I was in a car accident three years ago and struggled to find the right doctors to help me. I started with an orthopedic, who just wanted to medicate me. That was fine for a while but I try to steer clear of band aiding the actual issues or problems. From the accident, I got whiplash, a broken arm and my lower back got out of wack. My arm is fine now but my neck and lower back continued to give me issues. A couple of friends suggested that I go to a chiropractor. I was hesitant at first but went anyway. The first one I found was Ameriwell and they were not so nice! To boot, they were a bit too busy for me, where I had to wait, wait, wait. When I finally saw the doctors at Ameriwell, it was too quick with little explanation. I saw the doctor for 5 minutes or less. Not so cool! Another friend of mine suggested Smart Medical, thank God! They are awesome!!! Angela at the front desk could not be more helpful and so incredibly nice. Dr. Rubio, who is a God send in my opinion, explained everything that was going on with my body and why the pain was happening. She started me on a series of treatment, which was not bad at all then got into exercises, which I'm currently doing now. I still see Dr. Rubio but every 2 weeks. Next month, it will be once a month and we'll cut that down after that. I am hoping that by next Spring, I can get back into marathons. Unless you have been there, you can't imagine what a car accident can actually do to you. It affected me phsically, mentally and emotionally. This place saved me! I have suffered with back issues for years. Having lower back issues can be debilitating. I did sports in high school and college and it took a toll from injuries. As you age, wear and tear happens. I've learned this from going here. I work in IT, so I sit a lot. This is not good. Sit for 4 hours and stand for 4 hours. I now have a stand up desk. I've been going to SMART for 6 months now and I've gone from not being able to stand up straight, not being able to work out the way I want and not being able to be active to working out 5 days a week with little pain and being able to stretch like I did in my 30's. That's a huge deal in 6 months. I've also been able to work weights better than I have. I'm getting there but going at the very least once a month, has changed my life! I was in a car accident 5 years ago and it completely changed my life for the worst. I did PT and saw an orthopedic doctor back then but it never got completely better. I tried a chiropractor in Virginia 3 years ago but it just didn't do it for me. A friend of mine recommended SMART Medical. They are a bit far from where I live but I decide to try them. I've been going for the past year and what a huge difference. I had it in my mind that they could get me out of some pain but I didn't realize that they could get me out of all my pain and help me get my life back. Oddly enough, two years ago I went on a ride at an amusement park and got whiplash. I guess those rides can really jerk you enough to cause damage. I had a lot of neck pain and really didn't know what to do. A friend of mine recommended Smart Medical in Md. I live in VA but I work in Md, so it actually worked out. There was no waiting, the staff was amazing and they took my insurance. Angela at the front desk could not be any sweeter. I saw Dr. Rubio and she also is so sweet and very knowledgeable. She not only helped my neck but she showed me how to take care of my neck and my posture! OMG, I had no idea how bad my posture was. She said that social media is to blame and it's going to affect more people in the future. So, Chiropractic is a good call and it will help you realize how your standing and how it can affect your over all health. Especially as you age. I think Chiropractics are under rated. After suffering in pain for years, I was recommended by a friend to go to Smart Medical & Rehab Therapy. The very first appointment, they knew exactly what was wrong and was able to put a plan of action in place. 7 months later, I'm almost good as new. I'm in my 40's and well, with again, you start to feel more aches and pains on top of what you already have. 7 months ago, I was feeling like I was 80. Today, I fee like I'm in my early 30's. My movement is so much better and my pain is almost gone. Chiropractors know more about the muscles, ligaments and tendons than any other doctor. It's like they have x-ray vision and can see what's going on. I go every 2 weeks and as time goes on, that will lesson. Dr. Rubio is awesome. I've been going to here for lower back pain for almost a month now and I see a huge difference. I have been going to chriopractors off and on since the 90's. I was in a car accident back then. As I've aged, I have really started to feel it again. Every chiropractor is different and the ones I've seen have been okay but SMART Med is awesome. Dr. Rubio has been not only helping me but educating me about my spine and how important it is to keep moving. And stretching is also super important. Other chiropractors didn't tell me this much. I'm not sure why. But either way, Dr. Rubio is passionate about her job and she loves to help patients, from what I can see. I'm feeling a lot better now and I can now do exercises and activities that I have not been able to do for years. This office has helped me open my eyes up. The staff could not be any more friendly. I was in a car accident in 2004 where a car hit us from behind. I was the passenger and incurred neck, low back and shoulder issues. It was a horrible time in my life and over the years, I suffered tremendously with low back pain. I did other chiropractors, Acupuncture, PT, steroid shots, you name it. When my back goes out, Dr. Cornfield is the only one who can get me back to standing up straight and back to my life. He's helped me with a number of different exercises and also has me working on my posture which is unbelievably important, especially now a days with social media. This office is the only office that does objective functional testing in the area. FDA approved. So anyone who has been in an accident or has been injured should look into going. I was in a car accident just over a year ago. A couple months afterwards, I started to get headaches and dizziness. He's a bit of a quiet guy but he does seem to know his stuff. He is happy to answer questions. He is the only person that was able to help me to control and get rid of these symptoms. In 2015, I was in a car accident where I had a back injury as well as a seat belt injury. I also had daily head aches. I first went to my primary doctor and then to a specialist and they had me do PT and added some heavy pain meds. It really didn't help. A friend of mine then recommended Smart Med and I said, "what they heck, I'll try anything at this point". Well, after the first two visits my head ache was finally gone. After a month, both my shoulder, which was impinged and my back started to improve. They had amazing therapy treatments that I looked forward to and when my body was ready, they gave me great exercises to help build my muscles back. Less than a year later, I was back to myself. I was in a car accident in 2004 and hit from behind. The impact was great and it did a lot of damage to my lower back. I saw an orthopedic doctor and a spine specialist and had no luck. In 2010, I saw Dr. Cornfield and he finally got me on track to becoming pain free. Because we only have one spine and as we age, it tends to degenerate, I choose to go every 3-4 months to get an adjustment and to stay on track. It's not only helped me feel no pain but it's also helped my over all health. I've been able to finally get back into working out and it's helped my stretching. Great office to get adjusted. I started going to Smart Medical in 2016 for a car accident. They helped me out a lot. I didn't think I would recover 100% but I did. I now go every one to two months to get adjusted because it's actually helped my body in a number of ways, including increasing work outs, preventing or helping injuries, helping my posture, helping my allergies and more. I have a very busy schedule during the week, so this was very helpful to me. Their doctors are so nice and incredible. I have particularly been seeing Dr. Miao the past couple of weeks and I have experienced a major difference. The lawyers that I hired tried to push me to conventional medicine but I wouldn't have it because of my beliefs in all natural therapies. Although, they do have a great Neurologist there. Dr. Syme is the man. He comes across quiet but will tell you what is going on and how to solve it. I was in a car accident 15 years ago and ever since, I've had migraines and ringing in my ear. Great office for injury related issues. I was in a car accident 1 years ago and I see both Dr. Rubio (chiropractor) and Dr. Syme (neurologist) and they helped me greatly. I had whiplash and had low back issues. The whiplash ended up being a slight head trauma and with their advanced TBI technology testing, they have been able to help me. This practice is far from me but well worth the drive. I see a more local chiropractor but when I'm hurting really bad and my normal chiro can't bet me into that right spot, I go see Dr. Cornfield. I had a very bad work injury and the doctors at Smart Medical and Rehab really helped me out a lot. I actually saw both the Neurologist and the Chiropractor throughout the entire process, first starting with the Chiropractor, then the Neurologist and then back to the Chiropractor for PT. The injury left me out of work for two months and after six months, I am back in action. I am very thankful to everyone at Smart Med.
