The staff is always so friendly snd helpful! From the cashiers to that guy who's always on produce to the younger kid who was hella nice who helped me today... this location always has the best, most genuinely nice people working here. It's kind of a long and random story, but I needed a bunch of piñatas. I went to Walmart first, which had the usual, very basic and Disney licensed piñatas that cost 20-24$. This Smart & Final always has the cutest, more authentic, unlicensed piñatas for like, no joke, like $7. So, I usually grocery shop here, but today I was on my piñata mission and it was completed and highly successful due to this smart and final. read more

I'm a regular, at this store in Oroville. They are always helpful and professional. Picked up some things for Thanksgiving dinner. I started trying the First Street brands little by little a while back , but now I look for them because I haven't been let down yet. Walked in the door and there was a table with pies. I grabbed a pumpkin and an apple. First street of course, they were both good , but the pumpkin was just incredibly good. The flavor the crust and the texture. Everyone that had some commented on how good it was. I'm going back today to see if there's any left. And the thing is , the price (as usual) was very low compared to other stores. My fav grocery go to. Staff is courteous and helpful. The store is well organized and is kept clean! It's nice to go to a store that doesn't expect you to check yourself out. Ok besides the basic groceries that I never can find because they have the most strangest brands there. I literally can never find what I feel like every store basically has. I will say it's really clean but that's the most I could say. Every time I go through the line to pay nobody ever asks "how I'm doing or if I found everything OK? Nobody is professional. The last time I asked if they had something all I got was "it's over there" and pointed. They literally look at you like you're bothering them, and their demeanor is really unwelcoming. I literally have anxiety every time I feel like I need to go in there to find something because the workers are so unfriendly. I rarely go and when I do it's for the fruit for my daughter. My review is related to ordering online from this particular store. I don't know if the issue lies with the store or the delivery service, either way, they are responsible with how this epic failure of a delivery went. I have not given my business to a Smart and Final in over 20 years. I've had no need to, and since most of them disappeared, that's been pretty easy. Anyhow, I really really needed what I ordered to arrive by 7:00 p.m. yesterday , so I did not have to go searching for a brick-and-mortar store that carried the same thing , which I didn't have time to do, and decided just to look up if there was even a Smart & Final anywhere in this area. Oroville is 45 minutes from me and I was shocked when it said I could get same day delivery. I figured that was worth the $10 they were going to charge me. So I chose the first time slot they offered and they offered many yesterday. When 7:00 p.m. rolled around, which was the latest it was supposed to be delivered, and nothing was there. I tried to reach customer service which conveniently had already shut down. I waited for another hour till I left to go do the things I needed to do an hour prior, so I could bring the order inside, and nothing. Then Smart and Final had the nerve to send me a text about 5 hours after the order should have delivered, telling me that everything was delayed due to high demand and I'll get it this morning. This is after three emails demanding they refund me for everything. I couldn't believe they were seriously telling me this late after the fact that they couldn't get their acts together to deliver at a time they offered me. I was ready to blow a gasket if they had actually delivered this morning cuz I want nothing to do with these sick imbeciles! Luckily they refunded me. I have shopped this store a half a dozen times. It honestly is a hit or miss on the cashiers. The service I received from the guys are friendly and helpful but the women are a different story. One older lady talks about her personal life and wants breaks with other co workers turning around and actually stops scanning my items to finish her rant!! not paying attention to the customer in front of her. Then you have about 3 dark haired ladies. Who are just rude. I don't know if they feel threatened by a blonde, blue eye girl or what their deal is but they don't acknowledge or even say hello. Especially the older dark hair lady that wears a ton of eye makeup. She has Beaty little mouse eyes. I have heard them talking with other customers friendly and make small talk but not to pretty or attractive girls and trust me I have sat back and watched how to act with customers now. They defiantly have a click with each other. They share their personal life between each other which as a customer I rather have them focus on working and creating a welcome atmosphere in this store. I will start shopping Costco for the supplies I need from now on. No reason to have someone treat me with disrespect. read more

There is no medical condition that prevents a person from wearing a mask, and if the person truly can't wear a mask , then reasonable accommodations can be made such as curbside pickup . I was treated so rudely by the check out women yesterday - I will not EVER shop there again. I am disabled and have to use a cart to shop. When I rolled up to the checkout, I asked the checker if she would give me two tens for a twenty. I wanted to buy lottery tickets. She said she could and I laid the Twenty on the checkout, along with my debit card. She rang the groceries up [$40 and some cents] put them in a bag way out of my reach. She said her drawer didn't open to give me two tens. She then proceeded to wait on the customer behind me. When I asked if she was going to give me the two tens, she informed me I owed an additional $18.00 to clear my purchase. This turned out to be the customer behind me that owed the $18.00. I believe this customer also works for the store. She finally put my groceries in the cart, but the $20.00 was still on the counter. I was then told to MOVE OUT OF THE WAY for other customers. I took my money and left. I will not return. read more

The management of Smart and Final seems insistent on shooting themselves in the foot. When they first opened up, one of their biggest draws was their rotisserie chickens. Now, you go into the store after 5 pm, going on the dinner hours, and they are out of chickens. I have gone 6 different times only to find they are out. So I leave. When I shop, I spend on average over $200.00 per trip. When they have no chickens, someone else gets my money. I've talked to the clerks about it, its not their fault, its a corporate decision. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you quickly sell out of a popular item, you get more of that product. Very short sighted on managements part. It is costing you customers, more than you know. read more

It's a Covid thing. The foot prints on the floor are meant for customers to remain 6 feet apart, correct? I had put my items on the belt, the cashier asked me to move forward so the person behind me could put there stuff on the belt, I looked down to see where the foot prints were to make sure I wasn't to close and the cashier stated "you don't have to abide by those, those don't matter" I then inform her that it mattered to me. The person behind me did not seem like they were in much of a hurry. That is why Covid is still around and continues to spread. This smart and final is pretty nice and easy going. Every time I shopped here, I'm greeted by employees. Good varieties of food, drinks and candies! I do most of my shopping here to stock up, so it's very easy for me to access rather than going all the way to Chico. Over all, it's friendly and good store ;) read more

What a typical joke a$$ company in Oroville. Charging $6.99 a pound for USDA Select (one step above crap) meat?!?! WTF is your deal?? How about dropping your price point? My husband and I went to Smart & Final when a friend told us about it. We first went to buy produce since the other store we planned on shopping in does excel in that department. After seeing the good quality of produce, the clean store and well stocked we have shopped there rather than the other store ever since we went the first time. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I hope they get the large containers of animal crackers since I use them for goat treats but other than that I am very satisfied. read more

I was in buying a juice on my break when I saw an employee treated absolutely horrible by who I assume is a managed. A young boy being yelled at and talked down on by a grown women on a power trip. I'm disgusted she's allowed to berate employees at all, let alone in front of a line full of customers. Seriously, do better. This place just opened up in Oroville, and it's now my favorite place to shop. Less expensive than the other grocery stores in town - but a much nice place to shop than Walmart. Excellent meat and produce selection, and I haven't needed to shop in Chico since! (Costco's gonna miss my money lol). My only complaint - Their produce selection is excellent - however some of the veggies were a bit old - but pretty sure it was because they over-stocked due to the huge amount of traffic they received during their grand opening.
