I've been using Smart Levels Media since 2009 (Wow, July 9th, 2009 was our first order!) Their prices are REALLY GOOD, their service is SUPERB and their turnaround times are AWESOME. In 7 years there has never been ANY disappointment. I use them for business cards, postcards, stickers, promos and flyers. Last week I decided to try out doing the fancy Spot UV business card (The Primo) on silk laminated cardstock. Doing a Spot UV business card wasn't as easy as I thought...had to do some extra stuff. Ryan Evans stepped me through the entire way...we probably went back and forth with the emails at least 20 times. He was probably frustrated with me but never showed it and he never gave up on me. Haven't seen the finished product yet, but with my lack of skills I'm just happy that I learned how to produce these Spot UV silk laminated business cards. When starting a job, it's convenient to look at their site for printing options and then snag a template that has bleeds and safe areas already outlined for you. Select some options from a drop-down menu, upload your files and check the estimated completion time, all from the website. Need it faster? They offer rush service, and they're pretty realistic about the "fastest" service option being the soonest they could possibly get it done. What's more, if you're local you can swing by the shop to pick up; perfect for those who can't afford to wait for shipping. As a final point: if you're not confident in how something will look, order proofs. The shop's job is to produce the goods, not hold hands through the design process. My company has been using Smart Levels for the past 2 years for business cards. The staff is friendly, however it seems like there is no sense of urgency, care, and attentiveness to detail handling products for clients throughout the whole ordering process. I read some reviews on here that said Smart levels were able to complete a fairly quick turnaround to deliver business cards. So I reached out about printing some new ones and continue business with them. I reached out early May to have the designs figured out and setup and then was hoping to have them within 3 weeks tops. I was told normal turnaround is 9 business days, but if we get no spot UV and thinner standard cards that would be completed within one business day. I also asked if I can pick them up instead of shipping them to save time, but since they said the thinner cards would be done within 1 business day and will arrive before the deadline,I opted for the latter instead. There was alot of miscommunication in between: 1. Mockups: I had alot of edits and changes and given explanations including marking up the business card draft to make it very simple for the editors to change. The first mockup I received had alot of edits still missing that I requested and misspelled names even though I wrote all the text out very specifically. Ex. the mockup had "Client Executive Officer" instead of "Chief Executive Officer"or "Mathew" would be "Matthew." (I know he has one T). I'm not a professional graphic designer, however I'm pretty solid with photoshop and other design platforms. These edits are really, really simple to make. That already gave me the impression that they breezed through my notes and didn't really edit with care. - They did not update the POC client information even though I initially said that I will be taking over on behalf of the previous person who used to order. Because of this, the first mockup was sent to the wrong email and wasted 4 days. I had to check in everytime and asked. I was never contacted with a follow up. -Unfortunately later down the line, I asked them to check in on my order the day it was supposed to arrive, and they said their system didn't sort the cards properly or something. Even though I've said this is a priority and I need my order fast, they did GROUND shipping... So we ended up ordering $200 worth of business cards for nothing. -I received the cards in the mail, and the colors are drastically different. We ordered black business cards, the cards we received look almost like a charcoal color. It would be really helpful if Smart Levels can send a sample of cards so you can look at them in person before committing lots of money to not know what you're really going to get. Due the business cards not arriving as planned, they cooperated to not charge for the expedited set of cards, so I only paid for the original order. If you are going to order with Smart levels, make sure to order WAY in advance, check in constantly and let them know EXACTLY what you want again and again. Again, they are nice people! But I can't trust Smart Levels to handle my order with attentiveness, urgency, and care. I understand that they have many clients as well, however I shouldn't have to be the one to check in and be reaching out, worry about triple checking spelling on mockups. I'd expect the person handling my order to do that on my behalf, otherwise I'd just use Vistaprint and order/design make the edits myself. read more

I recently did a big banner printing job through Smart Levels for the big nonprofit that I work for. The banners were for a huge event at the LA Convention Center which drew an audience of 12,000--so the pressure was on. Smart Levels did a fantastic job, had the lowest prices of anywhere else I called (again, we are a nonprofit, we need bargains), and the service was incredible! They would call me to give me updates, understood my detailed directions, worked closely with me on artwork when they noticed anything off, and they were fast!
