We have always loved Smile Station Pediatrics, but my recent visits have made me question my loyalty. We've been clients for several years, and about a year ago, they placed caps on my daughter's teeth. Recently, she has been experiencing dental pain, and during our latest appointment, we learned that the capped teeth are becoming infected and she has began developing an abscess. The dentist recommended that the teeth be removed. Unfortunately, when I tried to schedule the removal appointment, I was informed that there was a $300 scheduling fee, despite having good insurance. This fee was required because the appointment would take longer than usual. Today, when I called to schedule the extraction, the receptionist was incredibly unhelpful. She suggested that my 5-year-old could wait a month and a half for an appointment, even with the infection and abscess. I urged her to consult with the dentist about getting an earlier appointment, but she dismissed my concerns and suggested that I find another dental practice. I'm really disappointed, as my kids have always enjoyed their visits here. However, after this experience, I'm hesitant to continue coming to a place where the staff seems indifferent to my child's health and well-being. read more

We have been going to Smile Station for over 2 years now....we love Dr. Carstens and all of the wonderful staff that work there! My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist and ask when they can go back! My oldest is 5, and she enjoys putting on the headphones and watching tv while the work is being done! My youngest is 2, and he enjoys watching the train and hugging their stuffed giraffe! I appreciate how thorough Dr. Carsten is explaining everything...especially when he noticed my son has a lip tie. All the way from the receptionists to the assistants, this office is a fun place to be and we feel very welcome every time we walk through the door! We would never go anywhere else! read more

We have been so happy at Smile Station! The staff have always been so welcoming and know how to make kids feel comfortable! My 3 year old had to get a tooth pulled and as traumatic as this can be for a kid, they treated her so well. We received a follow-up phone call that evening from the dentist! Following the extraction, at her 6 month appointment, she was so nervous but as soon as she walked through the doors, they took her mind off of being scared. My Daughter and I absolutely love Dr. Rick and his staff!! We highly recommend him and his staff to everyone who asks for a dentist for their kids!!! I have seen him recommended by other parents as well!! The staff at this location are amazing and so patient with each child no matter their needs!!! He keeps amazing records too!! There is a concern I have with two of her teeth, I brought it up last visit and he said right away he already has a plan when she is 6 1/2!!! We recently moved to Omaha and were in need of a new dental home. I had many recommendations to go to Smile Station. Everyone was right! They are SPECTACULAR! The front desk was very welcoming! The dental assistants left an impression on my kiddos. My 8 year old even remembers her name, Hanna! They were very patient and fun. Our dentist, Dr. Cushing, was great with the kids. He has great bedside manner. The theme of the dental office is adorable! The kids will always look forward in picking a prize. read more

Dr. Rick has treated both of my sons with excellent care! My oldest is autistic and needs a lot of encouragement, time and pre-teaching. Dr. Rick and staff has shown the most patience in helping to deal with him! My youngest has had a lot more work, and has never cried or been scared because he feels so at ease with Dr. Rick and his staff. He even asked if he could invite Dr. Rick to his birthday party! Dr Rick is great. My son was terrified of dentists after an experience at a different office. Dr Rick was patient and took the time to win his trust. I am so happy we went with a pediatric dentist! Smile Station is just great all around, from the doctors to their notification systems. My kid loves going to the dentist!!
