I called before making the appointment for our two children to make sure Smile Shoppe was an in-network provider for our insurance. I was told they do accept our insurance. After the appointment was finished we were told we owed several hundred dollars. We asked why that was and then told it was an out of network service. Come to find out the Smile Shoppe is most certainly in-network to our insurance but the dentist that performed the services is an out of network provider for our insurance. So please be very careful with this place. While we were there waiting I watched them inform two other families of large amounts that were unexpectedly due and I have a feeling they are doing this to anyone they can. That is a lack of integrity and very unprofessional. We will not be going back!! read more

I recently brought in my son Max (17 yr old teen) to the Smile Shoppe in Springdale. My experience and service with the office staff, the front desk, the dental assistants, and the Dentist - Dr. Sliger was top notch. The courtesy and professionalism extended to us was above and beyond. Dr.Sliger has fantastic communication skills and she is the best in her field. She really understands how to connect with her patients and make them feel comfortable. She really has that 'special touch' with kids. I appreciated her depth of knowledge, openness, and her clear communication with my husband and I when it came down to treatment options. Dr Sliger is so wonderful with my kids. She's highly knowledgeable & always professional. She always goes above & beyond with her assessments & recommendations. Not just a basic cleaning & checkup- she goes into detail about oral health & how to be proactive. We initially established care with her when she was at a practice in Bentonville & are so happy we found out where her new office is! She's at Smile Shoppe in Springdale. Dr. Sliger is fighting with our insurance to cover her vast dental needs. I'm so thankful to have a medical professional that does the advocating for me. We took our son out to Springdale for a new patient exam and the experience did not disappoint. Katelyn was very thorough in explaining on the needs of the his care and took the time to explain to my son as well so he understood what exactly was needed from him to take care of his teeth. I took my grandchildren to the Smile Shop in Springdale, because they were booked-up in Rogers on the day we could go. They live out of state, but one of them had a bad toothache and couldn't eat. They gave me an emergency appointment right away. I took advantage and requested also a cleaning for to the youngest one. It turned out the older one needed an emergency procedure. Dr. Sliger was awesome and patient, my grandson didn't even know he was given sedatives. Dr. Sliger sang for him and he did not complain even once. The youngest one seemed to enjoy the hygienist's motherly disposition and storytelling. I highly recommend this pediatric office and hope to take my grandkids again in future occasions. read more

Had my three children as patients here for the past 6+ years. Left multiple messages and after two weeks finally got in contact with their scheduling service to find out why my children's appointments had been changed. The woman in the phone wouldn't let me speak to ask how this happened, and forcefully continued to talk over me, before she yelled at me for speaking up then proceeded to hang up on me. I ALWAYS schedule my children together as we drive 20+ miles for this dentist. I don't know how they got changed to different days, or why. I wasn't allowed to ask, I was just screamed at. When I called back to ask to speak with someone to figure out why this was all happening, the same woman answered and began screaming at me immediately. She continued to yell at me, accuse me of speaking over her and threaten me. I was told I wouldn't hear from anyone till later and told I was the problem. This really sucks because my kids like the dentists there and we've never had any issue with anyone there or anything but kind, prompt and positive experiences. Obviously a simple scheduling error could have been handled better if, 1) you could reach some one at the actual office you are trying to see. 2) the operator would pause long enough to listen to my actual question 3) when someone is having a bad day, maybe she shouldn't be left answering the phones and taking her anger out on your customers. No one deserves to be treated this way. read more

Dr. Jessica Sliger is an amazing pediatric dentist! Her heart is made to work with kids. She goes above and beyond for my boys. One of my sons is special needs and she is so gentle and patient with him. She always makes sure he is comfortable and gives him time to be relaxed and enjoy the dentist. I couldn't imagine bringing my kids to anyone else. Highly recommend her! She deserves more then 5 stars. Thank you for always taking care of our family, Dr. Sliger. Today was our first visit with Smile Shoppe after leaving a large pediatric dental group in Fayetteville where I felt my kids were shuffled in and out like a number by the robotic hygienists. I was referred by a friend and expectations were high. Those expectations were met immediately. Friendly office staff, hygienists who took the time to speak with my daughter who was crying and scared, and a dentist who walked through all procedures and plans in a professional manner. My daughter who usually doesn't leave my side was reaching for Jami by the end of the appointment because she felt comfortable and her worries were met with compassion. Not sure how you can even complain about this awesome place! Maybe over exaggerating people do. This place makes kids feel like they're in a kid world! The staff is amazing in their skills, very organized, and very very nice! My kiddos love coming here to get their teeth checked out! They know how to properly explain and calm a child as well, my 2 and 7 year old did super excellent! Take your kiddos here! Some kiddos don't like the dentist at all, and that's normal, but this place will make them change their mind! read more

I give 3 stars because the dentist was great as were the dental assistants. I had my two kids there, ages 5 and 2. Our 2 year old lost it as soon as we got there and maintained that tantrum the entire visit but the dentist and assistant handled it great. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the front office staff wasn't great. I couldn't even get our two year old in the door without putting down my purse and diaper bag because she was having such a meltdown. And before I could even get the door shut the office girl greets me with a lecture on being late and putting everyone else behind. Please note on my way there, once I was realized we would be about 5 mins late I called them to make sure that would be ok and I was told it was fine not to worry. I was mortified about my two year old's meltdown and stressed out and this girl either doesn't have kids or much empathy for the situation I was in. I wanted to cry because she said it in front of everyone and obviously didn't care that I was not having the best day and dealing with the epic tantrum of the century. I asked if it would help on the paperwork if everything was the same as before (we'd been here multiple times before) and they said no. I rushed through the paperwork as fast as humanely possible while also trying to quiet and calm down the two year old. To no success by the way. My advice to the management is to teach their front office staff a little kindness and understanding, maybe ask if you can help? If not that, at least don't be rude. Or if someone calls and warns you they're 5 mins late and they ask if that's ok, don't tell them it is if you're going to lecture them about it once they get there. read more

Yesterday I had the worst experience with the dentist at this location. I left in tears along with my 8 year old daughter. She was in to have 4 baby teeth pulled which I thought would be quick and simple but I was wrong. Besides the fact that they didn't administer any numbing gel before giving her a shot in her mouth (which made her cry and even more nervous to proceed), the dentist was more focused with keeping my daughter quiet than trying to comfort her while trying to pull her teeth. The dentist was upset and annoyed at my daughter for making noise and covered her mouth twice w her gloved hand and told her she was too old to be acting this way (SHES 8!!). She never once tried to comfort my daughter instead made her even more nervous by snipping at her and getting down in her face telling her to be quiet. After getting the tool on her second tooth and proceeding to yank the tooth my daughter yelled out and instead of just pulling the tooth all the way out, the dentist ripped off her mask and said she couldn't proceed. Which I understand they want my daughter quiet so not to scare the other patients, but at least try and comfort her and show concern instead of being angry at her. We ended up leaving w only one tooth pulled and a VERY TRAUMATIZED 8 YEAR OLD. read more
