I took my 2.5 year old for her first dental appointment today, and Smile Station was an amazing experience! To start, the lovely lady at reception was welcoming, kind and the perfect introduction to the office! The office itself has lots of games, video games and toys in the waiting area to keep kids of all ages entertained while they wait, as well as TVs with movies and shows for kids going. When we went back, right when our appointment was scheduled to start, our hygienist, who I think was named Abbie (so sorry if I got the wrong name!) was so nice and put my toddler at ease so quickly! I was nervous that her first appointment would be rough because it's a new experience and she can be very shy with people, but Abbie engaged her so well! Our dentist, Dr. Amanda was also amazing with her! She explained options for tooth paste and gave good advice about when/how to change it up as my daughter grows. I'm so very thrilled we will be bringing my daughter here! Can't say enough great things about the staff at Smile Station. They are so friendly and welcoming. It's a great atmosphere the games in the waiting room for kids actually work and they explain everything. Tell you what insurance will or won't cover very detailed and everything highly recommend and my kids love picking out toys at the end it makes it a really fun experience going one time my little son was afraid and now looks forward to going. At the risk of sounding rude towards the other Dentists in town...there is only one pediatric dentist I'll take my kids to visit. The care is top notch, detailed, and about as easy to schedule, as you can. Two locations in town! They also worked really hard to get both my kids in back-to-back. Such a help to not have to do the School-Check-Out Shuffle times 2. I've never felt rushed, 1:1 dentist care, and the flow/setup is a kid's dream. Insurance paperwork is simple and painless. Parent's Dream. Note: It must be a hassle to go to dinner with Dr. Matt. Everyone who has kids, knows Dr. Matt! Say Hi, then let the man enjoy his meal. Joking Aside. Amazingly perfect. We'll never go anywhere else! Bonus: if you're doing any Orthodontic work with Omaha Ortho, it's ridiculous smooth how well they work together. The coordination and Provider Communication is immediate and organized. They even deconflict appointments. Took all the stress out of referral care. We wanted to go with a pediatric dentist so that they would specialize in dealing with kids who have never had dental work. And that's exactly what we got. The entire staff seemed very well-versed in what would work for kids, and they were very flexible, meaning if something didn't work for my kid, they would jump into another strategy. Ultimately, we ended up getting his x-rays and his teeth cleaned with very little fuss from my four-year-old. He was excited to have prizes at the end that he had earned by exhibiting good behavior during the cleaning. They seem to be very well-equipped for dealing with children, and making it a positive experience overall. My only complaint is with scheduling. Every time you call, you're not gonna get a real person and you'll have to leave a message. I'm guessing this is because they're just extremely busy. But just expect that you may or may not actually talk to a real person every time you call. But they are very good at following up on messages that you do leave. They take a wide variety of insurances , including mine, which is MetLife. read more

Great experience each time we've been! For our nervous kiddo, this is a great spot. They make sure to pump up the kid about his brushing.

Frankly, we had a horrible experience today at Smile Station with Dr. Jamie Bass and her dental assistant. Before even getting to the end of the hallway, the dental assistant took one look at my nonverbal seven-year-old son with autism and asked if I still wanted to do the appointment today. She mentioned rescheduling for the OR which I had previously declined and communicated this to Jamie at our last visit. At that time, Jamie had stated that this was not mandatory and the other option was to schedule a 6 month follow-up appointment, which we did. The dental assistant today was huffing and puffing to the other staff when I said I still wanted the appointment (they were the ones who had scheduled it anyway?). Then Jamie came in and tried to open his mouth once and went straight to recommending him to do the cleaning in the OR under anesthesia. Her interaction with him was literally 5 seconds total. I understand that they will often recommend the OR but there wasn't even a hello to my son or anything to make him feel more comfortable. Having autism, he was in fight and flight mode, and she then goes on to describe the way that he is interacting is "dangerous" and and "scary" while I eventually get him to sit calmly in my lap. No ma'am, my son's autism is not scary or dangerous. I am actually appalled that there is a pediatric dentist who would be using such terms. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at this pediatric dental office. From the moment we walked in, the environment felt unprofessional. The dental assistants and hygienists were talking loudly across the room about their personal lives--so loudly that I could hear full conversations while my child was being treated. It was distracting, uncomfortable, and honestly made it hard to trust that they were fully focused on their patients. On top of that, the whole place gave off a very money-driven vibe. It felt like every recommendation came with an upsell, and there wasn't much effort to explain what was actually necessary versus optional. But the biggest issue by far was the staff's behavior andh constant chatter, laughing, and yelling back and forth made the office feel chaotic and obnoxious instead of calm and child-friendly. I expected a more professional and attentive environment, especially for a pediatric setting. read more

I am so thankful I found Smile Station. Both of my kids go here and I've never been more satisfied or assured they're in the best care. Both their staff and dentists are kind, patient and great at making kids feel safe. This place is probably the coolest pediatric dentistry place I have seen. If we had places like this when I was a kid I probably wouldn't have such a fear of the dentist. They have it all here to keep Kids entertained and make the dentist a positive experience. read more

We have been going to Smile Station for over 2 years now....we love Dr. Carstens and all of the wonderful staff that work there! My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist and ask when they can go back! My oldest is 5, and she enjoys putting on the headphones and watching tv while the work is being done! My youngest is 2, and he enjoys watching the train and hugging their stuffed giraffe! I appreciate how thorough Dr. Carsten is explaining everything...especially when he noticed my son has a lip tie. All the way from the receptionists to the assistants, this office is a fun place to be and we feel very welcome every time we walk through the door! We would never go anywhere else! read more
