I waited a week after my appointment to write this review, just to see if my opinion would be better when I wasn't so aggravated with the situation. No, my opinion hasn't improved. Dr. Rohdy may be a fine dentist, he seemed knowledgeable, but I wouldn't consider letting him work on my teeth after having to deal with his office policies, misleading website, condescending manner and the rather brusque and rough hygienist. I contacted his office on Tuesday July 7th , I had lost a crown on a molar the Friday beforehand and my dentist was out of town. His receptionist made an appointment for the next week, stating that they were "full up." I booked the appointment, but kept trying to get in elsewhere. I did finally get into an emergency dentist and have the crown replaced prior to this appointment, but I kept the appointment because my dentist wasn't close and was difficult to get in to see on my schedule. I arrived at the office, it's a normal small dental office, was greeted and checked in by the friendly receptionist. (On a side note, I tried to use the guest WiFi, but it did not work.). I was shortly taken back to a room by the hygienist. I was rather taken aback that she thought I was there for a cleaning! If I had not had that tooth fixed, it would have been uncrowned and I would have been in pain unable to eat or drink anything but tepid water for 12 days. ( a fact that I did explain to the receptionist when I made the appointment, in the hopes that I could get in earlier) 12 days! And they thought I would be happy with a teeth cleaning and exam and to come back another time to get that crown fixed. Thank god for an emergency dentist in Federal Way. I go ahead with the cleaning and exam, because 1. I'm there, 2. I've already had to take time off of work and 3. I do need a new dentist. She takes x rays. Then she proceeds to manually scrape at my teeth. She was not gentle, nor was this pleasant. (I haven't had a manual dental cleaning in over 20 years, every dental office I have been to has the "sonic/water jet" device that they remove tarter with). This torture is finally over, and I meet Dr. Rohdy. He gives me his assessment, and it's not great, several crowns need to be replaced, at least one filling needs to be replaced with a crown and a couple of small fillings need to be taken care of. (I was a bit taken aback, it was only 8 months since my last cleaning and exam and my dentist hadn't said anything about replacing crowns or fillings) As I am speaking with Dr. Rohdy, a mention that if I proceeded I would want to take care of as much as possible in one visit. I fear dental treatment, like many people, and require Oral Sedation with Halcyon. He then said he didn't provide sedation. I was very puzzled, as it's listed on his website. He said that the site didn't say he performed sedation dentistry, just that sedation dentistry is an option for people, that he was "just giving people information". I thank him for his time, tell him I will look for treatment elsewhere and leave. I then go back and check his website. How could I have confused basic information with a service being offered? In my opinion, because his website is set up to make you believe that sedation dentistry IS a service he provides. Go to his site, click procedures, and behold sedation dentistry is listed. Click on "sedation dentistry " and read all about your options for sedation. Read the entire page. See the nice little statement at the end? "To see what options are available for your visit, or if you have questions or concerns about sedation dentistry, please contact our Auburn dental office today!" That more than infers that Dr. Rodhy provides sedation dentistry. Am I mad? No. Irritated? Yes. Dr. Rohdy wasted my time (had I still been in pain the entire time I would indeed be mad), he wasted my insurance benefits on a trip to his office when I can't have another cleaning or exam for 6 months, making it hard to find and "interview" a new dentist. He tried to make me feel ignorant because I was somehow confused by his website. His hygienist took out her aggression on my teeth and gums. But the worse thing is...this "top dentist" appears to be willfully misleading potential patients. The question is..to what end? Is he a good dentist? I honestly don't know. Called them to see if they could take me as a new patient. The receptionist was very pleasant & took all of my info plus the issues that I need to address. She asked for my patience, said she would be calling me back shortly after checking my insurance. Honestly, I thought it'd be a while before she called. I was expecting the "brush off" call. To my surprise she called back within 10 minutes! She truly sounded upset to tell me they weren't in the network & couldn't help. I'm lucky to have good genes and as a result have had healthy teeth. But, preventative care is important which is why I have been going to Dr. Rohdy for over 20 years. Dr. Rohdy cares about his patient's health first and foremost and does everything in his power to keep me healthy. Some dentist rely on patient volume, Dr. Rohdy relies on quality of his profession. He saw that I had a potential cavity coming my way (my first one ever in my 30's). Took the time to fully explain what was happening and strategize ways to further prevent the cavity potential from progressing other than what I was already doing. Unfortunately, eventually got one anyways. Going through a procedure I had never done before, I was nervous but (again) Dr. Rohdy took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do and (a few days later) was talking me through what he was doing while he was working on my tooth to put me at ease. The supporting staff behind Dr. Rohdy is second to none! Consistent quality by the reception/billing staff and the hygienist are all masters of their craft. I was recommended to see Dr. Rohdy from a few friends as I needed some dental work that I had been putting off for a while. The front desk receptionist was super friendly when I scheduled my appointment and even called back a week later to get me in sooner when a cancelled appointment slot opened up. I've never had a crown before and to be honest was a tad nervous about the whole ordeal. Dr. Rohdy and his team did a great job explaining everything in detail and was great at alerting me whenever I was to anticipate any form of discomfort. The whole procedure went smoothly and having a movie to watch really helped divert my attention away from the work being done. The technology he has is cutting edge. To be able have a crown fabricated in minutes from a 3D rendering he took of my teeth really blew me away. It's now been a few days and everything feels perfect with my tooth. The team is caring, well trained, and everything ran like a well oiled machine. Dr. Rohdy is knowledgeable, an excellent communicator, and highly skilled at what he does. Today was my first appointment. I walked into the office and there were 2 ladies at the front desk. They both had their heads down, one was sitting and on the phone, the other standing and writing down notes. I stood in front of them for about 30 seconds and neither person looked up or said anything. I was the only person in the waiting area. Ok, I figure they are busy and I will go have a seat. After sitting for 5 minutes, I walk back to the desk. The person standing was still taking notes but looked up this time. I said hello, (my name) and I'm checking in. She said ok you can have a seat, rather curtly like I had interrupted her. I go sit back down. At this point I'm irritated and wondering if I should walk out and forget about this business. A few minutes pass and the person who was on the phone calls my name. I walk up to her and she goes over covid questions. I cannot hide my irritation in the tone of my voice. When she finishes her questions, she apologies for my wait (I don't mind waiting for a bit) I tell her it would have been nice to have my presence acknowledged. She says she was dealing with phone calls, etc., I reply that it only takes a second to say hello (/have a seat/be with you in a few minutes). I walk away and sit down. A few mins pass and the technician meets me in the waiting room. Her name is Tina and she was friendly and listened to me without judgement when I told her what happened in the waiting room. She was efficient with taking my x-rays and cleaning my teeth. I felt so much better after interacting with her. Then I met Dr. Rohdy who was also pleasant. The first thing he said was he was aware I was not happy with my check-in and he wanted to make sure I was ok. I said yes it was not great, but that I understand things get busy in an office. I appreciated the accountability. I'm scoring 2.5 stars today, I have scheduled my next cleaning in 6 months because the most important part of my visit went well. I find myself looking forward to coming in and seeing Dr Rohdy and his friendly staff. Before coming here I have never liked going to the dentist. In fact I used to hate going to the dentist. Which is why even though we moved 40 minutes away I still go to see Dr Tom. Totally worth the drive!! He is very trustworthy, which to me is as important as a trustworthy mechanic. I've been dentists before where I felt like they would recommend things I didn't actually need. In the 10 years I've been to Dr Rohdy I have never felt any doubt about any recommendations or diagnosis. He is really gifted in that I have not had any notable pain during procedures. Plus I like watching a movie while he works on my teeth during longer procedures. (I don't have much time to watch movies usually lol) I also love that he has his own system to make crowns instantly in his office, no need for temporary crowns and having to come in a few more times for fittings. Finally and perhaps most importantly, both Dr Rohdy and his very long time staff are very friendly and professional and always make me feel welcome. I've decided I cannot move any further from Auburn so I won't need to find another dentist! read more

Dr. Rohdy is the best dentist I've gone to in my adult life. His office goes above and beyond to make the patient comfortable. They had movies to watch during the procedure and a massage option on the dentist chair! The doctor is incredibly skilled and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. He didn't over sale anything like sometimes dentist do. The office went out of their way to accommodate my personal medical needs. They didn't complain about the inconvenience. My husband started coming to Dr Rohdy for digital crowns. Dr Rohdy does his research and employs hi-tech techniques. His crowns are precise and immediate...meaning ONE sitting and fits perfectly 99% of the time. I have had to get 2 crowns in the last year and have had them both done by Dr Rohdy. Very pleased with outcome. My previous dentist was a 'hack' but Dr Rohdy & his staff are too classy to bash anyone else's work. He & his staff have integrity and they are the friendliest bunch of 'seasoned' folks you will ever meet. Tammy (dental assistant) takes great care in ensuring patient's needs & comfort. They give a discount for seniors too. I'm hoping to keep my teeth for a very long time. read more
