Most people (kids included) don't like going to the dentist but everyone at Smiles makes the appointments so relaxing and they take great care of the kids as well as the parents. Beware of the office staff falsely stating that they accept your insurance and that treatment will be covered. I was told that Smiles accepted my PPO insurance but received the following bills: *$195 (billed $335 and covered $140) *$296 (nothing covered) *$178 (billed $296 and covered $118) Plus we paid a copay every time. Meanwhile taking my son to this dentist is equivalent to him brushing his own teeth. I understand that this is mostly for exposure, but come on... if you're not going to actually clean his teeth, the least the office can do is be honest about whether they're in-network and how much treatment costs. read more

My family has been a 'Smiles' family since 2008 when they first opened. In fact, we were one of the very first to sign up and make an appointment for my son during their open house event when Dr. Reem first opened up in the neighborhood. At the time, my son was about to start kindergarten and needed an oral exam to start elementary school. He's now 20 and about to start looking for a more adult-oriented practice but, to date, Smiles is the only dentistry he's ever known! My daughter is 11 and the same goes for her where Smiles is the only dentistry she's ever been. Dr. Reem and her staff are top-notch, on point, detail-oriented. They have always listened to our concerns here, worked with us on treatment options.... I just can't say enough about this practice. Over the years, our insurance has changed & we've even been out of network before but the staff is always great and even helped us with the paperwork needed to file claims. Front desk staff are unorganized and routinely change appointment times without prior notification. I would show up to my kid's appointment as agreed and they would tell me the appointment was pushed back 30 or 45 minutes. Dentists treat their staff condescendingly, constantly micromanaging their every move. The assistant taking images of my child was so nervous (and obviously lacked training) that she kept on taking images of the wrong tooth until the dentist screamed at her in front of everyone. Billing is not properly managed. My kid was having a filling done and I requested no gas, I was however charged for the gas. On routine cleaning procedures (completely covered by insurance) they would charge for the procedure while in the office and then charge additional bills to my card without notification or explanation. When I inquired by the additional bills by email, this is what Dentist Stoller had to say: We are sorry you feel your insurance mandated co-payments are not something you are responsible for. I hope your family finds a dental provider who provides wonderful care for your child and who is more in-line with your financial expectations. A complete lack of customer service skills and a very snarky unprofessional attitude. read more

We have taken our child to Smiles for years for his bi-annual check ups. We never paid for his visits, as it was covered by our dental insurance. This year, I received an email bill stating that we owed TWO HUNDRE DOLLARS for his most recent cleaning, checkup, and flouride treatment. When I tried to call Smiles multiple times to speak to someone about this bill, no one picked up the phone. The voice mail states that Smiles is. no longer answering the phone due to the pandemic. Instead, all communication must be through email. Wanda from billing emailed me back. She too could only communicate by email and was not available to speak on the phone. Wanda stated that our insurance must have changed, and no longer covered Dr. Reem Kabbarah. She advised that I speak to my insurance because it was wrong that they did not alert me to this change. When I spoke to my insurance, they said that Dr. Reem Kabbarah changed HER insurance coverage last year. When I emailed Wanda about this, she claimed that Dr. Kabbarah informed us of this change. WHY WOULD I TAKE MY SON TO DR. KABBARAH IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD BE PAYING OUT OF POCKET? We asked that since we had a long relationship with Smiles, could we at least split the billing difference. The answer was NO. BE WARNED. THIS DENTAL OFFICE WILL NOT SPEAK TO YOU OVER THE PHONE. THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR INSURANCE COVERAGE, NOT TELL YOU, AND THEN BILL YOU. read more

Extremely dissatisfied with how they handled our appointment and how they had zero regard for the value of our time. We had our appointment booked for this Wednesday for the last 6 months. On Tuesday morning, they confirmed the Wednesday appointment by email and over the phone. We show up on Wednesday (having missed half day of summer camp) and discover that the office is closed and they cannot see us today! They then tell us that the appointment is actually on Thursday at 3:20 pm and we have to come back tomorrow! We were disappointed and angry having wasted our time like that, but ok. Today, Thursday, we were on our way to our appointment once again, when we get a call from the clinic at 3 pm asking why we were not there since the appointment is at 3 pm! We respond that it was actually for 3:20 and we are on our way, to which they insisted that it was at 3 pm and that if we are not there in 10 minutes, they cannot see us! We responded that we'd be there at 3:18, to which the person said it's 8 minutes too late and we should not even bother coming, and they will charge us for no show! All while we are on our way with my son, having once again missed 1/2 day of the summer camp! I have never felt more disregarded and taken advantage of than today. We have been your customer for 7 years! It's just not acceptable to mishandle appointments like that and treat your patients in such an inconsiderate manner. My son and I just got home from our first appointment, and I have to share this great find with everyone. Dr. Reem has the qualifications- she is a graduate of the University of Southern California. Her bright and cheerful office is inviting, with a few video game stations to keep the kids occupied while they wait, instead of sitting around getting more and more anxious about the appointment. They don't overbook the office, which means you get the time you need for her to go through the xrays, and answer any questions. Her staff is super-helpful and friendly. The office is paperless- and they were even able to email me my son's x-rays right after the appt! Jack loved the goody bag too. I would not know whether Dr. Reem Kabarrah is good or not. She probably is because people recommended. But after talking to her front desk person, Diane, on the phone I really wondered about this office's level of professionalism. For no good reason, this Diane person was overly obnoxious. I am not a person who likes to fight with people (especially a secretary), nor did I let it happen. But she was continuously so difficult to talk to that not only I decided to the heck with this office, but also they deserve a minus star. So this review is about Diane. At first, I told her my child is 2 yrs old and with cavities and I want to bring her to get a second opinion on what can be done about it. Diane tells me that she needs me to bring x-rays of my child's teeth, or they need to ask it from the first doctor so they don't expose the child to so many times of x-ray. In surprise I said, I didn't know 2-yrs old can be x-rayed. Only then she said, your child is 2-yrs old? Without apologizing she just sounded she was just not listening. OK, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and moved on. Next, she says that she only has an appointment for the new patient on Mondays before 10 am. I said fine, then she says day X, at 7:40 am. I said it's a bit too early but if you don't have anything else, that is fine, as long as I can talk to Dr. Kabarrah about my child. Here is her response: we just can't guarantee you will meet Dr. Kabarrah. It might be another doctor who she works with (without mentioning the name of the other doctor). I said, no, I am sorry, I was told that Dr. Kabarrah is particularly a good doctor so I want an appointment with her. Diane insists that there might be her or another doctor to talk to me, there is NO way that Dr. Kabarrah can guarantee to see us. I said, fine, I can go to another doctor. Then Diane says that she can book us for 9 days after the day X at 11 am. I was surprised that how come all of sudden we can come in at 11 am (not before 10), but OK let's move on. I assumed that means that that time slot is to see specifically Dr. Kabarrah. So I said fine. After hanging up, I decided to give a quick call back to confirm with her that this appointment was to see Dr. Kabarrah specifically so we are on the same page. Upon calling back. Diane repeated the same thing that there is no guarantee to see Dr. Kabarrah. I asked her so what was the point of moving my appointment day Y, and later in time, if I still can't really know if I am going to meet her. This is when Diane really got on my nerves. She first tried to dodge giving a relevant answer. As I insisted for an answer, she said because you said 7:40 am was too early. I said no, I accepted to come that early. That wasn't pointed at all, I continued, you suggested that we came 1.5 weeks later after I said I want to see Dr. Kabarrah. These are her exact words that made think she belongs to an army not a children's office: I am under firm restriction not to guarantee any patient that they are going to see Dr. Kabarrah, as another Dr is also working with her in this office. You are a new patient! Even her old patients "don't have the privilege of seeing her on the day they book their appointment, let alone a new patient"!!! I was done with her and this office after the word "privilege", I said just please cancel my appointment, bye! read more

We have been taking our two children to this practice since they were toddlers - they are now 11 and 13 years old. The dentists, dental assistants and support staff are all incredible and very friendly and every time we leave, the kids are happy. I was hesitant to take them for cleanings during the pandemic, but their covid response surpassed my expectations. Their entire staff is incredibly careful and the office is immaculate.
