I have hated the dentist for majority of my life. I came here today as a first time patient for a cleaning and when I tell you, this is the BEST dentist office I've ever been to. I have never felt so comfortable and in such good hands. From the hygienist, to Dr. William Cheng, they were absolutely excellent. Best cleaning I have had, the hygienist was extremely kind and thorough. She was meticulous about getting all the stains and any buildup out. Plus they put TV's on the ceiling so when you're getting your cleaning you can watch Netflix. It's bright and airy in there and it's across from a beautiful green lawn! I came in for a touch-up after accidentally throwing away my retainers (pro tip: do NOT put them in a napkin ), and my lower teeth had shifted a bit. Dr. Nicole Cheng was absolutely AMAZING throughout the entire process. She was so meticulous and took the time to make sure everything was done perfectly. Beyond her attention to detail, she's incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knows what she's doing. She graduated from UCLA and completed her orthodontic residency there as well (which is highly competitive) so you're truly in expert hands. This review is long overdue. After going through so many dentists around Beverly Hills and the Westside who felt more like car salesmen and charged way too much for unnecessary work. I was so relieved to finally find our family dentist 7 years ago. Dr. William Cheng is polite, patient, and truly takes his time to listen to concerns. When my husband lost his job and dental insurance, Dr. Cheng was incredibly kind and worked out a deal for me when I needed dental care the most. That level of compassion is rare. Dr. Nicole Cheng handled my kids' orthodontic work and has been just as wonderful--attentive, responsive, and great with children. In the past 7 years, I haven't needed any major dental work--just regular cleanings which says a lot about the quality and honesty of their care. The office is always clean, modern, and equipped with high-tech machines. They also have enough staff to respond quickly to calls and texts, and everyone is genuinely friendly. Both doctors are UCLA graduates, which gives me even more confidence in their expertise. After searching all over the SGV/Los Angeles area for a dentist, I finally found my dental practice and I couldn't be happier. Vision Dental is by far the cleanest dental office I've ever seen. The office is spacious and has such a relaxed feel the moment you walk in. I've never really enjoyed going to the dentist, but after coming here I actually feel confident about keeping up with my yearly checkups. The staff is amazing, super easy to work with, and my wait time to see the doctors was basically non existent. Will and Kevin were my doctors, and they made the whole process a breeze. I had all my wisdom teeth removed, and it took them less than 30 minutes. I left with minimal pain on a scale of 1-10, I'd say it was about a 3. What stood out the most was their honesty and professionalism. I didn't feel like I was being upsold on anything, and they were even able to work with me without insurance. I have seen both Dr. William Cheng as well as the orthodontist Dr. Nicole Cheng. It is difficult to say in words how fantastic both of them are. This review is mainly for Dr. William Cheng. My most recent issue was with a crown revision after my root canal revision. The previous dentist that did my root canal and crown did not do a very good job and it got reinfected. I consulted with Dr. William Cheng and he was knowledgable, understanding as well as very particular in getting things done in the right way. My case was not an easy case as it was one of the back molars and there was not much teeth left to work with. Dr. Cheng was able to save it. He explained and walked me through what he was planning on doing, the possible scenarios when he goes into my teeth depending on the situation. On top of that he is very clear and fair with pricing and explains what goes into it. When it came to the day for him to do my crown revision he did everything he could to get it perfect and exact the first time. He walked me through the entire procedure as he was doing it and when the crown was put on it was a perfect fit. I feel extremely confident that Dr. Cheng is one of the best general dentist in the area and will do an amazing job on anything he works on for you. If he cannot do a good job he would not do it and refer you to someone else or give you options. Vision Dental as a whole is very well ran and the staff are very kind. I recently came in for a deep teeth cleaning and, honestly, I was pretty nervous--needles aren't exactly my cup of tea. Right from the start, Valerie made me feel more comfortable. The whole appointment went by so fast, I almost felt like I could fall asleep--that's how surprisingly relaxed I was! What really blew me away, though, was what I saw when I got home. Even with half my mouth still numb, I could lift my lip and see my teeth, and I've never seen them look this good. My family has seen Dr. Cheng for 7 years or so. I had a negative experience at another dentist that scared me off all dental visits for a couple years; it was my husband's many positive experiences with Vision Dental that finally got me back in the dentist chair. I would say I have average dental anxiety (not of the procedures, but of possible pain associated with them.) I've had many cleanings, replacements of old fillings, and most recently, a crown - which I was incredibly nervous about - and can honestly say I've never felt any level of pain during any dental procedure there. Dr. Cheng is an incredibly gentle and compassionate dentist. He has normalized my apprehensions, talked me through all procedures, and answered all my questions with incredible patience and non-judgement. His response when I went MIA for several cleanings because of pregnancy-related nausea? "No problem, you're here now, let's pay extra attention to your enamel since you had morning sickness for so long." I would also say Dr. Cheng focuses on conserving as much of my natural teeth as possible and often talks to me about the long term health of my teeth and the longevity of therapeutic treatments (vs. many other dentists who can be very intervention-heavy.) We happily drive from OC to Vision Dental for the peace of mind to be with such a great dental practice! read more

My daughter was due for her first ever dentist visit. My daughter doesn't just cry... she screams... Very loudly... At a very high pitch. We started preparing her for her visit about a week or two ahead, but needless to say, I was dreading a visit to the dentist where she would have to actually keep her mouth open for a stranger to look around under bright lights. The staff are super friendly, and they are so empathetic of parents bringing their kiddos in for their visits. When I was told to sit with my daughter on the chair, I got up, and the tears started. I steeled myself for the worst. When we sat down, she saw that there was a TV mounted to the ceiling that played an endless stream of cartoons. And for a girl who rarely ever gets more than 10 minutes of screen time a day, she was in heaven. I felt her stiffen up when Dr. Huynh walked in, but he was friendly, easygoing, and engaging. He spoke with us for a bit, then came time for the cleaning/brushing. We focused her attention on the TV screen, but she honestly didn't seem to mind the procedure at all. When everything was done, she happily walked out of the building and was all too happy to dig in to her new gift bag filled with a Tigger toothbrush, toothpaste, and colorful floss! We're due back in six months, and hopefully, it'll go as smoothly as the first! read more

I found Dr Cheng by chance when I needed urgent help. My filling came out and was able to snag a spot with him next day. He was extremely transparent and not pushy whatsoever. He is an honest guy that was trying to keep costs reasonable for me. I've now been coming here for years and had the handsdown best dental care I've had in my life. The office is super modern, clean, and updated. They have tvs mounted on the ceiling so you can watch hgtv while getting your teeth cleaned. Christine has been my hygienist for years and I work around her schedule. She loves what she does and it shows. She is very thorough and gives tips on how to better maintain my teeth without making me feel guilty. Ive recommended them to friends and family. I cannot recommend Dr Cheng and Christine more. Not to sound dramatic but Dr.Cheng saved me from what could have been a disastrous medical issue. To preface, I've been pretty diligent about my oral health and have never experienced a dental emergency prior to this . I had excruciating pain on Sunday and called them early Monday morning.. the lovely staff was able to squeeze me in and see the doc. Dr.Cheng thoroughly explained the issue .. (due to a diff dentist ~8 years ago) and even spent time with me discussing strategies regarding insurance. Despite this being an actual nightmare.. I am eternally grateful that I came to this practice and sought help. Dr.Cheng is meticulous with his work, is honest, and tells you how it is. I really appreciate how he also reviews the long term pros/cons of different procedures and allowed ME TO MAKE A CHOICE. Shared decision making - I love to see it. I could go on an on but last thing I'll say is that this practice is clean! As someone who works in healthcare, I have a bit of anxiety when it comes to germs and contamination.. however, I feel safe coming here (please keep it up!) . This practice is by far the best and most professional office I've ever been to. Vision Dental is also super convenient as it is walking distance from my apartment. However, there are actually two locations (Santa Monica and West LA) and both have free parking which is definitely a plus in LA! The front desk (specifically Linda, Melissa and Mike) are all super kind and helpful! They're always super patient when I call to make appointments and when I check out post-appointment. Dr. Cheng makes me feel super comfortable and I trust him with my dental health. I typically hate getting numbing shots but I never feel a thing when I get them here! I've gotten my teeth cleaned by Amanda & Liz and they are both incredibly thorough. Vision Dental is the best dental experience I have ever had. Most of us are not the biggest fans of seeing the dentist. From the moment you make you appointment, everything is communicated and well organized. I have never had to wait when I get there because they run such a smooth machine! Now on the dental hygienist, Amanda. She is the best. She is very thorough and takes her time to make sure you teeth shine! They have Netflix on the ceiling for your viewing pleasure or you can listen to soothing music like I do! Dr. Chris Strandburg is legit the best dentist. My excellent experience has been due to the Dental Hygienist Christy! Hopefully that's how you spell the name. She really spent time on my routine cleaning (at least 30 minutes which is rare). The last 2 cleanings I got done at another dentist office did not spend that much time and so plaque remained. I was also explained and shown areas on the screen where tartar had hardened. My last dentist failed to tell me about the tartar build up and never scaled my back teeth for it. My teeth have not looked this clean in a long time. The dentist, Dr. Strandburg, was kind enough to offer to send me pictures of my teeth that needed attention. He also explained things very simply. My 2 year old saw the pediatric dentist, Dr Andrew Huynh. He told us where we should focus flossing and that our sons teeth looked good. I'm happy with his first dental appt. read more

Even though I moved to Redondo Beach about an hour away from the office, I still make the drive because it's that worth it. Dr. Chris Strandburg really is the best dentist. He is so caring and will take the time to describe each procedure with you, step by step. He's never pushy, and will any questions you may have. He is a very kind dentist who truly cares about his patients. I have been going to him for a couple years, and recently sent my mom here as well. She is in her 60's and somewhat traumatized from dentists (due to poor dental care in her earlier days in Europe). Getting her to see a dentist was a big deal, so I am really thankful that Dr. Strandburg is so gentle and patient with her. He puts her fears at ease and I can tell it makes her happy. I, like 90% of the population, fear the dentist office like no other. I hadn't been to the dentist in over a decade so that added on to the terror. I did extensive research on the inter web and all signs pointed to vision dental. I came in for a cleaning and evaluation. First impression - did I accidentally step into Burke Williams? Everything is so clean and sleek. Stephanie did my cleaning and she was efficient and gentle. I heard the angels sing Hallelujah when Dr. Garcia came in and delivered the line, "you have no cavities". He addressed other concerns I had with the most conservative options which I always appreciate. All fears aside, I'm getting two crowns done by Dr. Garcia - honestly never thought I'd see the day. I was watching the Olympics the entire time he was sculpting away with Valerie on the assist. Dr. Garcia may be an artist by night.. I've been recommending all my friends and coworkers here since my first visit in January. They always take you in on time, there's parking, flexible hours, billing is a breeze, everyone is very nice and helpful, I mean.. what else could one ask for? Omg I think I have found my new dentist!! Dr. William Chang is so awesome! I have not been to the dentist in four years, and I told him I didn't want to be lectured or anything! And he didn't! But he did advise I don't wait that long. The atmosphere was so nice and welcoming! The staff there is nice as well. Dr. Cheng answered all my questions, I didn't feel like he was rushing or anything. I've always had a fear with going to the dentist, but I think this may be my permanent dental place. I will fly/drive here even if I move somewhere, I honestly think it is so hard to find a great dental place that treats you well, not try to charge you an arm and leg. I got a free consultation and X-rays for $175. The X-rays kind of hurt though, only when you have to bite on the thingy, which isn't anyone sfault I am going back for a filling and cleaning next week! I will update you guys on that! Update! So I came in to get a cleaning and filling. And omg this was one of the best cleaning I've gotten, maybe it's because I has to pay out of pocket vs being younger and having Medicaid.
