This is not an honest business. They told me I needed 5 root canals and crowns, I got a second opinion and I only had one small cavity. They also claimed to take my insurance, but they were truly not in-network. What they quoted as $30,000 turned out to be $150 at a different dentist. I went for an appointment a few years ago as a young adult and I feel they took advantage of my lack of knowledge of dental work and how dental insurance worked. I'm writing a review now because this experience still bothers me even now, and after I've learned more about how normal dentist offices are run the issues here are more apparent. Our sons have been seeing Dr Tong for years. There is no hesitation when going to get their check ups and cleanings every six months. His treatment plans are practical and necessary. Please be careful going to this dental office. They told my wife she needed 2 extractions and replacement teeth put in, the price quoted was $14,000!!!!! Of course my wife did not feel comfortable with their assessment and the price quoted, she sought a 2nd opinion and all she needed was a root canal, my wife has been pin free, and has had no issues. They try to be extra nice and extra attentive, don't fall for it! Please don't waste your time going here. See a dentist that knows what they are talking about. read more

a few months ago I broke part of a filling . I came here. I was wary but it turned out ok. I am experiencing some pain in a lower molar and called for an appointment with the young doctor I'd seen the first time. The receptionist researching it, told be she thought the young dentist was still employed there and that I would get a call back to confirm and schedule an appointment. I called yesterday when I received no call back and was told the young dentist I'd previously seen was no longer employed there ( no surprise) but I could be fit in at 4:30 today. It's freezing, it's pouring rain and I left work and went. When I got there the receptionist ( she called herself "the team leader"----seriously) told me that my appointment was canceled because I didn't confirm yesterday. I made the appointment yesterday! I asked for the name of the person I spoke with -'nope she doesn't know who that might have been . I asked to speak with someone in charge there. Nope, no one who is in charge of anything is there. I could hang around and see if there was a dentist that might see me. That was it. I was given a business card with the name of the CEO and the general email for the practice. Go somewhere else. You can definitely do better read more

I have to start by saying I have a huge fear of going to the dentist, not your normal "I dont want to go" fear, I am truly scared, so once I find a dentist I will usually stay there. I went to this office because my husband recommend them after I got some (unnecessary) work done at a previous dentist that led me to have to get more 2 root canals and the second one left me in more pain then before!! I didn't want to go back to the dentist that had done the original root canal and I was just going to live with pain hoping it would go away but 3 days later on my way to family trip in PA I was in so much pain I couldn't take it anymore and decided to give them a call, and I am soooo happy I did! From the moment I called everyone was so nice, accommodating, and pleasant! My husband told me to see Dr. Tong so when I called I obviously asked for him and was lucky that he had an app open right away. The second I walked in I felt comfortable, they knew who I was and were calling me by my name like they had known me forever and made me feel so welcome! I went in to see the doctor and OMG was he and his assistant so warm, caring, comforting, and funny!! Dr. Tong is amazing, he fixed the immediate issue which was that the filling in the root canal was too high and filed it down so it was not hitting the other tooth anymore which made a world of difference!! I cant tell you how happy I am that I found them, I dont think I will ever be going to anyone else! The tooth still needs to be worked on as I think I will needs another root canal in that tooth because there is still a root there and I am still in pain but that is from the previous doctor, I am actually looking forward to be able to finally go back and get it fixed by them and be out of pain!! The only reason why I have not gone back yet is because im pregnant and would like to try to hold out as long as I can but if I cant wait until birth I have 100% trust in that office and especially in Dr. Tong!! If you have a fear of the dentist like I do and want good quality work done by caring compassionate people please do yourself a favor and go to this office, I promise you will be so happy you did!! read more

Yes there is such a thing as painless dental work. This dentist office is so good job at it, that I actually look forward to my dental appointments. The office staff is warm and welcoming. Dr. Davidson pays full attention to his patients and I felt that I am in good hands. He is thorough and his attention to details will surprise you. Dan does an extremely good job at cleaning. I went to their location on 19 Legion St. in Bergenfield, NJ. I can't say enough about the fantastic, high-quality service and faciltities at this place. The environment was extremely comfortable, with top of the line equipment. I especially liked the complimentary paraffin wax for the hands. They honored my group-on coupon with no complaint. Them seem very responsive when I first tried them for check-up and cleaning, they understood budget was a concern for me and said they would not charge beyond their estimate if insurance covered less, since they were out-of-network. I felt comfortable enough to have other service with them, again they said they would never ask for more than their pre-estimate even if insurance covered less and if insurance covered more would give me more back. For a recent root canal and crown, they offered prepayment discount if I paid in full, since insurance was slow to reimburse and would refund me once insurance reimbursed them. Again said they would never request more than pre-estimate. This is were things fell apart, after checking with insurance to confirm reimbursement, I had to chase for refund of my prepayment and now all of a sudden the numbers don't work. They are deducting more from my prepayment than initial promised. In addition, the root canal surprising was performed by in-network provider, so as they initially said I would get even more back than the pre-estimate they provided to me. However, dental office is now telling me they cannot honor the in-network negotiated rate and said they would speak to my insurance company about changing that "in-network" designation, which sounds not quite legal. Still waiting for my refund and to hear how they calculated the promised refund, which is less than their initial estimate before root canal was processed as in-network. I hate it when they play games with insurance and money when they know that budget was a big concern from the start. read more

Won't go back! Honestly, it's the most expensive dental practice I've ever experienced. They try to impress with paraffin hand treatments, coffee, cookies, water, and a gift bag of stuff, none of which I wanted. Let's be honest, do you really think that stuff is free? No! it's undoubtedly factored into the costs that they charge their clients. They won't even tell you over the phone if they take your insurance until they get you in the door only that "we work with all insurances" which I have learned means "not in the network". I specifically, told the practice over the phone I wanted an in-network provider as to save money. The dentist was mildly arrogant and came across like a used car salesman. read more
