The food is generally good with decent portions for the money. Service is friendly and quick. They say it's a sports bar but only because the TVs blast sports, and a jukebox is available. On busy nights you may have to yell to be heard but it's all good people, vibing. I eat there several times a week and the only problem that I have with the place is that the owner sees me there multiple times but he never acknowledges me. I don't think that's a bad thing, acknowledging a frequent customer, but that and one more thing actually. They fry everything in canola oil which tears my guts up. It's as bad as food poisoning to me. So I'm not eating anything fried there and that's a good thing! You should try the place when in town. The ladies are welcoming and they will take good care of you, no matter if it's just you or your family of 19 is joining you. read more

This was my 1st time here. And I hope for many more. While taking a ride with my family we wanted something to eat. Someplace that we have never been before. We seen this place and decide to give it a try. The wait staff was awesome and very friendly, and food was great. I had the pub burger with frys it was delicious my son had a coney dog and Fry's, and my other son and my wife shared the chicken tenders and Fry's. Great prices, and huge beer selection. We came in during a busy lunch rush with one waitress for about fifteen tables. After about twenty minutes she was able to greet us and take our order. We knew she was working hard and had no issue at this point. An hour later, after what appeared to be the owner stopped to ask us if everything was okay and after the waitress looked over to our table a dozen times, we were told that our order was never given to the kitchen. Fries were well cooked, etc Wife ate chicken fingers (she always does) and usually leaves me one to nibble on - good balance of crisp and tenderness this time. This is our go to place. Everything on the menu is good!! I love the southwest egg rolls with spicy mayo. The quesadilla is also a favorite choice! My husband likes that the beer is fresh and cold and I like they're expanded spirits.... they can also accommodate large groups which is tough to do in the thumb. read more

Stopped here on our way back from Port Hope. Great cheesburger! Cooked perfect with all the fixin's. Cole slaw was $1 extra but was crisp and fresh. Fries were good, but could have stayed in the fryer a minute longer, but the whole meal was good, and the service was friendly. We were actually the only one's in the place, until we were leaving, then a couple more tables were filled. Nice bar, with tables in the center. Don't blink or you may miss it. just had a pleasure of stopping by this local hot spot on a Saturday night last weekend. we were driving up M25 en route to port austin, and stumbled upon the first really big intersection (25/142) and with the sounds of growling from our stomachs, thought this was the best we'd find (it was a little past 8pm). looking around, we saw little caesar's open. decided to go to the only other place that was open - Smalley's. it was pretty crowded when we walked in (there were a couple of big parties seated at tables and most of the seats at the bar were taken). sat at the bar, ordered a burger, and i have to say it was one of the better tasting burgers i've ever had. the patty was just amazing (maybe even better than umami or fo burger). i wanted to stay for a bit longer, but the fact that we still needed to get to port austin and my buddy not feeling too comfortable there made for a hasty exit. overall a pretty good food for good price. a burger and a philly cheese steak sandie with 2 drinks came out to about $21. paid $30 and left. my friend swore he felt like if we stayed longer, we'd been the next vincent chins. i highly doubt that (the owner and the waitress were friendly). but we did get some seriously weird stares when we walked in. read more

Don't leave Harbor Beach without stopping by here for an awesome burger and french fries.....Great coleslaw too that is homeade ....They put out a burger 1/2 pounder you cant even get your mouth around that is sooooo good.....We have done the hamburger, the cheeseburger and the bacon cheeseburger and everyone was the best bar burger so far. Bun you say......not the average bun but the best and toasted too....you cant get better than that it's like a homeade square just really tasty......If you leave there hungry something is wrong because that is one heck of a burger with great flavor. My wife and I bought a cottage near Harbor Beach. The town is amazing in every way except their restaurants. If this town could find a ways to make ice water fatting they would. Smally's Friday and Saturday night specials may be the one excepting. You will find one or two items that are "clean". I got salmon the other night and it was a normal size piece (broiled) decent amount if fresh green beans and nice tasting (non-oily) side of rice. My only complaint is the amount of rice. It was equal to a shot glass full. Almost insulting. I did ask for more and they were more than willing. My wife and I have ruled out every restaurant in harbor beach except Sally's. I highly recommend it. read more
