You won't find a better quality of doodles. Their commitment begins with the selection of dogs in allowed in the breeding program, and it continues with top notch areas for each stage of puppy development, charting daily to monitor each puppy's growth. They offer lots of services from prep school to puppy delivery. If you choose prep school you'll receive a weekly video of your pup with excellent info for when you bring your furbaby home. Our grandson has special needs and they were very receptive and accommodating in meeting our particular needs. Thank you Smeralgia. I'm sure we will be returning clients. Elizabeth (Beth) M.

Our story began almost a year ago when we met a beautiful dog named Duke in an airport. Duke was traveling to his new home in NY. We were so captivated by the beauty and demeanor of this dog that when it was time to look for a dog, we remembered to search "teddy bear golden doodle" and sure enough found Smeraglia's! When I first called to inquire all I had to do was tell them the name of the dog and the date I saw him travel. Within a half a second Sherri knew exactly which litter! Based on our particular preferences, for us , she suggested the Carrington litter. Through our process we found everyone completely personal and honest. Being so far away in DC, it almost seemed too good to be true! We selected our puppy based on the temperament traits they provided and they were right on target with every single one of their recommendations. Our little boy "Blue" arrived during the COVID shut down and we think he is the most beautiful blessing we ever could have asked for! He is 100% healthy and happy. In the future, on his way to using his special snuggle powers to make others happy by volunteering his cuteness. Our only negative was the transport of the puppy. Due to COVID it was impossible for us to get to Alabama or the dog to fly to us. After our transaction we were offered a "Doodle Uber." The price and conditions of paying for the driver hotel had us scratching our heads and an experienced moment of panic at the last minute since we had never met Sherri and our process was honestly too good to be true. Looking back on the experience, Sherri and her team were trying desperately to move mountains so people could receive their dogs. So much so, Sherri even gave us the name of another person (retired NAVY) who transported the dog for us instead. It all worked out and in the end I hold Smeraglia to the highest regard. They are completely ethical, genuinely kind and nice. They were also extremely patient when we had a panic attack at the end but were willing to be open with communication. Our dog is absolutely beautiful and 100% healthy. And they are serious when they tell you everywhere you go someone will ask where you got your dog! I can't tell you how many times we have answered that question!

We received our first Smeraglia Schnoodle as a gift 10 months ago. Beau will be a year this month. He is the sweetest cuddle baby. We can and do take him everywhere. He just loves people and has brought us so much joy we just had to get him a friend. In July we got our second Smeraglia baby Schnoodle Ollie. He is a cute hot mess. He just loves to talk to you and give kisses. He would rather be lounging out in the back yard, playing in the mud and gossiping with the neighborhood dogs than going places. We love Smeraglia and everyone has been so supportive and helpful.

If I could give 10 stars it would not be enough to share the amazing experience I have had with my new puppy. Teddy bear golden doodles (Smeraglia's enterprises). From beginning to end there has not yet been one thing that was a flag or made me feel as if I wasn't the only Client they have. I want to start with the office Sabrina and Sara and everyone there, I must've called 50 times and each time I was treated with respect and got all the attention and answered questions that I needed without one sigh. They were so thorough. I want to thank Carol for searching for my puppy for me and for taking such an interest as did everyone... in my receiving the exact puppy that was meant for me. Joy my puppies trainer what an amazing human being & trainer. Joy went above and beyond and was always available to me to help me walk through any questions I had and show me the ropes of training. I also know she brought my baby into her home and made her part of her family and to me that's priceless you just can't put a number on that. This is the most professional outstanding dog loving place I have ever witnessed. If you are lucky enough to get a doodle from them you will be thrilled from beginning to end. I could go on for hours letting you know how amazing each and everyone of the people there are. And that's to include the owner who I don't know personally and have not met but feel personal with her simply because of her videos and her updates etc. on Instagram. You can't do better. Here are some pictures of my baby after a couple weeks of training. Joy, thank you beyond measure for everything. You are a godsend and I'm very grateful for all the time that you've given me as a scared new big dog owner. I just cannot say enough. Thank you everyone. What an amazing place, all those puppies are lucky and loved. It's clean caring it's just a phenomenal loving environment for the animals. My daughter also got a puppy at Smeraglia's enterprises and she felt the same way. It is a whole experience getting a dog from them! Blessings to you all.

Fabulous Golden Doodle. I was offered training for him, and told how.much it would benefit him! Being older and having to come up with the money was a little tough, but we had him go on, thinking how much he was learning. Watching his little Video every week, it did seem like he 21was just repeating the same thing, every week. After spending 9 or even 11,000, he came home and he could have learned, what he knew by taking him to a 4 week Puppy class. He had no clue, how to play and bring it back,(fetch)! I have called a few times and nobody really cares! I had one of the trainers tell me that if she paid the amount of money that we did, she would expect the dog to go and get her a Beer... I suspect that he was only out training, for 1 hour a day because the trainer has many puppies to train each day! I read tonight that the program was started to benefit the owners. With the fortune they are earning, it is Sherry, getting Rich on it! Now, I am reading that they make certain, puppies have a mandatory, training. The puppies are very well bred and taken care of, al so, very, Good looking!!! read more
Our experience with Smeraglia's was MOSTLY positive. We now have a great new member of the family, a Teddy Bear Golden Doodle (We named him "Blue" after the guy from the movie Old School). Their puppies are beautiful, but don't let that be the only influence on your decision. I'm sure they're nice people, but sort of like those "Bless Your Heart" ladies from that show "Designing Women!" They care...but they don't really care. Does that make sense? Other reviewers wrote about a $75 "convenience fee" and I can't remember if it was charged because we used a credit card to pay online or because it was a Tuesday (either way it didn't make a lick of sense). And stay away from their "Doodle Uber" service. They'll spring that whole fiasco on you AFTER you pay for your puppy! We ended up hiring a gentleman (that they recommended) and he charged half as much as "Doodle Uber." Their price was $600+ dollars to drive to point "A", then an additional $1 or a $1.50 per mile after that, PLUS a hotel fee! (and I say their as in it's their service, even though we were told it's a "separate business" owned by a family member). Overall, the "Doodle Uber" would have cost literally an additional 40% (of the actual cost of the puppy)! If you're looking for a particular type of "Doodle" and after looking at the website you think these folks can provide THAT dog, go for it! But go in with your eyes open and ask a lot of questions! And if you can, pick up the puppy yourself! When we look at our puppy "Blue" we are happy we followed through on this purchase (believe me, we were on the brink of canceling, but I wouldn't be able to face our 8-year old, had I done so). We now have two beautiful puppies, one from Smeraglia's and a Bernedoodle from Crockett Doodles (which arrived two weeks before Blue). The customer service experiences were as different as night and day...but BOTH puppies are great additions to our family! read more

Communications after the sale is horrible. I've called at least 8 times with 2returned calls. My puppy is not the size or energy level that I requested. I was told she would by 10-12 inches full grown. She is already that size at 4 months. Hayley my "puppy specialist" did not listen to my requirements/ requests . I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

This is our 2nd dog from Smeraglia. Our first was 14 years ago when we bought a rehomed miniature schnoodle (wookie coated) named Harper. She was and is a wonderful dog. Harper is 15 1/2 years old now! We wanted another one like her so I contacted Smeraglia and chose a brown parti miniature schnoodle. When the puppy was delivered, I questioned the driver because she did not look at all like the photo. She was large for her age and was white with very black spots, not brown. I contacted Smeraglia several times and they NEVER responded! I did a DNA test and she is also 30% standard poodle and only 10% schnauzer. This explains why she is so much bigger than Harper and her purported parents. Technically she is a schnoodle, but definitely not the puppy we ordered. We love her and she is a great puppy, however, Smeraglia is NOT an ethical breeder. I have since read that many other people have similar complaints. In addition, they have changed their name. I would not recommend them at all. read more

We got a "twoodle" (Golden doodle bred with snoodle) from the breeder in Jan 2019 when he was slightly older (I believe he was 4-5 months when I picked him up). Cost was over $5K and included some training. I have hesitated to write this review because some dogs are just wild puppies and eventually grow up and chill out. Our dog is over 5 years old and completely neurotic. I have tried Prozac and trazadone to try to get him to just relax. I have had several vets tell me his behavior is not normal. He is so anxious that he can't ever settle. I have done extensive training programs not once but twice (exclusive of his original training) and I still can't walk him on a leash without him pulling himself until he chokes. Because there was no effort to introduce his parents or even show any of their adult dogs, I can't help but feel this breeder is running a puppy mill and I say this after 5 years of owning my dog. His issues feel like that of an inbred and poorly socialized puppy. If you are thinking of getting a puppy from them, please ask the right questions. Ask to see the parents. Ask about socialization. Ask about temperament. The beautiful pictures are one thing but what you get IRL is not a still photo. read more

Smeraglia's dogs are probably some of the best well bred, well cared for and healthiest pups that I've ever seen. Sherry knows exactly what she is doing and her team is impeccable in what they do. I've been around dog shows, obedience trials and hunt tests and I've never seen such effort put into the care of these pups. My family and I are excited to get one of these outstanding puppies sometime in February. If you want a well bred goldendoodle, I would not hesitate to go to Alabama and get one for yourself. read more

We picked up our dog on April 12, having been given no information about the dog's health, other than take her to a doctor within a week. Soon after leaving the breeder, our dog had a deep guttural cough. After the trip to the doctor, we learned that she had kennel cough, which she still has more than 1 month later. I wrote Smeraglia for an explanation as to what accountability they have related to delivering a dog that was noticeably sick. Smeraglia wrote let's talk, but I want a response in writing. Smeraglia has never responded. The dog maybe a gem, if she hopefully recovers. read more

Although I am leaving the original star rating for the company, on June 18th we finally received a reimbursement for our puppy. The check was dated June 14th and postmarked June 15th which is contrary to all that was said about it being sent May 25th. I am still disappointed in the way this all transpired, a dog that has underlying health conditions should not be bred because this could happen again to someone else but at least they stepped up. Unfortunately, my baby girl is not with us and nothing will replace her. read more

My wife suffers from acute anxiety, panic attacks and depression to 3 deaths in our family, including our son, within a period of 2 months last year. She has been under doctors care for over a year and medication has brought sporadic relief at best. She had to quit her job at the hospital and is unable to drive or go out of the house without me accompanying her, Her doctors recommended that she might benefit from a psychiatric service dog in hopes of enabling her to return to some type of normalcy and peace. We came across Smeraglia after months of searching and decided on a schnoodle that had been identified on their website as "potential therapy" dog. After speaking with the staff there, they assured us that this schnoodle would make an excellent service dog. We purchased this puppy on 5/25; however, we paid an additional $11,000 for 16 weeks of training. Our plan was that once our pup went through the training and we were able to pick her up, she would be enrolled in a local facility in Texas that specializes in the training of service animals. Charity was our trainer and we were appreciative of her weekly videos and her availability to text/email/call if we had questions. From the videos, it appeared that our puppy was well trained and obedient. Approximately 2 weeks before our pick-up day, we were informed by Charity that our dog was displaying higher than normal energy levels and testing her boundaries, such as jumping on furniture, not listening to commands, etc. She said she spoke with the head trainer and was informed that this was not unusual and energy levels and behavior would worsen. According to their website, this was supposedly a low energy dog. This was our first clue that things were going awry but we had already committed money and resources for this dog. On the day of pick-up, we met with Charity and was given a schedule that Charity had our pup on. She stated we may experience some puppy regression as this was not uncommon. We expected at least a welcome or thank you from the owner but because it was Mrs. Smeraglia's birthday, we actually did not meet, but briefly, her and Sherri. There was a total of perhaps two sentences uttered by Sherri in a rather haughty tone. We expected a better experience that a brush off from the owners and speaks of poor business acumen. Once we got our pup back home, she was urinating and defecating on the carpet constantly even though we were taking her out often and always supervised. Supposed part of her 16 week course was crate and potty training. She protested vigorously when placed in her crate, to the point that our neighbors could hear her barking and howling from their house. Not 2 days after pick-up, we were on the phone with Charity. Our so called trained puppy was acting so badly that my wife's panic attacks worsened considerably and she had to be taken to the ER. Charity sent us information on potty training and that water was to be limited to 4-6 oz of which she could drink within 20-30 seconds. Only after a long walk could she have as much water she wanted. We were also put in touch with another individual at Smergalia because we felt the amount of money for training that we spent was not equal to what we received and we wanted a refund. We are still playing phone/email tag with that individual. As our pup's behavior continued to decline, my wife's panic attacks escalated and her medical team informed us that more aggressive treatments were needed due to the mounting stress. I myself have been recently hospitalized due to my history of 5 mini strokes in July. On our initial visit to our vet after picking up our pup, we were told she had a very bad ear infection. It took over a month and a half to treat. That had not been mentioned in the letter from Smeraglia's veterinarian certifying that this pup was in good health. She has not been properly socialized as stated by the trainer and she barks, growls, and lunges at most everyone, including other dogs. She also jumps, knocking you down and we have suffered 2 falls a piece from this dog. She is constantly scratching, even though the vet cannot find any evidence of its cause. She suspects a food allergy. Most recently, our pup was hospitalized in ICU for 2 days due to hemorrhagic gastrointestinal bleeding. While there, she had to be sedated heavily as she was pulling out IVs, uncooperative and extremely anxious. Two of the senior vets there informed us that this dog will need to be on Prozac due to her level of anxiety. It is still unclear whether this incidence of vomiting blood was due to parasites or if this is a condition she is prone to due to her breeding. We were also told by the veterinarians that our dog is displaying behaviors not conducive for a service dog. We feel we have been misinformed and taken advantage of. We paid a good sum for a well trained and healthy pup and this is not what we received. So if you are looking for a service/therapy dog candidate, look elsewhere! read more

I adopted my schnoodle from Smeraglia recently and I am so happy! After completing the lengthy application, I was told there was a perfect match. And she is a perfect match! I wanted a lap dog and that's what I got! She's sweet, smart and funny! The people at Smeraglia were friendly and easy to work with. Her trainers, Wendy and Beverly were so caring and quick to answer my many questions. I would highly recommend Smeraglia! Deenie G. read more

I decided to update now even before my puppy comes home to me. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sally, which hit their farm and their county dead on, I am so impressed and grateful for a team of people like this. They care so much for their puppies, their team and their families and their clients. Even while facing the challenge of getting through the hurricane and then the subsequent 'clean up' and rebuild, they've stayed positive and stayed focused on the puppies, each other and us, the clients. Without power or Internet, they kept updating through FB Live and social media channels as often as possible through spotty cell service. I can only imagine my update would be 6 stars on Yelp's 5 star scale when it's time for my puppy that is adorable with the 'look' and the temperament and the manners (from Doodle Prep School)! read more

I bought a puppy from Smergalia The puppy is diagnosed with generic hip and elbow dysplasia. I payed 12 thousand including 2 months of training: My puppy now has to go to physical therapy every week and probably will need surgery. The costs will be around 15 thousand including thr ct scan and X-rays. Smergalia refunded the puppy cost of 3900$. That being said I am left with a puppy I love so much but have to deal with this. Smergalia said no other puppies from the litter reported issues. I find that hard to believe. I thought going to a top Breeder, I would not have issues but obviously I was wrong. read more

Overall, I had a good experience with Smeraglia. I put in my application in August and was matched with my puppy in December. The timing was great, so it worked really well for us. My puppy is a small F1B doodle. I will be honest that there were some bumps in the road. One individual that really went above and beyond was Michelle. I believe she's part of their billing/invoices team. When I wasn't able to get in touch with someone in regards of questions that I had about pick up, flying with the puppy, etc. Michelle took the time to respond to my very long email and was so sweet and empathetic. She also put me in touch with the individuals that could further help me. And she also followed up with me, to make sure that I was taken care of. That really made my whole experience. So THANK YOU to Michelle. I did enroll my puppy in the Prep School, which I highly, highly recommend if you are able to do it. I did it for only two weeks and wish I had done for their 4 weeks or even 6 weeks. Beverly and Wendy were my puppy's trainer and they were amazing to work with. Answered all of my questions, gave me tips, really took the time and cared for my puppy so well. I can't stress it enough how much of a difference it made for me. I have also never had a puppy. read more

I have always wondered about Smeraglia and the conditions for dogs before they get adopted. I'd would like to have more information about the breeder from someone who has been there. We love our dog dearly who we adopted nearly 4 years ago, but I can't help wonder if something happened while she was there. She came to us already exhibiting some fear aggression towards other dogs, which has gradually escalated and she is even reactive to some people now. We were always clear we wanted a pup with a gentle temperament. We'd never give her up, she's a joy with us and simply she's family, but we've been through endless training and yet cannot correct her behavior. She also came to us with worms as a puppy which took at least 4-5 rounds to beat! She's a healthy pup now read more

Horrible customer service. Jared was the worst to deal with, totally came off like a used car salesman. Zero personal attention to detail. Once he found out that we didn't want a puppy that he had "in stock" he ghosted us for months as we sat on the waiting list ($300 waiting list deposit). I called and complained then requested to work with a different person and still got stuck with him. This guy must be a family member of the owner or something because there's no way he got hired for his customer service. Jared would randomly send emails of puppies that never fit our profile as he claimed they did. He even had the nerve to tell me that his record show that I turned down available puppies matching my stated profile. (He offered females, I requested males only for example) Finally after not receiving a call from him for months 4 months total on the waiting list, we just decided to adopt an available F1 Doodle instead of the F1B standard teddy bear looking male we wanted. Lastly, paid to have our puppy delivered "Doodle Uber" service, was told by Jared and another worker that it was $1 per mile, then I talk to the person who schedules delivery who says no its actually $1.50 per mile what he quoted you wrong, plus a mandatory hotel charge for the driver after 350 miles.(Surprise!)Needless to say this was yet another thing that rubbed me the wrong way with Jared. I was charged $103 convenience fee for paying by check online in which they never disclosed until after your payment is ran. I demanded a refund on that convenience fee since it wasn't disclosed upfront and there wasn't a credit card used to pay, they did refund the $103 fee. $4000 later we received our puppy which my family loves him, however this entire process felt impersonal, like an assembly line purchase, they are just on to the next transaction with zero follow up. You would think that for over $4000 spent, that on delivery day Jared would have called or sent an email making sure the puppy delivery went smoothly and tell us to reach out if we have any questions or concerns but you would be mistaken. He Burned rubber on to the next deal. This was a Horrible sleazy feeling experience from start to finish. Jared should be a used car salesmen instead of a so called "puppy specialist". read more

I bought a small twoodle from Smeraglia a few months ago and wanted to post a review because I read a million reviews when deciding where to buy a puppy. First, I think customer service was good compared to all the other breeders I contacted who would take days to respond or not even respond at all. I didn't feel pressured to buy the dog, they repeatedly told me they would put a hold on him while I decided and told me to take my time. I checked and they didn't list him on their website (but they listed his siblings) while I decided if he was the one. Secondly, it was nice that they had plenty of available puppies so I didn't have to put a deposit down on a litter to reserve a spot not even knowing what puppies would be in the upcoming litter (this was my experience with 99% of all other breeders I contacted looking for a doodle.). Third, I highly recommend you pick up your puppy or hire someone to deliver the puppy instead of flying them alone. I cannot imagine the trauma the puppy must go through to fly alone and I noticed that most of the negative reviews of puppies were people who flew the puppy out by itself. We LOVE our dog. He is the exact look I wanted, does not shed, and has a great personality. That does not mean it was all smooth sailing. I highly recommend getting a good puppy trainer BEFORE bringing the puppy home. We did not and had a very rough first week. Our puppy refused to sleep in his crate and literally cried all night long. Nothing I read online helped. I contacted Jared looking for help and he immediately emailed back and said he would set up a call. Luckily, I found a fantastic trainer that changed our experience around in two days and it has been pretty smooth sailing since. I believe we got a well tempered puppy but the way we train him has a huge effect on his personality. I would definitely get a puppy from them again. read more

After spending literally months searching locally and nationally for a reputable breeder of golden doodles, we settled on Smeraglia. Based on pictures and reviews, both the facilities and the operation seemed top-notch. We put our deposit down and waited. Before you read further, you should know that this would become my fourth dog (as an adult). Once our allocated litter was born, we were asked to choose from the puppies by giving our first, second and third preference. Ultimately, we got our first choice. Smeraglia followed that with weekly video updates of the puppies, which was a nice touch. We decided to enroll our puppy in two weeks of Seraglia's "prep school", which begins after the puppies are eight weeks old -- when they would normally be sent off to their new homes. So we didn't get ours until after ten weeks. During prep school, a puppy is sent to live in the home of one of their trainers, where it is supposed to begin learning the basics: house training, sit, stay, etc. Two weeks is not nearly long enough for a puppy to learn anything very well, but it is a start. Prior to receiving our puppy, we received a lengthy, detailed email from Smeraglia, which contained all sorts of information about our new puppy (and puppies in general). Having raised dogs before, nothing in it was particularly ground-breaking, but it was nonetheless useful information (for example, the type of food it was used to, the potty schedule it was on, etc). Our dog was shipped to us via Delta airlines, so we met her at the airport and brought her home. Our first bit of bad news came the next week after we took her to the vet for her "healthy dog" checkup (essentially required any time you get a new dog). She was generally in good health, but had a parasite, giardia. While giardia is not altogether uncommon, it was disappointing to find that our top-notch breeder was sending out dogs with it. A course of medication (~$75) took care of it, and if we had followed up by sending the bill to Smeraglia, they probably would have covered it, but we didn't. Over the next couple of months, we began to notice some troubling personality characteristics in our puppy. Mostly, she was extraordinarily nervous and completely lacking confidence. This manifested itself in lots of different ways: when at a dog park, she would always be the most submissive dog; when walking down the street, she always had her tail down; when approached by another dog on the street, she would quite literally go for their jugular; she was extremely difficult to train, resisting nearly all efforts; and she "nervous peed" whenever greeting a person (known or not) until she was almost a full year old. I had never had any experience like this with any of my other dogs, who were all happy, confident and obedient. During her first year, we did everything we could think of to break her of these bad habits and to introduce new ones. We took her to puppy kindergarten. We hired a private trainer. We socialized her constantly. We took her on long walks every day, with both people and dogs. All, of course, using positive reinforcement techniques. After a year, we decided that we needed to try a different approach, so we sent her to a professional board and train (essentially doubling our cost for her). The trainers there think, though we will never have any way of knowing for sure, that her early socialization was a problem, and that she probably suffered some sort of "trauma" during her early days as a puppy. As I mentioned, we have no way of knowing for sure what happened to our dog, but it seems to us that she arrived in bad shape, both physically and mentally. I suppose the question comes down to whether the dogs that Smeraglia is breeding are generally of questionable temperament or something specific happened to our dog during its time in prep school. Either way, we feel that we paid a premium amount for a decidedly discount experience. Best of luck to you all in your quest to find a new companion. read more

Anyway if this is something you are debating about this business is the company to go with . They treat us like family and we are looking at getting our second one soon . Trishia and Sherry go above and beyond to make sure each dog is placed in the right home with the right family . Thank you read more

This will be the second purchase from Smeraglia. The first nearly 6 years ago was outstanding at every aspect, i.e., communication, follow-up and questions. This purchase is going just as smoothly again. They have been in close contact every step of the way. We ordered an F1B again because our first steals the show every where we go. His looks with longer hair (not a typical golden-doodle look ), temperament and general behavior. Smeralgia knows how to do it right. read more
Where to start? This is a top notch operation. Throughout the entire process, my husband and I felt as if Smeraglia especially respected our 'investment' and were always prompt in responding to any questions/concerns. Being the type A that I am, of course my puppy Hudson needed to be eating the very best in raw food once he was weaned. I was half expecting Smeraglia to deny my request. Not only did they special order his food, they also provided a cooler for me to take home the leftovers. If you are even considering skipping out on 'Doodle Prep School', don't! Hudson spend over 2 weeks with Charity, our amazing trainer, and he already knows so many commands and has good manners (no jumping on people, etc). This was worth every single penny! Goldendoodles are really the sweetest pups and we are so proud to be part of the Smeraglia family! read more

Well, I'm the lucky girl that got surprised with a Smeraglia puppy!! I just can't say enough about this company.. I've never felt so welcome, cared for, or so singularly focused on as a client in any situation. There is no match to the premises, staff, or these beautiful dogs. It's really just a dream to be able to own one of them, knowing that they are the BEST there are. The devotion to each client and care of these animals speaks directly of the character in their employees and show deep thought behind every decision made here. Our puppy has brought us tremendous joy and is the perfect addition to our home! You NEED a dog from here, y'all! Thank you so much Smeraglia team! You're the absolute best! read more

After a lot of research and waiting, we finally purchased a GD pup. We fell in love with our new family member from the beginning. We knew we wanted a small and "paid appropriately". The staff says "we can't guarantee the size". Were okay with that from the beginning until months later could not figure out why our puppy was actually a "medium". After talking to the staff, we found out that the historical line had medium in the genetics that was not provided up front. We were very disappointed with the truth, "AFTER THE FACT", as we have already bonded with our new family member. We are looking at adding a playmate but will look elsewhere to avoid a bait and switch ever again. read more

We started looking at Goldendoodles about two years ago and easily fell in love. I now have my own, my mom has one, my sister has one, and my brother and sister in law have a retired mom and these pups are the sweetest in the world! From start to finish, these dogs have become my world! We went out to the farm to meet the staff and guess what? We fell in love with them too. The thing about a Smeraglia adoption is that you adopt a team, not just a life. Which came in handy when I had some trouble with my doodle fitting in with my current dog. I called and the head trainer called me back with suggestions to help them get along and IT WORKED! They love each other now! Having gone through the puppy adoption, as well as bringing home a retired parents, with multiple trips out to the property, I can tell you that it's always clean, everyone is always nice, and those dogs are so loved. It's like the Disney land for dogs!!!! We got to meet our puppy's parents and now keep in touch with litter mates. Kudos to this place for not only creating and helping me find the best dog in the world, but for being a support system when I was ready to go puppy-crazy! Can't wait for my next sweetie pie adoption! (As soon as the hubs is ready ;) read more

I have known the Smeraglia's for 7 years and I couldn't be happier to finally have one of their dogs. Bodhi has brought so much joy to our lives and to our family and friends and we have the Smeraglias to thank for that! The Smeraglias are the kindest and the most amazing people and I'm so grateful to call them friends and to have a little part of them with me in the form of a dog! After bringing Bodhi (our English cream golden retriever) home we were in awe of just how truly amazing their dogs are. They are not only beautiful they are kind, gentle, well behaved, children and people friendly, well tempered, and hands down the best dog we ever had. The Smeraglia team walked us through everything we needed to know about Bodhi and did a temperament test for us to know his exact personality. The facilities are gorgeous and well kept as I went down for a visit to meet Bodhi when he was a week old. Bodhi went through puppy training and was so well mannered when we picked him up and brought him home and he still continues to embody the well mannered, kind, fun loving and gentle dog that we always wanted. The best part is we are able to talk to the staff who are quick to answer our questions with theven after we brought him home almost a year ago. The Smeraglias and Bodhi are a true blessing to our lives and we are so grateful to know them and to have had the best experience in owning one of their dogs. read more

We purchased an F1B Standard Goldendoodle in 2008 and he was always a family member. People would say "he's not a good dog, he is a great dog!" He was easy to train, had a great temperament, and loved everyone, (besides being very handsome). At the dog park he would greet all the people before playing with the other dogs. We decided to purchase from Smeraglia at that time because of their openness with showing their facility on the internet and their excellent communication. They were informative and kind and very helpful to get the dog we wanted. We live in San Diego, CA. both in 2008 and now an once again are calling on Smeraglia for our next family member. I have recommended them to several people and will continue do so. Luan A. read more

The dogs are beautiful BUT the people there mislead me as to the personality of the dog. They said mine was trained for 6 weeks ( older dog no one wanted I guess) no way this dog had any training except SIT...they said he " was the smartest dog they had" if that's true I feel bad for the other pups. Never again. They are a business. Nothing else. read more

My husband and I wanted a schnoodle, so after searching and researching for months, we settled on Smeraglia. We have two other dogs, one from a breeder and one from a rescue, so the process was familiar to us (sign up, pay a deposit, wait, choose a puppy). Although we were the first family on the list, we were told we could only select male or female and not choose a female as first and male as second or vice versa. This was odd to me, as I had been on a puppy waiting list before and pick of the litter means quite literally, your choice. We decided on a female puppy and that we would send her to the 2-week training program prior to having her sent home. I do not think that the training was beneficial in the least. Perhaps she got on a somewhat regular potty or eating schedule but all of the things they said they were teaching her, she did not seem to remember once she got home. Also, she was (and still is, at 9 months) fearful and aggressive towards strangers (lunging, barking, snapping, growling). We can't even have her properly groomed because of her aggression. Naturally, when someone sees a 10 pound fluffball, they want to snuggle her. But she won't tolerate anyone coming near her that she doesn't know. We even enrolled her in puppy classes here at home (which we've never done, as we have had great success training and socializing dogs of many temperaments). Our other two dogs are happy and well-adjusted. Our rescue came from an abusive home and after years, she is finally content and relaxed. I see the same fearful and aggressive traits in our Smeraglia puppy that I once saw in our rescue dog. This tells me that either the temperament test they sent was inaccurate, as it said she would have good traits to become a therapy dog (which was my goal for her), or something traumatic happened to her during her "puppy school." Another huge issue I had was that she arrived to us with not one, but two types of intestinal parasites. A giant red flag that caused us to test her for this (in addition to her well-puppy exam) was that she actually came with three syringes of treatment for these parasites, but the note attached just said, "for upset stomach your puppy may experience when adjusting to a new household." I alerted Smeraglia and they paid for her additional medication, but this is something no one should have to deal with when they receive a new puppy, especially from a supposedly reputable breeder. All of this said, I love my girl and I would not trade her for anything. She's incredibly smart (arguably smarter than my other two poodle mixes) and we had her potty-trained in three days. She learns new commands at the drop of a hat and she is the BIGGEST love with her immediate family. But knowing that I cannot let the neighborhood kids-or any new person-pet her for fear of her biting them really upsets me. If a dog like this ended up in a first-time dog owner's home, she most certainly would end up in a shelter not long after. It breaks my heart knowing that there is a major lapse in judgment or oversight somewhere within this business that's causing dogs to come to their owners fearful and not healthy. read more

Do not buy a goldendoodle from this company. They are puppy mill and just want to crank out dogs. They lied to us about 2 things because they had a dog that someone else was smart enough to back out on. Lie #1. They said that the puppy had a "narrow base". The exact comment in her paperwork was this is common in this breed and it is this something that "typically corrects itself". Our vet said this never corrects itself. After two teeth surgeries at 4 and 6 5 months and $6000 later her canines where not salvageable and now she's missing teeth. Even besides all the money and stress we went thru where this really affected us was lie #2 2. We had extensive conversations with them about our autistic child that needed a therapy dog. They assured us thus dog had the perfect temperament for that and we paid for two extra weeks of training with one of the trainers who had access to several kids with autism and would expose her to them. I can tell you that was never done. In addition from the second we got her she was growling at my daughter nonstop if they even looked at her. The vet was hoping this was due to the two huge indents in the roof of her mouth from her canine teeth that were puncturing the top. So after they were removed the surgery we hoped it would get better but the reality is it did not. She is one of those nervous Nellie dogs, he has extreme submissiveness and is constantly on her back, she lacks confidence and she's completely stubborn. Now granted they may not of been able to tell all of this from the temperament test but some of that should've come out because the minute we got her this is what she was displaying as her personality. In addition to the two lies, puppy came with massive G.I. issues and constant diarrhea. What we soon learned is that the puppy was allergic to chicken and was being fed chicken and rice from the day that she was able to eat. Seems really odd that all sudden the puppy comes to us and has nonstop diarrhea but for the first 12 weeks they had her they had no signs of this issue. Here we are a year later and not much is changed. I would really hate for any other family in our position with an autistic child to be put in the situation. UnFortunately once your family is attached to a dog there's no way to trade it out for one that's a better option it could actually be used as a therapy dog. I just think this place just wants to crank dogs out and give you that very sweet southern message they're helping you pick the best dog blah blah blah. Please don't be fooled and shame on good morning America for showcasing a place like this. read more

The entire staff at Smeraglia are simply.... AWESOME! They treat each and every puppy as special gifts and I love that our Mini Schnoodle Lucy was hand picked according to our special needs and wants. The staff was so patient with us as we originally wanted a boy puppy but when they brought out the boy puppy (who was as cute as all get out) they also brought out Lucy. It was amazing because they said that they though Lucy would fit in with our family perfectly. Lucy was one of four different mini schnoodles that we visited with but she made sure SHE was the one we noticed the most! Wouldn't you know that the staff was SPOT ON! We brought Lucy home on February 14, 2012 and cannot imagine what our life was without her! She has been a god send in our lives. Your relationship with the Smeraglia family doesn't have to end when you bring your puppy home. I have developed long term friendships with the Smeraglia staff and all the other Smeraglia Schnoodle and Goldendoodle owners all across the country. read more

Just left the premise of Smeraglia's and could not be more impressed. I feel the hearts of these breeders are absolutely in the right place. There is a high demand for Goldendoodles. I feel this kennel is doing their best to produce healthy happy dogs. I think that involves a lot of money and time. I also feel because of the price tag of these dogs we as customers have unrealistic expectations of what we receive. In a perfect world we would receive perfection. But sadly we do not live in a perfect world. Mrs. Smeraglia is not God, she can do all the right things but in the end she cannot control what kind of pup is born. Just like I cannot produce the perfect child. I can do all the rights things, from birth to adulthood but what happens as far as health and temperament are out of my control. The same with these dogs. I feel that if something was wrong with any of her dogs, puppy or adult, that was not caused from the owners negligence she would take care of the situation. I was there for three hours today and I witnessed many dogs. Adults, puppies and employees dogs. All looked happy and healthy. All the employees had huge smiles on their face and they really do go above and beyond to make this a one of a kind experience for their customers. I had a long list of pretty tough questions for them and they answered all very well. I have three kids so I can pretty easily tell if someone is lying to me;). I felt at home there. We did end up choosing our pup and we look forward to returning Tuesday to pick up my chunky little fur baby! read more

I have been following these sweet babies & people at the beautiful Smeralgia Farm for several years. After losing our 16 year old Bichon I had heard about Snoodles & Doodles, having friends who have some was very interested. So I started surfing the web. When I came across Smeralgia and saw all the beautiful puppies (breed, colors & sizes) I just couldn't get enough of them. I just continued to look at them online, on lives showing the puppies & parents and the owners & personnel and knew this was the place I wanted my next puppy from. Last April I had to medically retire and needed a puppy by my side for love & kisses!! So I finally took the plunge after feeling like the place was "family" I put in my application for an extra small snoodle this past January. I assumed it would be awhile since I was pretty specific about my choice. In a week or two I received an email and a picture of what I thought would be the perfect baby for us! She would be ready the end of April and I was so excited to have my "Gotcha Day"at the Farm it looked so fun. I so wanted to meet the kind and helpful people I had come to know! Everyone I had contact with helped me and did everything they could to help work things out for me such has getting her home to us due to the COVID virus. I missed my "Gotcha Day" but I got my "Maggie Mae" Thursday by Doodle Ouber and she is perfect! The information and videos are so informative and helpful as the people themselves! She seems perfectly healthy and I have all her records from there and she goes to our Vet in the morning for a sign off! Thank you for the perfect puppy Sherri, Meredith, Jared, Dana, Kristi and whoever I'm forgetting and Theresa for getting her here in perfect condition! And for all of you being SO patient with me. We are having so much fun with her and the cats get better everyday! LOL! She loves the cats! Don't anybody hesitate to check Smeralgia out! You will not be sorry! And I'm sure it won't be my last puppy from there if I live long enough Beautiful place, people and most of all puppies!!!!! read more

We have 2 doodles from Smeraglia & highly recommend them! 9 years ago we purchased our first puppy from them & the staff was so amazing to work with! I was very specific about what I was looking for in a puppy for looks, personality & temperament--& he exceeded all my expectations! He was already well socialized for a puppy his age, comfortable with human touch & environments like the vet & groomer. He'd had photos taken at 2,4 & 6 weeks & his temperament assessment & video at 7 weeks & I was able to see he was clean & well taken care of. They publish many videos of the puppies, staff & facilities to be as transparent as possible; you have plenty of opportunities to see the type of care that goes into the puppies & their environment. He's still all these years later so healthy & beautiful & has been such a wonderful, well-behaved dog & such a joy to our family! Last summer we added a second smeraglia puppy to our household; she is currently 10 1/2 months old. She came to us last summer via Smeraglia's Au Pair Air, where a Pet Nanny travels with your puppy in the first class cabin of the plane & delivers them to you at the airport. It's been a wonderful experience from the time I contacted Smeraglia & told them I was interested in a second puppy. Meredith chose exactly the right puppy to blend into our family & we are so happy with her! She had 4 weeks of Prep School & it was obvious her trainer Joy loved her as though she was her own. She is a sweet loving puppy & a world-class snuggler. She has impressive focus & is so easy to train. She also has a happy playful side to her that keeps us laughing. She has adored our older Smeraglia doodle from the first time she met him and he loves her right back! Both puppies had a Pawtography session at 8 or 9 weeks; Meredith takes such adorable professional portraits of them! I love our quality puppies, being a part of the Smeraglia Doodle Family & how Smeraglia has always been available for us through the years. Thanks so much Sherri & Meredith for all you do! read more

Buyer beware--I WAS the owner of a Smeraglia Goldendoodle until 1 month ago when I had to put her to sleep at 2 years old because of genetic hip dysplasia that ravaged my beloved dogs hips. While there are no guarantees that even the best responsible breeders won't have health-behavioral issues with their pups they don't breed hundreds and hundreds each year like Smeraglia does. Don't be fooled by the pretty exterior, cute videos or owners forum that is by invitation only and gushes with only great things to say about them!! That forum is CLOSELY monitored and negative posts are quickly taken down or edited at Smeraglia's discretion. There is also a 'secret forum' that requires an even more exclusive invitation from Smeraglia. How do I know about this exclusive 'secret forum' I WAS a member until my dog got sick and I posted her devastating diagnosis on those forums. Needless to say my invitation was quickly revoked!! The supposed spirit those forum were created so fellow doodle owners could support one another, share tips and advice could not be farther from the truth in my opinion. Those forums were created as part of a very successful marketing plan that sells alot of puppies. Think about it why wouldn't you direct potential buyers to read the forum posts when you hand pick only the most positive about your business and never allow posts of dogs like mine, puppies that arrive home deathly ill with giardia, dogs with severe allergies, or behavior challenges, etc. They are out there, they just don't or can't talk about it publicly. In honor of my fallen angel: I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!! Rest in peace Zana! June 16, 2011 - August 8, 2013 read more

If I could give them 100 stars I would. We adopted our first Smeraglia doodle 2 years ago. The adoption Process - every step of the process was excellent. Smeraglia is professional, competent, knowledgable, skillful and above all very caring. Every phone call resulted in having my questions answered thoughtfully. Every step of the process was handled with diligence. Smeraglia truly is amazing. The thoughtfulness of their breeding - The thought they put into their breeding process is incredible. They breed for temperament as well as appearances. Their care of the mom and pups is exceptional. The care of their puppy prep school is amazing. I have often said that if I could have had my own pregnancy and delivery at Smeraglia I would have! LOL. The puppy himself - My pup is now a 2 year old dog. With great respect to my other dogs, none others compare in terms of temperament, and ability and willingness to learn. He is absolutely a sweetie and has assumed his role of family therapy dog perfectly. Anyone who meets him, even those who don't like dogs, want a dog 'just like him'. The final vote of approval - We love our dog and Smeraglia so much that right now we are adopting another Smeraglia pup. I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else to be as caring, trustworthy, thoughtful and professional as Smeraglia. Thank you, Smeraglia! read more

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for this breeder and her amazing staff. WOW! After months of research, my husband and I decided that Smeraglia was the place we wanted to purchase our Goldendoodle from. We wanted Santa to bring our five children a puppy for Christmas. They had been asking about a puppy for over a year. We contacted Smeraglia, and spoke with Jared (he's phenomenal by the way and answered all our questions). By the grace of God they had a female available by the name of Florence Red Dot. Florence Red Dot (aka Holly) attended 9 weeks of Doodle Prep with the most tremendous trainer ever, Kristen. Kristen was very knowledgeable and worked with us to get her trained for her Christmas arrival. My husband and I have had many dogs, Holly, by far is the best puppy we have ever had. She is very sweet, kind, loving, obedient and has the best demeanor. We traveled all the way from Texas to pick her up. We love how well this breeder is that we are considering choosing and F1 Goldendoodle to complete 16 weeks of training. Smeraglia, thank you for being our breeder for life! Sherri thank you for taking time out of you day to always visit with us when we visit your farm! #goldendoodles #smeraglia #bestbreeder #bestdogs #blessed read more

I couldn't be more pleased with my experiences with Smeraglia! I got my first puppy in early December after 2 weeks in Prep school. After a month, I decided I wanted a second puppy so they would be friends growing up. I chose a puppy and asked for the same Prep school trainer. I got a call from the trainer after a week and she told me that this puppy might not be compatible with my first puppy's personality. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that phone call. She told me that she was training another puppy whose family would not be able to take him. She thought he was a much better fit if he was still available. He was and so I got that puppy instead of the original one. Best choice ever!!! These puppies are such a joy to watch as they run and play in my yard. They are both loving and gentle towards me and each other. They love chasing the cats in the house, which is something they are finally realizing is a no-no. I am so glad I got the second puppy after having the first for 6 weeks. It wound up that they were born only 5 days apart, so they are the same age. I love the support that Smeraglia has given me any time I have questions. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. From the first inquiry, to the hundreds of emails I sent before making our final decision, the entire team at Smeraglia made us feel like family. Choosing a new family member is not something that should be taken lightly, especially if you are living in another state and don't get to spend hours and days getting used to each other beforehand! Getting the temperament assessment reports and updated pictures of our pup's progress made us feel so comfortable and relieved knowing he was in good hands. Within a few hours of coming home, our pup was already comfortable with his surroundings, playing with his new toys, and giving tons and tons of puppy kisses!! We love ours so much, we are already in the process of looking for a sibling! If a goldendoodle is your families preferred breed, look no further than Smeraglia!! read more

our journey began in 2008 after visiting with smeraglia at the farm and getting to see some puppies. we adopted a beautiful female companion dog. the fit was perfect! she was trained as a therapy dog. she currently visits our local nursing home brining lots of joy to the elderly residents there. in 2010 we adopted a standard male. he has been so much fun. he went to doodle prep school for 8 weeks. his schedule was easy to stick to and made puppyhood very smooth. he sleeps with our daughter every night. the smeraglia staff is awesome, follow up was very timely and thorough. we are reviewing with 5 stars because we have had two very positive adoptions with them. when both our puppies came home, our vet said they were very healthy and was impressed with all the records and the care they had been given. read more

We got the most amazing schnoodle puppy from Smeraglia last Christmas. Since Santa was delivering, this was tricky! Tricia was our hero. She went out of her way to make sure Charlie arrived Christmas morning. She also loved on him so much while we were waiting for him ... and she sent pictures and videos! We are so thankful for her. We did send him to Doodle Prep School with Kristen and we are so glad we did! He arrived to us potty trained, knew basic commands and on a schedule. Charlie is the most loving, happy and smart dog that I have ever met. We are already in the process of getting another schnoodle from Smeraglia, with Tricia's help of course. Potty training was super easy, and she came home knowing how to ring a bell to go potty outside! The Smeraglia staff is amazing and definitely feel like family. Smeraglia's is a wonderful breeder. Almost 2 years ago we adopted one of their puppies. From beginning to end the entire adoption process was flawless. Sherri and her staff help you find the perfect dog for your family. They care about their customers and their dogs, and you feel like a member of their family when you adopt a Smeraglia puppy. Even after your adoption is complete, Smeraglia is there to help you and answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend Sherri and her entire staff. They set the standard for breeding the most wonderful dogs! read more

So blessed we choose Smeralgia for our Schnoodle. A+++ Customer Service from start to adoption completion. They actually recommended the puppy to me based on my wishes and family lifestyle. They were on point with her expected disposition and weight! They have great genetic breeding knowledge and it is worth the adoption investment. Our family could not imagine it without Lollipop! She's the daughter we never had and sleeps with her human brother each night. We don't tell her she's a dog...shh! But seriously we are SO HAPPY WITH OUR DECISION read more

We love our Goldendoodle from Smeraglia! She joined our family 4 years ago and has a wonderful personality and was so easy to train. We just adopted a little sister for her that will be coming next week. We couldn't be happier with the all the staff at Smeraglia. They are always so helpful and professional and make the adoption process so enjoyable. Their website is full of great information and you know you can always call them and ask a question if you need support. We would highly recommend this breeder they are the best!!! Pam M. read more

I welcomed my Smeraglia twoodle, their unique breed, into my home 2.5 years ago. I had followed them on social media & appreciated their knowledge & love for their breeds. My pup has the BEST temperament! She has been a wonderful addition, so I'm in the process of finding my second pup from Smeraglia. The staff has been wonderful to work with & their trainers are a fantastic service I highly recommend. My pup will come home crate trained & started on potty training & basic commands! I highly recommend Smeraglia for your next furbaby! read more

I was floored when I learned 14 years ago that the Goldendoodle breeder featured on good morning America was actually located in southern Alabama! I have been getting my dogs from Smeraglia ever since (4 to date). As a horse breeder for 20 years I know excellence in blood lines when I see it. Their facility and practices are the gold standard. Through them I have had so much love added to my life by their dogs and from their friendship. These are first class people who love God, dogs and people read more

Both my Sister and I got puppies from Smeraglia and couldn't of had better experiences!! The office staff was so wonderful to send videos to help make our decision easier. The prep school experience was amazing, we had different trainers but both were wonderful. The best part for both of us was our "gotcha" day. Such a fun time to meet the staff and finally meet our puppy! Would recommend them to anyone! Can wait to come back for a second baby someday soon! read more

We love our Schnoodle "Poppy" from Smeraglia! She has the sweetest personality and is so smart -- we are already looking to get a second one. She spent 2 weeks in prep school and came to us knowing her name, able to sleep all night in a crate and fairly well trained to go outside. She even rings a bell to let us know she needs to go out! Everyone at Smeraglia has made this experience easy and smooth. read more

Love, love, love this place! Exceptional breeder of Teddybear Goldendoodles and Snoodles. I picked up my puppy in person and didn't want to leave! I flew from Oklahoma, too. My goldendoodle is just perfect in every way. The Farm is beautiful. It is filled with beautiful people who care for the parents and puppies in a loving, professional and transparent way. I am so thankful I found them. read more
