On my first appointment they called to reschedule my appointment after the scheduled appointment time. So, before my next appointment, they left me another VM saying the dentist was sick again, but I could come in and have the x-rays done and reschedule my appointment again for the following week. My family and regret ever going here. We were severely overcharged for dental work. when I brought it up to them (NAOMI) , Ashe said I would get a refund if they made a mistake with the charges. I proved to them I was overcharged bringing a copy of my D schedule, and she told me my insurance had to pay me. I paid 3000$ + out of pocket, and they refused to give me copies of the bills showing the work done to my family, they refused to provide proof they ever submitted billing to my dental insurance. I should have written this review the first time I had this problem about 2-3 years ago but some other interactions with other staff members of this facility prevented me otherwise. Also, this particular office used to be under a long-time (20+ years) family dentist, until he retired, but my family and I remained patrons of this unit because of how close it is to us. But 2 days ago I call at 10:20am looking to set an appointment for the next day for a regular CLEANING & CHECK UP. The person who answers the phone (who I assume is Noemi but can't confirm with this phone call exchange but has been the only front desk receptionist I've dealt with in this small office to set up appointments) answers with just a "Hello." Doesn't state the usual "Hello, Panorama City Dental!" to let me know if the number I had dialed was in fact correct, so I had to verify that it indeed was the dental office. Though she confirmed, she said that the office isn't open right now to set up appointments and that I should call a half hour from now. I was like.. okay sure whatever and hung up. I come check the Yelp hours as I write this review and this office opens at 9:00am??? Why did the person on the phone tell me to call back pretty much at 11:00am? I didn't think much of it at the time but now I'm like... that's so odd. Anyway, she ended up calling me back about 20-30 min later to help set up an appointment for me. I ask "What times are available?" First suggestion she gave was "11:00 tomorrow." I'm like, cool, sounds good, see you at 11 tomorrow. I ask for a half day at work and clear out my schedule because in addition to working full-time, I go to night school right after. 11:00am was the only time I could make work. I arrive right on time because I live minutes away and find there is no usual check-in sheet. Strange... but okay, COVID-related, idk. Anyway. I DON'T GET INTO THE CHAIR UNTIL 12:15PM!!! I waited over an hour before getting my x-rays taken and still waited another 15 min to get my check-up and cleaning! I had stayed quiet the whole time without complaining until I realized that this is actually ridiculous. Like, the treatment only lasts 15-20 minutes. IF A PATIENT GETS SCHEDULED FOR 11:00AM AND WON'T GET SEATED FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF, SCHEDULE THE PATIENT AT 12:30!!!!! Why didn't I say anything until then you ask? Welll here's a little backstory of my experience a few years ago when this dental office switched managements/owners.... Setting up my appointment with Noemi was a nightmare that I'll never forget. In the summer, I scheduled a dental appointment again and asked for a time in the afternoon. Noemi said 2:00pm for that day we decided. I remembered vividly and put it on my calendar immediately. I don't usually do so, but I 100% did so for this day. And scheduled a workout session prior to that 2:00pm appointment to finish up at 1:30pm to arrive at the dental office at 1:45pmish. Checked-in with the sign-in sheet and everything. To my dismay, I found that the dentist wasn't ready for me yet at 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, as 3:00 started to draw near, I go up to Noemi at the front desk and ask how much longer I'll have to wait. She tells me, "Oh, your appointment is at 3:00pm" HUHHHHHH??!!!?!? NO. I WAS GIVEN THE TIME OF 2:00pm. Without question. Period. Even after seeing me sign in super early, there was no decency to check and see that a patient was unusually early to an appointment and let her know, "Ma'am, you're rather early to the appointment"?!? Nope, nothing. Maybe because I really was scheduled at 2:00pm and despite having several patients come and go from the office, the receptionist still remains uninformed how long dental procedures actually between patients so said my appointment was a later time. We'll never know the truth. ANYWAY, every minute that I waited past 3:00pm, which about 15-20min until the dentist was ready to see me, I literally could not take it anymore and had a public mental breakdown at that office and could not get treated in the state I was in and had to go home. The thought of reliving the trauma of that day was why I chose to refrain from voicing my dissatisfaction until I saw the doctor and her assistant. Although those two were very apologetic and asked how my family was doing to placate the situation, it was only a reminder that, this check-up that was supposed to be finished within the hour I set up my appointment, wasted so much of my time and prevented me from staying home to look after my family that they kept asking me about. I hate to disregard a good dentist's work but my terrible experiences with dealing with Noemi and/or whoever else I dealt with in making my appointments on 10/19/2021 has prompted me to seek another dental office with receptionists who know how to estimate how long procedures take and schedule patients appropriately. Morally corrupt? I understand that the Dr. (dentist) probably expended thousands of dollars on his education and has employees and rent to pay. He has the right to charge as much money as he feels his services are worth and provide or refused the same. My preoccupation arises when a dentist decides to only offer services that maybe unnecessary or "TOP OF THE LINE" while they decline or ignore more practical, economic or standard options for the sake of a making more profit. All this is fair business, but I feel sorry for the fool who enters a dental office complaining of excruciating pain due to his rotten or broken tooth and unwilling to wait any longer to alleviate the suffering finds him or herself in an extremely disadvantage position and paying, unnecessarily, top dollars for his/her misfortune. This business is located in a low to middle income area where probably more than just some people maybe in a paycheck to paycheck situation. So my advice to any dental office is, if you are taking advantage of the naive, sick or uninformed consumer, please move some where else where people wouldn't mind coughing up a few thousand dollars for what otherwise is just a simple Tooth Filling!!! My advice to the readers is; Pay your fee for the consultation, let them do their job and get your quote on writing. Ask for copies of all the documents that you put your signature on and copies of your x-rays (you or your Insurance paid for them so they are yours), and if your insurance is not paying 100% for the offered services, walk away. Then call other locations and tell them that you know what your want done and work the best quote possible. Don't take the Dentist "best advice". Remember, they can careless about you. All they see in you is their next car payment. Additional tips: Be aware that if you have insurance they will be billing them for whatever service they provide you (on top of you out of pocket deductible). If they don't like what the Insurance is paying them, they may for example tell you that the "cleaning" that your insurance pays is just a wipe, a tooth pick and brush (or some sort of BS). And if you want to receive the proper work you must pay top dollars for the "real" cleaning. Call your insurance company and inform them of this (I will). Also make sure you receive the service they are billing. If you are not sure ask them to clarify any doubts you may have and notify your Insurance if notice any discrepancy. I love this place! Never have I ever felt so comfortable coming to the dentist! The dr is very knowledgeable when it comes to dentistry. All the staff is amazing! As soon as I come in into the office, the nervousness goes away! I've never felt that way about the dentist. Janice is always so nice! She always starts a conversation with me and remembers little things. Treating not only like a customer more like a friend. She also showed me the proper way to floss. I had left a good review not knowing what I got myself into. The Dentist is great and very professional. She is the main and only reason I continued to take my family here. The receptionist is always on her phone. If she's not texting or talking on her personal phone during working hours, she's usually arguing with clients when I'm present. Which I totally get, she's very unprofessional and unorganized so ppl in our position get upset that her job isn't her priority. Today I was due for an appointment. I had noted down on my planner due to inconveniences from these past few years. I have been told a certain dates for an appointment, I show up and apparently it's my fault that I wrote the date wrong. I ALWAYS make sure to ask twice on the date and time because this has happened before. So frustrating! My kids have missed school before due to the receptionist, Noemi giving me wrong dates and showing the day of and then proceeds to tell me I have the date wrong. i've been bleeding for months do not go here they failed operation and lied to me saying operation went well and i would heal. i went back after months of pain and found out they failed to remove a wisdom tooth broke my top of tooth and it is rotting and need it removed according to them. i paid for them to remove the tooth and have to pay again somewhere else. they did not tell me i needed surgery again until after i saw my tooth on the x-ray. the dental assistant said that's not the tooth we removed it's still there. and i knew it was the tooth they tried to remove.. the broke it and told me i would heal because i'm healthy warning warning warning do not go here ive been bleeding for months thinking im healing because they said im healthy and will heal but then they say i need surgery or it will rot and i will need root canal?!? smh read more

I've been going to their office for a few months now, I had a couple of fillings and a root canal and every time I always get good service and they do an excellent job. Once you walk in your greeted by Naomi, she is very polite and honest she definitely takes the time to explained what your insurance covers. Just recently I had a problem with my daughter and I know due to COVID not a lot of places are open but I called their office and Noemi was nice enough to squeeze her in their schedule. My daughter had a tooth pulled and 5 fillings. The staff was very patient, and the doctor was really nice and professional I would definitely recommend this office. I came to Panorama City Dental because I recently was eligible for Dental benefits thru my employer, considering I also work in the medical field, I know that HMO insurance isn't all that great but that was all my employer is offering at this moment. I googled and yelped dentist offices up and down and found Panorama City Dental. Reviews were good so then I gave them a try. The staff were all very friendly and the dentist was very sweet, hours are good and the location isn't too bad, other than the lack of parking but thats not their fault. Why the 2 stars? Well, I was seen 3 months ago and was told, by the receptionist, that she had to submit some documentation to my insurance in order to get approved for some dental work. Ok! Cool, no problem. I understand how the HMO process works so it didn't bother me at all. So, then I waited about 3 weeks with not one call from the dental office regarding the status of my referral. Another week goes by and still nothing. At this point, I was wondering if she forgot to submit the documentation and/or forgot to follow up with the authorizations department with my insurance. SO then I called the dental office to get a status. The receptionist advised me that they haven't received any information and to allow another week or so for a response. OK, fine! So i did.... Its been 3 months now since my visit and I haven't heard a decision regarding the referral. I called her again...her answer regarding the referral was "we received a denial a month ago"... Wait? What?! A month ago???!! I was speechless and dumbfounded that no one took the time to call me regarding the denial. There was also no voicemail left on my cell phone, even tho, she claims there was documentation of a vm being left. BTW I am really good at checking my messages and emails and I know 100% a vm was not left. Also, there are other forms to getting a hold of your patients i.e.. email, text and or their spouse number, which none were attempted. I mean, this is one of the reasons why we, as patients, give you contact information on our first visit, right? I am really disappointed with the follow through of the referral and not having the courtesy to call your patients and give them a "heads up". Instead I was left wondering "whats going on with my referral?" for 3 months. Great customer service is way more than just a friendly smile and an awesome attitude. You have to put yourself in your patients shoes and empathize with them. Even if you don't have an answer regarding a referral and you realized "shoot! its been 2 weeks since I've submitted this referral" call the insurance company and find out what the delay is and also keep your patients in the loop, we will really appreciate the follow up and we will know we were not forgotten. I promise, it'll avoid getting phone calls from upset patients. Again, I'm very disappointed with the front desk and the lack of communication. Maybe, its my fault for being too nice and not being on her about it but its not my job to harass anyone nor is it part of my persona. My advice to future patients is just follow up with any pending authorizations you have with this office so that you're not "left out" like I was. Again, the staff was great and welcoming but the lack of taking the extra step and not following through caused me to look elsewhere for me dental needs. read more

I had a dental emergency but since Dr. Nijoo, at that time was out of town, the office manager, immediately took action and contacted Dr. Nikjoo to get a dental advise for my current condition. Knowing about my dental history, they contacted my pharmacy and prescribed me the medication which will help relieve any pain or discomfort, until I am seen by Dr. Nikjoo.
