I was going to trade my phone in to T-Mobile and after changing my screen with their aftermarket screen and them telling me there would be no problems and they have been there for 10 years with no problems. So T-Mobile immediately tells me that doing my phone screen with a mom and pop shop will void the warranty. I tell them and they said don't tell T-Mobile and just go to another store. They left it at that and said since it was still functioning they couldn't do much. Well today the LCD completely went out and you can see it failed clearly. They mentioned you have warranty but they don't keep their word ! Because now they're asking to pay for a brand new replacement when we already paid and this should be covered under warranty because it's clearly a defective part !! I called and talked to the main guy and told him I had 5 phones and wanted to just get the photos off and onto a hard drive asked how much told me $100 I said okay great.. brought them in the next day. 2 weeks later I was going on a trip so called for a update told me they weren't done so I told them okay I'll call when I get back. Two weeks later I get back from my trip called still not done and I just kept getting told the next day they will call me and never got a call.. finally I go pick up after them having my phones for over a month, they then say oh it's $100 per phone but we will do $80 per device so I was frustrated but whatever I paid it. I get home and for one of the phones they took 4 photos off it and still charged me the $80 even though it was the same four photos from a different device. I should have left this review a long, long time ago - like nine months ago, but... life. Anyway, Smartfix is the place to go to get your tablet, well, fixed. My trusty (read: antique) Galaxy Tab 2 (yes 2) decided that it wasn't going to charge properly. After trying to deal with the problem myself by getting a new cord (and having that not work), I decided to do some research and find a place to take my ailing baby. While Smartfix was not the cheapest place (nor was it the priciest), it was THE BEST as far as customer service and willingness to get the job done right. There are A LOT of SHADY places you can take your stuff to (and I think I talked to all of them... ugh), but I wanted a place that would not jerk me around and that would stand behind their work. --SMARTFIX IS THAT PLACE!-- After the tech inspected my tablet, I was told what the problem was (technical words and soldering were involved), was charged for the repair, and was told when I could come back to pick up my fixed tablet the next day. During the repair, however, it was discovered that I needed a new charging port. Smartfix stood by their original price and didn't charge me any more than I was originally charged! I was updated by Smart fix staff every step of the way via email and text. When there was a problem with parts received from the distributer, I was assured that new parts would be ordered and installed immediately. Again - no extra charge or charge and then reimbursement or any of that kind of nonsense. Joe and staff (sorry, I can't remember the names of the amazing lady I spoke with many times and kind gentleman who helped me initially at the counter) were great! Very unsatisfied paid a lot of money for my sons IPhone 7 plus to get fixed because it wasn't charging and he said it was unable to get fixed. I still owe Verizon $600 for the phone. I sold it on eBay for $200 for parts and the person who bought it said it was an easy fix. A defaulted battery and charging ic chip wasn't working. Sooooooo, my darling 7 year old decided to try to plug our iPad mini charger in while hiding in her room in the dark with it and no surprise! Broke the tip of the charger off inside. With tears in her eyes and fear she wouldn't live to see the age of 8...she confessed her misdeed. She luckily caught me on a good day. I googled how to get it out, and after 5 minutes I decided a professional was in order because she REALLY jammed that thing in there. I took to Facebook and our local 411 type pages to find a repair place, and based on friends' recommendations and other reviews I messaged Smart Fix. Within minutes I was answered and upon explaining my issue, I was assured they could fix it, so I made an appointment for the following day. Joe, the gentleman I was chatting with about it on Facebook made sure to personally come in and talk to me, explained how he'd try to fix it, and what the last resort (aka more $$) would be. He worked with me on cost, and I paid a middle amount between the easy fix and the hard fix, with a promise of a refund if the easy fix worked. Let's face it, I knew I was in for the higher cost, that thing was JAMMED. I'm not tech naive, so I appreciated the fact he'd at least give the quick fix a shot. We shared a nice conversation while he was ringing up the deposit....helping me to give my 7 year old playful ribbing about all the things she has to miss out on cuz mommy had to pay to fix what happened. Although I'm sure other people might want their item fixed in a day, and I'm guessing they will accommodate dire situations, I suggested a Friday (basically a week) pick up. Rather they took the time to work on it instead of rushing and possibly causing more to happen that I'd have to pay for. Got it back today and it's working great. Charging fine. They oopsed and put a tempered glass protector on it that I didn't ask for...and due to it being their error, didn't charge me and left it on. (WOW! Thank you!!)
