My only complaint is the stupid temp check. My child has many problems, extreme anxiety being one of them and her temp shows as high because she's upset about the temp checks and gets herself worked up and crying on the way there. All employees and clients should be vaccinated or not allowed inside. The cdc as well as every intelligent person who knows anything at all about anything but this is just covid at the moment we're talking about. Most people with covid don't show symptoms if they do, including a fever, they've been contagious for days and have already infected everyone. So instead of the useless temp check it should be mandatory vaccination for all. TLC took clients to be vaccinated. I personally thank them and wish everyone would just get vaccinated and shut up with the nonsense. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.

Mostly good overall, but my main complaint with Texas A&M University (Kingsville location in…read moreparticular) has to do with human resources leadership here. The university itself is actually an excellent educational institution and has diverse faculty and curriculum for those students wanting to explore different academic majors. The campus itself is also beautiful and the university system has clearly invested a lot of time and resources (and money) into beautifying the entire complex. Also, the university's handling of the Covid-19 crisis has been spot on. Employee and student safety is a big focus here. Now for the one, main negative: human resources leadership here which really isn't fair or objective. The guy in charge of human resources here (specifically, Henry Burgos) doesn't seem very caring or sincere, and instead, seems to have a really sour, haughty - almost hateful and spiteful demeanor! This guy, Henry, did absolutely nothing at all to help me resolve some very complex workplace issues which I'd brought to his attention during my employment here at this university. I won't bore you all with any of the exact or specific details centering around a lot of the continual bullying and harassment which I'd faced and experienced while working here. Those really wouldn't be all that important anyways. Suffice it to say though, that some of the very serious complaints which I'd brought to Henry Burgos' attention during my employment here including: managers tampering with employees' files, blatant breach of confidentiality, rather perverse forms of sexual harassment (including those being perpetrated by certain managers), deliberate bullying and intimidation, targeting of me as an employee, and clear retaliation (as a result of me having reported those unethical managers' behaviors in the first place) had essentially fallen on deaf ears, over and over and over again..... During my very first meeting with Henry Burgos (and this still stands out in my mind even to this day because it was SUCH obnoxiously rude and disrespectful conduct on his part to begin with, that I still cannot wrap my mind around it), this man didn't even acknowledge me for several minutes, stand up to shake my hand, extend a warm or welcoming greeting to me as any other true HR professional would do, or thank me for coming to his office to meet with him, et cetera. None of that type of cordial, warm, professional, engaging behavior which you'd expect in a true HR professional had ever been extended to me, by Henry. And in fact, for several minutes during that very first meeting with him, I distinctly remember Henry deliberately ignoring me, staring down at his work phone, typing away feverishly on the phone's keypad, and then finally (as if he were doing me some sort of honor or granting me a favor which was worthy of his time), finally had the decency to 'usher' me into his office to record my employment complaint. Honestly, it had felt so weird and awkward, me just standing there in this stranger's office without even being acknowledged or politely greeted, a definite first for me in my lifetime. I'd never been treated that way by any other human being, prior to this encounter with him. But anyways, that was what my very first (of many future) negative interactions with him had entailed. Aside from that however, were also some of the really rude (downright mean-spirited) types of e-mail messages which he used to frequently send back to me, typically, in response to me checking on the status of my workplace grievance, ability to transfer to another department with a different manager to essentially break free of this perpetual harassment, et cetera. Some of those e-mails had been so curtly and disrespectfully worded, that the naieve optimist in me still doesn't believe to this day that they'd actually been written by a "human resources professional" in the first place. LOL. Yet the worst part of my employment here at Texas A&M Kingsville was Henry Burgos' categorical refusal to offer me any type of assistance whatsoever, with respects to my workplace grievance. All my complaints, like I'd indicated above, routinely fell on deaf ears (his) over and over again, without even the slightest iota of assistance being provided from him in "human" resources to me, as a human employee. There's a lot more negative stuff which I could include about human resources leadership here at this university. However, since the character count here on my Yelp review might be running out of space, let me just wrap this up by saying that overall, this is a great university in most regards and respects, EXCEPT for their human resources leadership (Kingsville site, specifically) which in all honesty, I personally feel isn't even halfway qualified to be in a "human" resources leadership capacity, to begin with. Quite honestly, with fresh, new HR leadership here, this would probably have the potential to become one of the best universities in all of Texas.

I can come in and out, see her talking to literally everyone else, but never speaks to me. This morning I stood at the door and said "bye, thank you!" Three times and was blatantly ignored. Another girl heard me (after slightly yelling the third time) and said "thank you, bye!" With a smile, but still nothing from the front desk lady. It is very frustrating that there isn't even common courtesy given by this person, especially when you see her talking to other people like they're best friends. The staff is so caring and they are almost as excited as I am when he reaches another milestone. I am also a breastfeeding mom and the teachers are knowledgeable about the proper storage and handling of breast milk. They even learned paced bottle feeding to help my son maintain his desire to breast feed. I feel very fortunate to have found such a great place to leave my child.
