Going to the dentist should not be this relaxing! Great service all around. The staff is small but super friendly! It is such a refreshing change of pace. Dr. Quaidoo will have you leaving with a bigger smile than when you walked in with her warm and sparking personality. The location is great for me because I work at one of the Amazon buildings, so it's a super easy walk over. Anyone who works in downtown Seattle should come here for their cleanings. While the staff was accommodating, the teeth whitening is a complete waste of money. Let me note that I have very healthy and pretty white teeth naturally. For a service that is $600, I could not tell a difference in the color of my teeth. They color match your current tooth shade with a tooth color shade scale. Then after the service, they compare your ending shade to show you the difference. While my starting shade was correct, when they went to match the end shade, the one they matched was much whiter than my actual end result. It felt like they wanted it to seem like it made a larger difference. I honestly couldn't tell a difference from when I came in and when I left. However, I was ensured that they would whiten more in the next 48 hours. I left and followed the instructions for the next 48 hours. At the end of the 48 hours, I barely saw a difference. They worked with me and scheduled a 2nd appointment, but after another service, the end result made only a small difference. I was still shades away from my desired shade on the color scale. While everyone's teeth are different, my natural teeth are pretty white and I expected more than a such a small difference. Especially for such a expensive service. I would have had better or the same result with whitening strips. read more

I have severe dental anxiety which lead to neglecting my dental health. Dr. Q and her staff were so gentle and understanding and never questioned my anxiety. She (Dr. Q) offered Valium for my appointment as she did not have laughing gas available. She was able to fix my broken tooth, as well as fill cavities, and again never made me feel like a horrible person for not taking care of my teeth. She offered easy suggestions to help keep up with flossing and was encouraging to my ideas. She allowed me to pay up front for a small discount, and then credited me back once my insurance covered more than expected! Even though Seattle is not as close to me, she is worth the visit! read more

I've had my first visit at Smile Matters and I was amazed/so impressed from the time I spoke with the receptionist, Sarah, on the phone to make my appt. to the time I saw Dr. Quaidoo and her assts, Jen and Melissa! When scheduling my appt., the young woman, Sarah, has a very pleasant and professional phone demeanor and made me feel like I was definitely in for a treat and at the right place! She was very warm and answered all of my questions with a virtual smile! I needed an urgent first appt. because I suspected that I chipped a tooth. She worked some magic and found a timeslot for me the next morning! I was so thankful and it only got better from there! Upon walking into the office I felt the lovely/warm hues of the upscale decor and was greeted with beautiful smiles! I felt like I had just walked into a premier spa and the vibe was on point! My exam went well and Dr. Quaidoo made me feel like I was her greatest priority as she listened well to what my issue was and shared her plan to address my issue. She and her team were very kind, compassionate, and considerate as they proceeded. After the exam, Dr. Quaidoo advised me that I only needed a minor procedure to fix my tooth, and, to my pleasant surprise, she did share with me that I could get a much more detailed procedure but it is not necessary. I was very thankful that even though she obviously was talking herself out of the $$ that would go along with the detailed procedure, she was clearly more concerned about my well being than about making extra $$! Her integrity speaks for itself and her reputation proceeds her! She delivered on every good review that I read about her and her team! I can't wait to go back for my next appt.! Go figure! My standards are very high and I am confident that I am in the best hands possible to care for my dental care! Not to mention that Dr. Quaidoo's credentials are very impressive as well! From the moment I walked in I felt the friendliness in the office! Every member of the staff was wonderful and attentive. Dr explained everything in a way I could understand and was very gentle and attentive. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable from covering me to a blanket to working with me on a payment plan. I am so happy I chose this dentist as my dentist. Smile Matters is very different than any other dental practice I've ever been too. At first I was concerned because it wasn't very busy. Then I learned that she didn't have a full time hygienist and was very concerned. What kind of dentist doesn't have a hygienist? When I met her she was kind and polite, but quiet. I was worried so I started to ask her some direct questions, like why is it not very busy here and why don't you have a hygienist? That's when the magic started! I can't properly summarize what she said, but I learned though our conversation that she was a very calm, intentional person who's first priority is what's really going to work best for her patients. Like for real. Her office is small and quiet because she doesn't feel a lot of chaos is good for her or her patients. As for the hygienist, she likes to do her own scaling so she can get a better picture for herself of what's going on in your mouth. It made a lot of sense. If anything, I want the person whose diagnosing issues with my teeth to spend MORE time in my mouth, not less. And if your goal is providing good care rather than making a ton of money, you can take that kind of time with your patients. When we realized what was going on with the pain in my mouth, I panicked because of the likely cost, but she presented a very workable plan of action, providing a few different options to consider. In the end she helped me choose a very conservative approach, even though that option would not be lucrative to her at all, because she knew I was concerned. When you come to Dr. Q's office, don't plan on a flashy hi-tech office with machines and people bustling all over the place. Just plan on really good care. read more

But I needed to see someone fairly quickly, so I decided to take a chance. It turned out to be one of the best professional referrals I've ever received. Dr. Quaidoo and her staff are attentive, responsive, and highly skilled. Scheduling was easy and she was sensitive to my budgetary limits. I was so happy with the bridge she made for me that I had her redo a set of veneers as well. I couldn't be happier with the results. I have been meaning to write a review on my primary yelp account for this dentist - who changed my LIFE. I visited this Dr. to learn more about the snap on smiles they have, and she gave me a very honest up front expectation of how it would look and feel. When it arrived, I was really disappointed with how it looked. I felt like i was being overly picky, but the teeth were just too long and didn't look right on me at all and I was embarrassed of them, and feared I had made a big mistake. I didn't - the dr invited me back in after very kindly explaining to me how she could alter them, and then worked her magic and reshaped them, and now I'm obsessed with my new look!!!!!! I really am. I have gotten more compliments and a few people ask who did my veneers....lol. Seriously though - I felt so comfortable with her. She is genuine, up front, honest....I had a previous experience with a dentist where I felt a bit taken advantage of in terms of what they wanted to charge me, and I didn't feel that way here at ALL. I will actually go back to her even for my cleanings now, and the location is in no way convenient for me. I just really like this dentist! read more
