I came in and the lobby is small but super cute. It smelt so nice inside! The ladies at the front were nice & efficient. I was brought back and the hygienist went straight to work. I got X-rays of my mouth and teeth done. She was skilled at her job because that was the fastest I had ever gotten X-rays done! With someone who has a small mouth I appreciated it. We had some small talk and she got to cleaning my teeth. My God today I needed that! Once she was done Dr. Stafford came in and checked my mouth because I needed a fill-in. She was so kind. She told me there was another area that may be a problem but would keep an eye on it. She suggested other things I may also need to look into but nothing that was pressing at the moment. I didn't realize she knew one of my old dentists and to know she was doing fine made me happy. Back to the front staff she told me about my insurance and when and what they were going to cover and it made it easy for me to budget around the expense. I am glad that I found Dr. Stafford's dental office. I really lucked up again finding a great dentist that has the staff to match!

I drove 20 minutes and left my job and took him out of school to be there and we were there 10 minutes early. At 9:40 I went to the desk and confirmed our appointment was at 9am. They stated we were next and I asked if so how long would it be before we would be next. The receptionist asked someone and they stated they didn't know. My time is valuable and everything did to get to this appointment was a waste. I made a decision at that time this will not be the place for us cause my time and effort wasn't appreciated. Why book appointments if everyone is waiting over an hour to be seen. I guess I got my answer to not move forward and chose a dentist that values their customers. Maybe since I wasn't a paying customer they didn't value me but now you lost a potential customer.

Do you prefer a dentist who is down to earth, professional, caring, gentle and experienced? If you…read moredon't this is not the place for you but if you do - Dr. Miller is your guy! After a few bad dental experiences I was forced to find a new dentist. I envisioned a cave, Ogres and White Walkers but what I found was Dr. Miller. Dr. Miller was chosen from a list provided to us by our dental insurance. He doesn't have many reviews but I rolled the dice. I live close by so I did some recon. Outside the building is cute with floor to ceiling windows. It doesn't look intimidating at all. OFFICE DESCRIPTION: The office is cute on the inside and out. Looks like a storybook building. Lots of sunlight to keep you feeling positive while you wait to be tortured. The building is VERY clean. They have sanitizer for you and practice social distancing seating in the lobby. COVID Precautions: The staff wear masks and take your temperature at intake. They are kind and have been each and every visit. They make you feel like you're not on your way to be tortured with their soothing voices and smiles. Also, they don't appear to be Ogres in disguise. Bedside Manner: Dr. Miller is a genuinely nice person. He is interested in what you have to say (if he's not he does a good job of pretending) and he didn't torture me. Ending: Dr. Miller has a gentle demeanor and hand. He explains the process before and checks with you throughout your procedure. I had a bad experience with another dentist and came to Dr. Miller full of anxiety. I ramble a lot when I'm anxious. He didn't seem impatient. When I left my teeth were fixed and I didn't have to mortgage my house.

I was excited to return and schedule a deep cleaning, but unfortunately, this is where things went wrong. I understand that deep cleanings can be uncomfortable, but this was the worst experience I've ever had. The hygienist rushed through the procedure and was extremely rough. She insisted that deep cleanings aren't supposed to feel soft, which I understand, but I've had one before, and it was never this bad. We didn't go over the process beforehand; instead, she simply asked me to read and sign the consent form. As soon as I agreed, she immediately applied the numbing cream to my gums in a rushed manner. She didn't allow enough time for the numbing cream or anesthesia shot to take effect before she started the procedure. I had to tap her to stop because she began drilling at high power before I was even properly numb. I told her I was in pain, but she barely responded. She didn't suction my mouth properly, and I felt drool dripping onto my shirt. At one point, she squirted water on my face and only wiped it off after she noticed me reaching for paper towels myself. Additionally, I informed her that I'm hard of hearing, but this seemed to annoy her whenever I asked her to repeat something. I would recommend this place for other dental services, but I strongly advise against getting a cleaning here.

Having said that, the Dentist came to do his examination and said I have no caries and my gums are healthy, but that I do have some worn enamel due to grinding of my teeth. I said that is correct, because I occasionally have tooth sensitivity to hot or cold water. He recommended using a Mouth Guard, which I had used a long time ago and still have at home. I had told the office when I signed in that I do not want any procedure not covered by my insurance due to my experience at a previous dental office some years back( Dental Office on 216 Dalton Dr, DeSoto). At this point I requested to have regular cleaning done. To my utmost surprise, the dental assistant said they can only perform procedure "recommended by the dentist". I asked her how much that will be out of pocket, to which she said about $500. I said I don't want it done since there is nothing bothering me, I only need a routine cleaning. She said their policy only perform procedures recommended by the dentist. I am NEVER going back there . The insurance is going to pay them for taking my X-Rays and they will probably bill with some other service code to get paid while they did not do ANYTHING for me.

09/30/2025 I would…read morelike to begin by commending Jiasia and the other front desk staff for their outstanding customer service. From check-in through communication with the dental assistants, my experience was excellent, and I am truly grateful for the professionalism and kindness shown at the front desk. Unfortunately, my visit took a concerning turn once I was seen by Juanita, the hygienist. At approximately 4:30 p.m., I explained to her that I have sensitivity in my upper left and lower right jaw before the cleaning began. I also mentioned that I initially believed my appointment was for an extraction, but after she clarified it was for a cleaning, I agreed to proceed without hesitation. During the cleaning, I was not offered any preparation for my gums or suctioning to ease the discomfort. When I raised my hand to signal pain, Juanita accused me of "trying to hit her in the face." When I raised my hand a second time, she repeated this accusation, stating I was "acting like" I was going to strike her. These comments were accusatory and inappropriate, as I was only signaling discomfort. I even asked her what alternative signal I could use, but she did not provide a response. Instead, she left the room, ending the cleaning prematurely. This experience was extremely upsetting. I was left in pain, had to spit into a paper towel without suction, and felt unjustly accused of aggression. I hold a Doctorate in Special Education with an emphasis in behavior, and I professionally train teachers and students on how to identify, interpret, and appropriately respond to behavioral cues. Because of this expertise, I am confident in my ability to communicate non-aggressively and to use appropriate signals to express discomfort. To have my calm and intentional actions misinterpreted as aggressive, and to be accused of attempting to strike someone, was not only inaccurate but also deeply unprofessional. As a long-term patient of Wheatland Dental, I have never before encountered this type of treatment. The accusatory remarks made toward me were not only unprofessional but also damaging to the trust I have placed in this practice. I am sharing this concern because I value the excellent care I have historically received at Wheatland Dental, and I believe this matter deserves to be addressed. However, due to the seriousness of this incident and the false accusation made against me, I will also be submitting a written complaint to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). Please be advised that I have an audio recording of the encounter, which supports my account of the events. I respectfully request a written response outlining how this matter will be addressed within the practice. Thank you for your time and attention to this serious matter.
