SMIL is located in the Desert Ridge Medical Campus on the third floor. The office does close for lunch and opens promptly as the hours posted. I received a text and phone call reminding me of my appointment. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early for any necessary paperwork. I arrived early as required. I was able to finish the paperwork in minutes. I was just sitting down when my name was called. The staff member introduced herself and Susan the tech who would take care of my needs. I prepared for the testing and that was done quickly and professionally. I was told where the results would be delivered. Everything was completed quickly and I was on my way. Sorry, there are no pictures on this one due to it being a medical facility but suffice it to say i have been very pleased with SMIL for my annual imaging over the last few years I know they get a bit of a mad rush in December as people try to get everything complete before the end of the year and either new insurance or new deductibles - so make sure to make your appointments early. If you call into their call center they have a really nice ability to see what is available Valley-wide so while you might be driving a little bit, you can at least get your appointment complete. They also have all of the records in a shared repository so it really doesn't matter which location you go to they can still do the comparisons year over year. Also, they now text you with your results, she said typically on the same day so that is wonderful news! That removes a bit of the worry factor I can definitely recommend this place for your annual imaging to keep yourself healthy. read more

The facility and technicians were very good. However, after my PET scan on July 31 for my oncologist appointment on August 7, it is now August 12 and still NO REPORT on my scan. How can my doctor give me his advice without the scan results? Inexcusable! read more

Vicki and Lorena at the front desk are very professional and helpful. If not for them taking an extra few minutes to figure out that my insurance group number had changed, I never would've know to request a new card. They are friendly and accommodating as are the technicians I have met. I've had scheduled appointments and walk-in appointments and both have gone very smoothly. I expect to wait when I'm a walk-in, but often am taken in within minutes. This is a great office and conveniently located minutes from my home. I highly recommend this office! read more

this is for this SMIL location- 20940 N Tatum Blvd Ste 390 Phoenix, AZ 85050 United States If i could put 0 stars i would. the technician who did the ultrasound was rude, inconsiderate, had attitude and made me feel very uncomfortable. I was scheduled and ordered by my doctor to get a abdomen ultrasound and a pelvic one. I got to the ultrasound room and they only did the abdomen ultrasound and said the pelvic wasn't scheduled when it indeed was. My doctor had called and sent in orders and I confirmed it with w the front desk when I first arrived. Although it was ordered they refused to do the pelvic ultrasound. I had to take time off work to do this and will have to take more time off just to go back and get an ultrasound that should've been done the first time. The technician who did the ultrasound was giving me attitude and very judgmental and made me feel very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I will be switching to a different location. I'm a very understanding and considerate person and I understand if your having a bad day or don't like your job but do not take it out on the patients. read more

Has such a great experience with my 5 year old yesterday. All the ladies at the front were so kind, the wait was maybe only 20 minutes.. and then our X-ray tech Tracy was so fabulous! Totally child friendly and made the whole experience with the X-ray a breeze and so pleasant. Totally appreciated her! I loved having my Dr call me within 4 hours with the results also. read more

This is the second time I have had a problem/concern but this encounter was the worst. I recently fell and my doctor was concerned and wrote scripts for 2 "stat" MRI's. They told me to call SMIL. After waiting on hold forever, I shared the information and order number and the receptionist stated that she needed to call the manager to fit me in someplace in the next 24-48 hours. They are understaffed. I told her I would go to ANY of the locations in AZ. After being on hold, she told me the manager did NOT approve this and she could not help me. I was shocked. I called SimonMed and they saw the urgency in this and saw me that afternoon. I will now move my mammogram and bone density appointments to SimonMed. I also told my doctors office about this and asked they give more options to patients than SMIL. read more

Front desk staff was so sweet and welcoming. Office was bustling and the staff took time and care in receiving each person. And on this day, my birthday, I had the best mammogram of all time, with Kim. (Sincerely hope I have the correct name for her.) In my many years of having mammograms wherever I lived, every tech has been competent and humorless as they got the job done. Kim Is a delightful tech who believes mammograms are as Important and ripe for humor as I do. We giggled through the procedure. Kim is a keeper and I'll find here again next year! The technician for the radiology testing is fine and super fast once your turn comes. The receptionists are kind of weird and talking personal issues and chit chatting with customers and totally wasting time. They need to be focused on the job they are meant to do and check-in patients in a more efficient manner. Most of the time was spent waiting for lack of efficiency. read more

I went to this location for an X-ray, and the front desk receptionist couldn't find the order. I told her the doctor's name showed up in their system when I made the appointment, even though I'd never used the doctor before, so it was clearly associated with my account in their system. She was extremely confused and unhelpful, recommending I call their main office. She called the doctor and then said they couldn't proceed moments later (even after she couldn't answer the phone because she was in the back). I asked to speak to a manager and I'm glad I did--the manager was going to clear the X-ray based on an email but the doctor called back right before she was about to tell her that. I recommended to the front desk person to maybe listen to people who have "lost" orders that are clearly in the system instead of assuming they are pretending to have an order, but she got huffy and went to the manager. I know things are tough with the pandemic but it's pretty disappointing when front desk workers abhor the people they are supposed to be helping, assume patients are lying about orders rather than it being one of the many database issues they perpetually have, and don't understand the very basics of how technology works to be able to look into an issue instead of sending people away before there is even time for favorable resolution. I'd recommend listening to people and realizing that databases have errors instead of sticking your fingers in your ears. And maybe pick up the phone for a verbal order before sending people home. read more

Five stars only because of the MRI tech, everyone I met from front and back desk has been as friendly as a pissed off alley cat! My MRI tech was friendly and helpful the front desk greeting was less than happy smiling and friendly the gal in the back seemed bothered that she was helping get me ready but was friendly when I left, I'm never sure why a lot of the people in some medical office always seem like they are either mad at the world or pissed off they are working. read more

I went to the office at Desert Ridge. I will never go there again. The lady at the front desk was rude when I walked in. I went to the front desk and she immediately acted snarky. She didn't greet me, but instead told me to find a chair because there was a woman waiting ahead of me to be helped. The other lady was sitting in a chair waiting to be helped. So, I sat down. I think the receptionist was behind and stressed, she was in the middle of helping a gentleman. She then yelled out, "lady with white bag". The was the que for the lady ahead of me to go to the desk. I was stunned that the receptionist would be so rude to the other lady. She then got into an argument with the lady patient. She was very condescending to her. That lady then left. The receptionist then called out to me and asked me for a second time if I had an appointment. I said yes, but that I could reschedule if needed. She then told me that I would need to call and reschedule, that she won't help me with that. I again was stunned! I have worked in the medical field in years past and never came across a person like this. She obviously should not be working with patients or customers. On the other hand, I have never had an issue with the office at Thompson Peak. So, I will continue to go there. read more

Hold times are epic. I have tried for two weeks to contact SMIL for a appointment. I cannot schedule online because it is for a bone DEXA scan. The message I get ranges from hold time of 20 minutes to 75. minutes to an hour and a half I'm sick I'm in pain. This is very challenging for me. This afternoon I waited 20 minutes while in excruciating pain, listening to the recording of how they provide world class customer service. After 20 minutes, I got connected, but immediately was cut off. I can't go through this again. read more

DO NOT RECCOMEND I had an appointment scheduled by my doctor with paperwork sent and everything. I get there after they called to confirm my appointment for an abdominal ultrasound and TOLD ME the prep instructions were to drink a 12oz of water 2 hours before and another 1 hour before. I get here only for them to tell me THEY CANT DO MY APPOINTMENT BECAUSE I DIDNT FOLLOW THE CORRECT PREP INSTRUCTIONS. I followed exactly what they told me. I don't know who's making the appointment calls but they definitely need to get that in check. I had to miss work and have back to back appointments and this really makes things very complicated. Previously, I went to the Scottsdale location and had a great experience from start to finish. However, I won't return to this location because the customer service and bedside manner from the techs needs work. My doctor and I have been working at figuring out my pains and symptoms for a few weeks now. I didn't appreciate the technician questioning why I'm having an ultrasound done after I just had two at the Scottsdale location. I understand the technician needs to know what the area is that's causing discomfort to effectively do their job but that's it nothing else is relevant for their exam. The last thing I want to do is justify and explain everything that's been going on to someone who is only supposed to complete the imaging. It's none of her business and my doctor wanted it done to be cautious and check all bases. My understanding was technicians are only supposed to complete the exam....unless you are a licensed m.d...please keep your thoughts to yourself. read more

I was very disappointed yesterday at this location. We were the first patients in upon opening. A few others entered shortly after, including a hispanic couple. The receptionist Mindy kept loudly telling the couple to approach the desk and read COVID screening questions. The couple did not speak English and were not understanding what she wanted of them. When someone else asked if she could provide the questions in Spanish, she ignored them and continued yelling at them about the questions. I was embarrassed for her and this poor couple. It was the most culturally insensitive thing I have witnessed in a healthcare setting ever! The Rad tech was very kind, however, we are now 48 hours later, and my daughter's imaging study has still never been read for interpretation! So frustrating! Glad her injury isn't more serious as I'm pretty confident her study was never closed and sent to a physician. Unacceptable. Go somewhere else for your imaging needs. read more

Very unfriendly and disorganized group from top to bottom. Aside from their unfriendly staff, It is their standard operating procedure to pretend they know what your insurance coverage is when in reality they do not check, have no idea and take what money they can upfront. Once you pay, you are stuck waiting for your refund and managing the overpayment as you wait for the insurance process. I called to request a refund and Lori from billing just talked over me the entire time in a condescending manner. I was made to feel as though I did something wrong. Do not pay a dime upfront as they unapologetiacally misrepresent what is owed up front. read more

I always go to SMIL because of their good customer service and quick turnaround. This is the first time I've gone to the one in Desert Ridge, I normally visit the one on Scottsdale Road and Thompson Peak. The front desk staff was very nice and quick checking me in, maybe a minute. I waited about 5 minutes to be seen for my x-ray, was in and out in about 10 minutes total. I'm all about quick service, which is exactly what I received. I spent a total of about 15 minutes in office including the x-ray. My doctor always send my order to SimonMed! I will never go to another SIMONMED facility. SMIL offers better customer service, the office was very clean, nicely decorated, water was available, the staff was very nice and friendly. This location is smaller than the Thompson Peak location, but the customer service is the same high quality. I will definitely visit this location again. I didn't realize there was a location at Desert Ridge until today. Very conveniently located just off the 101 freeway. Keep up the good work. read more

I really don't want t give them a start but since I have to do one oh well I would give them 0. Was there this morning for an appointment they call me and schedule yesterday. I had to be holding my water since we are checking to make sure if a I have kidney stones. Well I get there and nothing am not in the system till the following day. They told me to wait for a bit and see if the next patience doesn't show up so they can see me I guess, then I heard them talk on the phone and they call me upfront to talk to someone who ever is on the phone to schedule ????WTF I got so irritated plus am in paint and holding my water and off from work... this is not acceptable and for them to act like well we can call for you and schedule that's all.
