When Buy for Less moved across the street and took over Albertson's, I didn't go in there for a few years because I thought they only offered off-brand items. My husband stopped in there a few times and told me about good deals he received, so I thought I would give it a try. Their name is deceiving. They offer not only name brand groceries, but they also carry many organics and vegetarian and vegan options and they also have several items for those who follow the non-glucose fad. When I've requested something special such as water cress, broccoli raab, non-dairy yogurt, or egg replacer, they have gone out of their way to order the item for their store. The staff is very helpful in trying to ensure that they carry what I need so that I don't have to make the trip to Whole Foods, which is a 40 minute drive. However, I believe that not enough people are aware of the options that Buy for Less now carries because a lot of the organic items and produce are either expired or bad. I tried to find granola with fruit and every bag expired in December, 2013. It's now March, 2014. I brought home some egg roll wrappers and took them out to make egg rolls but they had expired months earlier. Also, my daughter and I got sick from the shiitake mushrooms and from the bean sprouts, even though we washed them and cooked them before using. Perhaps if more vegetarians like myself or people with dairy and soy allergies like my daughter were to start shopping at the store, they would be able to keep up to date on their products and only offer items that are fresh. For now, we avoid the produce area unless it's something generic like apples and I look at the dates on everything that I pick up to make sure that it's not already expired. Because of the helpfulness of the staff and their desire to supply what the public needs, I would like to see more people shopping organic at the store so that I can feel secure that their products are being rotated. I also think that they should consider changing their name. They're not a discount type store because the prices are almost the same as Whole Foods. I'm confused about the identity they are trying to achieve. read more

I haven't been to this BFL in about a couple years after I moved away from living less than a mile from here. I always liked their little selection of artisan or gourmet cheeses, and their small selection of organic produce and packaged items. I recently came back here two days ago since my parents store is down the street, and I needed milk before the freeze came. I couldn't believe how much more organic and natural items they had! They now carried my two favorite ice cream brands (three twins and talenti), udi's gluten free bread, Amy's frozen foods, memory lane milk, organic valley creamer, chai tea latte concentrate, kiss my face products, and more! I go to my parents store five days out of the week to give my baby boy a ride in the car so, definitely will be a regular! Glad I stopped in! read more

The Great Grains bakery here is very good. I have used this bakery for work functions in the past. They also serve individual slices of cake. They take orders and have a selection of cakes to decorate. Cake are made fresh here and the decorators do their job well, no "cake wrek" cakes here. Give them a try next time you have a sweet tooth or need a cake for a kids birthday or for work. They also do nice wedding cakes. They have a impressive deli selection with many meals, salads, and sandwiches ready to go. read more

This Buy-For-Less location is awesome, because it has a Bank of Oklahoma inside, a RedBox kiosk, a TON of cheap soda vending machines outside, and they have a massive selection of exotic cheese. Awesome. read more

This is a nice store. The prices are in line with others around(which is still high compared to the prices in Dallas). The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The layout of the store is simple and inviting. They seems to have all the staples. Store is clean and well lit. They always seems to have some kind of group out front trying to raise money(Girl Scouts, Etc) so props for their civic mindedness. Whenever home visiting Mom this will be my first stop for the essentials. read more

I love this store! This store is walking distance from my home, which my family and I do utilize our legs on occasion to travel to the store for exercise. The customer service is phenomenal! The customer service is by far my favorite part of shopping here! The employees are always very helpful whenever I can't find the items that I am needing. I love that I can go there and find items like turkey legs, lamb, and papayas. The bakery has provided me with excellent service every time that I've needed to order a cake. I'm visiting the area meeting family and I was sent on an errand to buy groceries. This Buy for Less was well stocked and very clean it even had a full service Bank Of Oklahoma inside. I was very happy with the prices and the customer service was just fine. Not very busy and I got what I need with no problems. Good Selection. read more

The grocery stores in the Oklahoma city area are absolutely awful. The people who shop at these stores must not be aware that there are MUCH better quality grocery stores in the world!!!! The quality of the produce at the BFL in midwest city, ok is terrible and the prices are HIGH. The produce quality is also bad. Chains like KROGER and SPROUTS have such an unbelievable better quality and PRICE than BUY FOR LESS. I wish SPROUTS was located more centrally in OKC. I avoid going to BFL ... read more

We just had by far the worst customer service experience at this store. We went to the customer service desk to buy a lottery ticket...First of all, we stood there and was told that she had more stuff to do and she'd be back and she asked "what do you want?"...just left us standing...Then when she finally came back we told her we have never bought a ticket before and asked how we went about doing it. We had $10 cash to spend. The customer service worker said "I've never played in my life." She was NO help. With her knowing we had just $10 cash to spend she went and the power play was put on which brought the total to $15. She took our tickets and our $10 until she got her $5 and was extremely, extremely rude! Her name was WENDY. We will NEVER visit this location again..and we were frequent shoppers. Very disappointed to say the least. If I were management I would think about putting someone else in the spot for customer service because you just lost a loyal customer because of that women. read more
