overwhelming. The menu has plenty of options, classic favorites like chicken and waffles to interesting choices like Salmon Benny (eggs Benedict). The prices are a little above average, and there isn't really space for large groups (we brought 12) - though they made adjustments to accommodate us. The staff was very kind and helpful. read more

First time at this restaurant, GPS took me to the inner corner of the shopping center, but it's on the edge of the building. There was about a 20 minute wait, and it was pretty true to the wait time. Once I got my table I didn't realize I had to order in the front. I eventually ordered my Philly Cheesesteak and it was SUPER good. It was hot and flavorful. The service was excellent. I was asked regularly if everything was good, from just about everyone working. It was very pleasant. One thing I really appreciated was when I asked for a cup for water, they gave me a good size cup for water. Most restaurants give you a 4-8 ounce cup. Definitely would like to go back the next time I am in the Arlington area. read more

My daughter found this new brunch spot in Arlington and we tried it out. We arrived about 1:30pm and the hostess seated within minutes. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, but it was later and close to closing at 3pm. We decided on our food and ordered at the counter. The young lady that took the orders was the SWEETEST! Our food came out very timely and everything was delicious we ordered Berry Crepes, grits, pancakes, beef and turkey bacon and an American omelette. My wife and I were out running errands on Saturday morning, it was breakfast time and Bay Street was close by, which I'd been wanting to visit. Upon arriving we weren't sure if there was table service or what. Several, very friendly, employees greeted us and explained about going through the line to order and then our entrees would be brought out to us. We sat down to look over the menu so my wife could go through the line. I'm an amputee and in a wheelchair so it's easier for her to "park" me and take care of the ordering. After looking over the menu, my wife decided on the Berry Crepe breakfast, and I decided on the waffle breakfast with over easy eggs and beef bacon. Shortly after my wife arrived back at our table, our breakfast entrees were delivered to our table. All the employees are SO upbeat and willing to please. They came by the table several times to see if there was anything that we needed. First off, their coffee is fantastic, it was so smooth. They have a coffee station with lots of selections and a barista. My wife loves crepes and Bay Street's crepes were no exception, she cleaned her plate. On to my Belgin Waffle Breakfast. Oh my, the waffle was one of the most incredible Belgin waffles I've ever tasted. It was fluffy and light and cooked to perfection. My eggs were also a perfect over easy. The interior is very inviting, there's lots of great things to look at plus the music was so enjoyable. We'll definitely stop in again when we're in the area. I was going to the Arlington tennis center this morning to watch some matches and decided on a pre match breakfast here. Never have heard of the place but it was a block away so I took a chance. Glad I did Pancakes, just perfect and lots of softened butter to go with the syrup. Bacon very tasty and eggs cooked perfect and a slammin' good cuppa Joe to wash it down. Food was ok, nothing about it was special. The bad experience here is about extra charges and no coffee service. You have to get up and get your own coffee. I hate this. I go t a place to have good food and coffee while reading the paper. And what's worse is finding the urn empty. So now I must wander around and figure out how to get coffee. To make the experience more distasteful they tack on a service charge. read more

Bay34th Street is the brainchild of Tim Ajro who grew up on Bay34th Street in NY. A successful restaurateur, Tim has managed to establish amazing food havens for families, friends, & food lovers. Bay34th Street Diner has come a long way from being just a resto around the corner to a home for people who long for a great & comforting food experience.

Meet the Business Owner: Tim A.

Tim's story is nothing less than a story of dream, vision, hard work, attitude, creativity and dedication. In short , the story of The American dream. Tim grew up on the streets of Brooklyn. Although he was good in school, due to financial hardship to support his family Tim dropped out of school and started bussing tables at a local restaurant at the junction of Bay Ave and 34th Street. By that age, Tim knew the value of hard work and a positive attitude. While working at a local pizza joint Tim moved up in the ladder from busser to dishwasher to line cook to pizza cook. Tim realized that his creativity in culinary sciences and understanding of the complexity of taste, food and spices would lead him to explore the field of culinary arts.

He quoted us 15 minutes but after half an hour, somebody came out and said that something happened and that they are working on the egg waffle for us. They did not say well what's going on. No problem, we were just scrolling on our phones and just chilling but after 45 minutes, we thought that this was very unusual and went up to the counter to see what was going on. Basically, their freezer exploded, and all the ice cream was melting. So, I don't understand why they would not tell us the truth and say that they could not give us the ice cream and refund us or at least tell us the truth. I don't know what their endgame was or if they were just very young and so nervous that they could not tell us when we are pretty chill. But, there's no solution for something like this for a catastrophic machine issue. There's no way to fix this Icecream problem since all the ice cream melted, but they decided not to tell us anything at all in hopes that what? We would forget call? That the machine will spontaneously work again and refreeze the ice cream within a specific amount of time so they could scoop the ice cream again and give us a waffle? I was just baffled because it's been almost an hour for us to get a simple waffle with a scoop of ice cream. In the end, the workers had to get the manager because they were unable to figure out some kind of solution amongst themselves for a simple problem. I figure this is because they were all young or management likes to micromanage everything, and they were afraid to make an executive decision themselves. They offered us the melted ice cream so we could dip our waffle in though lol. At the end, the solution was that we got a plain egg waffle without any of the fruits in it and no ice cream, a strawberry banana smoothie which was actually really freaking good, and a calamari stick that we asked for. Despite the almost hour long wait, the ambience in this place was nice, the kids were nice, even though they were quite nervous, the drinks were good and to be honest, we weren't really caring too much. I hope that next time when there is a catastrophic issue with the machines and things cannot be fixed within a reasonable time that you would tell the customer that they cannot fulfill the order and to offer a refund or some solution within 10 to 15 minutes instead of 45. Still a 4/5 bc that strawberry banana smoothie was bomb, and the machine breaking wasn't anyone's fault.
