I've been to Smashburger a couple times and seems like it's pretty consistent. The only time I go crazy for burgers is in these types of burger joints or if a restaurant is really well known for them. It's got a lot of varieties for burgers and lets you build your own, which is always cool for those who like to get creative. For review purposes I stuck with the Classic Smash-- pretty standard burger and cheese with lettuce, tomato, and onion with ketchup and pickles. All in all it's a decent burger, but I wasn't blown away by it. The burger tasted like a more fresh version of Burger King. As for the fries, they need to step their game up. There was nothing exciting about these fries. There was no seasoning besides salt and they were barely bigger than the width of a toothpick. I loathe skinny fries! If you're looking for a great burger in this area, I'd hit up Five Guys which is on the opposite side of the mall. read more

OK. They messed up my order and gave me bacon. They were slow taking orders... Only one register open. You can't specify how you want your burger cooked. Not anywhere close to a Five Guys or homemade burger. They do have Very good milkshakes. read more

Let me just say this is the first time I have ever returned to a restaurant two days in a row. The juice of the burger .....when I took my first bite .... dripped down my elbow and I almost licked it off. My first visit ever to a Smash Burger. The fries were delicious - crispy, hot and perfectly salted - the burger not so much. Way WAY too salty and so sloppy and greasy I nearly needed a spoon to eat it. The bun completely disintegrated from the grease, mustard and ketchup on my sandwich. Overpriced for what you get. I ordered the large sweet potato fries to share; barely enough for one person. I even confirmed with the waitress that this was a large portion. Ridiculous to charge $3.50 for this. The grilled chicken sandwich was no more than 3 ounces and had no flavor. It was as thin as a pancake. Won't order this again. Tip: change your menu so it tells people what size the regular and the large size burger is: there is absolutely no way that a regular was more than 4 ounces; it was tiny compared to what you're paying for. Tell people what smashed fries are on your menu. It speeds up the ordering process. It felt like it was over 100 degrees standing in line to order. Please have your hvac checked. I'll start with the food. Burger was good flavor was good. Fries were a little on the skimpy side. So the reason I gave them 1 star is the restaurant was dirty to say the least. Someone did come around to clear the tables but neglected to actually Wipe the table down... Not sure if they own a broom either. The worst part of the experience was the girl at the register. She could not have been any ruder. Every question I asked, she rolled her eyes as she answered me. I couldn't even hear her answer and when I said .. My husband and I have been on a quest for a great burger. Smashburger delivered a very good burger experience. The beef burger was fresh and a little crispy on the edges but still moist and juicy. They offer a nice selection of proteins, buns, and fresh toppings. The french fries were tasty (not greasy or over salted). My only complaint was that the burger was a little thin. Next time we will order a double. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. read more

No one knows this is everywhere. I've been here 3 times as it is popular with my business friends for lunch. I liked Elevation Burger at the Morristown Mall much better, which is now closed. It's $12 for a burger, basic fries and a drink. It's clean, but has a very ubiquitous character. I'm not sure if I'm in California, the 50's, or a corporate cafeteria. The buns are too light, even the whole wheat bun. They have a gluten free bun, but I wouldn't say that they have healthy options overall. I'd rate the food as acceptable. With the cool name and being a burger joint, it just feels like this concept should be a much better experience. read more

Was disappointed when Taconellis had to move from this location but ok knowing there'd b another burger place...I went in around 440 for lunch n took a look at the menu as I approached the register...1st time here n when I asked what's good I was told to check out the sin burger (which isn't on the menu)...it comes with bacon, cheese, fried onion strings, n a fried egg (I opted not to get the grilled onions) but added jalepenos n the guy gave me sum chipotle mayo sauce on the side...I got the plain shoestring fries which were ok...n the peanut butter n jelly shake which was pretty good but wished it wasn't just one siZe...so the burger I was told wld give me a heart attack n I may hav missed a few of the toppings but once I started eating it I knew this wld never be apart of my diet...it was pretty good, filling unhealthy meal lol. I'd give this 3.5 stars. MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED! Food was good. The manager dropped my burger and fries off to the table And told me my milkshake would be out in a minute. When she came back with the shake I pointed out to her that I did not receive smash fries. She told me I ordered regular Fry's I had to get my receipt out and show her. she took the fries back and while I was waiting I tasted my milkshake, it was Vanilla not strawberry like I ordered. I took the shake and told her this is not strawberry; she said yes it is; at this point the cashier who waited on me reached back and grabbed the fries. I went to grab them from him, And she stopped him and preceded to correct him in front of me. I grabbed MY fries from the cashier and sat down and began eating, a few minutes passed and she came to the table and offered to remake the milkshake. Always find it strange when my experience differs from the majority of others so drastically. While I had to think twice after seeing that Smashburger gets only 3 out of 5 stars, I have to call it like I see it from my perspective. Secondly, I have to review Smashburger in context, meaning I'm not going to compare it to a place like Village Whiskey. It's not as good as Village Whiskey, this is a fast food hamburger joint. I'm going to review it for what it is. We loved. We thought the burgers were among the best we've had in similar burger joints. The burgers are great and I think compare favorably to Five Guys. I would give the edge to Smashburger. We also thought the fries were excellent and compared favorably to Five Guys. There is nothing to complain about here as far as I'm concerned. Great burgers, great fries, great drinks. Pricier than I'd like, but it keeps the McDonalds crowd away, so it's worth it. Solid shakes, quality food for a chain. There are some decent coupons to be had if you look around, so do some Googling before you visit. You won't be disappointed! read more

Today marked my third visit to Smashburger. My girlfriend and I got a large burger, harvest salad, some fried pickles and split a drink. $18. As always, the food was ready quick and the service was surprisingly friendly! Sheron took great care of us, addressed my girlfriends vegetarian needs, and helped make a good meal great. The salads are huge and tasty, and their burgers are legit. Wanted to grab a shake on the way out but was plenty full, will try one next time. Also thought it was really cool that they offer a "local" burger that is sourced from nearby farms. Didn't know till after we ordered, so will check it out next time. I wanted to try this burger place. I was in on a Sunday afternoon, literally 1 person in the restaurant and 4 guys ordering in front of me. The staff did an amazing job of making sure they did not turn around to acknowledge me; I waited for a while and when I realized the guy standing in front of the kitchen checking his cell phone wasn't going to turn around; and the girl who kept wandering back and forth, again doing an incredible job of not looking at me, I left. Sorry guys, I hate trashing a local business ... but ...I also hate wasting my money. Last few times I have gone to this location I was disappointed. I had worked a long day and just wanted a burger and those (used to be) great tasting haystack onions. Ordered online ... and just like the last time, though I pre-ordered and prepaid I had to wait a good ten minutes for my food . When I got to the restaurant, which was only occupied along the front window seats, just like the last time, I watched the cooks and wait staff open and repack my food several times. WHAT??? I was finally offered a bag filled to the top and seeping with grease. I was more than a little disgusted. When I arrived home - a less than 10 minute drive - I opened my greasy bag to find the fries and onions had been tossed in upside down and were spilled all over the bottom of the bag. Further the napkins they so thoughtfully packed inside were totally sopping wet with grease (well, to be fair I guess it was oil). The fries were soggy. The Haystack onions were one soggy lump. The burger was dry and the bun soggy as well. Sorry guys. No more chances for you. Get your act together! This is a good size franchise. Went there for lunch on a weekday. Service was pretty friendly but the staff seemed like their heads were in more "important" matters. Burger was nothing really special to be honest. Patty was flat and not at all juicy. Onion straws were good though, but they don't really need that dipping sauce bc it just adds a weird flavor to them. Place was very clean.
