Dr Willman is no longer with the practice. Huge, enormous, gigantic loss for Pima Dental. About four months ago, I returned because I needed to molars extracted. Let me note that after the extractions I had fully intended beginning work on all my lower teeth, fully expecting to make another substantial investment. This practice is not inexpensive... in my view it is extremely overpriced (especially after I share what happened below). I was prepared to pay another substantial amount to complete my treatment. I did miss one appointment due to a personal emergency. I attempted to call but was unable to get through, and at the time my focus understandably had to be on the emergency. At my next scheduled appointment, I drove over 45 minutes from north Phoenix. I arrived and had X-rays done, and then met with a dentist who informed me that two teeth would need to be extracted by an oral surgeon and that the procedure could not be done there. While the dentist was courteous, the appointment ultimately resulted in a two-hour round trip simply to be referred elsewhere. I wish this had been communicated to me beforehand. As I was leaving, I was stunned when I was told not to leave and was informed that I owed a $50 missed-appointment fee. Mandy, the office manager, whom I had worked with before made it be known that I needed to pay $50. What disappointed me most was not the amount itself, but the complete lack of empathy or discretion--especially toward a long-standing patient who had already invested heavily in the practice and was prepared to invest significantly more. I understand that offices have cancellation policies. However, patient relationships should involve more than strict enforcement of fees. In my experience, this practice places profits above patient goodwill and patient satisfaction. Between the high costs of treatment and the rigid handling of this situation, it left me feeling that policies mattered more than people. As a business owner myself, I believe long-term trust, empathy, and relationships are what sustain a practice--not nickel-and-diming loyal patients. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to seek care elsewhere for the remainder of my treatment, and I will not be recommending this office moving forward ever again! I hope this feedback is taken constructively. My initial experience here was excellent, attributed primarily to Dr Willman, which makes this outcome all the more disappointing.

The new doctor was so-so, and they also experienced hygienist and front desk turnover that was less than for the better. Both of my young adult daughters also commented on how off-putting their experiences were, but Oh well - we decided to give them a solid try. Fast forward to 6 months later and I arrive a few minutes early for my 8a appointment (after a text message an email and three annoying phone calls from them confirming and re-confirming my attendance), only to sit waiting for 15 minutes until I asked what was the delay. I was advised they were short-staffed and because I had to get to work, I rescheduled. Just yesterday I arrived for my reschedule, was left sitting for 10 minutes, then had my cleaning. After the cleaning the hygienist told me we were done and wished me well - no exam or check-in my a doctor. I asked why not, and was advised that their standard procedure was that the doctor didn't come in for an exam unless the patient requested it or the hygienist finds something concerning; this has NEVER been the procedure in 20 years of going every 6 months. At my mention of this concern she told me she could summon the doctor if I wanted, but by now I was over it. Overall, I am very disappointed by the downward slide of this practice and will be seeking a new care provider. I also don't think my insurance provider would appreciate the knowledge that despite them paying the provider for a routine exam and cleaning, this practice only really provides a cleaning unless the issue is pressed. Well, the same lady who said she was the doctor said she was also going to do my scraping cleaning because the machine was down. While she did the cleaning, she put a piece of cotton in between my bottom teeth and my lip, where she proceeded to wipe the stuff that she scraped from my teeth onto it, right inside my mouth! I was mortified at the lack of hygiene. I asked her to stop doing that because it's disgusting and nobody has ever done that in my entire life going to Dentists. Between that and the broken equipment, I also thought she didn't know what she was doing After she was done, another woman polished my teeth, but she smeared the polish all over my teeth before she use the machine which I thought was very strange and again asked myself if these people knew what they were doing. He put me on a VIVOS DNA appliance which helped me immediately (I strongly urge anyone who has sleep apnea, TMJ, breathing issues, etc. to look into VIVOS...it's groundbreaking). From the first night I wore it, my sleep improved drastically and my jaw pain/TMJ decreased. He also found a nasal obstruction in me and referred me to one of the best surgeons in the U.S. to get it fixed. The thing I really appreciate about Dr. Fattah is that he doesn't rest on his laurels. He's constantly improving his deep skills by keeping up to date with the latest research. Every time I come in he tells me about a new tool, laser, study, specialist, etc. that could help me!
