Smile station has been the most amazing office for our family. The dentists here care about the well being of your child along with their teeth health. What I mean by this is that they make sure your child feels comfortable, work with them when they feel scared to build their comfort level, and make sure your that if your child is scared they ease into everything. They have never made us feel like they were doing extra or unnecessary work, walk you through everything, and explain things throughly. The office main lobby is beautiful and clean with all things kids love. The back office is even more fun. A tv for kids to watch a how with multiple choices at each station, a fun train at the ceiling that goes around the entire office, and fun prizes for the kids after each visit along with the usual toothbrush and toothpaste. This office really cares about your children's well being and the staff is so friendly. We really appreciate and love smile station! read more

Wow! Dr.Rick and his team were amazing! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind. The design and decor is very kid friendly and helps them feel more at ease. At other offices I've been to I just never got a welcoming feeling or that thought of "this is the right dentist for us." At smile station I got that feeling. I feel confident in the staff and that they really care about our kids. I highly reccomend this dentist for your littles! They have televisions on the ceiling for the kids to watch while having work done. There are even toy machines that the kids can pick a toy from when they're done. My son really loved that part! The office is a little cramped but very clean and inviting. I wish I had a cool dentist like this when I was little! read more

So it's actually been about 4 years since I have used this dental office for my children BUT it came up in conversation with a group of moms so I wanted to share my experience. When my son was 5 two of his molars did not develop correctly and needed to be capped. They told me I had to put him under at Boystown to get this done. I asked why it couldn't be done in office and they were afraid he wouldn't sit still. They didn't even TRY!! Went ahead and scheduled it, went through with the procedure, was told my insurance would cover it, they DIDNT. $5000 later and collections I eventually paid it off. Fast forward to my second child. Same thing happened with his molars. They immediately wanted to put him under. I said no and got a second opinion. Dr Weeder took care of him in office so easily and NO caps! Looking back all this place is, is a cash cow. If you don't agree with something double check because they won't provide you with all the options! read more

This is the most amazing group of dentists a parent can ask for! My children look forward to going to the dentist! Dr. Rick Carstens is amazing and our personal family favorite. However, with that being said we have seen a couple of the other dentists at this practice and they are also absolutely amazing! The front desk ladies are amazing. The hygienists are amazing. Very weird, tense, unpleasant experience with DR. Bryce. He was rude, never bothered to go into detail about my kid's issues and we had many. Changed treatment plan multiple times, including how many sealants and fillings will be done. When I asked questions, he got irritated and practically yelled at me while smiling. Very fake care for kids or their worried parents. Another problem with that office is scheduling appointments. They have no days with extended hours, treatment is only done before 3 pm and they have no openings unless you can wait a week or longer. Very unhappy about how they handle insurance and billing. There is another review here on YELP that describes the problem well. They don't seem to check the estimated cost and just make you pay. read more

My girls have been going to Smile Station since they were little. Now, at 14 and 11, they're dental health is in great condition, but even more, they almost look forward to going to the dentist. Who can say that?! It's all due to the staff, who are, and always have been efficient, fun, accommodating, professional, knowledgeable and so friendly. I do not go out of my way to leave reviews often, but that is how wonderful Smile Station has been for our family. I have been taking my children here for over four years now, and I can't imagine going any where else. Where I would normally dread taking 3 kids to the dentist I look forward to our appointments here. They do a great job of making things flow so smoothly from beginning to end. There is great communication and safety measures being taken during the ever changing times. You can tell that all of the staff is very well trained and they take the time to help the kids feel happy an comfortable. Dr. Carstens is very personable and easy to talk to. He does an amazing job of giving me great details and information that helps me to understand what is going on with each one of my children. When we have had things that needed further dental procedures like my oldest son's braces they put my mind to ease and helped me navigate starting that process. I couldn't be happier with the care that we receive here. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

My son is four and a half years old and we've been coming here since his first appointment. He actually LOVES going to the dentist... As a child I hated it (and still do) so it's good to see him comfortable here. They are great with kids from the moment they walk in the door. They let them pick out a new toothbrush when they arrive and get a treat when they leave. They get to watch TV and can see the train going around up above as they are treated. I called to establish my children as new patients after moving to Omaha from another state and they were able to get me in the same day for a consult due to my son having tooth pain. Not only did they see him for the consult that day despite never seeing him as a patient before, but they were able to get the cavity filled immediately, I was expecting to have to come back another time to get the cavity taken care of. I could not be happier with the service and care provided and am happy to have my children seeing such a great dentist! read more

I've been taking my son here to see "Dr. Bryan" (Dr. Hohenstein) for about 9 years now, and we love him. My son has always enjoyed going to the dentist, because the whole experience is always fun and positive with the folks at the Smile Station. There are plenty of things around the waiting room and office to entertain kids, including a train table, video games, and a neat train that chugs around the main exam area. I can't say enough good things about the Smile Station, and the people who work here. I only wish I could get my dental care here too! ;) read more

Amazing dentist! We see dr. Matt and my son looks forward to it. The hygienists are awesome too. The office is clean and they have xbox games in the waiting room for the kids to play while they wait. We never wait more than 5 minutes and they are quick and efficient. My son loves the bag they give him--it's got a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a little prize, etc. They do appt reminders by text and email which is convenient. They handle everything with insurance and are so friendly. We love smile station and will never go anywhere else! read more

My son just had oral surgery with Dr Hohenstein and it went wonderfully! I cannot recommend him enough - excellent dentist!!!

I am not a fan of dentists who only care about your money while pretending to care about your child. I have billing and payment issues since day one. First visit we had to write them a check for $85 because most insurances don't cover it.....they never even ran my insurance and they were not even going to send it to insurance. And guess what....it is covered by my insurance, they only submitted it after ruining their treatment plan they made my husband sign saying our cost would be $1000!!!! Again, they didn't run it through insurance, our responsibility would actually only be $200. The doctor pretended to be worried about my son getting the treatment done ASAP, but my son was scared after the first services were done. We needed to set it up at the hospital ( he's under 5) and soon according to him. Go to their room to set up the surgery, and they don't even show you the treatment plan until you sign the electronic paid without even seeing it! Then They won't even schedule your work until you pay them $285 UP FRONT. No schedule until that's paid, it's a $285 hospital visit charge for the dentist "who cares" that insurance does not cover (trust me, I called to make sure). I can't pay it today so guess what? He's apparently not so worried about it now since I can't write the check. Fake, fake, fake and only nice when you don't question their methods. Absolutely horrible experience and very "fake" compassion. ***update....Brenda did call to basically go over what I posted for my review and everything stands the same. They still don't care unless you write a check....all the compassion is fake if you aren't writing them checks. They won't even work with you on the $285 fee. Simply tried to schedule a first visit for my toddler, and was told I could not schedule later than 2:30pm since the Dr. needs more time on a first visit. When I asked if an exception could be made to accommodate our work schedules (didn't see a need to take a day off work for a non-emergency) I was told, "no". I have spoken with two other dentist offices who will schedule a later appointment, so not sure what led this Practice to determine new patients can only be seen before 2:30pm, but we'll take our family elsewhere to be accommodated. read more

Dr. Bryan Hohenstein is the best pediatric dentist in the state, hands down! Our kids absolutely love going to the dentist and get excited when it's time to go in. The staff does such a great job at keeping the kids calm & informed so they don't fear the dental work being done. We started going to Smile Station 7 years ago when another dentist in town terrified our 3 year old. She wouldn't let anybody near her mouth, not even to brush her teeth, she was terrified from having such a poor experience. A friend recommended Dr. Hohenstein and he worked his magic. He worked with her to ensure that she no longer associated the dentist with bad things, after just 2 appointments at Smile Station her fears began to dissipate. Now at 10 years old she loves going to the dentist and taking care of her teeth. They completely turned a bad situation into a great one & we are extremely grateful for their help & their work. read more
