I cannot recommend this dentist strongly enough! Dr. Smith and his staff have been kind and honest and responsible from the first time I came in for a cleaning (which I think was maybe 8-9 years ago). I have heard awful stories of scammer dentists and unnecessary procedures etc and this office is the polar opposite of that. Just good people doing good work. I get a little nervous sometimes before a visit but by the time I leave I always feel better. It is basically a life affirming experience going to this dentist! Dr. Smith is awesome. I haven't had any major dental work but I am always pleased when I get my cleanings. I don't go as often as I should, once every couple of years. Nevertheless the service and care is exceptionally great. The office is always clean, staff is great to work with and friendly. Most recently, I called after hours and left a voicemail for a callback to schedule a cleaning. The next day doctor Smith himself returned my call and scheduled my appointment for the following week! I was shocked! He explained they are short handed due to the holidays so he goes in on Fridays (when they're closed) to help catch up! I love that he rolls up his sleeves and does all the work in his business wherever it needs to be done. I will also say that I've been going here for about 12 years and as infrequently as I go, again 2 yrs since my last visit , he sure does have a good memory or takes good notes on patients when they visit. He remembered I have a teenage son and 2 small daughters, and we chatted about his 3 boys and how different parenting teens and young adults is in today's day and age. A couple of years ago, when I inquired about whitening after my first visit in 3 years and having back to back babies, cause pregnancy really took a toll on my teeth, he said it's cheaper and easier to just do the whitening strips at home, and I appreciated that especially since at the time I had two under 2 in diapers and daycare. He's a family man and appreciates his patients for who they are and where they're at in life. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Smith for your dental care and needs. read more

I'm so happy that we were referred here! Everybody smiled, the ladies in the office were so friendly and made my daughters feel welcomed and comfortable. My youngest daughter (13) said that she liked that they asked her opinion about her teeth and that they were genuinely interested in things that bother her about her smile. They asked me as well and took the time to answer every question that we had. My oldest daughter mentioned that talking to the lady that helped her was like talking to a friend. Dr. Smith is a small-town dentist at heart. No matter how much his practice grows, I am confident he will always treat his patients as friends. I have been going to him since I was young and continue to drive the two hours back to Puyallup in order to keep him as my dentist. He is warm, kind, and always remembers the small details. He even kept a few drawings I made him as a kid in my folder so we can look back on them each visit. I tried this dentist 7 years ago (when living in area) after previously seeing two other dentist that were [sales doctors] who sold me on unneeded procedures, plus billed more then quoted. I then investigated before seeing another... Doctor Smith is/was the best, honest and professional dentist I've found in 66 years, so much so... When we moved to Kelso, Wa. I tried two dentist and found the same, I now travel to Puyallup, get a hotel, just to see this doctor. I was a patient of Dr. Smith's for five or six years in Fircrest and liked his office a lot. Then a few years after he moved to Puyallup, I got the idea that I should try another dentist who wasn't so far away. Big whopping mistake. I have quite a tale of woe...not all of which I have room for here...but the low points provide specific examples of why Dr. Smith is a wonderful dentist. I realized too late that the other dental place was too big for my taste, with a lot of employees doing specific things. That was okay for something simple like a cleaning, but I didn't like it so well when I had to go in and discuss having a tooth crowned. I thought I'd talk to a dentist - I'd always talked to Dr. Smith about these sorts of things - but instead was shown to a small office with an employee who told me what the dentist had written for her. When I said that I'd had prior experience in this area and a different approach worked better for me, she had to go run it by the dentist. It felt like health care by playing telephone. At Dr. Smith's office, he's the one to tell me what he thinks should be done. And he always gives me as much science geek info as I want. I always feel well informed working with him. The other dentist almost worked on the wrong tooth. That would never happen in Dr. Smith's office: he pays attention. And let me rave about Dr. Smith's skill with a hypodermic needle. It took the other dentist three tries to get my mouth numb, and even then, it wasn't complete. It's not much fun to have a tooth worked on when it keeps twinging. Dr. Smith always gets my jaw numb with a minimum of fuss, and he never, ever worked on a tooth until it was completely numb. All the trauma at the other dentist left me with nasty jaw hinge pain for two weeks (relieved only when I saw a skilled acupuncturist). I've never had that kind of complication when I've had work done by Dr. Smith. The final straw with the other dentist was when he glued on a permanent crown that was too short. To the other dentist's credit, his office credited my money back the next day. But still, the dentist never said a word to me at the time, even though I knew that something was not right. Nope, he was too busy moving on to the person in the next chair. I've had crowns done by Dr. Smith and I've always been happy with them. In fact, I went back to Dr. Smith to get a new crown to replace the botched one. Now I know that a 30-minute drive is totally worth it to get a skilled practitioner. Dr. Smith's office staff is friendly and helpful when I'm making or changing appointments. His assistants know what they are doing, and have competently cleaned my teeth at cleaning sessions, and ably done their work (taking impressions, etc.) at other appointments. It's worth the drive to have things done well, and done right the first time. read more

Dr. Aaron Smith helped me so much, I cannot say enough good things about this dentist! Another dentist had done two cavities and was saying I would now need a root canal!!! I was in horrible pain. Dr. Smith not only helped me save the tooth, he later fixed the cavities and did such an amazing job that I had no more pain that same day! He is very kind, very honest and very gentle. He takes the time to speak with each of his patients and makes you feel like more than just a paycheck. He works with your insurance and his fees seem very reasonable. On top of all that, he has a wonderful staff and a beautiful office. You don't find service like this everyday, he really is that great! read more

After 'trying-on' several dentist in the area I've finally found the one for me! It was hard to find a dentist who could measure up to my high standards of dental care. Dr. Smith is a young vibrant dentist who takes his time with his patients. He has a conservative approach to dental care. He understands that these are the only teeth I'm ever going to have. I originally started seeing Dr. Smith after my husband and I first started dating 5 years ago. He spoke so highly of him and his office and as luck would have it, I was in the market for a new dentist. His staff is absolutely wonderful. Kim at the front desk is very kind and friendly, and she always explains insurance and billing well. The hygienists and assistants are always friendly and outgoing, and of course Dr. Smith is great! He does a fantastic job of explaining each step while performing a cosmetic procedure and is very thorough. He stops to make sure you're comfortable and always makes sure that you are pleased with the outcome. I had a chipped tooth fixed and it looks great! Completely natural. Ever since my days in the Army and going to a dentist through them (which mortally horrified me), I hadn't been back to one in almost 5 years. I had a tooth problem that needed immediate attention and went to a big box dentist. Stupid. I went to Dr Smith and haven't looked back since then. He doesn't tell you what every other dentist will tell you. He's all about prevention and how to make a problem never happen again.
