My hubby recommended the dental office after a long search. We both find the office nice with easy access - close to home. San, the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. My hygiene assistant, LaShante' and hygienist, Heather were great, friendly, and knowledgeable. They made my visit so comfortable, pleasant, and actually fun!! My dentist, Dr. Beckton was outstanding! She had taken care to explain everything after my examination. Awesome! Glad hubby found this office! My only reservation was with the front desk person who oversees the insurance/benefits activities. Not a pleasant experience. read more

I am pleased with Dr. Gibbs. She has performed 2 procedures on me and I have no issues with her care. My husband has also been pleased. I also love my hygienist, Camille. So my 4-star review is limited to those 2 individuals. I cannot say the same for other staff members. One of the individuals who sits you down to get you ready was not hospitable and bed side manner was terrible. I have a very small mouth and always request the smaller xray process. While my hygienist has never had a problem with that request, she refused to do it and it was a more than 30-minute process to get her to understand. She even moved me to another room and caused my appointment to be moved to after another client because of this. One other issue which anyone might want to consider is cost. I believe they are higher but they cannot charge more than my insurance will allow. So, if you do not have insurance you might want to compare prices. read more

Beware, folks of this practice... They want your money, not a solution to your problems, in our experience with them. My wife had pain above a tooth, and sadly, we didn't read the poor reviews for this place before visiting. They took X-rays and determined that a capped tooth should come out. I asked about the fact that no infection showed on the pictures, and they said it often does not show. They estimated over $900 for the extraction, plus the initial costs and entry into their program, and over $4000 additional for an implant, plus the cost for bone treatment since the implant would be too close to the sinuses. Finally, $60,000 for all of the problems they had discovered. Suspecting their analysis and the pressure to act, we decided to get a second opinion from another practice nearby. Their X-rays showed no abscess; they did many other tests and finally determined that the problem may not be tooth-related but sinus-related. We did as they suggested, and the problem disappeared. Nice check in area, although didn't have to wait in there long. New patient exam was very thorough and did take time, but it was worth it. They reviewed my bite, x-rays and areas of concern in detail with me, as well as recommendations on how to minimize issues in the future. My son was grossly overcharged for fluoride treatment for his teeth. No cavities just check up was ridiculous cost. Over $700! I checked with two other offices and cost was 75% less. I called and left a message to talk about it but no one called me back. I kept calling but the office manager would not talk to me. Finally I talked to a poor young receptionist who repeated my questions for the manager sitting right near her. Manager didn't think she needed to speak with me I guess. read more

As a new patient I tried Smiles on Cypress Point for a standard teeth cleaning. After 1.5 hours or X-rays, digital scans and photos of my teeth, they told me I needed some gum work and it would cost $600. I wanted to do the gum work some other time but I also wanted the teeth cleaning to remove some coffee stains and give me that smooth teeth feeling. They refused unless I did the gum work first right then and there. Let me repeat that, they refused to clean my teeth!!! I don't believe they were doing it for more billings, but I can't drop the thought. I can't recommend this office. I'm looking for a more customer friendly dentist. read more

2 nd time I have a difficult time here. The dentist assistant was super nice but the doctor was not listening to me when I asked her not to tilt my head so far back as I will get sick, on what she responded " my back will hurt too and I have to do this all day long " so when she gave me the anesthesia, I felt my eye numb so bad, way more than the actual gum. When the work was done I sat up and my eye lid was sagging and I had double vision. I know my body, I told her I can't be place with my head down that far but she still didn't make accommodations so I can be comfortable. Where is the compassion for your patient attitude? If her back hurts from working on patients, so patients have to suffered instead, I believe she needs to get another job. I couldn't drive after and had to get my husband off from work to come get me. read more

I'm shocked by these negative reviews. I've been with these guys since 2017-18 ish, and have nothing but positive experiences to recount. My mom and brother also attend- Dr Gibbs has helped us for years, and has been extremely kind and detailed in her explanations of our dental health. I've had cavities addressed, teeth capped, X-rays, cleanings, etc.- all of which were done quickly and explained thoroughly before the start. I've had emergency appointments- the team got me in within hours of a call to address pain. My Invisalign journey was expedited as I was leaving for university and Dr Gibbs was trying to help me finish the process before moving states. I was in the office every 1-2 weeks for new trays, inspections, and information. I still live out of state much of the year, but I set my appointments for when I'm in the area just to see the same faces I'm familiar with. Great team, great docs! read more

They sent me a bill for over $700 , that the Insurance Companies Dentist said was NOT NECESSARY! They told me they had gotten it pre-approved and I paid them that Amount. When i called to make the appointment i told them i went to another dentist and he took xrays and told me i need a simple extraction but he could not do it. When i talked to smiles i asked them if they will take my xrays and if they could do the extraction i even gave them the tooth number they said yes we can. There web site says they offer surgical extractions. They made me wait a month for the visit they did not care i was in pain it takes 10 minutes to extract a tooth they could have fit me in somewhere. When i went for my office visit they told me we have to do new xrays and a new exam, I told them i got the xrays and exam a month ago. Then they get mad because i did not have to pay for new xrays , then they told me i need to see a oral surgeon i said no i dont its a simple extraction and your own web site says you do surgical extractions. and there doctor never looked at my mouth so how can the manager say this. Then the manager tell me to leave the office i start to walk and the manager follows me and grabs my arm i tell her dont touch me again or i will call the police. read more

I moved here about a year and a half ago. I am a new patient with Dr Gibbs. I had to have crowns put in as well as some other work done. I never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes once I had checked in for my appointment. Everyone has been very professional and friendly. They take the time to patiently go over your treatment plan. Some dentists string out treatment into as many appointments as they can. An issue I have had in the past at other dentist offices. When I made my first appointment at Smiles on Cypress Point, they asked if there was anything about my last dentist that I didn't like. This is something that no one had ever asked before. A great practice in my opinion. I told them that this had happened with my last dentist and that I wished to compact my treatment into as few appointments as possible, and they made sure to accommodate me in this. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Smiles on Cypress Point! Dr Gibbs is great! read more

I have and 3 appointments in the past year and have had to wait about an hour past each appointment time before I was seen. Prior to my last appointment, I even called ahead to see if they were running on time and was told yes, they were. I arrived early, and had to wait yet again, 1 hour past my appointment time before I was seen. I could understand waiting 15 minutes or so, but an hour is quite excessive. Unless you have nothing to do but wait, I would not recommend this dental office. I was in such a hurry to leave, I did not even see the dentist after my recent cleaning. Horrible Dental Practice: Extremely Dishonest, Rip Off, they will attempt to take advantage of the (CLIENT)! In this CASE (Elderly Person) every chance you give them, if they are given the opportunity! Also, their practice both Refused and Denied to help my 87 y/o mother at the time, who had just lost three BRIDGES, at the Time and was in dire need of dental work in order to be able to eat! They performed all kinds of diagnostic test, X-Rays, and Examinations and ran her bill for several hundreds of dollars! They even scheduled her on a Friday late afternoon and billed her for an increased "EMERGENCY CHARGE" as my mother was bleeding from here lost gum line of the 3 rd. BRIDGE that came loose the night before at dinner! The Dentist, Dr. Gibbs was "NOT" even there! This was OUR last Straw and they still attempt to send me Bills! I paid them over $450 dollars for a routine "DEEP" Dental Cleaning that was suppose to be covered by my Dental Insurance! Of Course upon leaving after my first Dental Appointment, the Front Desk Billing Dept.called me to the Front Desk to tell me that my Dental Insurance denied me the coverage for the DEEP Dental Cleaning! I paid for it to avoid any trouble with my credit, but after telling them what I thought of how they had told me that my Dental Insurance Policy would cover this Deep Dental Cleaning and to suddenly be told after the service was provided to pay up out of pocket or else? I was '"NOT" Happy about the $450 Dental Cleaning, but paid before I left on my Credit Card as it was my first Office Visit! Unfortunately, I which I hadn't paid them this BILL and ran far from this incompetent Practice! Please follow your intuition and Flee from especially from a Dental Practice when there are SEVERAL REVIEWS on both "YELP" and the "BBB: both give Smiles on Cypress Point a bad rating ! POOR!!!!!!!!! My personal first visit was a nightmare! I had purchased my own Dental Policy long prior to the first Appointment, like 5 months before! Due to an MVA back in 2015 and still as of yet today is under litigation! I was unable to just go buy any Insurance Policy I wanted as most major Health and Medical Insurance Companies would REFUSE to cover me due to the open and pending litigation from 2015! Lucky me, as this MVA was "NOT" my fault and has left me with numerous medical bills due to numerous and serious injuries as the responding Authorities NEVER citied the Driver lacking insurance and was speeding, who hit me! Florida is a NO FAULT STATE, this LAW Stinks if you are a victim of an accident caused by the Negligence of someone else and La Enforcement does not follow-up with the CASE as well as they should!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am staying in the area for a year and came in just for a cleaning only. I requested no Xrays because I had these done by my previous dentist and could forward them to the office if they needed and I know my teeth well and take good care of them and have no issues. The office staff put me through even after I said I will not be doing Xrays and the hygienist began her work but consulted with the Dentist. The Dentist told her its Florida law that a hygienist cannot perform a cleaning without Xrays which is a total lie. The hygienist relayed this information back to me and they refused to do the cleaning because the Dentist would not allow it and requested I leave. Florida law does not regulate the practice of dentistry to the degree of mandating how often patients are to be X-rayed. The frequency of X-rays depends on the individual condition and needs of the patient and the Dentist knows this, and I could have sent my original Xrays from my previous dentist. This dentist is demanding I undergo unnecessary radiation in order to generate more income for their office. I do not recommend this practice to anyone. read more

We are just moving into the area, so i asked around before attending a dentist and supposedly these people got good reviews. First, i waited a long time, but that in itself was not a problem. I went in for a broken tooth, and they found something else (that i already knew about and had my other dentist going to take care of), completely ignored the broken tooth. I first started with one tech who was very nice, which quickly turned into another tech who was acting like the dentist herself, looking at the Xrays and telling me what needed to be done, and very pressured! The dentist explained things in a way that a normal individual couldn't really get what she was saying. Then it was pressure - get it done now, we might be able to discount, stay and we can rush you in, yadda yadda, get the credit set up. It was a nightmare! Last time i got treated like this was when i was in a car dealership and they pressured me to buying the car NOW. The price was ridiculous as well, and honestly after being in the chair for over an hour just with them trying to get me to do this cavity, i will never go back. And no, i decided not to have them work on my cavity. I needed the broken tooth addressed which they totally did not do. read more

The one star is being generous. As a new patient, I read the reviews on the two dentists and requested one with the best reviews BUT was given the other dentist. Fortunately during the initial X-ray and cleaning, I asked if the fluoride treatment was an extra and was then told it was. Was told a crown I had for many years should be replaced because the dentist felt it was too big. Made an appointment for two minor fillings and confirmed it by phone more than a week prior to the appointment. Was called the day before the appointment asking if I really wanted another cleaning since the last one was done two months ago. I responded that my appointment was for two small fillings and not a cleaning. I was then told the person who confirmed my appointment for the two fillings was a trainee and I could not have my scheduled appointment for the fillings. This office needs help. They are unwilling to fill requests for specific dentists and the people who do the scheduling are untrained and incapable. There are many, many dentists in Palm Coast, Florida and I suggest you go to someone other than Smiles on Cypress Point if you're looking for a practice you can trust. read more
